Forms demos problem / bigraph form unable to find javabean

hi there,
i've installed the developer suite 10g and the forms-demos with patches.
i can call 127.0.0.1:8889/forms/formsdemos/demo.html, everything loads fine... beans, images (regering to the bigraph demo).
but when i open the graph.fmb with forms developer, navigate to the PJC_canvas (second tab) ill get an error (frm 13008 bean not found oracle.forms.demos.bigraph.FormsGraph).
nevertheless i can compile the form and run it (adding ?config=bigraph solves image related problems).
to get rid of that error i tried to add the FormsGraph.jar to $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/formsdemo.env (CLASSPATH) - didnt work.
where are the parameters for forms-developer defining where to look for java-code?

sorry francois, that didnt solve the problem. while i'm now able to navigate the oracle.forms.demos.bigraph javapath in the <program>|<import java classes> dialog i still get the same error. (frm 13008 bean not found oracle.forms.demos.bigraph.FormsGraph)
i've then tried to import the FormsGraph bean in said java tree - again an error (java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/forms/ui/VBean).
to my surprise another bean is visible in that tree: FormsGraph$1 - importing is successfull but useless regarding to the first error.

9i forms demo problem with jinitiator 1.3.1.9

I'm trying to install the 9i forms demo from http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/forms/index9i.html
The install says it uses jinitiator 1.3.1.9. If you want to use another version, edit the forms90demo.cfg file. We have 1.3.1.17 and I edited the cfg file, but none of the demos will come up. I get "The page cannot be displayed" error. Our port is 8889 and the launchdemo90.html file is looking for 8888. I changed it to 8889 in the IE address field but the pages still won't come up.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

Build problem in JDev "Unable to find referenced object"

All of sudden I'm having problems building our application. Everything was going fine. I did a clean all, exited JDev (to backup files and release some memory) and restarted JDev. During the restart I received the messsages below and then I started getting a build errors when I compiled.

Unable to find the default new form for list mylist1 - deploying the list instance via module feature

hi,
am facing a problem deploying a list instance via a feature,
I created the list in the UI with content and views.
Exported the site template as WSP.
Imported into Visual Studio the list instance, pages module and property bags.
Copied into my new solution.
Deploy list instance as a site-collection level scoped feature.
activated the below features :
mylist_ModulesFeature
mylist_ListInstancesFeature
mylist_PropertyBagFeature
List deploys fine with content and views. However, I receive the following error when trying to add a new item: “Unable to find the default new form for list”. The same applies for editing items.
can anyone pls help why i am getting this error ?

Problem To install Forms Demo

I downloaded Forms Demo available on Sample code for Forms. This is what happened to me.
1- When I m trying to install Demos in Forms 6i Home , it says that can't install in this Home.
2- When i try to install in a new home, it ask for Form server to be installed before demos, When i do so, and again try to install Demo's, then it shows same problem as mentioned in (1).
What's the exact way to install Demos ?
One thing more , Is webdb available for download on oracle site ?

Unable to find Active Users Concurrent Program in Submit Requests Form

We applied a patch 9647331 on our development instance (R12.1.1). It completed succesfully. But when we are trying to submit ACTIVE USERS concurrent request, we are unable to find it in the Submit Requests Form.
However, we are able to submit the Active Users program using CONCSUB.
Not sure if the patch has done anything.
Please suggest.

Have you verified if the concurrent program is added to the Request Group which is linked to this responsibility?
Not sure if the patch has done anything. I do not think so. Was the patch applied successfully included all pre-reqs?

Unable to find the published output for this request - problem

Hi ,
In the invoice Payables module i modified a report to be open in xml and not text as it was. The program name of this report iis Print Invoice Notice. I did same thing we normally do to register a xml report in ebs.
The problem is that when i run the report from the invoice form and from the button wich call this raport i get this error:

No output file exist for the request

The thing is that if i run this report from Other ->Request -> Run of the same module this raport runs correctly
And if i change the output of my report (From concurrent manager) to text its open correctly even from there where i want to open it.
Can anyone give me any sugestion why i get this error while i try to open this xml publisher report from a button in a form in application?
PS: i am using ebs 11.5 version

Forms demo for Oracle developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2

Hello people,
I have tried to follow the instructions for the form demo and have installed Oracle devleoper sute 10.1.2.0.2.
In the instructions it instructs you to edit the
%ORACLE_HOME%\forms\j2ee\formsapp\formsweb\WEB-INF\web.xml
where %ORACLE_HOME% is the home directory of the devloper suite. Now then, when you goto the %ORACLE_FORMS%\forms\j2ee directory there is no formsapp directory, only three files,
formsapp.ear
formsoc4j.properties and
orion-web.xml.
When I run OC4J i get

I have had a look at my installation, and what I did was create two directories called disk1 and disk2, (for the two extracted zip files) and then ran setup in the disk 1 directory. So I don't know if it was aware of the disk 2 directory.
I am re-installing it now. So I will get back to you.

Forms Trace problem

I'm trying to use Forms Trace to assess performance in one of my forms, its slow and I want to find out if its middle tier/client processing or the network or the database.
Unfortunately, I only seem to be able to select a limited number of events to report on. I am tracing the events 32-46,65,66 and the form opens and runs as expected, however, if I try and increase the number of events to include, for example, 64 (Forms start & end) or 69 (Canvas) I get an error stating that communication with the server has been lost.

Client_Host Problem in forms 10g

Hi friends,
could you plz help in solving my problem :
I have to implement webutil package for client_host procedure.
I have followed all the steps to setup webutil in my production environment which are given in document ( in downloaded file Webutil_106)
while executing the form , i am getting the following error message
oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host Bean not found
i am not getting where i went wrong. my guess is while subclassing the bean item, while trying to subclass to webuti_host_functions, it is saying
FRM-13008 cannot find javabean with name oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host

* compiled the module

Problem in form based authentication

Hi,
I am encountering some problem in form based authentication.
When I try to login for the first time. It reoute me to the image
directory and not to the request page.
When I try it for the second time, it shows
"Form based authentication failed. Could not find session."
And it always show this message no matter how many time I try.
I am not sure is it something that I did not set ...

It may be a problem in your web.xml, I missed the "/" slash character
in the web.xml's in <form-login-page> element. So your web.xml

Running 9.0.4 Forms Demos in 10.1.2.0.2 Developer Suite

So, in my continuing adventures as the Oracle AS guy, I've been asked by the developers to install the Oracle Forms Demos so that they can use them. All of our developers have had Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 installed on their Windows machines, and the only link I've found to any Forms Demos by Oracle has been the 9.0.4 version.
Needless to say, my installation attempts have been... troubled. Oracle decided to change the naming scheme of their directories and filenames, pretty much a global replace of all references to "f90" with "frm", and "forms90" to just "forms". The 9.0.4 demos don't respect this change, with many hard-coded references to files like "$ORACLE_HOME/forms90/classes/f90all_base.jar", which are broken on a 10.1.2.0.2 Developer Suite installation.
We don't consider installing Developer Suite 9.0.4 to be an option because these guys are so Clingy (with a capital C) to the technologies they've learned that they were still developing on Forms 6i just a few weeks ago, until we showed that every piece of software they were working with was going to fail to deploy to any of our 10.1.2.0.2 Application Servers. 9.0.4 may be close enough for many purposes, but we don't want these guys to get used to 9.0.4 and have a big fight over getting up to 10.1.2.0.2, which we're planning to deploy on a large scale.
Thus far, we've resolved all of the problems with the demos except that running the FMXs produces a FRM-40011 "Form was created by an old version of Forms Builder". And even though the FMBs are included, we can't simply recompile them with 10.1.2.0.2, either, because all of the libraries they depend on have changed similarly.
Would we really need to go through and update all of the Oracle demos to make them run through the 10.1.2.0.2 Developer Suite, or is there a less time-consuming path?
...even better, is there a 10.1.2.0.2 version of the Forms demos?

DB Link problem on form/report 6i

I have an problem on form 6i with DB Link , that When I have view Using the DB Link and want to use the view on form6i or report 6i, the report not work when call the run file but work through the builder and also on the form not work (Form/ Report 6i With Oracle 11g Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production)

we have both 6i forms for client server for Linux and Sparc and the same forms ported (a year ago) to iAS/iDS 10g R2 just to be able to support the same application when 6i becomes obsolete. The issue of trying/asking/investigating if 6i works or will be certified against 11g or not, is simply to find out if we can support our application on the client/server side when the end users want to move to the new database server version/s. As you know the runtime for the client/server version of 6i is free. But we can not simply recommend our end users to start using 11g db server yet, given that 10gR2 forms are not yet certified against 11g yet. Thank you for your comments not only for this posting but on Forms forum though, I always find them very helpful when making educated decisions. Also knowing that you are a unix person makes your comments more valueable for me, personally.

Form 6i problem

I am facing the following problems in oracle 8i database.
1. I have installed the oracle 8i database on windows2000.
oracle 8i database is working right after that I have
installed the form 6i on same stand along PC.
When I make new form or open old form it give error that
"ORA-12203 TNS: unable to connect to destination"
2. oracle 8i sqlplus is working and also retrieving data, but
form 6i sqlplus is not working it give error " TNS-03505
failed to resolve name"
3. TNSPING <dbsid> does not work (in oracle 8i sqlplus and form
6i sqlplus)
4. oracle 8i and form 6i related services have started.
5. oracle 8i and form 6i have installed separate directories.
6. Lentener is start.
7. How form 6i tnsname.ora file configure that it able to
connect with oracle 8i database.
Please guide me what is the problems ? what is the possible
causes of TNS error ?
How I should installed the oracle 8i database and form 6i on the

We have about 400 users are using 10g web based application. Our users get the error "There was a failure in the forms server during startup. This could happen due to invalid configuration.

web-server log file it says
'Forms session <125,296> aborted: unable to communicate with runtime process.'
It is not reproducible error. But it happens to everybody at random time/form/database which makes big impact on our business.
We are in the edge of backing out of oracle forms due to this error
Any help will be appreciated

Would be a really bummer if you backed out of Forms and found the problems were because of network glitches ;o)
You need to do a bit a scratching around to get more details on this.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10g/troubleshooting_fls.pdf would be a good place to start. Chances are, network glitches are cause a disconnects but you need to confirm this by using the techniques described in this paper.
