Forms development tool /server which render a pure html interface at runtime

Hi,
I have heard of a 3rd party tool which uses same Forms development tool with a pure html rendering at runtime with modern web application look and feel. Oracle has any plan to do so? This approach help forms developers to use same Forms/Reports technology which deliver a modern application interface.

Newbie question-where to find forms development tool?

I downloaded oracle 10g 10.0.2 enterprise or AS and my database is running, but I don't know where to find forms and navigation tools?
please suggest me as i am practicing forms and developer as well, what products to download and what needs to be done...during install and to get those tools

In the previous project, i used the SAPScript to develop the form and i want to try something new in the up coming project like smartform , adobe form,etc. Does it require extra cost?? Which one is better??

Smartforms are SO much better than SAPScript that I'm not sure why anyone chooses to use SAPScript voluntarily in the new releases. They are SAP Standard and do not require extra expenses (except for your training). There is a decent SAP Press book available on the subject. Here is also an online PDF document:

Adobe forms might need some extra software and/or system settings. They are definitely worth exploring though for the future projects.

My problem is as follows, please show me a way.
Let's asume, I have form (developed in 6i) which has database data block. Now, at form level a have assigned on_logon trigger and I have written the following PL/SQL statement in that trigger:
begin
null;
end;
So, when I run this form without connecting to database It does not prompt for a connection. Now I have button lebeled as "Connect" in this form, when user will click on it it will display a window having text boxes to enter user name, password and database name; once the user fill those text boxes and click on a button lebeled as "Ok" then the form runtime environment should be connected with database as per information provided by user. Here to mention that the user already been created, only the connection will be stablished. For example: I want to connect the form with database as "scott/tiger@oradata9i".
To do this, what PL/SQL command statement should i write in that "OK" button's "when_button_pressed" trigger?
If any of you know about this please help me.

In brief and without getting too technical...
Oracle Forms Developer is the tool that you use to build the source Form files (FMB) and you need to compile the FMB files into FMX files before it can be executed. The current version of Forms Builder is 10g. The software is part of a suite of software products commonly known as 9ids/10ids.
Oracle Forms Server is the middle tier software that executes the FMX files. This software is old technology (refers to verion 6/6i). The current middle tier software is called 9ias/10ias of which Forms Services is one of the modules.

My company is seeking to unify it's IT PMO using Project Server or Project Online. I notivced that the Project Server certs have been deprecated and the pages ar eno longer available. Does that mean Project Online is the replacement/continuiation of that
product?
If so, what are some development tools you would advise for me to have to be able to develop/modiify and administrate Project Online in O365?

Indeed Project Server and Project Online are 2 different products. You have to notice that Microsoft regularly releases new version of Project Server (2003, 2007, 2010, 2013). Some old version feature might be deprecated indeed. Moreover Project Online is
a new version on the Microsoft solution that doesn't require to have on-premise infra.
Note also that Project Onlie is meant to be used quite out-of-the-box whereas Project Server on premise allows you doing custom development.

To be honest , I have been using only Notepad or
a simple Textpad ..to this date.
While these tools may be of help in indenting and beautification of code, I feel you lose your debugging skills and forget the SQL-PL/SQL syntax with them.

Problems with SCM server 10g and Forms Developer 6i&9i

Hi,
I installed SCM server 10g and try to use it with Forms developer 6i and 9i. The connection to the server works ok but when I choose the container from Source Control Options to check in forms they always go one level higher in the container hierarchy. With Forms developer 10g it is working fine. What might cause this?

You are missing one key piece of information from your email - the error message that you got.
can you specify what was the error number?
Once you have this number I'll suggest that you look it up on the online documentation of the database available on otn (just do a search on OTN with the error number).

Yes, a Forms 6i application could be deployed to the web, but infrastruction has changed many times in the 10+ years since Forms 6i was introduced.
1. Please recommend me a book for developing desktop applications in weblogic server.Are you talking about an Oracle Forms application deployed through the WebLogic application server? If so, take a look at Developing Oracle Forms Applications or Oracle9i Developer: Developing Web Applications with Forms Builder. These are older books, but they will give you the basics of Oracle Forms development. Once you have the basics of Forms Development, then you can refer to the product documentation for specifics on the particular version of Forms you are using:

You can use MySQL with your web app only if you are not using Oracle Forms! Oracle Forms will only communicate with an Oracle Database. I'm new to the area of developing .NET apps with Oracle. Till now 'Ive downloaded the Oracle Express 10g Edition and installed it.
Now I want to install the Developer tools for .NET and I am not sure which one to install. I've seen that currently there are several downloads
- Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.6.21 with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio
- Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.6.21 with Xcopy Deployment
- Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.6.21
- Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET with Oracle 10g Release 2 ODAC 10.2.0.2.21
- Oracle 10g Release 2 ODAC 10.2.0.2.21
- Oracle 10g ODAC 10.1.0.4.0
- Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET 10.1.0.4
Which of those should I use? Will the latest version (11.1.0.6.21) work with the 10g Express Edition? Or should I install one of the others?
I've got installed both VS 2005 Prof and VS 2008 Prof SP1 on my machine.

Open transport request in Development server which is not moved to Producti

HI All,
I am doing upgrade from ECC5.0 to ECC6. EHP4.
We have some open Transport request in development server which are not moved to PRD.
Now client wants to stabilize their both the systems, want to compare each trasport in PRD.
My question is, if they dont want that request to move to PRD, what we have to do?
We have to delete the tranport and select the active version of tranport which is there in PRD or how.
Please suggest me how to proceed for this scenario. we have lot of transports. ( Tables,programs,classes,methods,etc.,)

1st question: did you already finish your upgrade? If not, at which phase is it at?
2nd: did you upgrade your DEV system already to the same level as PRD?
3rd: were these transports generated in an old version (like ECC 5.0)? If yes, and now you have an ECC 6.0 system, you must not import them on this system, as they have different versions. If you do it, you'll make your system inconsistent.
Please clarify on these points so we can help you.
