Form with webutil functions. How identify if user is using native internet

Hello,
I have one form with some webutil functions. How can i identify if a user is using the form with native internet explorer?
If a user with jinitiator use the forms, its ok, but when a user use native internet explorer, he gets error orcle.forms.webutil.fileTransfer bean not found. WEBUTIL_FILE_TRANSFER.getMaxTransfer will not work.
When the user use internet explorer native, I want disable the webutil function before generate a file on the application server and then download to a client machine.
Im using Forms10g and Forms10gR2.

do you have two different config-sections for the two modes?
If so, you could either place a different value for each one in the otherparams-tag and read that at runtime, or use a different env-fiel and set some variable with different values for each config in there and read it via TOOL_ENV.

Use Forms with webutil with java plug

I am using oracle 9i forms with webutil, it works with jinitiator but I have problem runiing with java plug-in. I have changed formweb.cfg as follow. It des not work.
It works on oracle 10g rel1 appserver using jinitiator but does not work with java plug.

user1 using SQLplus on monday august 9.30.21 PM...and I have table which record this for audit user.
Or..
Can I block user who connect to oracle using SQLPlus?

You can enable Auditing (AUDIT_TRAIL) and audit at the Session Level to record Logon and Log off of a required user. This can be enabled to be recorded in the audit table or operation system file. You can also audit user statements etc.
For example, to enable auditing connect for user UGONIC
SQL>audit connect by UGONIC;
TO disable it
SQL>noaudit connect by UGONIC;
Check in the SQL Reference for the AUDIT statement and requirements.
If you do not want the user to connect at all via SQL*Plus, you can use PRODUCT_USER_PROFILE to disable a users access to SQL*Plus or at the lower level, disable specified SQL*Plus and SQL commands for the user. You need to run the PUPBLD.SQL script as system user (if not run yet) and add records to it as required.
Example: After running PUPBLD.SQL. This entry stops the user UGONIC from using the drop command at the backend in SQL*Plus.

Note that if a user is already connected by the profile entry, it is not activated on that session, but on subsequent logons. Again read the requied security documentations for this.
For both auditing, you need to set the required database intialisation parameters and know where to get the audit records (in tables, views or OS file). For instance, when using tables, you maintain and query tables like audit$ to view the logs. When using OS type logging, it is recorded on the path specified in the AUDIT_FILE_DEST init parameter (In Windows, it is logged in the Windows Event and you can view it from the event viewer).

Urgent! form with webutil works with IAS but not with the 9iDS

I'm configuring a standalone PC on which i can run forms as if they were running with an IAS. Now we have a form which uses webutil. This form runs fine in our IAS-environment, but fails on the standalone PC.
On the standalone machine I'm using 9ids (9.0.2) to run this form. When the form is started I'm getting an error: FRM-40734 Internal error PL/SQL error occurred. This is caused by calls to the webutil-routines client_win_api_environment.get_windows_username and client_win_api_environment.get_computer_name
(When I comment out these calls, the form doesn't return an error)

I've tried your suggestion and the newly created form works on both environments (the standalone PC with the iDS and the "normal" evironment with an IAS). Then I added another button to this newly created form with the code "message(client_win_api_environment.Get_Windows_username);"
This also works in the new form. Then I added some debugging code to the webutil.pll and discovered that when I use the above code in the new form everything is ok, but when I use the call client_win_api_environment.Get_Windows_username the following exception is raised in the gew_windows_username-procedure: CLIENT_WIN_API.NOT_AVAILABLE
I've compared the newly created form with the original from and can't discover major differences between the two forms. Do you have another idea where to look?
I noticed I forgot to mention both forms are created with oracle designer.

Create form with inside functions

Hello members,
i want to create a simple invoice form which has the adressline in the head, the positions in the middle and a footer with summary lines.
Like an invoice.
I have search several days in all forums, but i haven't found a simple explanation, how to use the printing options with printer friendly pages.
Could anyone help for this ?
I have found to create a report, which can marked with "printing = Yes" and then several tabs opens to modify the paper width and so on.
But how to place some information in the header ?
How to place some information in the footer
How will i get a page break, when the positions are more than one page ?
How it is working with these kind of simple printing forms ?

To do an invoice you will either need to:
1) Work with XSL-FO to format your output so that FOP/Cocoon can format your output properly
2) Get a copy of BI Publisher, take one of the existing templates and modify the layout to your requirements.
3) Get a copy of pl/pdf, and hand generate your layout..
My suggestion here is BI Publisher, since it has a Word based template editor you can use.. However it is rather pricey.. Less you are hosting with a 3rd part hosting company, I know of one that charges $50 a month to host apex apps and offers BI Publisher..

How get the user that use CRM in my web site

Hi all,
I have a web app that connect to my CRM. I use C#.
I connect to CRM with my credential because I'm admin in CRM.
But my app is used from others CRM user and I need to know who is systemuser CRM that use app.
I need the same of Xrm.Page.context used in js or the same context used in plugin, but I have the problem that I connect to CRM with my user. So If I use WhoAmIRequest class I have my userid and not the userid of the user that use my web app.
Is it possible know this? Do I change my login with user login in CRM?

Hi,
As you use system admin to connect to CRM, WhoAmIRequest does not return the user from website. You are correct. Change that so that it uses logged in user however be aware that means each user needs to be a valid CRM user else they
will get not a valid user error.

How to force user to use program?

I have designed a java app that starts as soon as you log on to a Windows NT client. The application asks the user for a project number. After the user types in a valid project number, the application hides. When the user logs off, or does a shutdown, the application writes info to a file about about how long this user used the PC, and for which project number he or she did that. When a user does not enter a project number and tries to close the application, the system will automatically shutdown. I can hide the windows taskbar by using a big size for the application frame.
My question is, how can I make sure that the user does not simply ignores the program by using the windows key, or ctrl-Esc to launch the windows start menu? Someone out there who has an idea? Thanks in advance!

How to stop user from using 961 mvt type in MB1C transaction code?

Hi Friends,
We have two companies. Already we have restricted end user for using 961 & 962 mvt type in MB1C transaction code in one company code 1000. Now, we want to restrict end user for using 961 & 962 mvt type in MB1C transaction code in other company code 1200.
I have checked configuration using OMJJ transaction. But, it is there so there may be some different way of control.
Can any body help me?

Hi,
To restrict/block the movement type, the steps are:
1. use transaction code OMJJ.
2. Enter the movement type you want to block.[From 961 To 961](do for both961& 962)
3. Select the Second option in the List which appears in the left. (Allowed Transaction).
4. Remove the transaction codes (MB1C)from where you do not want to use that particular movement type& save.
For user specific to block the movement type, pl consult Basis Consultant.

when i run the Form wu_test_106.fmb, the error "oracle.forms.webutil.clientinfo bean not found. WEBUTIL_CLIENTINFO.GET_SYSTEM_PROPERTY will not work."
i use Forms 10G with oracle db 9.2 and webutil 1.06.

It apopears you are not following your own logic. You need to design your logic around detecting when conditions for pressing the key will result in the right or wrong response. Pressing the key should only call one function. Inside that function is where you need to determine if the press is right or wrong.

Form Personalization - Custom Function - How to pass parameters?

Hi,
My requirement is to call a custom mod pl/sql program (html page) from purchasing when the "approve" button is pressed. I have it working, but don't know how to pass parameters to my function.
I have my function defined and registered. In the definition under "Web HTML" tab, I have my pl/sql procedure call under "HTML Call". Where do the parameters go?
On the customization of form POXPOEPO, I am using Builtin - Launch a function. I want to pass the po_header_id, so under "Parameters", I did "Insert Item Value" of :PO_HEADERS.PO_HEADER_ID
My custom HMTL page is popping up, but the parameter is not being passed. Is there something in the Function Definition where I can define the incoming paramaters?

Captivate 5.5 - Effects window is blank with no functionality, how do I get it back?

Captivate 5.5 project. When I select any image in this project to add an effect, the effect window will display but it is entirely blank. No functionality on the screen at all.
Tried to start a new project, same thing no effects? Existing project, same thing.
I'm new to captivate development. Am I missing something basic?

I suppose you already tried to change workspaces, there is an Effects Workspace but doubt that it will solve your problem?
Since you do not see anything in the panel, you cannot even browse to the Effects folder. First try to clear the cache of Captivate (Preferences, General settings).
Even this will not help I think, but worth trying.
Next step is to close Captivate, and delete the Preferences folder. This folder is in your profile, and that depends on the OS. It is labeled Captivate 5.5. On my Win7 laptop it is in this path:
\Users\<your profile name>\Appdata\Local\Adobe
You can safely delete the whole folder Captivate 5.5 there (beware: it is a system folder so you may have to tweak the Explorer settings because normally it is hidden). You will lose all customisations. When restarting Captivate a fresh folder with default settings will be created and there is a good chance that you get your Effects panel back.

Error loading Forms with WebUtil

Hi,
I've just tried the new Webutil kit for Forms and i've set up all the parameters but i keep getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundErrorException: com/jacob/com/comFailexception
I think my settings are ok, i follow the doc litterally but in certain case, it is not accurate. Exemple: The doc talk about a jacob.dll file in the webutil/lib directory. And there is only 1 template (webutiljini.html) file but in the doc they talk about 3 template file. Is the download file missing some files or my settings are not ok.
I try to run a Form from Form Builder and OC4J Forms Instance at first. When this will work, i will try on 9iAS.
Does somebody as this working?

Save the customizing
Step 2:
