Formatt textfield for time input

I have a form for inputing a event schedule and would like to
have the start and finish time textfields be formatted with a ":"
character to accept the time in the proper format I amusing ASP VBS
and would like to find a input mask to make the input easier for
the users like this 09:45 PM

Hi,
haven't done this before myself, but have a look at JFormattedTextField. The API gives some hints how to use it. Think it could be what you looking for.

  • Textfield for date input

    Hello,
    I would like to have a textfield so that the user can enter a date value in the form 21-Jan-2004 (only input that matches this pattern should be allowed). I know how to do this with a JSpinner but I need to do it with some kind of textfiled.
    Questions:
    (1) How can I achieve this?
    (2) How do I get the date into a date/calendar object? Do I have to parse the string manually and set the corresponding date/calendar values individually or is there some kind of document/model that returns a date/calendar object?

  • How can I run the report for different input values at the same time?

    Reports version: Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1
    Oracle version: Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0
    I want to run the same report for different input parameter values and spool each o/p to different file and ftp to a server. For this, as a first step, I am spooling different input values in to a file, reading those values through a loop and calling the report for that input values. Each report run/execution is taking 15 minutes. Total report execution is taking approximately 4 hours (assuming 16 different input values) to complete. So I have to wait 4 hours to see ALL outputs.
    I would like to run the report parallel for ALL the input values and I should be able to see the ALL outputs with in 15 or 16 minutes.
    In my shell script, I added & symbol at the end of the report call to start/run the job in the background. Due to this the control passed to the next step after the report call. At this place I have an ftp command to send the output file to a different server and it is giving error some thing like “o/p file is not available/created yet". This is due to the fact that report writer is NOT yet completely started/initiated or it is NOT completed the spooling.
    How can I run the report at the same time for all the input values and save the time?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kishore.

    Increase the number of server engines running right now it seems there is only one engine running ,increase it to 4 or 6
    and then atleast 4 or 6 reports will run simultaneously.
    For FTPing the output add to your sript to check whether it is locked and if not then only try to ftp .
    Also for more better functionality read the document (chapter 15 ) for 10g reports for its new fuinctionality.

  • Why does a digital indicator formatted for time & date add 16 hours to the input?

    I wire a digital indicator with a double precision value that is supposed to indicate an elapsed time. But the indicator (formatted for time and date, with the date inactive) always adds 16 hours to the wired input.
    This problem occurs even in a simple vi I wrote that only consists only of a constant wired to the indicator.
    Using LabView 6.0.2

    Labview interprets the number passed into an indicator formatted for date & time as seconds since Jan. 1st 1904. I'm assuming that since you're looking for elapsed time this is not what you're passing in. One thing that I've done is get the elapsed time in seconds and write a routine to convert that into whatever format you want.

  • Need Help waiting for user input.

    I've got a simple card game, which I've pretty much made all with swing. I have a JTextField and a JButton. I want the user to input a number into the textfield and the click the button which fires the action listener. This then takes the text and reads it and set a boolean hasBid to true. I don't want to program to continue until this has happened so I made an empty while(!hasBid) loop. The first time through, the program starts and stop until the user inputs something and click the button. The second time through, however, the whole window freezes. For somereason object aren't even being displayed which are displayed before this while loop. Without the while loop, everything runs fine, but the program won't stop to wait for input.
    So, my question pretty much is how can I get the program to stop for user input in a function which will be called multiple times. I don't want to use a JOptionPane or anyother pop-up box. If my way won't work, I'd really like to know of another way. Thanks for any help!

    you simply need to separate the functionality of your input object and the card game into two threads. as sanbingo said, running in a while loop prevents your GUI from even drawing its components.
    Remember: AWT/Swing is an event driven interface! so only events can/should cause some action to happen.
    i'd properly implement an event listener which is fired when the input is received. the listener is your game class which upon receipt of the event starts playing. when its done, its done, ie doesn't do anything until it receives an new event from your input object.

  • How to make Flash to wait for user input

    Hi,
    I found this PHP script, then I made some changes to make it
    FEED the Flash user interface with online user input.
    The main concept of this script is WAITING for user input, so
    it shows the messages and then go to next line and so on.
    The user input go to directly to TEXT file which writes in
    lines, each line has a unique id = (mag_id).
    There "get_msge.php" which works as the middleware between
    FLASH and messages text file.
    The problem, its doesn’t show any data while there are
    data in the text file.
    Help here please, best regards.
    This is the link of
    problem illustartion
    AS is:
    // create an object to store the variables
    varReceiver = new LoadVars();
    // load the variables from the text file
    varReceiver.load("get_msg.php?file_id=1&msg_id=1",
    "POST");
    // trigger something - when the variables finish loading
    varReceiver.onLoad = function(){
    //the variables have finished loading
    if (this.msg_id == 1) {
    _root.xmsg1_swf.text = this.msg;
    _root.xmsg1_ch.text = this.msg;
    gotoAndPlay("line2");
    } else {WAIT }
    PHP is:
    <?php
    //get these values from the FLASH
    $file_id_swf = $_POST ['file_id'];
    $file_name = "messages/messages".$file_id_swf.".txt";
    $msg_id_swf = $_POST ['msg_id'];
    // [0] ."||".[1] ."||".[2] ."||". [3] ."||".[4]."||". [5].
    //$msg_id."||".date."||".time."||".$from."||".$to."||".$msg.
    $fp = fopen ($file_name, 'rb');
    while (!feof ($fp))
    $msg_txt = fgets ($fp, 1024);
    $line = explode ("||", $msg_txt);
    $msg_id = $line[0];
    $from = $line[3];
    $to = $line[4];
    $msg = utf8_encode ($line[5]);
    if ($msg_id == $msg_id_swf)
    echo
    "msg_id=".$msg_id."&from=".$from."&to=".$to."&msg=".$msg;
    }//while
    fclose ($fp);
    ?>

    Well, given the things that you've written, I don't think it
    could. There technically isn't any code in flash that lets it
    "wait." In order to "wait," you must run the script over again
    until some condition is met.
    However, your code does look accurate. Why do you need to
    wait? The onLoad function will be invoked WHEN something is loaded.
    So, I don't see the reason for the "waiting."
    In addition to that, I would like to say that using text
    files isn't that great with flash. I have done this before and
    noticed several problems with using text files. The biggest problem
    is that the text files are cached after being loaded. Every time
    you re-load it again, you will get what you got the first time
    until you reset your cache (ie. close your browser). I suggest
    using MySQL. (Just my thought.)

    Depending on which soundcard you have there, but if your card is capable for
    ASIO -> activate I/O drivers on Sonar/Options/Audio/Drivers -tab (mic/line sources should be listed there --> activate) and select the mic or/and Line sources on tracks "I" - dialog
    WDM/KS -> use the Surround Mixer or windows recording controls for recording source selection (mic should be listed there)
    MME32 - > same w/ WDM/KS
    If you use Asio4All --> same w/ WDM/KS & MME32
    No mic and line source simultaenously w/ WDM/KS and MME32.
    You perhaps be able to do this w/ kX drivers.

    ADDED:
    You can also install modded version of Audigy 2 drivers/software but I have never done this w/ Li've! 5. so I can't be sure if you get ASIO support for your card.

  • How to set a specific time zone for time channel in DIADEM

    Hi,
    I'd like to know how to autmatically set a specific time zone for time channels in DIADEM.
    For example, I have stored data with corresponding time channel in UTC time on a disk which was collected in another time zone. Now I want to analyze this data and I want the time channel to show the local time in the time zone where the data was collected, and not the time in the local time zone where the computer is located.
    The time channel should also take site local summer/winter time into account. Now I'm running a script that handles it for me which adds or subtract hours according to my input. The problem is that I'm handling data from several different time zones and I'm not located in any of them and when you're running a lot of data over a greater time period, it's easy to make mistakes, especially when it comes to summer/winter time. Is there a any clever solution to this already implemented in Diadem that I have not found?

    Hi hj77,
    No, I'm sorry, DIAdem has no time zone functionality at all.  I'm afraid you have no choice in DIAdem but to keep running your scripts.  Summer and Winter time are truly tricky, because the rules for when the changes occur are different in different countries and states within countries and also can change from year to year within the SAME country (as they did in the US a few years ago).

  • Help needed for Time Calc Java Script

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a timesheet in PDF and have hit a speed bump. Is there anyone there who could provide me with a script that calculated the difference between 2 times? (Field2 time)-(Feild 1 Time) = Duration.I am desperate and have tried everything.
    I proccess the payroll for a company and all of the 500 or so timesheets that I received each fortnight are paper copies and I am pulling my hair out. I need to use Adobe forms (We have Adobe Pro 9 and I am using the XML forms, not live cycle) as the serach engine that we use for emails cannot search on excel documents.
    I have no Java script experience and I am getting completely lost in the subject. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks anyone who can help at all.

  • Tree-control for data input?

    Hi,
    I need to program an input screen for values that have hierarchical dependencies (e.g. sums). I feel, the most adequate user-interface would be a tree control, because of the data dependencies and also because the users asked for a possibility to collapse/expand parts of the data during input.
    I had a look at CL_GUI_COLUMN_TREE, but I'm not sure, if it can be used for data input. Has anyone done something like this before or can anybody direct me to some additional sample coding? (the sample coding in the reuse library didn't do it...)
    Thanks for your help, greetings, Kathrin!

    Hello Kathrin,
    Since you say that the user's input is hierarchical in nature, it is nice to have a tree-control for input. But, the choice of using a custom-control-version of the tree is a cause for some concern. I cannot recollect any of the SAP screens where the input can be given through such a tree framework (please do let me know if you have come across one). The problem with such a tree would be in the areas of even-handling. Filling the tree with appropriate data at the right times would be another challenge.
    However, there's one alternative that I would like to direct your attention to. You must have observed another kind of tree, when you select an application component from the APPLICATION HIERARCHY, which is just like a list. Also, the <i>Transport Organizer (SE09)</i>, <i>Menu Painter (SE41)</i> etc., have this kind of a tree. You can use this if you (or rather your users) are very particular on having a tree display. For more information, you can see the Function Group <b>SEUT</b>, which has the required function modules to accomplish the same. The Function Group is well documented, and you might have to work a little on the function modules themselves.
    Please do let me know if this is a suitable option to meet your requirement. All the best,
    Regards,
    Anand Mandalika.

  • Creating a mask for field input

    I have a cfinput that requires the serial number for a piece of equipment.  The number is always something like J123M456789 where the J or the M could be any letter and the 123 and 456789 could be any number that is 3/6 characters.  The code i am using for my input is as follows:
    <cfinput type="text" name="IDnumber" message="You must enter an 11 character meter number" mask="A999A999999" validateat="onSubmit" validate="maxlength" required="yes" class="SERIAL"id="IDnumber" maxlength="11" width="240" minlength="11">
    I am still able to enter any number, any which way i choose.
    Can anyone help?

    Woops, my bad
    Some of the validation is working.  It is forcing me to input a letter, 3 numbers, a letter and then numbers again.  The trouble is it will let me submit at any time.  In otherwords if I place 11 characters in the text field, they must be in the proper format however i cant get it to force me to enter exactly 11 characters.

  • Event handler for STDIN input?

    Hi,
    This question will probably require a bit of context - I'm attempting to re-implement in java an application that's currently written in perl. The application is a server helper app that rewriters urls; it receives a request ID and a URL on stdin, does the necessary munging (which can require an external SOAP query), then returns the resulting rewritten URL.
    Since the results can be asynchronous due to the need for external queries to build the result, this is currently a multithreaded perl app implemented using perl's POE framework to register an event handler for stdin. That handler fires each time a line of input is received, then feeds the query to a thread pool manager (POE::Component::Pool::Thread, which is conceptually similar to the Executor frameworks). The thread returns the result as a callback registered to another function in the main thread, which then populates the query/result to a cache then outputs the result (with the original query ID) on stdout. Since stdin input and the result callbacks are event-driven, there's no while(true) main loop or other blocking mechanism in the main thread. Unfortunately, it's perl-ness is causing problems due to perl's threading implementation (three words: "copy on init"), so we need to reimplement in a language with a more robust threading implementation (preferably one with copy-on-write for shared objects). So, Java it is.
    So far everything's been good - Executor, Callables, and Futures work as I hoped they would for proper thread management, and the internal worker thread logic (XML processing, SOAP, regular expressions, etc) is proving rather simple to adapt. However, the main roadblock I'm hitting is that so far, I have not found a way to register any sort of event handler for STDIN input (or more specifically, InputStreamReader/BufferedStreamReader events). This could be due to search engine pollution - everything I see when I search for documentation on event listeners appears to be GUI-specific (buttons, menus, text areas/forms, etc). I'm just looking for a way to handle a line of STDIN, not a text area on a form.
    Any pointers in the right direction will be much appreciated!

    rekoil wrote:
    Maybe I need to rethink the design here...
    The main reason I used a callback in the original perl is that there's a large cache structure that gets checked before the thread dispatch, and only cache misses get pushed to a thread for processing. Callbacks from the threads will then add its results to the cache. Thanks to perl's thread model, when I attempted to make the cache a shared structure - in perl, you have to explicitly mark as "shared" variables that you want visible to all threads - the structure wound up getting copied to every thread, and this gave the app an unacceptable memory footprint. So the solution was to use a callback in the main thread to update the cache.
    I'm now thinking that if Java's thread model is a bit saner (i.e. a shared object doesn't get copied into every thread), then I could just have each thread update the cache, print its output to STDOUT directly, and avoid the need for the callback. I can then make my input loop simply a while() loop, waiting for the next input to dispatch. Sound sane?Yes I think so.
    There is some of this I still don't entirely understand. Your loop sounds better now but it sounds to me like the process is this.
    1) read from in
    2) call some stuff on the basis of what came in
    3) do work
    4) workers produce things
    5) things written back out
    6) read back in??
    If you're just going in/out then great. If you are going in/out/in then maybe some sort of PipedInput/Output Streams? It may well be that I got lost in your explanation in which case never mind.

    INPUTS ARE resource_id (number)
    , submission_date (text)these inputs are passed in PLSQL Code and some of them in formula context
    2. While we define a new context for a time entry rule. How is the data that we enter in the time entry rule passed to the fast formula?See the time Rule entry screen and you will find the parameters window there.

  • Syndicating multiple Outputs for 1 Input file

    Hi SDners,
    When I am syndicating records output is splitting into 2 Files for 1 Input file.
    Example:- 10 records are there in Input file. While importing Import Manager Identifies 2 records as Duplicates and it will create only 8 records in MDM. While syndicating these 8 records are splitting into 2 output files. I want these 2 output files in 1 Output File.
    This is not happeneing everytime, Only some times. If I process the same file agian in MDM then it will syndicate in 1 Output file only.
    I configured Parameters like this:
    Suppress unchanged records=Yes
    Max Records per Output file=0
    XML File Output=Single File (All Records)
    and the PORT Map also like this
    "Processing type=Automatic"
    "Processing Interval=Continues".
    Still I facing the Same problem.
    Why it is happening only sometimes. If I configured the parametrs wrongly then it should syndicate everytime output into 2 file. But it is happening only once in a Week like that tooo 1 or 2 files only.
    MDM Version I am using is : SAP MDM 5.5 AP06 (5.5.63.71). Any help ASAP.
    Thanks
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
    Can you check the key mappings for the records .If you have multiple key mappings maintained and you have overridden the key mapping in the remote systems property then MDM will generate identical copies for each remote key
    Thanks

  • Date and Time Input Validation

    Anyone know a good way to validate date and time that a user is entering on the screen.  Our users want to enter AM and PM time vs. Military time.
    Also, since Input fields don't have an "onBlur" command, what are other companies using in java script.

    What type of DATE/TIME validation are you looking for?
    If you want to validate the format you could simply set the type to date/time and enable the dovalidate attribute to "TRUE".
    for getting onBlur, onChange, etc for your input field you can use bsp:findandreplace.
       <%
      tmp_string =`<input onBlur="javascript:yourjsfunction();"`.
          %>
          <bsp:findAndReplace find    = "<input"
                              replace = "<%= tmp_string %>" >
            <htmlb:inputField id        = "myInputField2"
                              value     = "12345"
                              alignment = "left" />
          </bsp:findAndReplace>

    Hope this helps.
