FormsIVS Fails Generating PDF, PDFForm After Applying SP1 on LiveCycle 7.2.2

I have a working Adobe LiveCycle 7.2.2 Forms installation. The FormsIVS test application renders the Adobe sample ExpenseClaim.xml and ExpenseClaim.xdp correctly when I choose output type of AutoDetect HTML, PDF, and PDFForm. I installed Service Pack 1 (SP1) and redeployed the Adobe .ear files. I'm now running 7.2.2 SP1 Forms.
My test for AutoDetect HTML works, but PDF and PDFForm fails. I get an error message indicating I'm using an unsupported PDF version. Does anyone else get the same error? How did you correct it?
javax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException: java.rmi.RemoteException: Unsupported PDF version. This PDF was probably created in a version of Adobe Designer that this version of Forms does not support.; nested exception is: com.adobe.formServer.interfaces.RenderFormException: Unsupported PDF version. This PDF was probably created in a version of Adobe Designer that this version of Forms doesn't support.

Update for people so they don't make the same mistake I did. I didn't have LiveCycle 7.2.2 Forms implemented. I had LC 7.2.0 + patch1 + patch2. The patch1 and patch2 patches are offered for the download links for LC 7.2, but they do not move it up to LC 7.2.2.
A user needs to download LC 7.2.2 from the Adobe web site or get it from sales. Then they can apply 7.2.2 SP1 on top of LC 7.2.2. The user shouldn't install 7.2.0 + patch1 + patch2 + SP1 since SP1 was designed specifically for 7.2.2.

  • Why do programs load slow after applying SP1 for NIDAQ 6.9.1?

I wrote a VC++ program that does simple DIO with the LabPC+ board. The machine also runs another app written in VB.
Originally, everything ran fine. I think this started after adding a VB app to the array of apps loading at startup, but now at bootup I get the "failed to initialize nipalu.dll" error. So, I applied SP1 for 6.9.1 and this error seems to have gone away. In exchange, it is taking more than a minute to load some very small programs now.
The startup order is roughly: VB app (non-NIDAQ) -> my app VC++ (NIDAQ) -> an I/O server for Siemens S7 -> Wonderware Intouch.
The VC++ app and the I/O server for Siemens S7 load slowly now. The first VB app and the last Intouch app load normally.
    I'm con
templating changing the startup order but are there any other hints?

    Eisan
Do you have this delay only when you have all three in the startup? Or do you still get a delay when only the VC++ app is in there?

  • Report Server URL field no longer visible in Dashboard Designer after applying SP1 and the October 2011 CU

    Environment: 1 WFE on W2K8Ent x64 SP2 | 1 App Server on W2K8 Standard x64 SP2 | 1 Dedicated SQL Server 2008 R2
    SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition
I recently applied SP1 and the October 2011 CU (Server updates, not foundation) on both the WFE and the App server and now I'm experiencing an issue with PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer in that when I want to deploy a new SSRS report, I no longer have
the ability to indicate the report server url under the report settings section because it's missing.  I also do not have the ability to preview the report nor can I modify any of the settings like Zoom or Format as they're greyed out.
I've been researching for several days now and cannot find anything to remedy my issue. I have reviewed the upgrade logs on both the WFE and App server ... I ran the product config wizard after applying the SP and the update ... Sharepoint is configured
to use Windows Integrated Mode for the reporting services configuration via Central Admin.
I noticed that the web config for my app was updated and compared that against a backup of the old web config and I mainly see diffs in version references for reporting services, etc.  (Ex. version 10 in the old, 11 in the new/updated config file).
Anyone else out there have this same issue?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Chad

Ultimately, I ended up installing SharePoint 2010 RTM on a separate system and then copied the folder with the PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer and put that on my PC at work.  If you open a PerformancePoint report inside SharePoint, it
will default to the version of the update so be sure to open up the designer from wherever you store it on your PC.  You'll know if it's the right one anyways if the URL is missing.
Also, once you've opened the RTM version, this will be the one that opens from the SharePoint shortcut via the Windows Start->All Programs->SharePoint Folder.

  • Generating PDF from DA and continue to execute

    Hi All, need your help...
I have a DA with couple of steps:
somewhere in the middle i have to generate PDF report and after that refresh one of the regions on the page
well the problem is that after i generate the report using
window.location.href = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=MyReport'; the refresh of the region is not working
same issue if i have to generate PDF and after that redirect to another page: the redirection is working but PDF is not generating.
Looks like i don't understaffed well how to manage window.location.href
Please help me wit any ideas
    Thanks

    Hi, Thanks for answering.
I have to make some changes in the database according to the user preferences, print a report of this changes and refresh the chart(or redirect to a new page).
I do realize that i just can let the user to click a new tab, or put a button to generate a PDF, but ideally you need to follow the business flow and provide the possibility to operate with the app in as less as possible clicks.
    The process is:
    a) user confirm to move some staff from one warehouse to another Populate the required session information into apex_collections
    b) he wants me to generate a PDF with details ( to print it for his records )Skip the PDF generation here.
    c) he is requesting me to redirect him to a main page automatically (no need to stay in the move section anymore) Redirect to main page > in this main page define a dynamic action on Page Load
*1.* which runs only when a record exists in apex_collections that was stored previously
*2.* Add a true action as Execute PLSQL code
    Code: Delete the collection.
*3.* Add a true action as Execute JavaScript code with
window.location.href = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=MyReport';So the idea is as soon as the user is redirected back to main page he will be prompted with the PDF file.
    Hope this will work :)

  • Schedule report and download generated PDF issue

    Hi,
I am trying to run a rpt file, which is stored on CR server, on the CR server 2008, the generated pdf to be stored in inbox, and the pdf will be retrieved using IPDF class and inputstream. Ideally, whole process is running within one session using enterprise SDK. <br>
I am be able to run the rpt file by using schedule mechanism. Setting scheduleInfo to run it RightNow. I can access the generated PDF right after my program schedule(run) the rpt file without any problem. The PDF exists in both inbox and instance manager (as child of rpt file). <br>
Here comes the problem. When my program uses enterprise SDK to query file list in inbox immediately after schedule() call, the query returns no files. <br>
Furthermore, I then tried to inspect the instance of generated PDF file by query all PDF instances. I tried to print out the instance name by using <br>
                   IPDF content = (IPDF)instanceObject;<br>
                   System.out.println(((IFile)content.getFiles().get(0)).getName());<br>
, and realized that the generated file name is actually the rpt file!! which is really confusing (as I explicitly set query to be SI_KIND = 'Pdf'). <br>
To conclude my issue, after I schedule the rpt file to run now, I am able to view the generated pdf on CMC. The pdf (as it displayed in CMC) stored in inbox, and as an instance of the rpt file. However, I cannot retrieve PDF from enterprise SDK. I can retrieve the content of instance, but it's clearly not the pdf file I expected. <br>
I also tried to logoff session after I schedule the rpt, and re-login to retrieve pdf, and tried to explicitly commit() after schedule(). Both methods doesn't solve the problem. Any suggestion on what might happens or something I might have missing? Thanks in advance.<br>
p.s. I think it may be helpful if I give out the whole process flow as follow:<br>
    1. log on the CR server, obtain session<br>
    2. retrieve the rpt file.<br>
    3. set schedule time (right now), format(pdf), destination(inbox), and parameter<br>
    4. make schedule call: schedule(IInfoObjects).<br>
    first option:<br>
    5. query file list in inbox (SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND = 'Inbox')<br>
    6. retrieve file from file list and store the data into arraylist by using file's inputstream IPDF.getInputstream<br>
    7 close all resources<br>
Outcome: no file in inbox (I can view pdf on CMC though)<br>
    second option:<br>
    5. query pdf instances belong to rpt file (FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_PARENTID ="+ <br>report.getID() +" and SI_INSTANCE=1 and SI_KIND='Pdf'")<br>
    6. retrieve file from instance list and store data into arraylist by using file's inputstream.<br>
    7 close all resources<br>
Outcome: the instance is actually the rpt file rather than generated pdf. <br>

    Hi Praveen, <br>
    Thanks for reply. <br>
It's my bad not showing all of my code. The whole piece of code is <br>
         String inboxQuery = "SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND = 'Inbox'";<br>
              IInfoObjects ceInboxs = getDocument(ceInfoStore,inboxQuery);<br>
              IInfoObject ceInbox = (IInfoObject)ceInboxs.get(0);<br>
              <br>
              inboxQuery = "SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_PARENTID = " + ceInbox.getID();<br>
              <br>
              ceInboxs = (IInfoObjects)ceInfoStore.query(inboxQuery);<br>
I believe I don't need to include owner name because SDK will determine which inbox to retrieve automatically according to the user who login to CR server. <br>
However, to try all the possibility, I still appended the user id at the end of query, and still no luck. <br>
I am wondering if its got something to do with timing. Please advice. Thank you <br>

  • Dynamically adding to PDF after applying Extended Reader Rights

    All,
I've created a PDF with a digital signature in Acrobat X Pro and applied the extended Reader rights. What I am trying (and failing) to do now is add new pages to the PDF via a Java library (BFO) on a server. When a user eventually brings up the PDF in Reader, they receive a warning about how the extended rights have been revoked since the PDF has been modified. Is there any way to maintain the rights while building the PDFs? Or is the only way to dynamically build a PDF with a digital signature that can be user-signed in Reader through the LiveCycle/ADEP services?

You have to prepare the PDF BEFORE you add the extended Rights.  Once it's been rights enabled, you can't modify it w/o breaking the rights.

  • Why would hyperlinks fail to work half-way through generated PDF?

I'm trying to create a PDF of a MS Word file using the Adobe PDF > Convert to Adobe PDF function. In the generated PDF, half-way through the file the hyperlinks stop working although they display correctly. In the source Word file, the links work fine. The Word file is heavily cross referenced and is about 14 MB. It was originally a 26MB file, but I reduced the filesize by converting the embedded graphics from embedded Visio objects to .wmf images.
My question - what would make the hyperlinks fail? Is it a system processing issue? The rest of the PDF seems fine. Note that the final PDF also contains bookmarks. All other PDFs I generate work correctly.
    System Details:
    Word 2003
    Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional
    Windows XP, Version 2002, SP2
    789 MHz, 3GB RAM
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Just in case, I would suggest updating your Acrobat. You have to install the updates in order, but AA7 is currently at 7.1.2. The updates are available at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. Version 7.0.1 is a very early version. The latter versions (7.1.x) were primarily security updates. The 7.0.x updates were fixing a lot of the bugs.

  • Cannot generate pdf in RoboHelp after upgrading to Acrobat 7.0 Pro

I just upgraded from Acrobat 7.0 to Acrobat 7.0 professional.  RoboHelp will no longer generate pdfs.  Get error "Cannot locate printer driver.  Reinstall Acrobat 7.0"
Am using RoboHelp for HTML version 6.

I don't have a compatibility chart for the versions of Acrobat and RoboHelp, not sure if that could be an issue. I assume Acrobat is working otherwise - for example, if you PDF from Word
It was the case that RH had to be installed before Word. I don't think that extended to Acrobat but it could be worth trying an uninstall and reinstall.
Also try setting Acrobat's compatibility settings to something low such as Acrobat 5.
Ultimately you may have to settle for generating to Word and creating the PDF from there.

  • SQL Developer 1.5.1 failed to start after applying patchset 11.1.0.7

After applying patchset 11.1.0.7 to Oracle 11g (11.1.0.6) running on Windows 2003, when starting SQL Developer 1.5.1 I got an error:
"Unable to find main class. Class specified is: oracle/ide/boot/Launcher".
    Any idea? Thanks.

It is possible that the patch has replaced you shortcut with one pointing to the version within the 11g home. Try running sqldeveloper directly from the executable in the 151 directory.

  • Calibration Executive fails to generate pdf reports

I have Calibration Executive 3.4.1 and it has stopped generating pdf, word, or excel reports. It still generates text and html reports. I reinstalled cal exec and made sure it as all the current updates. The only thing we changed lately was installing DAQmx-9.4. I rolled that back to DAQmx-9.3 which did not help. If the default report is set to pdf, no report gets generated. It also will not open any report done earlier. It give an error message stating the path is incorrect of the file is corrupted. The path is correct and the old pdf open just fine using Adobe (ver 8 standard). Has anyone experienced anything similar or has any advice as to what to look at next. Thanks for any help!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Solution: the latest revision of JAVA was corrupted causing the error. Removal and re-installing a clean version of JAVA corrected the problem.

Internal error encountered,  Failed to generate Printed Documentation.
RoboHelp can successfully create a PDF of a single topic. It can create a PDF with Review > Create PDF for Review.  It can successfully create a doc from this project, and Word is able to save that doc as a pdf.
RH can open the projects that it created but cannot open the sample projects. The sample directories are read-only and I cannot reset them. I do not know why.
I uninstalled RH and reinstalled it. The problem is still occurring.
I am baffled. I am an inexperienced RH user so the problem might be a simple one. I would be grateful for any advice.
    Best wishes,
    Juliette Curtis

I was also facing this issue and got the same error.  After much trial and error I found the following solution. So sharing that here. ( I am not sure whether this works for all the use cases. But in my case it worked. I am using Windows 7, RH11, and MS Office 2010.)
Open any Office application. (I opened Word)
Open File > Options > Add-Ins. (You will be able to manage your add-ins from this tab. When I browsed through the list I found the "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM" Addin was with the list of  "Disabled Application Add-Ins")
Select "Disabled items" from the Manage list. (This list is available at the bottom of the Add-Ins tab)
Click Go. The Disable Items window is displayed.
Select "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" from the list.
    Click Enable.
Click Close. The  "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" is moved to the list of "Active Application Addins".
    Close MS word.
Now when you generate the Printed Documentation output from RH11, the error mentioned in the query is not appearing and a PDF output is generated.
    Hope this solution will help.

Finally i compare the environments (Production, Dev and QAS) and in DEV and QAS this report works perfectly (generate PDF file correctly). I compare configurations of them and they have the same parameters and values.
The Support Desktop tools set on green all (DEV and QAS)
I found an article about the ADS rfc that use the adobe document service, so i check in the environment production and this doesn't exists (using SM59).  I check in the environments DEV and QAS and this doesn't exists, but in both evironments appears just "ADS is enabled" and works perfectly.
I tried to execute the program test of PDF's (FP_TEST_IA_01 and FP_TEST_00) on the three environments and not working on all.
Please help me with this, i am crazy with this!!!
    Thanks and greetings.
    Alex

  • Performance problems to generate PDF files using CR

    Hi,
I develop an application that read TXT files and uses this information to generate PDF files, but I'm having problems with performance to generate this PDF, each files are taking at least 1 minute to create the file. I realized that some TMP and RPT files are generated and deleted in the temp folder of the machine which is running the application, but after some time creating the PDF's the RPT files aren't deleted and I have an exception on my app:
    Memory full.
    Failed to export the report.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
If you are using IIS5 the give aspnet full permission to the Temp folders. For IIS6 give  IIS_wpg permission.
For this you need to right click on the folder,
    go to properties,
    security tab,
    click on Add,
    Type aspnet/iis_wpg,
select top note in Location and click on check on check names.
    Give full control and
    click ok.
Also try using GC.Collect(), reportDocObject.Close() and reportDocObject.Dispose() as clean up code.
    Regards,
    AG.
