Formatting with printing

We have a large report that combines several different layouts - a few pivot tables, a few narratives, and some static text - and quite a few fields - I am unsure of the number, but its probably at least 30-40. The original table has been removed. This particular report has an issue with the top 2/3 of the first page being whitespace when printed. I have not encountered this with any other report, but am unsure what about this report could be causing it. The PDF format download does not work correctly, so the only option is HTML.
Any assistance would be helpful.

It depends if you BAPI has any parameter for printing...
Check if your BAPI supports any..for printing..

  • Print out lists of formats with their settings

    I would like the ability to print out a complete list of paragraph, character, table, and cross-reference formats (with their settings) for inclusion in a local style guide.

    Julee,
    Those files were .zip files wrapped in 7zip wrappers - very strange. Any way, I've attached the MIF_munch here in a single .zip file.
    Note: the file is named Mif_munch.zip.txt to fool the upload file type restrictions. Just delete the .txt extension and unzip.
    It might take a few hours or so to clear the scanning queue.

    You can also turn off the automatic capitalization if you find it gets in the way too often:

  • How do I get System.out.format to print out doubles with the same precision

    Using the System.out.format, how do I print out the value of a double such that it looks exactly like it does if it were print from a System.out.println.
    For example, take the following code:
    double d = 12.48564734342343;
    System.out.format("d as format: %f\n", d);
    System.out.println("d as   sout: " + d);Running the code, I get:
    <font face="courier">
    d as format: 12.485647
    d as sout: 12.48564734342343
    </font>
    The precision of d has been lost.
    I could bump up the precision as follows:
    double d = 12.48564734342343;
    System.out.format("d as format: %.14f\n", d);
    System.out.println("d as   sout: " + d);That appears to work, I get:
    <font face="courier">
    d as format: 12.48564734342343
    d as sout: 12.48564734342343
    </font>
    However, that solution fails if d has a different precision, say 12.48. In that case I get:
    <font face="courier">
    d as format: 12.48000000000000
    d as sout: 12.48
    </font>
    So how do I get System.out.format to print out doubles with the same precision as System.out.println?
    Thanks..

    Interesting, but this is not what I am looking for...Your original question was "how do I print out the value of a double such that it looks exactly like it does if it were print from a System.out.println", and you've been told how to do that (although the pattern given by sabre may be a bit excessive - you should only need 15 '#'s).The initial phrase from my question was "Using the System.out.format, how do I..".
    It's worth remembering that, unlike the Format hierarchy, 'format()' is NOT native to Java. It's a convenience implementation of the 'printf()' and 'sprintf()' methods provided in C, and first appeared in Java 1.5. Those methods were designed to produced fixed-format output; 'println()' was not.Perhaps it is the case that this can't be done.
    Furthermore, Double.toString(), which is what is used by println() does not produce the same format in all cases; format("%.14f\n", d) does. TrySystem.out.println(1.8236473845783d);
    System.out.println(1823647384.5783d);and you'll see what I mean.I am fine with that. It still displays all the precision.
    I am simply looking for a way to quickly print out multiple variables on a sysout while debugging. I want it as syntactically sweet as possible. System.out.println can be a pain when outputting multiple variables like the following:
    "System.out.println("a: " + a + "; b:" + b + "; c: " + c);"
    For some reason, my fingers always typo the plus key.
    I was hoping that System.out.format would be easier,along the lines of:
    "System.out.format("a: %f, b: %f, c: %f\n", a, b, c);"
    From a syntactical sweetness point of view, it is easier. However, the %f on doubles truncates the precision. I figured there must be a way to get the full precision.
    DecimalFormat is syntactically sour for this purpose, as you need to instantiate the DecimalFormat.

  • I am using Firefox 11 and I am unable to print web pages. I can print PDFs ok. I tried to open the prefs.js file to delete anything that starts with print and I get an error message.

    I cannot print web pages. I've tried the solutions suggested like deleting anything that starts with print in the prefs.js file but I get an error message: Script: c:\users\rick\appdata\roading\mozilla\firefox\profiles\iviwh5c1.default\prefs.js
    line: 1
    Char: 1
    Error: invalid character
    code: 800A03F6
    Source: Microsoft JScript compilation error

    When editing '''prefs.js''' you need to use a simple text editor program. WinXP Notepad messes up the line formatting of prefs.js, so I use Wordpad - but you need to save the edited file in a Text-Only format (Wordpad asks about that when you go to save the edited file). I never used Win7, so I don't know if that version of Notepad messes with the line formatting of prefs.js or not.
    Another thing - make sure '''''"Hide extensions for known file types"''''' is de-delected in Windows file / folder options > view -> advanced settings. Otherwise Windows may add a .txt file extension that you won't be able to see, and that will break that file in Firefox. '''prefs.js.txt''' won't be recognized by Firefox, when is expecting to find '''''prefs.js''''' .

  • How to print to Canon irC5051 with Print Server?

    [edit] I am using 10.7.5 not 10.6.8 sorry [\edit]
    My company recently upgraded to Canon Image Runner C5051 units.
    They added print servers with authentication for follow me printing (print at any machine around the building by authenticating).
    I have read tons of discussions, forums and google articles on how to get image runners to print with os x - yet to no avail.
    I have downloaded both the recent drivers from canon (the PS and URII) updates.
    I can only seem to connect to the printer using the "Windows" domain feature in the add printer settings.
    The Windows URL is \\printARL\ARLC-Secure.
    I can ping the \\printARL and retrieve the IP address.  But I cannot do the same with the full path (\\printARL\ARLC-Secure)
    Trying to LDP print to the printARL ip does not work.  I have no way of figuring out the full path ip address of the print server.
    On my windows computer it shows "null" in the port/ip address on the PORTs tab.
    So with URII I cannot identify the LDP ip address to use so if I connect via the windows domain it keeps returning error -50.
    I guess this makes sense because its not LDP.
    Using the windows search to connect and applying the Canon 5051 PS driver it seems to function.
    It connects, allows to me authenticate, moves the file to the print server, and shows up at the printer.
    But when I print, it does nothing.  No output.  ...sometimes it even makes the sound like it is printing, but then no dice.
    If I try and Generic PS or PCL driver, it sends the document.
    But when I print, it seems to produce a paper format error (thinks it LGL)
    So if you force the printer to print to LTR, it spits out reems of giberish.
    There must be something I am missing.

    Sorry for missing your post. I don't check the 10.6 forums too often.
    Reading your post it sounds like your are using uniFLOW, which is the follow-me printing app. So if you want to continue using this with the Mac there are a few things to note.
    1. The Mac UFR2 driver wants to communicate directly with the copier. With print jobs being routed via the Windows print server (uniFLOW secure input queue) there is no chance of there being two-way communication and this often causes the -50 error you mention.
    The solution is to use the Canon PPD, but this would require the ADV C50xx to have the optional Postscript kit. And given the gibberish output you mention it would seem that this kit was not purchased. So I would be talking to the Canon rep. If they had scoped your business correctly and saw the Mac/s then the PS kit should have been ordered.
    2. You cannot ping the printer queue on the Windows server. So pinging \\printARL\ARLC-Secure won't work as you have found. But you can ping the Windows server, which you did and this worked. And, your issue is not due to an inability to connect to the Windows queue. It is a driver issue.
    3. Using the PS driver appears to work. Lets you authentice but does not print. This is due to the lack of the Postscript kit in the copier.
    4. Re the Generic PS, no PS kit means no printing. And the same goes for PCL.
    So, in summary. The UFR2 driver is not designed to print via a Windows server. For your setup, the Postscript kit in the copier would solve your issue.

  • How can i create a printable format with Java

    Hello....

The program shows the data from the database and you can do something with these data. Now my problem to print this data. I want create a formular which will be print! I've treid ut with docbook and the javax.print library.
    The first problem is: with linux docbook works very fine. I transform the sgml-file in many formats with "db2pdf or db2ps......"
    but the javax.print library don't find any printservice! I've J2EE 1.4.1 where the bug canceld from the earlier version!
    So the next problem is: with windows the javax.print library works fine! I find the printservices and can print *.ps or *.pdf! But i can't transform the sgml-file in Postscipt or PDF!
    I've tried to solve this problem for two weeks now, but without any success.
    Now my Question is: have somebody experiences with this problem and can help me or is there another possibility to solve my problem!!!

  • Problem with printing a PDF

    Hi All,
    I'm developing a web application written in J2EE that uses Java Reporting Component (JRC) to display crystal reports from some filters recovered from a jsp and passed to a report .rpt previously designed and invoked just at runtime.
    I have a problem with printing a PDF:
    I want, after entering the filters in a jsp, to print a report in PDF format (WORD) without opening it
    with Adobe Reader (Microsoft Word). The class of API JRC used for export is ReportExportControl.
    Can anyone help me?
    I wish a great day to You all.

    Hi Ted Ueda,
    sorry for the delay of my answer.
    I understand very well the problems related to security.
    With the following code that I used to produce a report (PDF) at runtime,
    is the PDF created on the server and then sent to the client, or is it directly created on the client as PDF
    from RTF previously realized?
    ReportExportControl exportControl = new ReportExportControl();
    String report = report path;
    ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
    reportClientDoc.open(report, OpenReportOptions._openAsReadOnly);
    Object reportSource = null;
    reportSource = reportClientDoc.getReportSource();
    //The method setConnectionProperties() stores all the connection parameters in the collection
    //ConnectioInfos
    ConnectionInfos connInfos = setConnectionProperties(request, reportClientDoc);
    exportControl.setEnableLogonPrompt(false);
    exportControl.setEnableParameterPrompt(false);
    exportControl.setReportSource(reportSource);
    exportControl.setDatabaseLogonInfos(connInfos);
    //Single method to pass parameters to Crystal Reports. Using classes ParameterFieldController and
    //ParameterFieldDiscreteValue
    setReportParametersValue(reportClientDoc, reportParameters, subReportParameters);
    ExportOptions exportOptions = new ExportOptions();
    //Set the export format (PDF)
    exportOptions.setExportFormatType(ReportExportFormat.PDF);
    PDFExportFormatOptions PDFExpOpts = new PDFExportFormatOptions();
    exportOptions.setFormatOptions(PDFExpOpts);
    exportControl.setExportOptions(exportOptions);
    exportControl.setExportAsAttachment(true);
    try {
          exportControl.getHtmlContent(request, response, getServletConfig().getServletContext());
    } catch (ReportSDKExceptionBase e) {
    throw new ApplicationException("error code", ": error message"); }
    As, however, I predicted in my previous message about the direct printing on the client,
    I read about ActiveX, but I don't know how to use them.
    I read this information in the 'Crystal Reports for Eclipse Developer Guide' about "printMode" attribute:
    "In ActiveX print mode, an ActiveX control is downloaded to the client machine and the report is send directly to the printer...."
    The ActiveX alternative is a java applet that runs on the client and takes the pdf from the server and prints directly onto the clients through the commands that I used in the DOS command line:
    1)     AcroRd32.exe /p /h FILENAME
    where
    /p = print
    /h = hide window
    to print the report and
    2)     tkill AcroRd32
    to close Adobe Reader, because it doesn't end automatically after printing and the command  /h  is used just to minimize the process.
    I hope you can give me advice because I need to print directly on the client. Thank you

  • Problems with printing from SQL Developer Data Modeler 2.0

    Hi,
    I am not able to print my Relational Model (SubView) from Data Modeler 2.0 Build 584. Only an empty page comes out. If I don't reduce the Print Scale (usually to 10-30%) I get something but then it is lots of pages. I have tried A4 and A3 format. Printing to JPEG or PDF seems to be ok.
    I have relational data model with 25 tables in my SubView.
    Is there any restriction on Print Scale or number of objects in the diagram?
    Do I have to install SQL Developer as well? I have just Data Modeler insalled.

  • How does one print to a Large Format Network Printer in Adobe Reader X?

    I have just installed Adobe Reader X on a machine that previously had Adobe Reader 9 (I had to format the hard drive so this is a fresh installation).  When attempting to print to a large format Printer (36x24) across the network I cannot change the paper size.  Despite attempting to change the paper size to a number of different configurations Adobe X will not print anything but 8.5"x11.0" (which is the default paper size on the local printer).  I have tried making the network printer the default printer and that does not make any difference.  Everything worked fine with Adobe Reader 9 but not X.  Can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Also, I can print to both the local printer and the large format network printer fine through other applications.
    Thanks.
    Ben

    Just finished testing 10.10 printing via a Windows 2008 R2 print share. I also found that when trying to add the printer using CUPS I would get an authentication error. But if I added the printer using the Windows section of the Add printer pane, then I was able to print fine.
    So with you mentioning that using the Windows section of the Add printer window has never worked (which is interesting because it's always worked for me) I want to suggest another approach to adding the printer, still using the Add printer window. With this window open you can right-click on the toolbar and select Customize Toolbar. You can then drag the Advanced icon to the toolbar. Then when you select this, you can set the Type menu to "Windows via spoolss" and then enter the URL as smb://servername/sharename. Select the supporting driver and click Add to complete.
    Then when you select to print for the first time using this printer you will be prompted to authenticate. Enter the account details, set the save to Keychain option and OK to send the print job.
    This worked fine for me and creates the same queue as using the Windows add printer setting. Curious to hear if this gets your co-worker printing again.

  • Problem with printing amounts in SAP Script

    Hello All,
    I have multiple line items to be printed in which one of the column contains amount value. I have a problem printing amount value aligning it to the right of the column.
    The amount is printed as below
    1.202,00
    18.202,00
    19.202,00
    I want to print 1.202,00 right justified so that it would be aligned to the other amount values.
    Pls help me out.

    Sorry:-)
    if you define the line format with the name RJ(right justified) you must use this like follow.
    RJ|     &12334,11&
    and not
    <br>&12345,11& </>
    now is that clear?? is hard to explain

    Hello,
    If you print an invoice, the print program RLB_INVOICE usually reads the country of the customer.
    This is the reason why the decimal notation is not correct.
    See please the T-code OY01 also.
    This is the standard customising of SD. A customer from country e.g. OMAN (OM)
    gets number like 332.500,00 and a customer from GB gets 332,500.00.
    If you really need to modify the decimal format, you can add the command SET COUNTRY 'EN' in
    your Smartforms. So the effect of a change of the decimal format is a cosmetic one only.
    Via debug you can change  the value of the field IT_HD_GEN-DLV_LAND to EN.
    Check the following code part in include RLB_INVOICE_FORM01 sample code:
    get delivery land
      PERFORM GET_DLV-LAND USING    CS_BIL_INVOICE-HD_GEN
                           CHANGING CS_DLV-LAND.
    CS_DLV-LAND = OM.

  • I am looking for a new wide format desktop printer

    After I upgraded to the new imac last year, my HP deskjet 9680 with rip software was no longer compatible with the os.  I need a new printer which prints good quality wide format color prints which is compatible with adobe illustrator, and photoshop CS2-CS4.  Any suggestions?

    That's what wasn't real clear to me, I think Leopard had updated "drivers" and perhaps, not sure, firmware which is what I was interested in.  I do not know that much about the Photosmart 8850.  A few weeks ago my Designjet 10ps died and required about $500.00 to fix.  That's a lot to swallow, so I looked into a replacement.  The HP Photosmart Pro B9180 that I mentioned has a built-in calibration system which, if you are a photo printer, should be enough to get great photographs out of the box.  However, because I need a proofer, the Efi RIP looks like a good companion for color matching.  Unfortunately, it's going to set you and/or me back a grand.  I don't see why the HP Photosmart 8850 wouldn't be a bad choice if you are planning for photographic printing, but if you need accurate color matching, step up to  the Pro B9180.  Epson has a nice 13x19 which combined with the ColorBurst RIP will deliver impressively.  I can't recall the model, something like Epson 3800 Pro.  The Epson might be a few dollars more, but either one will deliver nice results.

  • PSE 11 - How save image with printer color profile?

    I use an outside service to make prints. How can I save an image in PSE 11 in either TIFF or JPEG format with the color profile for the outside lab's printer? Thanks.

    You can print a photo using the correct printer profile for the lab printer. In the print dialog box , go to "Page Option>Color Management" and then choose Color Handling as "Photoshop Managers color". Now click the printer profile dropdown and choose the profile for your lab printer. If you are not able to find the profile for you printer  then choose "Printer Manages Color"
    To your second question the answer is that you cannot save the image with the correct colors for printing. You can only convert the profile of your image to Adobe RGB which matches gamut of most printer profiles using "Image Menu>Convert Color Profile and choose Adobe RGB.
