  • Formula variable / Replacement path issue

    Hi Experts,
I have a Field which has different status description.
I want to bring the count of only one preferred description.
    Model Status
    A1     New
    A2     Open
    A3     New
    B1     Closed
    B2      Pending
    B3     New
I want to view only the closed count of models
    Model Count of Closed
    A1     0
    A2     0
    A3     0
    B1     1
    B2      0
    B3     0
I tried doing this using the formula variable and Replacement path with Status Field.
But I'm unsuccessful in selection the desired status.
Please help me to over come this.
    Thanks

    Hi Dear Prasad,
I can't restrict the characterstic to Closed. If I do so the output will be only for Closed.
But here I want to bring every model with value as 0 and 1 for model with closed status.
    Hi Dear Raju,
The requirement what I have here is more complex. like, the result will be for 6 month displaying every single cal/day.
and also I have to find out percentage of closed for every cal/day based on number of model we got.
i have only asked a small portion of it, with this input i will manage to build the percentage etc....
I  cannot bring counter inside. My report is already too wide to be displayed.
I have tried similar kind of thing, using CKF, Formula Variable and Replacement path with the Char - InfoObj.

But I'm not very sure how do I get only count of the my desired status.
    Please help.

  • Exception color with formula variable(replacement path)

    Hello,
I tried to define exceptions in a query which "from" and "to" values
are determined by formula variables with replacement path. I checked
the values of the formula variables and they are right. <b>But <b>the cells
are not colored</b></b>. When I set the same values in the field "from" and "to" without variables : the colors appear.
Could help me to resolve this problem please ?
    Catherine Bellec

    Hi Alec,
You are right, the user exit permits to color the lines.
But the value of my variable needs to change for each line of the infocube so I can't do this with the user exit RSR00001 because it concerns global variables.
That's why I used a replacement path on a virtual characteristic.

  • Derive YYYYMM from YYYYMMDD with formula variable replacement path

    Dear All
For deriving month from date I tried the replacement path variable with the offset 0, length 6 (for YYYYMM). But the YYYYMM displayed as a number i.e. 200502 as 200,502. Tried to divided by 100. It still displayed as 2,005.02. Any idea how to let it as 200502?
    Thanks, Jessica

Actually, here's a quick example of a customer exit that I think does what you want (I did it here in this text, so you might need to debug):
            WHEN 'ZDAT_MTH'.
    DATA: l_curdate  like sy-datum.
    *           Initialization
                CLEAR: l_calmonth, l_curdate.
    *           Get calmonth from curdate
                CALL METHOD cl_rsar_function=>date_month
                  EXPORTING
                    i_curdate  = l_curdate
                  IMPORTING
                    e_calmonth = l_calmonth.
    *           Return calendar month
                CLEAR l_s_range.
                l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
                l_s_range-opt  = 'EQ'.
                l_s_range-low  = l_calmonth .
                APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.

  • Formula Variable and key date

    Hello!
Maybe someone can help me with the following problem:
We have an inventory cube and want to see our stock with alternative values. On 0Material exists a key figure ("price") as time-dependent attribute. This key figure displays the price of the material for different periodes (that's why attribute is time-dependent).
In the query I created a formula variable (=> replacement path, replaced with the mentioned key figure "price") and in a formula I multiplicate stock and the formula variable. This works fine and value of key figure "price" is correctly selected according to key date of the query.
But I need a second formula, where stock from previous year is multiplicated with "price" from previous year, so I need a possibility for a second key date relevant for a second formula variable.
Anyone who had a similar problem? Any idea how to solve this problem - formula variables are not mandatory!

    Hi Kishore,
Use the formula created by you (say Formula 1) in a new formula ( say Formula 2).
    Use If Else condition.
    Formula 2 = (Formula 1 < 0)0 + (Formula 1 >=0)Formula 1
    The above expression explained as:
    If Formula1 < 0 then
      Formula 2 = 0
    Else
      Formula 2 = Formula1.
You can hide Formula 1 and Display only Formula 2 in your report.
    Hope this helps!

  • Formula Variable to find Standard Price on Different Plant

    Hello Experts,
I'm attempting to write a query against our Inventory cube.  I need to show:
Inventory        Value of     Standard     Value of       Stock
Qty               Stock @      Price @      Stock @     Value
    @ Plant X      Plant X        Plant Y       Plant Y       Difference
Value of Stock @ Plant Y = Inventory Qty at Plant X * Standard Plant at Plant Y
Stock Value Difference = Value of Stock @ Plant X - Value of Stock @ Plant Y
Plants X & Y need to be input by the user.
My issue is determining the Standard Price at Plant Y.  0PLANT in the cube is tied to the inventory transaction.  Not all materials have inventory in both plants.  I've tried using a combination of Replacement Formula Variable (for standard price) and Restricted Key Figures but this only shows the standard price for those materials who have inventory at Plant Y.  Ideally if I could have a Replacement Path Formula Variable that allows restriction by a Plant (again user input).. that might work.  I don't see how to do this.  If that isn't possible would a Customer Exit Formula Variable work?  Is it possible to write ABAP code to query 0MAT_PLANT for the standard price & standard unit via customer exit?  I'm  not real strong in ABAP so example code would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Thank you in advance for your assistance,
    Teri

I just noticed the spacing got messed up on my original post and it looks really confusing.  I need to show the following columns
    Inventory Qty @ Plant X
Value of Stock @ Plant X
    Standard Price @ Plant Y
Value of Stock @ Plant Y
    Stock Value Difference

  • Formula variable with replacement path on system date

    Hi Experts,
I got a requirement to calculate "Days without payment" in report level.
Days without payment = System Date - Payment Date.
(Payment date field is available in CUBE, but system date field is not available in the CUBE)
As we know, the difference b/w 2 dates is not possible directly. It can be possible by creating 2 formula variables with replacement paths on the dates and by writing aformula on these 2 formula variables.
But the thing is I dont have system date readily available, and I tried by using SAP Exit. But we cant create formula variable replacement path on another variable (SAP EXIT).
Do we have any SAP variable  for formula with replacement path readily avaliable to get system date (or) any other suggession.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks,
    Sai Chand.S

    Hi Arminder,
    Thanks for your valuable answer.
I tried doing the same previously. As u said we can get system date by creating customer exit variable.
But the thing is to find difference b/w 2 dates, we cant do it directly, we need to create 2 formula variables with replacement path.
    1) Var1 = Formula variable with replacement path on system date(custoer exit variable).
    2) Var2 = Formula variable with replacement path on paymanet date.
    Number of days = var1 - var2.
But as in 1st point, we cant create formula variable with replacement path on another variable, as system date is already a variable of type customer exit.
We can create replacement paths only on characteristics.
    Please suggest me .
    Thanks,
    Sai Chand.S

  • Issue - Formula Variable with Replacement Path

    Hi,
Is it mandatory to include the base characteristics in the rows on which the formula variable(replacement path) is based on. As long as the base char is in the rows the variable works fine. The moment I take that off, the variable doesn't produce any result. I know the char can be put in the rows and can be hidden, but then in that case I don't get the desired aggregation level.
Has anybody come across this probelm and managed to sort this out? Kindly suggest any solution.
    Thanks,
    Anurag.

    Hi,
a formula variable with replacement path only works if the replacement object is in the query in either the rows or colums. The data can never be aggregated on a higher level then the infoObject in the replacement path. If you want a higher aggregation you can add a new key figure as an attribute to your infoObject and fill it with the value you want in the loading process. You can use that key figure in your queries every way you want.
    Kind regards,
    Alex

  • Attributes dissappear from the formula variable after upgrade

    Hi,
We have upgraded from 3.X to 7.X. When i run the reporrt, i get the error saying that attribute XXXX for characterstic 0object in variable ZFormula variable couldn't found.
When i went and checked in the formula variable, under replacement path
    Replace variable with
    Info Object
    Replace With
    Attribute value
    Attribute
I couldnt find my XXXX attribute but with error mesage.
I tried to create a same formula variable, but could't find the XXXX variable under ATTRIBTE.
I coldnt find the proper solution or note. Did anyone had issue like this?
    Thanks
    Annie

    Hi,
Thanks for the replies. But my issue is not with variants. Attributes are missing when I try to assign attribute of char in replacement path and also in my exception aggregation in query designer, reference char isu201D-1u201D.  I am not very sure how can it be u201C-1u201D. Is it upgrade issue?
    Thanks

  • Problem with the Formula variable

    Dear All,
There is a need to convert INR values to USD values. Since my source table in r/3 is not having currency value stored i cant use currency translation type to achieve the same.
So i am using formula variable to determine the Exchange rate.
I have created the CKF with the following calculation = INR values / 'ZEXC_RT'.
Here zexc_rt is a formula variable which is a customer exit and of type Number.
Now in cmod i am writing a code to determine the value for this formula variable. But the problem is with data type of formula variable and tcurr table UKURS (Exchange rate) field. I have defined formula variable as Number and my UKURS field is of decimal data type because of which the currency conversion is not taking place.
Here is my code below . Kindly suggest how can i achieve this.
My logic is :- Whenever the user runs the report take the system date and determine the previous month. Then go to tcurr table and get the exchange rate which matches with the previous month date.
    WHEN 'ZEXC_RT'.
    *   IF I_STEP=2.
        CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
        DATA:  v_date(10).
        DATA:  v_rate type C.
        DATA: z_date(8).
        concatenate sy-datum+0(4) sy-datum+4(2) '01' into v_Date.
        v_date = v_date - 1.
        concatenate v_date+0(4) v_date+4(2) '01' into v_date.
select SINGLE UKURS into v_rate from tcurr where GDATU = V_date
    and KURST ='M'.
        l_s_range-low = v_rate.
        l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
        l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
        APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.

    Hi Anup,
I am not able to get the exact problem.
CKF is not working means it is giving the INR Values or it is giving some random value.
Please check your code first by writing a text program in se38 if you are able to read the value correctly from TCURR.
Domain UKURS has a conversion routine EXCRT. You may require to use it to get the correct value.
Once you get the right value in the program, you can use the same logic in your formula variable and you should get the correct values.
Let me know if it helps.
    Regards,
    Gaurav

  • Formula variable for date in report

    Hi All,
I have to display the last date value of a particular date in the report.
    For a better understanding,
I have Customer, Equipment, Service date, Amount
In the report, I have to display
Customer, Equipment, Last Service date, Last Service Amount.
I have created a formula variable (Formula variable for Service date) for Service date with Replacement path.
Replace Variable with Infoobject, Replace with Key, Dimension dates.
And in Key figures, I have created a formula (Last Service date) with Last value in the Aggregation using the "Formula variable for Service date".
The Last Service date is displayed as 'X' in the report since the Service date is not in the row. I cannot have the service date in the row either (not even by hiding the display).
Kindly tell me how to rectify this problem.
    Thanks and Regards
    Adhira Anand.

The X is appearing because, with the drill downs you have added, you have more than 1 date value to choose from when you attempt to aggregate.
Have you tried using APD instead of exception aggregation?
Have you built the exception aggregation calculated key figure globally or just locally (i.e. as a structure element)? It must be built globally to work properly.

  • Formula variable - Maximum Date in result output

    Hello Guys,
    Scenario -
    Data in Cube
    *Reseller      Sales Date*
    RS1          01.01.2010
    RS1          01.01.2011
    RS1          01.01.2012
    RS2          01.01.2008
    RS2          01.01.2009
    RS2          01.01.2010
Required Output - Display one record for each Reseller with recent Date.
    *Reseller      Sales Date*
    RS1          01.01.2012
    RS2          01.01.2010
What I did till now --->
Created a Formula and included a Formula Variable (replacement Path ref char - Sales Date) hence I got the date as keyfigure.
Reseller      Sales Date     Sales Date Formula
    *RS1          01.01.2010     201,00,101*
    *RS1          01.01.2011     201,10,101*
    *RS1          01.01.2012     201,20,101*
    *RS2          01.01.2008     200,80,101*
    *RS2          01.01.2009     200,90,101*
    *RS2          01.01.2010     201,00,101*
For the Sales Date Formula (Calculation tab - Calculate result as Maximum) to display the result as maximum.
The issue is that when I remove the Sales Date from Drilldown the Sales Date Formula display X. I was expecting the result row to be displayed i.e  the maximum value for RS1 and RS2.
Can you guide where I am going wrong... or any other method to achieve the above output is appreciated.
    -Amit

    Hi,
Through replacement path you can achieve this.
    On row side put *Reseller.
on Column side create a formula(and  on Aggregation Tab: Exception Aggregation: Last Value, Reference Characteristics: Sales Date)
and there create formula variable and use replacement path.
    Details
    Type of variable: Formula
    Processing By: Replacement Path
    Reference Characteristics: Sales Date
    Replace variable with: InfoObject
    Replace With: Key
    Dimension: Date
