  • Using dll in Java with JNI

    Dear Friends.
I have a dll which was developed in Visual Basic. If we use that in the VB code we can carry out certain methods.
My concern is: I want to use this dll in my java method. what all the methods that can be used in the VB should also be used in java method.
I know that this can be done using JNI, but please help me for getting starting, I am a bit new to this technology.
    thanks so much.
    Cheers,
    Lakshman

    Hi friends.
I have checked up with all the forums in this site and more. the registered dll file is sucessfully loaded in the my java file. i complied it and got my .h file...
until this point, i got everything correct. in all the articles i read, they have given an implementation in C/C++ fo the methods declared by including the header file.
but as per my requirement, i dont have my own implementations for any methods. I already have some methods in the dll which i want to call from the java program.
please give me your views on this..
    thanks.

  • WebUtil DLL files location with OAS v10.1.2.3 with Sun Java 1.5

Question about the future Client (under MS Vista) which works with OAS.
With MS Vista on the client, the certified versions are:-
-Clientside: Sun Java 1.5_10 and above
-OAS: v10.1.2.3 (apparently to be released in March 2008)
    See table and notes at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gr2/clientsod_forms10gr2.html
Our application uses Oracle Web Util 1.0.6.
When this first starts up the server attempts to copy three DLLs (jacob.dll JNIsharedstubs.dll d2kwut60.dll ) to a particular directory (eg c:\program files\oracle\J-Initiator 1.3.1.18\bin ).
This has been a problem for my company's infrastructure since that directory is not writeable for most end-users. We got round the problem by creating a script run just once by the end-user which placed the DLL files in position before application is first run. The application still tries so copy the files, and fails - but this does not matter.
In the MS Vista client envt we will have the Sun Java 1.5 client instead of the J-Initiator.
Is it clear into which directory those three DLL files will be placed with this new client-side setup?
    Thanks.

    Hello Jacob,
Oracle itself can fix the WebUtil issue with downloading DLLs to an appropriate location. However, there's more to running a Forms application on Vista - some of which Sun needs to find a solution for:
If Vista's User Account Control (UAC) feature is activated - which it is by default and which provides additional security compared to XP - Internet Explorer runs in protected mode, i.e. the iexplore.exe process is started with a LOW integrity level. In Vista every securable operating system "object" is assigned an integrity level - process, files, directories etc. each have an integrity level which can have the values low, normal / user, high / administrator or system. Every process started by a normal user will be assigned normal / user integrity level on process creation and thus is able to access all the files to which the user has access rights. The exception to the rule is Internet Explorer which is started with a low integrity level so if any malware / Javascript / IE extension takes control over Internet Explorer it cannot access any files or directories outside of its low integrity level "jail" because process with a lower integrity level aren't allowed to access any objects which have a higher integrity level. This means any program - including the Java plugin and any applet whether signed or not - which runs inside the iexplore.exe process cannot communicate with any process the user started (think about WebUtil's OLE2 to communicate with Office applications) and it cannot download any files to a user-specified directory (think of WebUtil's download features or even client_textio). Furthermore any processes you start e.g. through WebUtil's client_host command will inherit IE's low process integrity level and thus will not be able to do anything meaningful either. The same goes for your own DLLs which run within iexplore.exe.
Java 1.6 Update N will change the Java plugin architecture so that the Java runtime will execute in its own process with a normal / user integrity level and communicate with Internet Explorer via IPC instead of running within the internet explorer process. If you need more information look at the early access release of Update N:
    https://jdk6.dev.java.net/6uNea.html#Overview
I think it would help if you also opened an SR so Oracle support knows there are more customers waiting for a solution.
    Best regard
    Andreas

  • Problem registering CremePie.dll file

    Hi All,
I am working with signature capture in standard MAM. I am trying to run the standard signature capture functionality in PDA. I have deployed mamsignapplet.cab and
signaturecapture.cab files in side WEB-INF\signature folder.
In SAP Note 897289, I read that we need to register the some dll files in PDA, so that the browser will supports the applets in it.
Also in the same document it was mentioned like
For CrEme versions 3.25, 3.26 and 3.27a there is an acknowledged by NSICOM
bug as plug-in registration link contains wrong dll path for those
    versions. Copy/Paste both "Register/Unregister Plug-In" files from
\Windows\CrEme\Demos to your desktop with the help of ActiveSync, open both
dlls and change the existing line with the following
    \windows\regsvrce.exe \windows\creme\bin\CremePie.dll.
I have copied Register Plugin/Unregister Plugin files to my desktop and  tried to edit them. But they saved as shorcut and I could not edit them. I have checked the properties of that file. There file type is Shortcut and target is \windows\regsvrce.exe CremePie.dll.
Can any body please tell me how to edit this file or can we create this file.
    Regards
    Murthy

    Hi,
for that I use the software "total commander" from http://www.ghisler.com/ running directly on  the PDA. This gives me the ability to edit the file on the PDA.
Please see if REGSVRCE.EXE is available in your windows directory. Some verndors do not deliver that file, cause it is not supported as standard CE file. If this is the case, download the .NET SDK for CE. This installs the file on the PC in the WINCE500 directory - you can download it from there to the device then.
I hope this helps to solve the issue!
    Regards,
    Oliver

  • How do I open .dll files automatically with Adobe Reader through Firefox?

    Hi,
When I print eBay labels through Firefox, a .dll file is downloaded. This used to open automatically in Adobe Reader, but now it opens as a text document in TextEdit, so I have to manually open Adobe Reader, change options to show "all files", and then locate the .dll file and open it.
When I try to change the default application in Firefox preferences, I can't find anything with the content type "dll".
Is there a way to have Firefox automatically open .dll files with Adobe Reader?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    Steve

    That worked, thank you!
I quit out of Firefox, renamed the file like you said, restarted my computer, and restarted Firefox.
When I went to download a label, Firefox asked me which application to use, and I picked Adobe Reader. I also checked the box to make that the default. This automatically opened the file in AR, and then when I did it the next time it worked perfectly.
Again, thank you so much for your help with this - although it's just a bit of time here and there saved it really adds up!
    Take care!

  • Problem while compiling 'dll' files in Form Server..Urgent

    Hi!
I'm trying to compile the library(dll) in form server and getting a message that "can not open that file".At the same time able to compile 'fmb' files which is in the same directory.
    Could you please help me?
    Thank you,
    Denish

I am also working on Forte. Forte has an inbuilt Tomcat. You dont need to copy any files to any where in the file mount system. You need to specify the External / Internal Browser settings, So that when you try to execute it, the .jsp file can be displayed in the browser. I havent faced any problem as you said.

  • How to remove thousands of file called with the same name with just one number most of the other

I've created this thousands of file with a python script, and i've tried to delete all of them using another python script which uses while command and it does work but it's really too slow and my finder crashes. I can't delete all of them manually because it would take forever and from the terminal i don't know how to delete them. The files haven't got an extension and are in my user directory, so please if somebody knows something to do tell me. (sorry for my english)

Yes there is a way. Post back with the following information:
    1. With respect to your home directory, what is the exact folder that the files are in (ie, are they in the Documents folder, or in a subfolder within the Documents folder). What are the exact names (caps included) of these directories?
    2. What is the exact name scheme of the files? You mentioned they are incremented numerically, but what are the rest of the files' names (again, capitalization is important)?
With this information, there are several ways to approach the problem, which will basically be four steps to ensure you do not inadvertently remove files you wish to keep:
    1. Create a new folder to temporarily house the files.
    2. Issue a command to target the files by name and move them into a separate folder.
    3. Check the old parent folder to ensure nothing is missing, and optionally check the names of the moved items.
    4. Finally delete the contents of the temporary folder, along with the folder itself.
The specifics of these steps will depend on the names of the files and the folder that they are in, so provide as much information as you can about that, and we can work through the steps.

  • New to Applets: Problems wiht writing to files and with scroll panes.

Hi, I've recently graduated from university and so I have limited experience in java programming and I'm having some trouble with JApplets (this is the first time I've made one). I'm trying to make a simple program that will allow users to pick one of a few background images from a list (a list of jpanels within a scroll pane) then at the click of a button will output a CSS with the background tag set to the image location. This is for use on a microsoft sharepoint site where each user has a My-Sit area which I want to be customizable.
So far I've been creating this program as an application rather than a JApplet and just having another class that extends the JApplet Class which then displays the JFrame from the GUI Class. This initially didnt work because I was trying to add a window to a container so I kept programming it as an application until I got it working before trying to convert it to a JApplet. I solved the previous problem by changing my GUI class to extend JPanel instead of JFrame and it now displays correctly but with a coupe of issues.
Firstly the applet will not create/write to the CSS file. I read that applets couldnt read/write to the users file system but they could to their own. The file I wish to write to is kept on the same machine as the applet so I'm not sure why this isn't working.
Secondly the scroll panel is no longer working properly. This worked fine when I was still running the program as an application when the GUI still extended JFrame instead of JPanel (incidentally the program no longer runs as an application in this state) but now the scroll bar does not appear. This is a problem since I want the applet to remain the same size on the page even if I decide to add more backgrounds to the list. I tried setting the applet height/width to smaller values in the html file to see if the scroll bar would appear if the area was smaller than the GUI should be, but this just meant the bottom off the applet was cut off.
Could anyone offer any suggestion as to why these thigns arnt working and how to fix them? If necessary I can post my source code here. Thanks in advance.

Ok, well my program is made up of 4 classes, I hope this isnt too much to be posting. If any explaination is needed then I'll post that next. Theres lots of print lines scattered aroudn due to me trying to fix this and theres some stuff commented out from when the program used to be an application isntead of an applet.

  • FDK Problem: "Unsaved changes in file" dialog with MIFs

    Hi there
I have a problem saving MIF files using our FrameMaker API client.
After we have written out all our content, we're getting prompted to save unsaved changes in the .MIF file.
We're not sure whether to click yes here or not.
If we click yes, we then get a save dialog which prompts for a filename,
but has the default file extension set to .FM.
When you click "save", another message box appears telling me that I'm trying to save a
.MIF file in the .FM format and that is not allowed, and asks if I want to save it
    as .MIF.
Although this is an a mere annoyance for me, it's probably very confusing for
customers who use our software, and I'm not sure whats causing it.
I've tried to address it by modifying the default save parameters within the FAPI
    using this:
    F_PropValsT saveParams = F_ApiGetSaveDefaultParams();
    i = F_ApiGetPropIndex(&saveParams, FS_ModDateChanged);
    saveParams.val[i].propVal.u.ival = FV_DoOK;
Needless to say, it didn't work. I'm wondering is thee another approach I should
    be using?
    Thanks
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
I'm not clear if your software is saving the file automatically, or whether the user needs to do it after your process runs. And, I'm not really clear on what exactly you want to happen after your code runs.
I do think that any open MIF file (even if in binary format, after being opened in FM) will cause that prompt when you attempt to close it manually, even if you have made no changes since the last save. My thought is that FM simply looks at the file extension and generates that behavior accordingly.
A few options you have (may be more, once I understand the situation better):
    - Let the code close the file itself once it is done, using F_ApiClose(docId, FF_CLOSE_MODIFIED). This, of course, if the interactive user doesn't need to see it.
    - Use F_ApiNotification() and F_ApiNotify to hijack the save request and save the file as MIF automatically, which should allow you to avoid the second prompt.
    - Use notifications to hijack the document closure process itself, simply closing the doc upon request whether it has changes or not. Or, maybe you could add your own prompts. This would take consideration of whether you actually want to allow an interactive user to make changes after the code runs.
Just some ideas there. If you provide more info on what you want to happen after your code runs (presumably this is the translation thing), I might be able to help more.

  • Problem - Can't make phone calls with my new Tour 9630

I just bought a new phone - Tour 9630.  Its a brand new phone on Sprint.
Now I am in India using this phone on Vodafone and all the services are on, I can send and receive emails, texts, go to websites and download stuff BUT I cant make any calls from that phone.
Everytime I try making a call, it just disconnects after 2 seconds as if it was not registering anything.
    What I tried:
Change the mobile connection to GSM only and hard reset the phone - DID NOT WORK
I tried calling service provider who mentioned all my services are working fine
I tried changing the sim card on the new phone - DID NOT WORK
I used my Vodafone sim in another - Works fine but not on the new phone.
I called blackberry support at vodafone - they say I might have to update the OS, which does not sound as music to my ears because this a new phone.
I rebooted the phone million times - DID NOT WORK
I wiped the phone and reinstalled everything - DID NOT WORK
Checked and changed all the setting and tried making calls - DID NOT WORK
Anything you could do to please help me so that I can make phone calls will be highly appreciated.

My issue has been taken care of. It seems that Sprint has had an issue with the phone number prefix 238 in the 24151 zipcode. I ended up having to change my phone number and put my phone number under a new zipcode. It all works awesome again. Thanks.

  • How to fix corrupt dll files

    Hi,
    Happy New Year!
May it bring all of us, Good Health, Happiness, Harmony & Prosperity!
I will like to let you know that a few month back, I bought this S10-2 directly from Leveno, USA, but regrettably with in a a few days, I realized that this machine has the following problems:
    1) The "dll files" are corrupt, details are as follows:
    advpack.dll
    dnsapi.dll
    gdi32.dll
    msv1_0.dll
    2)  Power Options:  Control Panel / Power Options / Advance (Power buttons) has 3 options (default)
    a) When I close the lid of my portable computer : Stand by
Kindly note that when I do this my system enters the stand by mode but after an hour or two even when the lid is close position, it wakes up again which I feel is a mall function and need a fix.
I will also like you to know that as of date I have repeatedly restored the machine to Factory Settings with a hope to fix the above problems but in vain as such I thought of approaching this august forum not only to educate myself as to how the files got corrupt but also to find a permanent fix, if possible?
Since I am out of USA where warranty facility can't be availed, hence I do look forward to hearing from a guru, who can bail me out!
Thanking you in anticipation and may God bless you!
    Warm regards,
    Anwar

  • Dependency list in project shows 2 DLL files. What do I need to do when creating a stand-alone executable file to ensure that it is included?

When the executable that I created is run on a stand-alone machine, a search is instantly launched to locate the missing *.DLL files along with about 20 other sub vi files from an example vi file that I downloaded last week.  Once the exampe vi was open, I modified the block diagram and the front panel and then I resaved it with a new name.
The missing sub-vi files are the same files that I saw listed in the Dependencies list of the project along with the 2 DLL files.  This problem shouldn't be happening because I included the top level vi file that contains the sub-vi files into the source files list under the Start-Up VIs window of the application properties.  What needs to be done to make this stand-alone executabale complete?

OK...So it's not a simple as clicking the mountian icon  above and inserting the location of the picture file on my PC huh?  It works on my end just fine, but I understand you all don't see it.
I really don't understand why this is such a complicated process in this discussion forum, but your explanation isn't working for me.  SO, I'm going to write what I understand to be the proper procedure and you tell me if it's wrong.
Attach my image using the Browse button below.  That makes sense.  Done that.
Edit my post - Edit it?  How is typing this message in the window any different from editing my post???  Are you sugesting that I Edit As HTML(http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/post?board.id=170&message.reply_to_id=244152#) using the shortcut in the lower right hand side of the frame???  I not, please explain a different way.
I right clicked the adress in the window under the Attachment  heading below the lower left hand side of the frame, copied it and pasted it into the Script Prompt: dialog pop-up that appeared when I clicked on the mountain icon in the tools menu.  By the way,
Now I see my image in the post just before I sent it.
    Don't you see it now?
As for the DLL file - the ONLY way I can find the DLL file that I need is to refresh the dependencies list in my project.  As I explained in my previous posts, those two DLL files came with an example vi that i downloaded from the NI website last week and they must have been embedded inside of the example because I didn't create them myself and I've since resaed the original example vi as one that's been renamed by myself.  In doing so, I presume that the DLL file was inherited from the original example vi file to my own vi file.  However, that's clearly not the case because every time I run the executable file that I created with the renamed example vi file in my project, it immediately launches a searchfor the DLL files that it claims are missing!!!  SInce the DLL files are ONLY visible in the dependencies list, I can't transfer them to the Dynamic VI and Support files window in the Application Builder.  SO, I drag them up the Source Files tree in the Application Builder to the top of the tree where the Start-up vi is located and then I can move them to the Dynamic VI and Support Files window.  Those DLL files don't appaer inthe top level of the tree where the Start-up vi appears before I move it to the Start-up vi window of the Application Builder.  I'll try it again.

  • Usage of DLL (or .so) file with JNI

    Hello,
I have read the example at
    http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/jniexamp.html
    but I have one problem.
If I understood this example well, then I have to have access to the header file of my DLL file.
My problem is that I only have a compiled version of dll file from a 3rd party.
Is it possible to use JNI to call functions from it in JAVA?
Give me some hint please as I'm not very familiar with linking and other C stuff.
    Thanks.

    Right, I know that.
My question was rather: do I have to have the header file of the library?
Following the discussion from here for instance:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=52&threadID=596791
he says that he has dll, so, and .h. But I only have dll and .so.
    And that's really the question.
    Thanks.

  • Call a method with complex data type from a DLL file

    Hi,
I have a win32 API with a dll file, and I am trying to call some methods from it in the labview. To do this, I used the import library wizard, and everything is working as expected. The only problem which I have is with a method with complex data type as return type (a vector). According to this link, import library wizard can not import methods with complex data type.
The name of this method is this:   const std::vector< BlackfinInterfaces::Count > Counts ()
where Count is a structure defined as below:
    struct Count
       Count() : countTime(0) {}
       std::vector<unsigned long> countLines;
       time_t countTime;
It seems that I should manually use the Call Library Function Node. How can I configure parameters for the above method?

You cannot configure Call Library Function Node to call this function.  LabVIEW has no way to pass a C++ class such as vector to a DLL.

    Hello,
In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and protect users from unintentially damaging their Firefox, the option to disable JavaScript was removed from the Firefox Options window.
However, the option to disable JavaScript was not removed from Firefox entirely. You can still access it from about:config or by installing an add-on.
    '''about:config'''
    # In the address bar, type "about:config" (with no quotes), and press Enter.
    # Click "I'll be careful, I promise"
    # In the search bar, search for "javascript.enabled" (with no quotes).
    # Right click the result named "javascript.enabled" and click "Toggle". JavaScript is now disabled.
To Re-enable JavaScript, repeat these steps.
    '''Add-ons'''
You can alternatively install an add-on that lets you disable JavaScript, such as
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/ No-Script] (to disable JavaScript on a per page basis, as required)
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/quickjava/ QuickJava] (to easily disable and enable JavaScript, automatic loading of images, and other content)
Thank you and I hope this helps!
