Forms 6i Database Tables

Hi there: I have installed Forms 6i Database Tables and I am able to save and retrieve forms to and from the database. Any of you have the catalog of these Forms Tables? Do you the names of the tables storing blocks, canvas, items, etc?
In Forms4.5 it is very easy because I have a table for blocks and for many other items of the form, but it seems to be hidden in forms 6i.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

I don't think there is any description of the tables other than what you can get from the CREATE TABLE scripts.
PS. Are you sure you still want to go the route of storing the Forms in the database. Be advised that this feature was dropped from later versions. So if you're ever going to upgrade to a later version you will have to extract all of them from the database anyhow.
PS2. If you want to "analyze" the Forms, I personally use the Forms to XML conversion available in Forms 10gR1, 10gR2 (and perhaps 9i). This converts your FMB to a very readable XML file which you can use for analysis. It could be an option to convert the 6i FMB file to XML with a newer version of Oracle Forms. Be sure that the batch file does not save the existing FMB as it would upgrade it to a new file format and you could not open it with Forms 6i any more. Take a backup first.

  • Fill pdf form from database table

    I am working on small application for my employer. We have record fo all new employee in table and want to fill PDF (I-9) from database using APEX application.
    Below PDF form, we want to fill from database table.
    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-9.pdf
    I am not sure how to take from APEX. Any ideas?
    I know one way to export from database table and import to PDF form.
    Is there any other way?
    Thanks

    If I understand you correctly then I need to first export the xml file using Data-> Load sample XML data and later create template in template.rtf and upload data using APEX in template. In this case I need to create rtf template exactly similar to http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-9.pdf.
    I am not sure is there any way to to used existing pdf template or save pdf template to rtf template. Later that template can be used to populate data using APEX.

  • Help on fetching values form the Database Tables

    Hi,
    I am working on fetching the values from the Oracle base tables.
    First the order will be submitted by the customer. Depending on the city name he mentioned I need to route the order details to two different queues.
    For example if I(customer) insert a list of values(order details) to a table name "X" with the with city name as "San Jose" I need to fetch the values from this table "X" and route them to a Queue"A".
    And again if I insert a list of values to a table name "X" with the with city name as "Milpitas" I need to fetch the values from the table "X" and route them to a Queue"B".
    How do I do this in ESB. I know how to use Database adapter and MQ adapter to create connections between Table and queue.
    Can any one help me on this.
    Thanks
    Ramana.

    Hi Ramana,
    Your use case may be implemented using Oracle ESB like this:
    - Specify a database adapter for reading from DB, your table X. Select an appropriate polling strategy for this. When you finish the wizard, you should have a DB service and get a Routing Service (RS) "for free". The DB service should already be wired to the RS.
    - Specify queuing services add appropriate routing rules with filters (that are based on the message content) and message transformations in your RS in order to route data to the queue of your choice.

  • How to fetch the customer debit balances form the KNC1 database table

    Hi Experts,
    I am creating a ABAP report which would dispaly the customer credit balances for the currenct fiscal year.
    I am fetching the values form KNC1 database table.....But in this table values are stored year wise.
    But I want to display for the current fiscal year that means if teh user selects the 07/2011 as the month on the sleection screen then the debit balances from 072010 to 062011 should be dispalyed.
    Could anyone please help me out to fetch this the debit balaces form KNC1 database table in the above format.
    Or is there any other way to solve this problem?
    Awating your urgent reply.
    Many Thanks,
    Komal.

    Hi Komal,
    First, you have to compute the initial period and the final period.
    Next, you must read table KNC1 for the years comprised between these two periods.
    Last, you must read the fields of table KNC1. For that, you should compose dynamically the name of the field, and then ASSIGN it to a FIELD-SYMBOL.
    Now, just add up the values!
    Please try the following code:
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs>.
    DATA: t_knc1 TYPE TABLE OF knc1 WITH HEADER LINE.
    DATA: d_debits LIKE knc1-um01s.
    PARAMETERS: p_kunnr LIKE knc1-kunnr,

    DATA: l_period(2) TYPE n.

        WHERE kunnr = p_kunnr
          AND bukrs = p_bukrs
          AND gjahr BETWEEN l_date_from(4) AND l_date_to(4).

  • Create database table using Forms Developer 6/6i

    Happy New Year everyone,
    I hope your New Year is a happy one.
    Listen, I am trying to create tables in Forme Builders without using SQL*Plus but it won't create the table in the database because I believe that the table it is created as a control block not as a data block.
    Can someone help me on this my email is [email protected] your help is appreciated.

    I'm not sure I understand your question.
    If you want to create a table in the database, you need to use the Database Objects node. If you do it in the block node, then you are creating a block in the Form, not a table in the database.

  • Adobe Forms - Table control data Saved in Database table through Web Dynpro

    Hello Friends,
    I Am facing a Problem in Adobe Forms through Web Dynpro.
    i Want to Make Interactive online Adobe Forms - In Table Control user enter the multiple entry in the table control and after that Click on SAVE button , entry will saved in Database table.
    Please guide me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Gaurav.

    Hi Gaurabh,
    For interactive form you have to check the property DisplayType = native and PdfSource should be a Context Attribute of type 'Xstring'.
    For data retrieval, create a NODE and have all the required attributes within that node of AOBE form.
    Fetch the data in WDDOINIT.
    Also check, that the offline senario for this form is working.
    Hope it helps you.

    We are using Visual Studio 2012 C++ and have successfully connected to the database on Azure, but do no know how to associate the database tables and fields with the C++ application data entry forms.  Can anyone help?  Thanks

    Hello Roxanne,
    You could use Entity framework to map classes to Azure tables. Please refer http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/363040/An-Introduction-to-Entity-Framework-for-Absolute-B to

    Edited by: yasser_egypt on Nov 22, 2012 6:43 AM

    Hello Yasser
    It seems good to hear about your first isseu.
    for the second isseu i didn't try to it before but i think it can be done .
    but let us think about the previous code fro inserting images in blob .
    when i added a message with the filename it appears the path like that
    DECLARE
    filename VARCHAR2(256);
    BEGIN
    filename := GET_FILE_NAME (File_Filter => 'jpg (*.jpg)|*.*|');
    READ_IMAGE_FILE(filename, 'jpg', 'IMAGE6');
    MESSAGE(filename);MESSAGE(filename); ---- = D:\KHALED_WORK\hr_demo\pic.jpg
    END;
    so i think if you tried to
    1- create 2 temp table
    FIRST one 2 columns holding the images path and you record id x_temp
    second 2 columns holding the image blob and you record id x_temp2
    2- creat an update form on the x_temp2 contains
    1- image
    2- your id pk
    3- two push_button
    3- the push putton should be like cursor loop at the temp table and updates your image table.
    like
    declare
    cursor pic is
    select p_path , p_id from x_temp;
    begin
    for i in pic loop
    READ_IMAGE_FILE(p_path, 'jpg', 'IMAGE6');
    record_id := i.p_id;
    commit;
    next_record;
    end loop;
    end;
    4- the second push putton updates the main table from the x_temp2 where id = id
    i think that senario should work like that
    try it and hope it works
    Respectfully

  • APEX  How do I create a Form based on a Database Table from other schema

    My APEX schema is WISEXP. I have a database table that resides in WISDW schema on the same database. I want to create Tabular form based on this table.
    I am not able to create a FORM based on the table from WISDW schema. I am able to create a FORM based on SQL though from this table in WISDW schema - but it does not do any action on Update/Insert rows.
    Appropriate Synonyms and grants are created. Is there a limitation or am I missing something? Please advise.
    thanks
    Rupen

    If Rupen is using 2.2 or 2.2.1, it is likely he is running into the bug described here: Re: Workspace to Schema Assignments
    In that case, it may be a necessary and sufficient workaround to assign the foreign schema to the workspace.

  • Appending database tables to a form for reference

    Hi Guys,
    I would like to create a form that refers to database tables (not big). I would like to embed these tables in my form so that each form can be referenced directly.
    Can someone point me to any tutorials explaining this or point me to an example?
    Thanks

    I don't think that's the sort of thing PDFGenerator would do. What

  • Browse and update database tables

    I'm looking for a tool that will let me connect to an Oracle database, select a table and some fields off the table and build a simple java class to navigate / update the data.
    Essentially, I'm looking for a tool that replicates the way Microsoft Access can build a form for navigation and update of a database table.
    However, I want to use java, not MS Access.
    Any ideas if such a tool is available ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    After displaying ALV report output, if you want to update database table based on your selected record, then use the below logic in your User_command subroutine.
    You will get the index of the selected record in rs_selfield-tabindex. using this index read the respective record from the internal table and move corresponding field to the table fields and then update.
    data : wa_data like t_data.
    read table t_data index rs_selfield-tabindex into wa_data.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
       move-corresponding wa_data to ztable.
       insert ztable.
    endif.
    thanks,
    sksingh

  • No data found error on Form on a Table with report

    Hi Everyone, I'm using Application Express 4.1.0.00.32 on Windows 7. I built a Form on a table with report. Earlier I was using rowid as a passing parameter but then I had to change it to primary key column from report to form.
    So in the "Fetch row process" I changed the "Items containing primary key value" and "Primary Key column" to P1004_PERSON_ID and PERSON_ID respectively. Which is my primary key.
    My Form is working exactly fine but at on point it throws "no data found error".
    I have a required date field in the form. So if the user doesn't fill in the date field and try to save the form, it throws the "Feild required error" and then when user enters date and try to save then it throws the error "No data found.". here is the snapshot... snapshot
    How can I fix this error.I'm really stuck.
    I checked debubber..it is as follows... in debughger it's still showing rowid. I don't know why. How can I fix that.

  • How do I copy recordsets from one database table to another?

    I am using the Database Connectivity Toolset, and would like to copy either one recordset or multiple recordsets from one Access table to a table in a different database. I would like to do it directly with the data in variant form, but I can't get it to work. I can get it to work(on a small test table) if I first convert my source variant data to a cluster, then insert that into the other database table. My real database has many items with a variety of date types. Can I copy directly variant to variant?

    Is it necessary to read all the data back into LabVIEW first? The reason I'm asking is that it is much more efficient to just use SQL statements to get the data you need and write that directly to the second database. I did a quick Google search on it and came up with lots of responses on what the correct syntax is for setting that up. Using an SQL command to copy the data back and forth is analogous to copying data from one file to another using the Copy file function rather than reading the entire contents of the file, converting the file string to the data arrays, converting back to a string, and then writing it back to another file.
    Chapter 5 of the Database Connectivity Toolset User Manual describes how to execute SQL queries.
    If you do need to actually
    see the data in LabVIEW first, then the only way to get it back into the other database is to convert those variants to LV datatypes and then cluster those values again and write them back out to the second database.

  • How to count and display the number of records in a database table

    My webpage has a list of items and their details, every item has a button
    Read / Make comments that loads the item in its own page displaying
    a comments form and previous comments.
    This is all working fine.
    I would like to add to each item information stating how many comments have
    been made about that item.
    Allowing the user to see before hand if it is worth while clicking on the
    Read / Make comments button.
    Ideally each item will have a different number of comments.
    The problem I have is outputing the number of comments associated with each item.
    My comments table is called guest my items table is called titles.
    I'm sure mysql statement is correct -
    The table guest currently has 7 comments,
    Item 1 has 3 comments
    Item 2 has 2 comments
    Item 3 has 1 comment
    Item 4 has 1 comment
    When I test the query in dreamweaver
    $Recordset1 = "SELECT COUNT(guest.software_id) as COUNT, titles.id FROM titles LEFT JOIN guest ON titles.id = guest.software_id GROUP BY guest.software_id";
    the outoput is a list showing 2, 3, 1, 1
    My problem is, getting the totals into my repeat region.
    I tried the following line
    <td align="left" valign="top" bgcolor="#e5f8cb">Current comments:<?php echo $row_Recordset1['COUNT']; ?></td>
    resulting in all comments so far displaying 0
    I have highlighted in bold the parts that I am having difficulty with.

    $Recordset1 = mysql_query($query_Recordset1, $abe) or die(mysql_error());
    $row_Recordset1 = mysql_fetch_assoc($Recordset1);
    $totalRows_Recordset1 = mysql_num_rows($Recordset1);
    $row_Recordset1 = mysql_query($query_Recordset1) or die(mysql_error());
    <td>Current comments:<?php
    if($row_Recordset1)
    while($row = mysql_fetch_array($row_Recordset1))
    echo $row['COUNT'];
    } ?></td>
    The first item now displays the following,
    comments:2311000000000000000000000000000
    all others
    comments:
    the number matched the database table exactly, 30 records 4 of which have 2, 3, 1, 1 comments.
    It looks as if the problem is trying to get the repeat region to pick up on it!
