Forms 6i: Dynamically attach/detach LOV

Hi,
Is there a way to dynamically attach or detach an LOV to an item at run-time?
Thanks.

Yes. you are right. I thought about set the lov_name to null but
I only looked the help says
"LOV_NAME Specify the VARCHAR2 name of an LOV to be associated with the given item. If the LOV name does not exist, you will get an error message. "
but did not do my own test.

    Thanks avajain for reply,
    I can create new lov and attach it with item. But i want to call same API or LOV which is called from Purchasing-->requisition-->Item . Where from you select Item Class, Sub Class, serial.

  • Can you dynamically change an LOV on the parameter form based on other params?

    Can you dynamically change an LOV on the parameter form based on other parameters? For example, based on a entered purchase order number, create an LOV of the purchase order lines that belong to the entered PO #.

    Hi
    Accouding to my knoledge you can't do it.
    If you want to build lov for that particular
    value, you can do it in Forms.

  • Attaching/Detaching libraries with Java API

    Hello,
    In my forms (Forms10g), sometimes, libraries had been attached in lower case although files are in upper case. This causes compilation errors on UNIX systems.
    I'm trying to detach these libraries with Java APIs and then reattach them in upper case.
    But I get an error when I want to save the module.
    Here is my code :
    public class UpperPll {
         public UpperPll (String formName) {
              try
                   FormModule form = FormModule.open("C:/AttachPll/" + formName);
                   System.out.println("Form Name is " + form.getName());
                   JdapiIterator AttachPll = form.getAttachedLibraries();
                   while(AttachPll.hasNext())
                        try
                             JdapiObject jo = (JdapiObject)AttachPll.next();
                             System.out.println(jo.getName());
                             if (jo.getName().toLowerCase().equals(jo.getName()))
                                  AttachedLibrary.find(form,jo.getName().toUpperCase()).detach();
                                  System.out.println(jo.getName().toUpperCase());
                                  new AttachedLibrary(form,jo.getName().toUpperCase());
                        catch (JdapiIllegalStateException jdise)
                             jdise.printStackTrace();
                   form.save("C:/AttachPll/New/" + form.getName() + ".fmb");
                   Jdapi.shutdown();
              catch (JdapiException jde)
                   jde.printStackTrace();
         public static void main (String[] args) {
              try {
                   FileReader r = new FileReader( "C:/AttachPll/listemodule.txt" );
                   BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader( r );
                   try {
                        String module;
                        while ( ( module = br.readLine() ) != null ) {
                             new UpperPll(module);

    We do something very simular. We rename everything to lowercase for the same reasons. I've pasted a snippet of the code we're using at the end of this post.
    To get the full source code of our converter have a look at http://www.oratransplant.nl/2005/05/30/custom-built-forms-migration-assistant/#comment-642
    Here is the code snippet:
    while (attachedLibs.hasNext()) {
    AttachedLibrary attachedLib = (AttachedLibrary)attachedLibs.next();
    String attachedLibLocation = attachedLib.getLibraryLocation();
    out("Found attached library " + attachedLibLocation, logLevel,
    false);
    if (attachedLib.getName().equalsIgnoreCase("obsolete_forms6")) {
    obsoleteAttached = true;
    if (attachedLib.getName().equalsIgnoreCase("webreports")) {
    webReportsAttached = true;
    // converted name of attached lib to lowercase
    if ((!attachedLibLocation.equals(attachedLibLocation.toLowerCase())) &&
    lowerLib) {
    out(attachedLib,
    "Converting filename to lowercase (" + attachedLibLocation.toLowerCase() +
    ")", logLevel + 1, true);
    attachedLibLocation = attachedLibLocation.toLowerCase();
    pllChanged = true;
    // attachedLibLocation = attachedLibLocation.toUpperCase();
    pldText.append(".attach LIBRARY " + attachedLibLocation +
    " END NOCONFIRM\n");
    out("Re-attaching library " + attachedLibLocation, logLevel + 1,
    false);
    }

  • Adobe form as mail attachment

    Hi Experts,
    I am using xml based Adobe forms (ordinary print form) in WebDynpro  component. I got one requirement to send that form as an attachment to dynamic email id either from form or from WebDynpro  component.
    I tried using email submit button in adobe form , which allows to specify only static email id.
    Please suggest your ideas to send that to dynamic email id.
    Regards,
    Kiruba.

    Hi Kiruba,

  • APEX 4.1 dynamic parent child LOV

    Is is possible to create a dynamic parent child LOV? I want to be able to use information populated by a user on a form to become a select list on a subsequent form where the second field (child) is dependent on what is selected on the first field (parent). The list needs to grow based on data entered on the initial form and maintain the relationship.

    You should post this in the APEX forum.

    Hi chuck,
    If you ave created the form and then filling it yourself and saving the form, the filled data should be there when you reopen the same form.
    Can you please send the form to me at [email protected]  so that I can have a look.

  • How to create a MD form using dynamic page ?

    Rahul and Sharmila,
    You have answered several of my queries earlier and I am thankful for them.
    I have been trying to creating a MD form using dynamic page and I haven't fiqured it out. I need help. You both advised me on creating a simple form using dynamic page. The complexity changes drastically when I have to create a MD form. Has no body ever tried to create a MD form with dynamic page?
    I haven't heard from you anything either. I am stuck with this and I need help urgently. Would you kindly tell me if this is possible and how ? Otherwise, I will stop crying for help on this.
    Thanks for your kind attention.

  • Form in Dynamic page not working when checkbox is used.

    I have created a form using dynamic page. The form most have display fields and a checkbox field. When I check a box, it assigns 'Y' value and when unclick, it assign 'N' to the database field.
    When I submit the form, the procedure which is supposed to save the form data never gets executed. Well, at least it says, page not found HTTP 404 error.
    Interestingly if I make this field a text box and manually enter 'Y' or 'N', and then submit the form, the procedure is executed. Data gets saved.
    Is the checkbox not supposed to be used for a database field because checkbox value can be assigned only using javascript and the procedure never get that value ?
    Can you please tell me how to use a checkbox for a database field using dynamic page ?
    thanks,

    Sharmila,
    When I said, the form does not get submitted, I meant that the procedure does not work. The form gets submitted but the procedure does not work. It gives HTTP 404 error. That is what perplexes me. I am unable to understand why the procedure does not work when I click a checkbox.
    May be you can make this work. I am hopeless about this.

    I am new to working with pdf.  I am trying to fill out a form that was attached to a website.  I have a Macbook Pro and I am trying to learn Acrobat.  How do I get the form to accept my input?

    If there are Acrobat PDF form fields, not jus a space for a form field, then you will have to add them. It would be better to ask the provider of the form to add the fields. If you cannot add the fields, then you can use the add text feature.
    Have you looked in the "Tools" panel for the "Forms" category?

  • E-mail messages with text in the form of an attached file?

    Some of the e-mails I send are being received without any text but with my original message in the form of an attachment together with any other attachments I have sent. This results in some people not opening my mails or at least not understanding why I'm sending the attachments. Is this a compatibility problem? Is there anything I can do about the fact that not everybody in the world has a Mac? I thought the system of Windows friendly messages avoided this problem. Look forward to hearing anyone's thoughts on the matter and especially finding a solution.
    Best,
    Ken

    Perhaps the boolean expression isn't working because it needs to be all caps: YES instead of yes
    In any case, a simple 1 or 0 works just fine for me without -bool:
    The command to disable in-line attachments (all attachments appear as icons)
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 1
    To command to (re-)enable in-line attachments once disabled (all attachments appear as images or documents displayed in-line)
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0
    Also, when composing a new message with an attachment, be certain that 'Send Windows-Friendly Attachments' is checkmarked at the bottom of the new message screen:

  • Targeting Dynamically Attached MC's (2-3 Levels Deep) From Root????

    I am in the process of building an application where all of
    the functions will be eventually exported into seperate AS files. I
    am having issues with a Sub Navigation that is attached and managed
    dynamically.
    The Sub Navigation is in an MC which contains a mask (which
    has a tween animation to add a fade in effect), and a blank MC
    which will contain all of the navigation items.
    Upon load of an XML file, the navigation items are extracted
    and buttons are created within the blank MC. Each button is
    inserted using the blank MC instance name at the next highest
    depth.
    All of the actions associated with the above need to be
    issued from the root timeline but when I call the dynamically
    attached clips (full target path) it cannot seem to find the clips.
    I have checked the target path numerous times and used a variety of
    debugging techniques but no luck.
    Has anyone else had issued targeting dynamically attached
    MC's that are nested two - three levels deep?

  • HTMLDB 2.0 bug - tabular forms - select list from named LOV

    Hi!
    Changing a column in a tabular form to 'select list (named lov)' gets the following error in HTMLDB 2.0 when you try to add a row (to an empty table in my case):
    PL/SQL error at column 133.
    Create a table and then create a tabular form on it. Then change a report column to be a 'select list (named lov)'. Save and run the form and the error occurs.
