Forums module can you have a logging user return to where they were?

If a non-logged in user is looking at forums topics and finds one they want to comment on. They are asked to log in but are jumped into the general secure zones user area. How can you have them return to the forum topic they were on? I have used a hack to give them a button to return to the page they were on but it only works 50-50 as the trick goes back to a page in a state before they were logged in so the browser doesn't always see them as logged in.
My litte button script is below that just uses the browser history.  Any help would be great.
I heard there is a tutorial in bcgurus i might look at later but if there is anything out there besides that I am all ears.    Retun to the Page I was at.                     Go BackGo back to where you were when you logged in.

Does anyone have any advice for this? So far not having any luck.

Yes, create another user profile on the computer and each user can log into their own profile that way.

A 6 year user of Firefox, and all of a sudden you are complaining about the lack of a toll-free telephone support number?
Mozilla has '''''never''''' provided telephone support, and probably never will due to the cost involved.
How would they amortize the cost of that type of operation, while providing a free browser to everyone around the globe who uses it?
If you can figure out a way to do that, I'm sure they would listen to your proposal.

If you want support in this forum, from the user volunteers who help other users, please explain your problem with a little more detail. And maybe provide a screenshot of your problem, so we can actually "see" your problem and not have to rely on your verbal interpretation of that problem.

  • How can I get my sound settings back to where they were initially. I lost my default device somehow.

I was trying to listen to my music via my Bluetooth Bose speaker and I could not make that work. I went to Control Panel>Sound>Playback, and chose my default device, selected Properties, then Don't Use This Device, at which time my default device disappeared and all of the sound from my computer stopped.  Please help.

    Hi,
Check the link below and use Microsoft Fix it:

Can you have multiple users for one account? if so how do you set it up.
We are using it for our department and it would be great to see who created what form instead of it being all one name.

Each person should have their own account. You can easily share the forms with other people in your department. You will be able to see who the author of the form is.

    Eddie,
There is a forum specifically for Boot Camp & MS Windows users. Because that is where the Boot Camp guru's hang out I'd recommend re-posting there.

If you mean can they share the same iCloud account, yes.  Just be aware that when multiple devices share the same iCloud account, any data they sync with the account will be merged and the merged data will appear on all of the devices.  Also, any action taken on one device (such as adding or deleting contacts) will also be taken on all other devices sharing the account.  Finally, the iCloud backups of all the devices will share the same iCloud storage space.

  • I Have office for mac home and business 2011, can you install on both users on one iMac?

I Have office for mac home and business 2011, can you install on both users on one iMac?

That's often a permissions problem. Try launching Disk Utility and running the Repair Permissions. That may fix the problem. Also confirm that the Office 2011 folder is in the Applications folder at the root of the hard drive, not a folder within your wife's Home folder.
If that doesn't help. post back with further details; your version of Mac OS X, whether you installed Office via a user account with admin privileges or not, and what happens when you try and launch Office from your account including error messages if any.
    Hope this helps.

After you install Apple driver to enable the audio chip, YOU then need to manually download and install (Cirrus or Realtek audio depending on the Mac).

  • Can you have multiple users for your ipad

can you have multiple users on your iPad

We do. We each sign in our out with our own Apple ID's and we can share the same iPad that way.

  • Can you have more than one user on the new ipad?

Can you have more than one user on the new ipad?

You cannot set up more than one user account on the iPad if that is what you mean.
Obviously families will share an iPad, but they are really meant to be single user devices with one Apple ID only on the iPad. Multiple ID's on one iPad can become a bit of a hassle to deal with.
There is no way to lock apps or email accounts so that can become an issue as well. If you use the built in mail app for email, whoever is using the iPad can read your email.

  • Can you have more than one user account on an Ipad

can you have more than one account on the ipad.

    But...
You CAN connect an iPad to multiple Apple ID's, one-at-a-time, if you're willing to share a combined pool of apps, music, movies, photos, podcasts, and perhaps, email accounts, and sync things manually.
First, uncheck the option to 'automatically sync' mobile devices in the preferences for each iTunes account, so that you're not accidentally installing or removing content when you connect the iPad to a computer.
    Here's how we do it:
I have a MacBook with two user accounts and two Apple ID's: "Hers"-used only for iTunes/iPad manual sync-ing and backup; and "Mine", used for all my Mac programs, plus iPad Apps that I'm interested in.
The iPad2 is her only computing device, used primarily for email and web-browsing.
On her iPad2, we have a combined 'pool' of apps, photos, and music.
We use her Apple ID for her email, and to sync and back up.
I use my Apple ID to download a lot of free apps to my MacBook.
In the App Store, I sign out of her Apple ID and use my Apple ID to transfer and update the apps I want to try out. Then I can delete them from her iPad when I'm done 'playing', yet leave them on my MacBook for future re-installation, if desired.
To simplify email privacy, we've configured the iPad Mail app exclusively for her MobileMe and Hotmail accounts. I connect to my email accounts with the Safari browser, or from my MacBook.
    Hope that helps!
I'm not certain how iOS 5 and iCloud might enhance or restrict my ability to manage this in the future.

  • Can you have more than one user on an ipad

I am thinking of purchasing an iPad to replace my laptop.  It would be shared with my husband - so, like a laptop, can you set up different users on an iPad, therefore allowing more than one e-mail account to be linked, different appleID's etc?  Thanks

You can set up multiple email accounts on the iPad, however, and you can set up multiple emails for receiving Messages.
Is that primarily what you were trying to accomplish? If so, then to set up a second account for Mail:
Go to Settings>Mail, and click on the type of account you want to set up. Then follow the screens to input the User Name, email address, etc.
To set up an additional email for receiving text messages:
Go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive, and add the additional email you wish to include.
For the messages setting, you would just need to remember that both of you would get all of the other's text messages....
But Mail accounts would remain separate.
    Cheers,

  • How can we have an anonymous 'User i.d." for discussion group posts only?

hi. Here we are asking a stupid Q on very first post. How can we have an anonymous 'User i.d." for discussion group only? Seem to be stuck with our regular old original Apple i.d. I see how that can be changed, but don't really want to cuz just want to have my posts signed with a more anonymous i.d. name. Should be simple to do, but not obvious to us now.
    Thnx

    Welcome To  Discussions thelnukus!
The Alias of the account you are using, cannot be changed, but you can create a new Discussions Account, with an Alias that you prefer.
You cannot delete your present account. Just stop using it, after you have created a new one.
You can use all of the same info in the new account, Email address, User name, etc, just be sure to insert a new Alias of your choosing.
But your Level(0), Points(0), Total Posts(2), Total Posts Online(2) and Registered Date(12/19/06), will not be transferred.
In the new account, your Post Counts, Points, & Level Status will all start at 0. Your Registered Date will be the date you create the new account.
Your old account, with your previous counts & level, will still be viewable, under the old Alias.
(You really don't have anything accumulated, to be concerned about though.)
After you quit using the old account, those 2 posts, will be archived. What that means is, that if there are no additional responses in the Threads they reside in, the Topics will get continually pushed down on the Topics list. After a certain amount of time, maybe 2 to 6 months, the Threads will be locked, so no responses can be entered. But the Threads will not disappear.
Threads in heavily trafficked Forums, may be archived more rapidly than those in areas, with less activity.
The Topics that you started using the old account, will show your Old Alias, in the Author field of a main forum page, but eventually, readers will have to keep going to the succeeding pages to view them.
If someone were to do a Discussions Search, using these parameters:
Restrict by Category or Forum: All Categories
    Restrict by Date Range: All
Restrict by Username: Your Old Alias
all of your posts, created since about 11/13/05, would be found.
    To create a new account,
Log out of Discussions. You also may have to delete the Apple Cookies in your browser preferences, but I'm not sure this is necessary. Then follow either of these instructions.
-How Do I Create My Account?
If you haven't signed up for an Apple ID for the Apple Store or AppleCare Support website (or forgot your old one), you can create a new account on the My Info webpage. Just click the "create one" link on the right side of the My Info page. Choose your country location and preferred language from the appropriate pop-up menus, then click Create Account. In the resulting page, enter a unique name (such as your email address) in the Apple ID field and fill in your other relevant information accordingly (fields marked with * are required). Click Continue to complete the process.
-To register, click Login in the sidebar on the right side of the Discussions page. In the resulting page, click the "create one" link at the bottom of the page, then click "create one" in the subsequent page and follow the instructions to create an Apple ID. For more information, see the Apple ID FAQ page.
Those instructions, and more info, can also be viewed by clicking on ?Help & Terms of Use, in the right column of Discussions pages.
