Forms6i and MS OCX - help

OK. Hi. I have one problem.
I have ActiveX_control (activex component - MSComCtl2.DTPicker) and I don't know, how activate this control. Always I must insert this item manualy, when form is runnig(right mouse button -> Insert object - > "Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control") and then is ready for use. How can I activate this item automaticaly(in form code).

If you are using an ActiveX item type on the Form, then Forms should remeber the setting and just show the control
If it does not then the problem may be the licence for the OCX - If the Licence file or registry setting for the control cannot be found at runtime the control will come up empty.
You should also upgrade to the latest patch of 6i which fixes some licence storage problems with OCX.

You need DCOM for Windows 95 to use OCX's...
(We've had the same problem yesterday and now, it works fine...)

Quicktime uninstall and install - please help!

this is part of a wider problem.
my laptop doesn't recognise my new ipod. i try to re-install itunes but it needs quicktime. i try to install latest quicktime but it can't uninstall previous one. i get these errors when i try to install quicktime...
- error 63446 (i think?!)
- then it continues installing for a while and i get...
- error 1905. c:\program files\quicktime\qtocontrol.dll failed to unregister. HR result 2147220472.
then i get the same message but with QTOcontrol.dll replaced by QTOlibrary.dll and QTUIpanelcontrol.dll and Quicktimecheck.ocx
so then it plods along until it says...
- HKEYlocalmachines\software\classes\quicktimeplayerlib.quicktimeplayerapp\CLSIDvarify that you have sufficient access to that key
then it rolls back the install and thats it.
This is doing my head in. i have a worthless as it currently stands! any help much appreciated.

okay. let's first try working through the general advice from the following document:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime software in Windows
... but if you get no joy with that, let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple engineers for a look.
1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
3. Type in a space, then the following line:
/l*v C:\log.txt
4. Hit return.
5. The installer will create a log file:
C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
- A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
- The username you are using in the thread
- The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
- the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
- A concise description of the issue you are seeing

Bilingual support for forms6i and Reports6i

Hi
We are planning to use Oracle Developer 6i with forms6i and reports6i for a Client server solution and deploy only the runtime on Sun Solaris
Question: The users need multi-language support for the form labels and report headings etc..
However,the data in the database will be stored only in English and will be displayed only in English.
Please let me know if this is possible in Oracle Reports 6i and Forms6i (and how do we implement this)

Yes you can do this. The way you do this is to use Oracle Translation Builder to translate the contained strings in Reports and Forms. After translation, export the strings back into the Forms and reports modules.
In Reports you use the rdf format to store multiple language strings and in Forms it's fmb. To get language specific application modules you need to compile the files with the NLS_LANG variable set to the traget language.
You can compile Forms applications using the Forms Developer interface or the ifcomp60 compiler. Similar for Reports, except that the compiler name is rwconverter. After this all you need to do is to start the applications in the language environment (NLS_LANG) set to target language. On the Web this is the default.env file in Forms, or the registry (or Unix environment) of the Reports Server. In client-server NLS is defined in the registry on Windows or in the environment on Unix.

Forms6i and Report9

Hello everybody!
I am having some problems with the above mentioned programs: Forms6i and Report9.
1)
The problem with Forms6i occurs both with Windos XP and with Vista.
Installation is successful and I can run Forms as well as create and open the forms. The problem occurs when I try to connect to the database. The program crushes down after I insert account details and database.
I am using the latest version downloadable from oracle web site. I had no problem with a previous version.
Can anyone help me?

The problem with Report9 occurs when I try to open the last created report in web mode. The report preview works but as I go in web mode I’m told to configure my browser, or to choose between some browsers… In any case, whatever I do, nothing happens. I succeeded opening Firefox but there was no report.
Can anyone help me?

i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.
I hope this helped! I know its frustrating and APPLE/ITUNES NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!

At the bottom of the page Settings > Messages you should have a section headed "SMS/MMS" Turn MMS messaging on then you can turn group message on.

I would guess that a TV series takes up a fair amount of storage capacity. It is just a standard message I think that may indicate that you are actually running low on storage space.
If you go to Settings>General>About how many GBs are specified as being available? If you are low on space maybe deleting some apps may help.

The screen you're seeing on your iPhone indicates it is in recovery mode. Now since the device is not appearing in iTunes on your PC, first follow the steps in this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

After following those steps, you should be able to restore your iPhone.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I have used Firefox as my default browser for many years. I've recently started getting a Java error message. It pops up continually. I have updated flash and java. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and nothing has helped. I have had to start using Chrome instead of Firefox which I don't care for but I don't have the java error with Chrome. Sounds like you can't update your device. You don't mention an error that it gives you. Take a look at both of these articles to troubleshoot.

If you started your device in recovery mode by mistake, restart it to exit recovery mode. Or you can just wait—after 15 minutes the device will exit recovery mode by itself.

If Find My iPhone doesn't show a location for the iPhone, then unless your carrier offers some sort of tracking service, there will be no way to locate the phone other than to just look for it. Notify the police in case someone turns it in and change passwords to your Apple ID and any other online services you used from your iPhone.

After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end. Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually,and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.
