Formatting Parameter value

how can I format the size and font of the parameter when using the htp.p('Org:'||get_value(parameter_name)
Sincerely
CJ

Hi, CJ
Use HTML text formatting capabilities, e.g.
htp.p('<FONT STYLE="font-family:Tahoma; font-size:10pt; color:blue;">'||'your text here'||'</FONT>');

  • Format parameter value(s) entered

    Cr10 Dev
    I have a discreate string parameter that a user can enter in a single value or enter in more than 1 value.  If they enter more than 1 I have them place a comma after each for my delimeter.
    Single: A
    Multiple: A,P,SU
    What I am trying to accomplish is have each value encapsulated by parenthesis.
    Single: (A)
    Multiple: (A) (P) (SU)
    What I have so far is close, but not exact, it only does what I need if only 1 value is entered.
    [code]
    If Instr({?Attendance Codes},',') > 0
        Then '(' + Mid({?Attendance Codes},Instr({?Attendance Codes},',') + 1) + ')'
    Else {?Attendance Codes}
    [/code]
    Thank,
    GJ

    Hi GJ,
    If i understood your issue exactly, This code will solve that,
    Local NumberVar i;
    stringvar result;
    Stringvar Attendance:={?Attendance Codes};
    stringvar array TempArray:= split(Attendance,",");
    Local NumberVar size:= ubound(TempArray);
    For i := 1 To size Do
    result:= result + '('+ TempArray<i> + ') ';
    result;
    Regards,
    Salah.

  • Display Multiple Parameter Values in Specific Format

    In CR XI, I have a string parameter that allows single and multiple values.
    Values are Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4
    Iu2019m still a newbie at Crystal and canu2019t figure out how to display the parameter values in the report header in a specific way. Join({?ward},",") works fine to show the values selected, but the format is awkward.
    Would love to hear any suggestions on a formula that will display the parameter values in the header as follows:
    For a single parameter value:     Ward 1
    For two parameter values:     Wards 1 and 2
    For three parameter values:     Wards 1, 2 and 3
    If all four values are selected:     All Wards
    Hope I made my question clear, and thanks in advance!

    Thank you so much for your response; it does work, at least partially.Certainly is pointing me in the right direction.
    Is it possible to modify the case statement to add more arguments? I tried, but it didn't work correctly, although that is likely user error.
    For instance, if selecting a single value, it could any of the wards, not just Ward 1. And multiple values could be Wards 2 and 3, or Wards 1 and 4, or Wards 2, 3 and 4. There are at least a dozen different possibilities, and I need a formula  or case statement to account for all those possibilities.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 Additional parameter values are needed

    I recently upgraded to Crystal Reports 2008 SP3, and now when I try an export a report from the Crystal Reports Designer, I get the error "Additional parameter values are needed before this report can be saved or viewed with data.  Click 'Ok' to enter the missing values or 'Cancel' to proceed without data".  I am trying to export the report to Crystal Reports format.  The report is getting data from a MS SQL 2005 stored proc. I tried building a new simple report (just took all the fields in the result set and put them in the details section) using the same stored proc, and get the same error when I try to export.
    FYI, before I try to export I always preview the data in the report, so the parameters are defiantly set correctly.
    This was working correctly in Crystal Reports 2008 SP2.

    Please re-post if this is still an issue or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly:

  • Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values

    Our company did a PeopleTools upgrade at one of our clients recently. We upgraded them to PeopleTools 8.50.08. We had to convert all the Crystal Reports to the 2008 format using the RPT converter which is included in the Client install of PeopleTools.
    The only problem now is that a lot of the Crystal processes in PeopleSoft are failing with the following error:
    Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values.
    I've checked the parameters which are being passed to the report and I see both parameters are filled:
    E:\HR881\BIN\CLIENT\WINX86\PSCRRUN.EXE -CTORACLE -CDHRMKPDEV -COPSDUT -CPOPRPSWD -I218609 -RP"PUP202K" -OT6 -OP"G:\PS\PSPRCS\log_output\HRMKPDEV\CRW_PUP202K_218609" -LGDUT -OF2 -ORIENTL "2000-10-01" "2002-06-30"
    Database type is Oracle. HRMS version is 8.8. I can run the Query which gets the data in just fine and I can also run the report from Crystal fine. This only happens with Crystal reports which have a date field as a parameter/prompt in the report.
    There's currently an SR open at Oracle, but I was hoping that someone here can help me nail this issue. I'm not too happy with the quallity of Oracle support, but that's a whole different story.

    <s>Just to be sure, did you put a space after each parameter name or is it a typo over here ?
    E:\HR881\BIN\CLIENT\WINX86\PSCRRUN.EXE -CT ORACLE -CD HRMKPDEV -CO PSDUT -CP OPRPSWD -I 218609 -RP "PUP202K" -OT 6 -OP "G:\PS\PSPRCS\log_output\HRMKPDEV\CRW_PUP202K_218609" -LG DUT -OF 2 -OR IENTL "2000-10-01" "2002-06-30"</s>
    Nicolas.
    sorry, it was wrong assumption.

  • CRVS2010 Beta - Missing parameter values

    I want to export my report to pdf file and I want to set some parameters in report in runtime.
    But when I try to do it I have exception "Missing parameter values".
    Productversion: Visual Studio 2010 + Crystal Report 2008 + service pack v3.
    I read that problem was resolved in service pack v2.
    But now I don't have any idea how to fix my problem.
    I create report and add parameters ("MyParameter") as string.
    My test project:

    Make sure you log on to the database, set the parameter, then export.

  • Missing Parameter Values - I'm not using parameters linking to sub

    I'm developing reports for use in an aspx environment using Visual Studio 2010 and CR 13.
    I have a main report and a subreport. Each report is linked to the database with a view that is connected to a dataset.
    When I place the subreport in the main report I edit the change links option and select identical fields from each report.
    When I run the code with the subreport commented out I get what I expect on the page.
    When I uncomment the subreport I get "Missing parameter values"
    Here's the code that I uncomment for the subreport. I've already checked to ensure that there is data in the dataset.
    mySection = CaseAssignmentRpt.ReportDefinition.Sections("dsCaseOffender")
    mySubObj = mySection.ReportObjects("srCaseOffender")
    mySubRep = mySubObj.OpenSubreport(mySubObj.SubreportName)
    mySubRep.SetDataSource(dsCaseAoffender)
    Do I need to do anything special to my dataset for the two fields to get linked?

    Hi Chris
    Nothing special needed - just making sure that the data is exactly what the report and subreport expect. It is quite typical for this issue to come up if the dataset contains date that is not as expected (e.g.; field formats (including nulls / spaces, etc, missing fields, and so on).

  • Missing parameter values on export

    Hi,
    I am using CR embedded edition 11.5.3.438 as the reports engine for a webapplication written in C# .NET framework 2.
    when i export a report to some formats (not rpt's) I get a "missing parameter values" exception.
    the code i use:
    private void ExportToMemory()
                   try
                        //export the report to the required format
                        //second param - reserved...
                        crystalBytes = crystalReport.PrintOutputController.Export(ConvertToCrysalExportFormat(format),0);
                   catch(Exception e)
                        //save this so it can be handled by the main thread
                        threadException = e;
    can anyone help?

    Hello, Dana;
    Are you passing the parameters to the ReportDocument object or to the Viewer?
    There is an article that may explain the issue [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_dev/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do].

  • How to hide/show a column in reports 10g according to the parameter value

    Hi,
    I want to hide a column in the report according to the parameter value, is it possible?
    For example, there is a parameter called P_TYPE. I want to hide a column called 'BALANCE' if the P_TYPE=0.
    This column is not the last one in the table, so if it is hide then that empty space should be occupied by next column.
    Is it possible means please explain me how to do it?
    Thanks in advance,
    SAN

    Create a format trigger (for both the header and the column item) that returns False on you condition.
    Set the horizontal elasticity to Contract (for both the header and the column item).
    Sometimes Contract doesn't work. Try Variable in that case. This has the disadvantage that the field can also expand.

    Can you clarify your scenario? Which is the case you're talking about?
    1) You want to pass a parameter from OmniPortlet to a PL/SQL procedure.
    2) You want to pass a parameter from a PL/SQL procedure to OmniPortlet.
    In both cases the most obvious way of doing it is through request (URL) parameters.
    Render a link in your portlet (either in OmniPortlet or using PL/SQL) that invokes a portal page, containing the other portlet.
    Both OmniPortlet and PL/SQL allow you to wire and access page parameters.
    Take a look at the Using Parameter and Events section of the Portal User's Guide and the Parameters and Events section of the Portal Developer's Guide.
    Hope this helps,

  • [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob function

    Hi,
    I am trying to insert an xml doc into a column of Oracle table which has a datatype CLOB in JSP. PFB my code that I am using --
    int id = 100;
    String st1 = "NEW";
    String st2 = "WLR3_IN_1";
    Date dt = new SimpleDateFormat("mm/dd/yyyy").parse("04/02/2008");
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:CST Server","xmluser","xmluser");
    String query = "INSERT INTO SEQ_API_MESSAGE_IN(SEQ_NO,MESSAGE_TEXT,STATUS,DIALECT,CREATED_TS) VALUES(?,?,?,?,?)";

  • Hide a column conditionally to parameter value

    Hi experts,
    I'm new to Discoverer and I'm working with Disco 10.1.2.3.
    I need to hide a column conditionally to a parameter value, and I'm turning around for time.
    I can't find how to do this.
    I have tried few things with Conditional Formatting but unsuccessfully.
    If someone could give me a clue....
    Thanks in advance
    Brice

    Thanks Rod for your answer.
    I'm really sad to know that we can't hide a column in Discoverer, which for me seems to be a basic thing for such a tool.
    A Decode could be a good idea but the fields I would like to show/hide are part of hierarchies,
    and after few try I have seen that if I applied function on a field which is part of a hierarchy,
    Disco doesn't show it as a Hierarchy (I cannot Drill).
    That's why I was searching to put my 3 hierarchies fields and then hide 2 of them conditionally to a parameter value.
    If someone have an idea ...
    Thanks again Rod,
    Brice

  • URL Reporting Time parameter value.

    We have installed Business objects XIR2 and one of our application uses URL reporting to call a crystal report. Parameter values are retrieved from the database and used in the url.  Reports that do not have a time parameter works fine.  Even though I pass the time parameter value Im still prompted for the value.  The format of the url I use is http://hostname/businessobjects/viewrpt.cwr?init=dhtml&apstoken=<token>&prompt0=02:02:20&prompt1=LOCCODE
    where prompt0 is of type par_time.  Could someone please help me with the correct format to use for parameter type time?

    Ted, I checked the prompt order and the prompt type and they are correct.  These reports are working fine on Crystal 9.  Also reports that do not have a time parameter works fine in Crystal 11. Its only when reports with time parameter are called Im prompted for a value to be entered in hh:mm:ss format although I tried passing the value in hh:mm:ss format and Time(hh, mm, ss) format in the url.  The report comes up fine after entering the value in hh:mm:ss value in the prompt.  I tried encoding the url but it didnt work.  If I encode the entire url Crystal prompts me to enter values for all parameters.

    I have session variables which will hold parameters needed to pass into the report.  The session variables are populated from controls on my webpage after an onclick event.  This even not only populates session, but also passes parameters to the report with the following code:
    ReportDocument report = new ReportDocument();
    Session["MapPathName"] = "./Reporting/CaseStudy.rpt";
    report.FileName = Server.MapPath(Session["MapPathName"].ToString());
    ParameterFields fields = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterFields();
    fields = report.ParameterFields;
    foreach (ParameterField field in fields)
          report.SetParameterValue(field.Name, Session[field.Name]);
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = report;
    This works great for reporting and is very extensible.  However, when clicking on the "Print" or "Export" buttons on the toolbar I get "Missing parameter values."  I attempted to export manually in code using the .ExportToStream function but I still get the error, "Missing parameter values."
    I received this error also in Refresh, Search, and Navigate functions.  This was corrected by calling a function that supplies the above code block to these functions.  However, I do not see any events for controlling the Print nor the Export events.
    QUESTION: How can I print or export a report when passing parameters using CrystalReportViewer?  Thanks in advance!

    There are no Export or Print events accessible for the viewer
    Since it sounds like you are creating the reportdocument object in your click event, the settings on this object become out of scope on successive postbacks executed by other events.
    to get around this without major changes, you can place your "report" object in session in this event and retrieve it from session on successive postbacks.  This should solve your problems around navigation, printing and exporting.  What you will need to do is check if the session object exists (usually in page_load or page_initialze) and if so, retrieve it from session and bind it to the viewer's reportsource.  If the session object does not exist, then do nothing (ie you have not clicked your button yet that retrieves the parameter values from session and loads the report).  Also, in your click event you can check if the report session object exists and if so, remove it so that it can be re-created with your new parameter values (ie i'm assuming the only time you want to set parameter values is in this event).
