I have a report grouped by year, with a percent total for each year that is calculated in a formula from running totals:
2004 - XX%
2005 - XX%
2006 - XX%
2007- XX%
I want to add a formula next to the percent that calculates the difference between that year's XX% and the previous year.  So the result of 2007 XX% - 2006 XX% appears in the 2007 group.  The result of 2006 XX% - 2005 XX% appears next to 2006, etc.
Is this possible in Crystal?  Thanks for any ideas-

Seems to me there's a prevrow function that can be used to return a value. Not sure if I'm remembering correctly or not and what the behaviour is in a group.

    Hi All,
    I need to create a formula by Group and based on a condition. Below the syntax is wrong but this is the calculation that I am after!
    Sum({@Test_Dollars}, ) where {Customer Number} = 12
    Basically, I need to display/calculate the 2nd column in the sample report/output.
                      All Customers                    Only  Customer 12
    Company    $500                                  $125

    I think you should be able to get this from a running total with a formula to only include records where the customer number - 12

  • Calendar View: Unable filter Recurring Event by Start/End Time and Group by Recurring Event View

    Hi All,
    I have just found several issues with Calendar View from WSS 3.0:
    Unable to filter by [Start Time] and [End Time]
    I am not sure why these 2 columns doesn't appear in the Filtering column in the View Settings. The workaround found in the internet is to create calculated column for Start Time and and End Time. However, it doesn't work for Recurring Event, the calculated column will show only first recurring event Start Time.
    Unable to use "Group By"
    When I create new view in Calendar using format: "Standard View, with Expanding Recurring Events", there is no option to specify "Group By". Anyone knows how to show all recurring event in List view and grouped by Start Time (or any other column).

    I got this from a colleague of mine so I can't take credit for it but here might be a possible workaround:
    1. Create two new Columns called Start Filter and End Filter.  Make these columns Calculated Columns with formulas of [Start Time] and [End Time] respectively.  The columns should be of the Date and Time\Date and Time type and should not be displayed on the Default View.
    2. Click Advanced Settings and choose Yes to the question "Allow management of Content Types" in the Content Types section.  Click OK.
    3. Click on the Event Content Type.  Open the two columns created in step 1 and select "hidden" for both of them.  Click OK.
    4. Back at the list settings create a new view or edit an existing view.  When you get to the filter section choose "Show items only when the following is true" and select the following:
    Start Filter
    is less than or equal to
    [Today]
    And
    End Filter
    is greater than or equal to
    [Today]
    5. Click OK to save the view.
    6. Open the List view web part that is displaying the recently changed calendar and change the view to the newly created or newly edited view.  Click Apply, OK.

    I need to show in 3 columns
    inside of a grouping that totals an amount field based on a date
    range that amount was posted.  So for example:
    Billy Bob in the state of MA made $5.5m total, $800k in the last 21 days, $400k in the last 14 days and $150k in
    the last 7 days.
    I assume this is possible but I
    just donu2019t know what type of formula to write to make it work.  For this
    example, there are 2 tables u2013 user table and $$ table.  The User table has
    the user name, the $$ table has the pay date and the amount.

    You only need simple formulae in Running Totals to accomplish this.
    1.  Group by Name
    2.  Create the following Running Totals:
    2.1 A running total to sum the pay amount for all records, and resets on 'Change of Group' of Name.
    2.2 A running total to sum the pay amount and for 'Evaluate' click on the radio button next to 'Use a formula' and then click on X-2 button next to it.
    In the formula workshop window type a formula such as: {table.payment_date} in (currentdate - 21) to currentdate;
    For 'Reset' click on the radio button next to 'On change of group' and pick the group name.
    2.3 Create another running total just as in step 2.2 above but change the formula to: {table.payment_date} in (currentdate - 14) to currentdate;
    2.4 Create the last running total just as in step 2.2 above but change the formula to: {table.payment_date} in (currentdate - 7) to currentdate;
    Hide the details section and in the group footer place text boxes with appropriate text and insert these running totals to give you the numbers you want.
    The only issue I see with this is if a person was paid yesterday a sum of $25, then it will show $25 for total, last 7days, last 14days and also for last 21days.  At first look it might be mistaken for $75.

    In order to display a different group name you may try the below steps:
    -  Right click on the group and click on change Group option and then click on Options taband then check the box which says 'Customize Group Name Field'.
    - Now either 'choose from existing field' or 'use a formula as group name' to display the group description.
    This would help you to display the appropriate description for that field.

  • Column displays going down. Need it to go across and group together.

    I have an Oracle report I've created and I'm trying to get certain columns of data to display only for the first row and grouped together going horizontally.     What about using the report functionality itself?
    Create the report as Group Left vendor wise and for the Repeating Frams of field Class_Code set the Print Direction to Across/Down and the Horizontal Elasticity to Variable and for all the Parent Frames same. Then it should work as expected.
    Or keep the report tabular and use the formula column as below...

    there is a workaround you can try, create audience and add DL to them and deal with the audience or convert DL to groups

  • Partition Name in Select and Group-By

    Is there a function that returns the partition name a row is stored in? I'd like to use it in a SELECT statement, if it exists.
    The goal is to get row counts per partition to determine skew on a hash-based partition (otherwise, I'd just select and group-by the partition key). I want to do something like this:
    SELECT PARTITION_NAME, COUNT(*) as PER_PART_COUNT
      FROM SOMETABLE
    GROUP BY PARTITION_NAME;Obviously, I would replace the string "*PARTITION_NAME*" with whatever function returns that value.
    NOTE: Before the forum sharks jump all over me, I did search the documentation and forums, but I came up empty handed.

  • How to update a People and group field using a sandbox solution

    Hi,
    I am creating a sandbox solution for office 365 and creating a custom form using visual web part, which will allow users to enter data in a custom list.
    And that list also have a user field. I am able to get SharePoint user field on the form (using javascript) which is searching for the user and get a value (working fine).
    Issue: But I am not able to save the user value. Because to save user value I require web, UserID and login name, to construct SPFieldUserValue object or string in "111;#TestUser" format. Moreover that user should be present in
    SiteUserInfoList. 
    I tried web.EnsureUser() but did not work under sanbox solution.
    Can you please provide any pointer or workaround to the problem? I may be missing something here.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to update the people and group field in Sandbox solution.
    In the sandbox solution, you can still use the web.EnsureUser() function to get the user information, see the thread below:

    Have you tried running Verify and/or Repair Disk?
    Have you tried running Repair Permissions?
    Do you have at least 15% free space available on your HD?

  • How to change default /Users and /Groups to different Volume?

    Users are created in /Volumes/<boot>/Users and groups in /Volumes/<boot>/Groups.
    We need these to be created on a different volume, eg., /Volumes/External/Users, and /Volumes/External/Groups.
    Setup Assistant correctly put user Backups into */Volumes/External/Shared Items/Backups* and also correctly put web services on /Volumes/External/ServiceData -- we want to do the same for Groups and Users.
    Groups are the most critical, as the group needs bulk storage. Users we could leave as is if it can't be done.
    How can this be configured? We've read File Server Admin, Open Directory Admin, and Advanced Server admin from http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/resources/documentation.html without finding an answer.

    1. Create new folders on the external volume to hold users and groups, but to prevent confusion name them something other than "Users" and "Groups". /Volumes/External/NetUsers and /Volumes/External/NetGroups would be reasonable choices.
    2. Share both of these folders (in Server Admin -> server name in sidebar -> File Sharing -> Volumes & Browse modes -> select each folder -> click Share near the top right).
    3. Enable both folders for automounting on clients (Server Admin -> server name in sidebar -> File Sharing -> Share Points-> select each folder -> Share Point tab under that -> Enable Automount option) with the default options (Directory: /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1, Protocol: AFP, Use for: User home folders and group folders). Be sure to click Save (not just OK in the dialog).
    4. To migrate users, run Workgroup Manager, and change the home location for the users you want to move (select Accounts in the toolbar -> /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 from the hidden pop-up menu under that -> User icon tab at the left -> select the user(s) you want to change -> Home tab on the right -> select the NetUsers option from the "Where" list). Then, for each user, run this command on the server: "sudo cp -Rp /Users/username /Volumes/External/NetUsers".
    5. Similarly, move Group folders in WGM (Accounts -> /LDAP... -> Groups icon on left -> select groups to move -> Group Folder tab on right -> NetGroups in the list). Then, for each group, run "sudo cp -Rp /Groups/groupname /Volumes/External/NetGroups".
    6. Test to make sure all is working before deleting the old user and group folders from /Users and /Groups (do NOT delete /Users and /Groups themselves, just the individual folders from under them).

    Hi,
    I am doing some testing about MDX formulas and performance. I found a performance issue but I can not understand why is taking so long time a report.
    The situation is:
    I create a report or a MDX query with:
    6 dimensions in row and 1 dimension in column
    rows:
    Period - Filtered using a member
    Year - Filtered using a member
    Relationship Manager - Filtered using a member
    Report Type - Filtered using a member
    Local Relationship Manager - 4400 members level 0
    Global Relationship Manager - 10400 members level 0
    Column:
    Account dimension, only a member
    The member selected for Report Type (RM.Local) has a formula
    My Report Type dimension has 10 members, there is one member where I store data called : RM.Input
    My first test was
    RM.Local his formula is [RM.Input] , the report is run in 1 second
    RM.Local his formula is ([RM.Input],[MTD]) where MTD is a member level 0 store in my view dimension. The report run in 20 minutes. I was not expecting so bad performance when I only pointing at [RM.Input],[MTD]
    Do you consider this time is reasonable when I am using this formula?
    The mdx report is:
