Formula behind fuzzy lookup Overall Similarity value

Could someone help me in understanding how Fuzzy Lookup calculates the Overall Similarity value using the available fuzzy columns and how top n records are chosen? Is it based upon the similarity value ?

Fuzzy Lookup matches input records that are "dirty" (because of misspellings, truncations, missing or inserted tokens, null fields, unexpected abbreviations, and other irregularities) with clean records in a reference table. Fuzzy Lookup can help
find data in large tables when your data has a corrupt or incomplete string key.
Fuzzy Lookup uses the Error-Tolerant Index (ETI) to find matching rows in the reference table. Each record in the reference table is broken up into words (also known as tokens), and the ETI keeps track of all the places in the reference table where a particular
token occurs.

Display of OVERALL RESULT value in any particult CELL in Workbook???

Hi,
is it possible to display the OVERALL RESULT value of a report in a particular cell in the workbook?
Here is the scenario: When i run a workbook, say the overall result is $1000. i want to display this value in cell D7 of the workbook.
is this possible using macros????

I am running the workbook in this case and i dont see any "convert to formula" option when i right click. Is this a option in 7.0 or 3.5. we are in 3.5.

How to validate a field of type text for similar values

Hi,
My requirement is to validate a field Name1 of type Text[40] for similar values when a new record is created. So If the Name1 already exist in repository, the validation has to give warning message saying the customer with Name1 already exist.

To validate a particular field, when a new record comes along with the same value SAP MDM is not capable of generating warning messages, but we can have best method of Tracking at Import manager level.
In the Import manager after successful mapping, access the MATCH RECORD tab. Go to the Default import action area there you can find Match type & Default import action. For example if you are sending same Material record which is already available in the Repository, Match type will have the value EXACT where as Default Import action will have UPDATE (ALL MAPPED FIELDS or NULL FIELDS).
Here I have copied various Match types as well as Default Import Actions along with the definitions, pls go thru the same and feel free to revert to me for further clarifications.
Default Import Action
Skip -> Skip source value combinations that already
exist.
Update(NULL Qualifiers Only) -> Update just the NULL remaining qualifiers of each existing qualified lookup value.
Update (All Mapped Qualifiers)-> Update all the remaining qualifiers of each existing
qualified lookup value.
Replace -> Replace all the remaining qualifiers of each existing qualified lookup value by first deleting them and then creating a new value combination.
Delete -> Delete this qualified lookup value during import Processing.
Match Type
None -> None
Exact -> Whether the match type for the destination record with the current source
record is Exact.
Partial -> Whether the match type for the destination record with the current source
record is Partial.
Conflict -> Whether the match type for the destination record with the current source
record is Conflict.

Hi Selva,
In brief, the Fuzzy Grouping Transformation can be used to group the similar rows in the source dataset and identify rows of data that are likely to be duplicate; while the Fuzzy Lookup Transformation can match records between the source table and reference
table that are similar, but not identical to, the lookup key.

Design Problem When SSIS Get String From Web to Do Fuzzy Lookup

In my previous post Search Data by Fuzzy Lookup in Real Time
Scenario, I've tested required functions to build a sample website and SSIS, now it's time to polish my design. Since user will query a name from Web, SSIS is supposed to get a string to do
Fuzzy Lookup. I wonder how I can design to let fuzzy lookup consume String as input instead of a structure (like OLE DB, EXCEL, Flat File, etc ) .
Now I use table as datasource to do a fake input. The SQL_CMD variable will dynamically be replaced from Web input. It seems Fuzzy Lookup component needs a structure to be an input.
Do you have any design idea for my scenario ? Thank you!

How are you executing the fuzzy lookup package ? Is it using command line or using asp.net code ?
In SSIS package we can create variables and assign any strings to these variables while running the ssis package in asp.net.

How to do a reverse lookup on a value set?

I have a concurrent program which has multiple paramaters with various value sets. When I run reports, I want to dynamically list on the output the parameters the user gave. The problem is that these values are often the IDs and not the value the user sees.
Are there any packages in applications that will let me to do a "reverse lookup" with the value sets to get the values the user saw?

Hi Stomie,
Based on your description, the network ID of your reverse lookup zone is 172.16.160.
To create a reverse lookup zone, please follow steps below,
Right click Reverse Lookup Zones, click New Zone, choose proper settings of
Zone Type, Active Directory one Replication Scope,
Reverse Lookup Zone Name type based on your actual situation.
In the Reverse Lookup Zone Name page, check Network ID
radio button, enter the network ID. For example, if the network ID is 172.16.160, then enter 172, 16, 160 in order. Then you will see it appears
160.16.172.in-addr.arpa in the Reverse lookup zone name edit.
Or in the Reverse Lookup Zone Name page, check
Reverse lookup zone name radio button, then enter the name of the reverse lookup zone directly. Such as, enter
160.16.172.in-addr.arpa in the edit.
Click Next twice, click Finish.
Reverse lookup zone name end up with in-addr.arpa.

Expected Value and Overall limit value usage.

Hi Sap Gurus,
if the frame work order we have these 2 field Expected value and overall limit field value to be filled,
and the system allows Invoice (or GR) up to the maximum of the overall limit value. and only if the value entered crosses the overall limit value the system issues a Error Message ( which is agreeable)
but the logical requirement is that, if the value crosses the Expected value limit the system should display a warning message, indicating that the value has crossed the expected value.
is there any config or note to be applied to get this funtionality.

Inside this documentation, it is stated that there is a variety of
limits (combinations) to be used:-
- Overall limit only
- Overall limit and limit on services covered by contract item(s)
- Overall limit, limit on services covered by contract item(s),
- and other limit
- Overall limit and other limit

    service catalog
- Expected value
The expected value is used in the update of the
PO item value and this is the value used in the release strategy.

Expected value - ESUH-COMMITMENT
Value that the unplanned services (or the materials) covered by this
item are not expected to exceed.
Use
If you are working with the release (approval) procedure for purchasing
documents, this value serves as the basis for a release strategy applied
to this document.
If you tick 'No limit',you don't need to enter 'Overall limit',but must
enter 'Expected value'.Because 'Expected value' will affect the release
strategy. Please read the note 440601 connected to this.
Concerning the variability of actual cost of a purchase order,
expected value means that the unplanned services (or materials)
covered by this item are not EXPECTED to exceed.
It is not mandatory that it has the same value like total limit value.
Expected value can exceed, it is used for comparison with total limit
value in cost control.
Expected value can also be combined with unlimited total limit in a
purchasing document.

Insert Value(s) in Lookup Flat Multi-valued Table with Java API

I've been looking in MDM Java API Library Reference Guide, MDM SP4 API JavaDoc, and SDN Forums for information on how to Insert/Update different values in a field in the Main Table of a given repository that belongs to a Lookup Flat Multi-valued Table using the Java API with no success.
I also haven't been successful in adding this values in the same way that I'll add a single value, using the MDM Java API, in a single-value Lookup Table (a2iFields.Add(new A2iField(FIELD_CODE,FIELD_VALUE)) for each value I want to add, like for example:
a2iFields.Add(new A2iField("Country","USA")
a2iFields.Add(new A2iField("Country","Mexico")
a2iFields.Add(new A2iField("Country","Germany")
Can anybody point me to the correct documentation that I need to read to fulfill this task? Or, even better, if someone can post a piece of code, I'll be more thankful.

Fuzzy Lookup addin Query

I am using Excel 2013, I have installed fuzzy lookup, it got installed without any hassle but it doesn't show up in Excel.
Load behavior of fuzzy add-in in COM Add-ins shows "A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-ins."
If I try to run Add-in then I get following error:
"The common language runtime could not be loaded by C:\Users\Vicky\AppData\Local\Apps\Microsoft\Fuzzy Lookup Add-In For Excel\Bin\FuzzyLookupAddInForExcel.vsto|vstolocal. Contact your administrator for further assistance."

Based on the error message, this issue usually occur with fuzzy lookup not installed completely. Would you like to tell me where did you download the add-in? I tested to download
here and installed/worked well in my local environment ( Windows 8.1 64bit and Office 2013 32bit). If you did not download from here, please try this installation copy.
Then, if you were also download with above link, I recommend we clean-remove it and re-install it with
Windows clean boot.
Please Note:
Uninstall any previous versions of Fuzzy Lookup Add-In for Excel. Folder path:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apps\Microsoft\Fuzzy Lookup Add-In For Excel
Right-click Setup.exe and Run As Administrator.

Fuzzy Lookup Transform not writing to destination

I'm using MSSQL 2008R2 on a MS Server 2008 R2.
I've tried using a flat file, excel, and creating tables to use the Fuzzy Lookup transform.
But each time, the source object and Fuzzy Lookup transform turn yellow, but the destination is never reached.
I'm not trying anything fancy for this now, I have been reduced to just trying to match some test data to see if I was doing anything wrong.
For my source, it is simply a single column table, we will call it table A, with Oatmen, Juce, and Conut in the Name column.
The reference table, table B has Oatman, Juice and Coconut in the Name column.
IS there a known issue with the Fuzzy lookup that I have not found?

Formula to calculate the last active value in a row?

When using a simpe table, what formula will display the last active value in the row? Some of the cells are blank. I want a column to show the most recent value, which in this case will be the rightmost, non-blank cell.

B2 through J2 are your data
B3 =IF(B2="","",COLUMN())
Fill that to the rest of row 3
A2 =INDEX(B2:J2,MATCH(MAX(B3:J3),B3:J3,1))
If there are no values in the row, the answer will be an error triangle. You can put the IFERROR function around the formula and give it an answer when there is an error.
