Forum on Product Enhancement for OVM

I am a current Virtual Iron user. I am still holding out for OVM ver 3..... The way its sounding, 2011 may be the release date? Virtual Iron had many Forums, one was for customers to give product enhancement ideas. Then techs would respond if the idea was sound, or indicate if it was scheduled for future release.
Is there now, or could one be created, for oracle VM users to leave their ideas for enhancements?

I found out how by clicking on the Edit button. but it doesn't stick. any page change and it reverts. so it's still buggy. please fix. thanks. I really didn't need the nasty comments.
this is simply bug report. you can use it to improve your web site or drop it.
frankly it's been difficult trying to use my computer since just about very time I try to use something it's broken in some way. I have had enough. I want stuff that works and works well.

Product enhancement for confidential BP codes

Currently, I am not aware of a way to restrict access to certain BP accounts, including the related activities for a BP. For example, our bank, HR consultants, etc. where I would like to limit the access to these BP accounts and related attachments to certain users, such as our management group.
Primary importance would be to limit access to related activities where sensitive information may be stored in the form of emails, attachments, etc.
Our previous CRM allowed us to flag BP accounts as restricted and set up permissions to authorized users.
Is anyone aware of a way to limit access to these activities?
If not, this is a great enhancement for future releases.

I thought, that you enhanced GET_I_DATAORIGIN_TEXT by redefining the I-GETTER. For me, this means, that the SAP creates a new z-class which inherits the SAP standard class. In this case you have to assign your enhancement set to your client...
Did you set a break-point to your GET_I_DATAORIGIN_TEXT and checked the returning parameter? If rv_disable = "FALSE" and the DDLB is still disabled, this could mean, that the entity belonging to your field is not changeable...

Product enhancement for SOX compliance to allow multiple email addresses

Currently SBO version 8.8 oly allows a single email address for each contact to synchronize with Outlook.
Contacts routinely have multiple email addresses which should all be enabled to synchronize with Outlook. by limiting to a single address in the contact record, the activities in the contact records will be missing critical history which may be requred for legal requirements onder Sarbanes Oxley and other legal reporting requirments for document retention requirements.
Section 302 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires the CEO and CFO of a public company to personally certify and attest to the accuracy of their company's financial statements contained in periodic reports. Section 404 requires auditors to certify the underlying controls and processes that companies use to reach financial results. Both sections require proof that a company's reported financial information can be relied on - and require companies to invest in procedures that ensure information is recorded and managed in a trustworthy manner, including email. As an organization's dependence on electronic mail continues to grow, the mismanagement of email provides a growing target for litigators and regulators. Companies must ensure that records in digital form are managed with the same care and attention as records in paper form.
Business records must be protected at all times from unauthorized tampering and deletion, more so when a company is involved in audits, investigations, litigation or other formal proceedings. It is therefore of primary importance to copy and archive data before a user has a chance to manipulate it or delete it. Companies must ensure that directors, management and accounting personnel in particular, are informed of their obligation to preserve business records

you are correct, the only way to be able to send to multiple addresses for the same person in a group is to create one card per email address, with a code for the name as in john doe1, john doe2, or play with prefix, suffix or middle name fields to differentiate each card. to date there is no other way around this issue.

Enhancement for Production Order Release and Batch Fixing.

Hi Experts,
I have assigned a enhancement for production order.The user exit is also given in the req as PPCO0001 through which i have to call a Z-Program for Batch fixing using Trans CO01 and release the order before saving once it is assigned to components.
Now my probs is where to start working for the enhancement -is it possible to use any BAPI instead of Batch (BDC) or I can use any BADI instead User Exit.
So if you guys have similar scenario worked on it or have similar example approach to solve it.Please do help.I will reward for all helpful answers.

Hi,
You can use product allocation for the BOM material, this you can do by making the requirement class and schedule line active for PA, associated with the header material. followed by the standard configuration required for PA.
Logically, you should keep the PA active for the header material instead of sub-items. since the Sub items are part of the BOM.
In the item category config you can set the indicator to "A" for "Create delivery group", this will ensure the correct delivery date based on the availibility of both the header and sub-items.

Product ID for second issue of multi viewer app

I've in this forum already found very usefull info about publishing the second issue of a free multi viewer app but still can't figure out if we have to use the same Product ID for each issue, or do we need to create a different Product ID for each issue ?
I've put two examples below, suppose one of them has to right. Or not ??
Is this the way to handle multiple issues (option 1):
product ID issue 1 = Product ID issue 2 = com.magnusmedia.magname
Or is this the right way (option 2):
product ID issue 1 = com.magnusmedia.magname.01

Allright, was in a hurry and tested it out myself.
Option 2 is working for me, hope it's right to handle it that way.
With option 1 the app crashes (dark gray screen, no folio opens, library- en scrolling buttons are available but)

Short answer: Yes, use a different Product ID for each folio (or for each set of folio renditions).
Longer answer: It's confusing that there are three different types of Apple Product IDs:
(1) the app Product ID, which you can ignore
(2) subscription duration Product IDs for a paid app or a single Product ID for a free subscription app
(3) a Product ID for each retail folio
When you're setting up a free subscription app, you don't need to use iTunes to create a Product ID for individual folios, because your folios are free. You just need to set up a free subscription Product ID in iTunes Connect and specify that Product ID in the DPS App Builder. On the Adobe side, you use a different Product ID for different folios you publish, such as com.publisher.publication.2012October and com.publisher.publication.2012November. If you're creating renditions, you use the same Product ID for the different renditions and different Product IDs for different sets of renditions.

Q2: Am I required to purchase Maintenance with the Starter Pack?
No!
Q3: Are all the NOWS SBE components and add-on products included with the Starter Pack?
No. Maintenance is required to obtain some of the component products and product updates. At one point there was a list of the additional products that were available to customers who purchased maintenance but I am unable to locate it, perhaps because NOWS SBE licenses can now only be purchased with maintenance.
Q4: What is the issue regarding product keys for SLES?
When NOWS SBE is installed, customers are required to enter product keys for each of these three products: NOWS SBE, OES, and SLES.
Product keys are normally included with most products when the product is delivered however SLES product keys work a little bit differently. A SLES product key allows access to patches and updates and is provided when a customer purchases maintenance. Novell will provide a temporary 60-day "Eval" product key when a customer downloads an Eval copy of SLES. This subtle distinction goes unnoticed when NOWS SBE is delivered because NOWS SBE licenses can only be purchased with maintenance.
Novell now delivers the Starter Pack with a 60-day Eval product key for SLES to allow customers to complete the NOWS SBE installation without having to purchase maintenance.
Q5: What do I do if I need licenses for more than 5 users?
Simply purchase as many additional groups of 5-user NOWS SBE licenses as you need. For example, if you had ten users, you could purchase the Starter Pack plus one additional 5-user NOWS SBE license.
Note: Since NOWS SBE 5-user licenses can only be purchased with maintenance and customers with maintenance must purchase maintenance for all licenses, you would be required (in this case) to purchase maintenance for the 5-user license obtained with the Starter Pack.

I downloaded the free one month trial of Microsoft Office to my computer about 30 minutes ago. After installing the free trial, Office asked for a product key in order to complete set up
and I did not receive a product key. Can someone PLEASE help me find it. This is my third attempt to get help.

Enhancement for CM25

Hello Gurus,
I have a requirements that I'm stucked on.
Basilcally, we are working on developing a custom enhancement to enable us to run our production orders in line with our capacity. Today,we are basically promising customer orders before generating their schedule and capacity loading. We need to be to able to group, sequence and capacity constrain the planned orders, then promise/repromise the customer orders that are being generated by MRP.
I tried to look for a UserExits for CM25 but there was non. Does anybody knows any enhancement to use on these or if someone has actually done this kind of enhancement for the companies.

Recognizing external production costs for production order

Hi Experts,
Our company is new to SAP and one issue we have not resolved is whether it is possible to attach costs to an Inspection Plan, and ultimately have these costs flow with the production order to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
The objective is to enable us to analyze which specific customers/products require us to incur these additional costs. Any advice you have to accomplice our objective would be appreciated.
We are a Process Industry, and many materials are sent out for external testing. These costs are significant and some customers and/or products require more testing. We currently have Inspection Plans set up for each Material that requires testing, but have not found a way to burden the material with the appropriate COGS for the external testing.
For example, if a product must be tested for the following characteristics, and each test cost is known, how do we get the test costs attached to the production order for the total of $200?
Product 1 Inspection Plan
Salmonella $70
EColi $59
Coliform $25
Yeast/Mold $46

Error in GR for a Production Order for a particular material....Unique case

Hi Dear Gurus,
I am facing the following problem:
There is a production order for a material (say X, matrl type FERT) of order qty 21EA. First we did GR of qty 9EA. but when we are going to do GR for the rest of the qty i.e.12EA it is not happening system showing Error message " Account XXXXX requires an assignment to a CO object".
But while we are going to do GR for the rest 12Ea qty in two parts i.e. first by doing GR of 11EA then 1EA system is accepting.
Interestingly if do the GR for the same order as first by 8EA and then the rest 13EA that is also accepting.
Eventhough, for any other material (of same type and group) if we make a production order of the same 21EA and then doing GR firstly by 9Ea and then 12EA that is also getting posted properly.
What would be the reason for the error message for that particular case?
Here the system is SAP4.5B version, material MRP type is M0, lot size FX & fixed lot size 10Ea, safety stock 8EA, Reorder point 15.

At one point that information could all be found in a huge XML file to support MBSA and HFNetChk by Shavlik. I haven't looked at the most recent implementation of MBSA but I do know that a later implementation of MBSA forced Shavlik to drop support
for HFNetChk. I don't know if they have done anything as a substitute.

From the Safari menu bar click View > Zoom In or press Command + on the keyboard to increase the size of the page.
If that doesn't help, open System Preferences > Accessibilty > Settings then select Zoom on the left.
You can also increase the resolution on the dislplay. System Preferences > Displays > Display > Scaled
