Formula/Row Issue

Hi,
I am currently writting a report in Business Objects (Web Intelligence Document) to reflect Incentives gained by our call centre staff. I have written the report and all the data is correct and it gives me the info i need, however for cosmetics reasons and easy view for managers i need the report to line the row correctly.
For Example:
A customer calls and wants to add legal cover and personal accident cover to their policy mid-term - Holly Daniels (a member of our staff) will do that change for the customer which means she gains 10% of the costing of each product sold..these changes are classed as two events but it is actually only one change. Which means Holly's name appears twice on two different rows and in the legal cover column it says £2.50 in the cell and on a separate row under the personal accident column she has £1.50 in that cell, however the question is, i need both of these showing on one row rather than two with Holly's name only appearing once.
This will work in excel as the formula only represents one cell, however in the Web Intelligence Document one formula represents the whole column.
Is there a formula for this or any advice would be much appreciated.

As Per My below example to read the example properley please click edit above, this will help you understand my situation a bit more as my example is more clear.
Example:
Date             Policy Number   Customer Name   Legal Cover   Personal Accident   Breakdown Cover   Gadget Cover  Incentive Total
21/10/2008   210000088          Holly Daniels                           £1.50
21/10/2008   210000088          Holly Daniels       £2.50
So the date and the policy number are exactly the same and the events were put in place at exactly the same time in one change, however i need a way of differentiating the two events so that the £2.50 value moves up to the first row and the second row disappears as it's only one change in affect.

    I have a financial reporting question and would like to have your inputs in order to achieve what I am trying to do.
    I have a report with two grids – grid 1 & grid 2. And there is a formula row in grid 2 that is “change between the two years” worth of data. The year and period combination is in the page of the grids.
    Formula row (in grid 2) = ((Grid1.[b,6]) - [b,6]) / [b,6]
    The issue is when I change the Page selection in Grid 1 the formula in grid 2 doesn’t get updated values unless and until I make a change in the grid 2 Page selection too. If I don’t make any changes in the page selection in grid 2 it keeps the data (looks like it is still considering the previously retrieved/calculated values) as it is without any update.
    How can I make the formula row in grid 2 dynamic so that it gets updated no matter what combination of page selection I make in either grid 1 or grid 2 or even if I just change something in grid 1 and nothing in grid 2?
    Please let me know your inputs. Any help is appreciated.

    Page POV will be specific to the grid.Why can't you try to have the POV at the report level.In the HTML view of the report,the report will give you a Drop Down to select POV for all Grids.Select All Grids option and then set the POV which will be same for both the grids (which you want) and all your formulas will work.

    you should be able to assign a dynamic value with global entry lists as well. If you say @myParam as dynamic value. VC will indicate in red letters, that the field @myParam is unknown. However, it will work, as long as @myParam is known in the form or table where you use the entry list.
    I have never heard of the problem that entry lists are emptied after "insert"-event.

  • Formula Row/Col Custom Heading not appearing on the Grid Cell in FR Studio

    I'm building reports using Financial Reporting Studio Software.
    When i insert the formula row/column and give a custon heading, it is not reflecting on the GRID. The cell still shows blank.
    What should i do ? is this a bug?

    Which version of EPM you have is it 11.1.2 or 11.1.2.1 don't see fR studio > about it will show 11.1.2 if it is 11.1.2.1 then try 11.1.2.1.128 patch.
    because there is bug 14617522 - CUSTOM HEADINGS FOR THE ROWS BELOW THE TEMPLATE DISAPPEARS
    Infact try with latest 11.1.2.1 patch that is 133.

  • Effective date for a Formulation row

    Hi,
    our customer manage in JDE the effective date for each formulation row.
    I.e.: In a particular formulation a particular salt is valid from 1-gen-2013 to 1-feb-2013.
    In the same formulation another salt is valid from 2-feb-2013 to 1-mar-2013.
    Is there a way to handle this also in PLM4P? Are there other customer that have the same formula management?

    have you thought about using the Alternate Input Items to achieve this scenario? you can put description to clarify that the particular salt only available in certain amount of time. Hope this will be helpful.

  • Using "Same As" in a Formulas Row - FR

    I am wanting to use Eval(Grid1.[1],[2]) to find the differences between 2 rows which have different Versions and Scenarios. The catch is I want to use expansion, so I think I need to combine "Same As" with a formula. But I can't figure how to put "Same As" in a formula row, or to put the Eval() function in a text row.

    I don't think you can make it work that way.
    An alternate way to do that will be
    Row 1
    Meausres X
    Row 2
    Measures x (do you need this?)
    Column A
    Scenario A, Version A
    Column B
    Scenario B, Version B
    Column C
    [A]-
    (I had to add it as code as it is changing the format to bold)
    If you go by the Row approach, you'll have to hard code formulas and say
    [1(1)]-[3(1)]
    [1(2)]-[3(2)]
    [1(3)]-[3(3)]
    The problem here is you'll have to see what is the max expansion of the row and then add that many number of rows.

    Greetings!
    I have a necessity to use formula row in some forms to get an aggregated value of rows above, sometimes i have to use sum([1])/2 and this results me into a problem: in cells where formula is not valid (all values in specific column are blanks) it shows #error instead of values.
    Question is, how to avoid that? like in excel for example =IF(A1="";"";A1/2)

    I've found 2 ways how to avoid #errors, not elegant, but working properly.
    #error shows in formula cells if the LAST argument of function returns #error and others are #missing
    1st way) You can use expression of the from 0 + sum([1])/2 and it would return "0" in formula cell
    2nd way) You can use an expression of the from sum([1])/2 + sum([2]). NOTE that sum([2]) + sum([1])/2 would return an error if sum([2]) returns a #missing value, if swap arguments formula would return #missing value and it would give us an empty cell
    IF you do not have any other rows, which summary would give you #missing, here is a trick sum([1])/2 + sum([1]) - sum([1]), first sum returns an #error (#missing/2), second returns #missing, third returns #missing and you will have #missing in formula cell as result
    Question about formula, i need to sum row[1] values of [C:E] columns, is there any way to indiate a range like that in sum() function?

    As I understand you want to sum the incentive gained Employee  but  want name of employee to be displayed only once
    Ex:
    Date                    Policy Number          Customer Name              Legal Cover

    You want this way:
    Date                    Policy Number          Customer Name              Legal Cover    
    21/10/2008          210000088                 Holly Daniels                   £4.00
    This you can achieve By Using Input and Output contexts.
    1)     Create Variable as Sum_of_cover
    2)     Write Formula as   sum() IN (;[Customer Name])
    3)     Place this formula as  Total Legal Cover.
    It will display Value Policy Number, Customer Name only once and Legal Cover as sum of 2 values i.e. 1.5 and 2.5.
    Date                  Policy Number            Customer Name      Legal_cover
    21/10/2008           210000088                 Holly Daniels                £4.00
    if itu2019s not working try the following .
    sum() IN (;[Customer Name]) IN ()
    here at the end of formula use either Customer Name / Policy Number whichever works.

    Your solution needs small adjustement. You shoud generate xml not for whole table but just for the current row:

  • Front Row Issue When iTunes is Running

    On my Mac Mini (which is our media centre), I've noticed some strange behaviour. Namely, if I leave iTunes running and then start Front Row, after a while (up to 24 hours sometimes), Front Row can no longer see the iTunes library. With iTunes shutdown this doesn't happen.....

    I have confirmed that this issue only exists with a library on a network share. Local libraries seem to work fine. I have submitted a bug report to Apple.
    To anyone from Apple who may be reading: this is a huge degradation in capability for those of us who use our Macs as media servers and need the ability to simultaneously use front row locally and share the music library with other computers. I am looking forward to a fix.

  • Front Row issue

    Hi all,
    I currently have an issue with front row video playback.
    When I am playing AVI movies only through frontrow on the left hand side of the screen is a large white flickering bar.
    When I play these same files through VLC it doesn't happen but through Realplayer, QT and more annoyingly Frontrow it does.
    Every other format is fine
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

    Frontrow uses Quicktime, so if you sole the problem in QT you'll solve the problem.
    avi is a hold all for a wide variety of codecs. What's likely going on here is that QT is having trouble with the particular codec. What might work is to install Perian, which adds a large range of codecs to QT and increases the chances that it will play properly.

    I have a requirement for reordering rows in a table using drag and drop. This table is loaded using a list and I am able to programmatically do the reordering of the rows based on the events of drag and drop by manipulating the list. Reordering of rows is working fine if all the columns are read only. For all the input text and input date columns the values are not getting reordered. Anyone has any idea on what the issue may be with reordering of the rows for editable columns/rows (af:inputText and af:inputDate) in af:table.   • Formula Variable issue

    Hi,
    Can someone help me with the following issue as my client wants it quick.
    I have created a formula variable called "Enter number for formula" for number and used this formula variable  in a calculated key figure. When I run the query, it will ask me to enter a number in the formula variable and this number will be used in the calculated key figure to get the results for the calculated key figure in the report.
    Now the point here is that customer has to enter either 5 or 6 or 7 only in this formula variable and should not allow other numbers in the formula variable and more over we should have a selection option with only these 3 values and when customer pressses F4, he should get an option of selecting any one from these 3 values.
    Is this requirement feasible? If So can any one help me with an example.

    I have a quick question. My first priority is that, is selection option can be enabled for formula variable i,e when ever customer executes a query and presses F4 he should get 5 or 6 or 7 and has to select any one out of three.
    I can give the formula variable description "Enter either 5 or 6 or 7" but this can be worked out only if I have less values but if I have to select some numbers from 1 to 100 then definitely I need a selection option,
    and is the reason we are looking for selection option with the required values.

  • Unit price formula syntex issue in Contract line item

    Hi All,
    I have uploaded price condotion XML from SRM to Sourcing. I have defined integarted Master agreement and added 0ICT item price condition for service and materila. I was able to add line item and publish to SRM.
    I tried creating new custom price condition in Sourcing adn saved. After this I am not able to add line item in master agreement. It is showing systex error in unit price formula under document setup->formula.
    I faced this error in past when I haven't added item price condition in master agreement type as default for material and service.
    I don't know what went wrong. I have inactivated the custom price condition, imported the standard SRM again via XML and deleted priviously added price condition from the master agreement type and defualt with new one but no luck. I tried creating new master agreement type also but same error.
    Please let me know if anybody has faced the issue in past and able to fix it.
