Found a solution to Outlook Synching

After trying to get Outlook Synching to work, I finally gave up. This is obviously not a high priority for Apple to fix. I'm using a program called 'PodPlus', formerly known as 'iPodAgent'. It's $15, but it has more features like movie times, horoscopes, and file synching. I don't work for them, and this is not spam. I am just fed up with Apple's lack of support for their own products.

This seems to be an annoying part of the newer OS. When I first got my Pearl in 2008, I didn't have that occur. However once the OS got upgraded, and now with the Tour, it seems like that is the way it works. Not clear to me why they would have thought this is preferable.

I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR THE FIRMWARE UPDA

I'm sure most all of you have had this same problem I <strike>had:</strike> When you try to install the firmware update it says 'Plug in your player'!!? A very frusterating message mainly when your player is CLEARLY plugged in. So here's how I came about my solution!?I endlessly searched on this support forum, and I found that several people had found the solution several different ways!? Then other people have tried other's solutions, and it worked for some, but not all!?The forums have obviously pointed the problem at the computer, and not the player. They are halfly right, the problem isn't what you do on the player, but it's what they do to the player. I figured that there was something that the succesfull posters?did in the mean-time between posts that the unsuccesfull posters didn't do. It also didn't make sense, like others said was the problem, that it was Windows Media Player!? They said that you needed to roll it back, downgrade, to WMP 9 or 0. This made absolutely no sense to me because when I brought up WMP , and 0 for that matter, it recognized 'creative ZEN touch' under the 'synch' tab. After I found the solution, sorry for writing so long about how instead of just what it is: I just wanted to make it clear that this is the solution, I told my dad what it was!?He said that it made perfect sense because when my older brother tried to upgrade his firmware on his Dell MP3 Player, a message said that:It must be fully charged!?Beore you mess up your computer deleting all of these files and waste your time, try plugging your player into the wall at the same time it's plugged into the computer!? Then run your firmware update and bravo!? You are back in buisness!?Here is what to do in a little easier reading format:?. Plug your player into the wall.2. a. Plug your player into the computer.?b. (your player, at least my ZEN touch, should have the 'Docked' screen up. I'm not completely sure how this comes about, but I think that it'll appear that way while downloading the firmware update.)? Outlook synching failure

I was enjoying having my Outlook contacts and calendar on my iPod. Recently, after iTune updates, this no longer works. I get no calendar information and I get only a few contacts as if the sync is picking up the wrong contact list.
Anyone had this problem and found a solution?

No answer, just a request for a response. I have a similar problem with syncing. The annoying thing is that this just started recently, but I don't know after which update I first noticed the problem. I am trying to sync with Outlook 2003. I also sync Outlook with Google Calendar,which wasn't an issue until recent;ly, too. My Outlook calendar is stored on my pc; I'm not using enterprise.

can anybody explain a little what is the story for people wanting to synch their pdas to their outlook desktop.
to my knowledge the synch tool and outlook conenctor don't mix well and sun encourages pda users to use their pda vendors outlook synch software to synch their pda and let the outlook connector do it's part of connectign to outlook.
can anybody tell me where to find a list of supported pda devices (and don't tell me sun locally because noone i've spoken to so far seems to know :) )

The synch tool for Windows and Mac, as well as the Outlook connector are "broken" for Calendar Server 6.
They worked well with 5.1, but not with the upgrade.
What gives? Does anyone at Sun marketing care about this "oversite"? Is anyone working on a solution?
A few more of these lapses will result in a phone call to the Oracle rep.

My Flash CC crashes all the time, it's always been doing it since when I started using it on CS4, and I've somewhat given up on this bug being fixed, it crashes at least 20-30 times every document I create. I'm using a Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen&Touch tablet and drawing a lot, I think the problem is that it can't handle this much drawing.
Anyways, it just crashed and for the first time after reopening I found this nice message from Flash:
"Adobe has found a solution or workaround for the recent crash in Adobe Flash CC.
Please click here for further details."
Excited, I clicked on it! At last, a solution! Amazing!
...but it just points to http://www.adobe.com/
... I don't understand.
What's happening? I'm genuinely puzzled.

Yes, this is not good -- you're already mad when it crashes, then "We found a solution!" But, for me clicking on the link does nothing - no link even to adobe, just a tease - nothing opens.
It's bad enough crashing a couple times a day and losing work (I do save every chance I get), but then to get taunted with this bogus message, it's discouraging and exactly the best 'user experience' for a really expensive product from company that is all about helping professionals create good design/user experience ..
I like the way this is headed though! it just doesn't work right now.

24" Cinema display is flickering every 30 seconds or so. Has anyone found a solution?

I have a 2009 Power Mac tower with a 24" cinema display also 2009. About a year ago the display started flickering, like it was turning on and off. I've got a duel display set up and the other one (older acrylic 20") works fine. I've checked the cords, updated to the latest soft wear, at least I think I have. I see others having the same issue. Has anyone found a solution? This is really annoying when trying to do graphics work. Any help would be much appreciated

Has anyone found a solution to the issue of default email account on iPhone continually changing?

I am seeing an irritating problem with the default mail account, calendar and contacts list on my iPhone 4.
Every so often (I think it happens randomly after syncing or even just connecting the iPhone to my iMac without syncing) I notice that some or all of my default email account, calendar and contacts list have changed away from my desired default (which is my Exchange account).
The iPhone is running iOS 4.3.5 (8L1) and I'm using iTunes 10.4.1 on my iMac.
I found this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1639451 dating back 2 years to the days of iOS 2.1 without any solution. Googling hasn't helped me find any answers yet.
I have 5 accounts set up on the iPhone - a MobileMe "Find my phone" account that's only used for that purpose, not email, a GMail account, a couple of vanilla IMAP accounts and my main, Exchange 2010-based account that I use for mail, contacts and calendar.
Most frequently after a change I find that the default email has switched to the GMail account, the calendar and contacts lists have switched to my iPhone and most of my Exchange account mail folders are empty and have to re-sync when I tap on them.
I know from Googling that other people have been seeing similar issues.
Has anyone found a workaround or solution?

Or at least what causes it (so that it might be avoided)?
I find it difficult to believe this issue has existed so long in iOS without being addressed!

Contacts Don't Transfer All Information When Using Outlook Synching - Zen Mi

Earlier I posted regarding the following problems with Outlook Synching:
. It doesn't transfer any recurring appointments from Outlook.
2. It doesn't transfer your Outlook calendar unless you also choose to transfer your Outlook Contacts.
I now have another issue I just witnessed today....
3. I've now entered roughly 50 contacts into Outlook, and have synched them with my Micro. I find that roughly 5 - 0% of my contacts do not synch over the email address. All other information appears to be transferred to my Micro, except for the email addresses in about 5 - 0% of contacts. I thought perhaps I maxed out the memory in my Micro, but that wasn't the problem. I then thought that perhaps these contacts have too much info, and Micro transfers over only a set data limit per contact... so I removed alot of info from one of them as a test, but it still won't transfer over the email address.
Has anyone else seen that? Creative, any comments on this issue, or status on the first two?

Thanks for the follow-up, Jeremy. In answer to your question, the contacts that don't transfer the email addresses were not previously on the device. I did not update the contact afterwards and add the email, it was already there when I initially created the contact.
As a test, I tried creating a "Test Contact" that appeared similar to the contacts that exhibits this problem, but it transferred the email address just fine. It's just approximately 5 - 0% of my contacts that show this problem.
The contacts I've seen off-hand tend to have most fields filled in including: Full Name, Job Title, Company, Business #, Mobile #, Business Address, E-mail, Display As.
On a side note, when I deleted this test contact from MS Outlook, synched the device, and made sure I selected the checkbox stating "Delete contacts that have been deleted in Outlook".... it never removed the "Test Contact". Is this another bug?

Anyone found a solution to the corrupt preferences issue: CS4?

Soooo, annoying. I don't understand how Adobe can have 20+ years of experience with Illustrator and still not have fixed a few simple things. I keep getting the corrupt preferences warning every time i open ill. I can't find any solutions anywhere for this. What is the deal?
If anyone can let me know how I can take care of this annoyance I would really appreciate it. It's driving me crazy.

I've deleted the settings folder. No effect. If I reboot Ill will present the same warning. If I close Illustrator for a couple hours, same thing. It's a common problem. I've seen plenty of people on the web complaining about it, including on this forum, but have never found any solutions that work. The common suggestion is to either move the settings folder or delete it altogether and have illustrator rewrite the pref file but like most other people out there, that hasn't worked. The issue is recurring. The other is to delete the pref file upon illustrator start up. Still same issue. No matter what, when illustrator closes it corrupts the pref file or when it opens it doesn't recognize the pref file as valid. Quite annoying. So, my recent files don't show up, my keyboard shortcuts, gone, my scratch disk settings, units, all of that has to be redone everytime. My workspace is unaffected though. So really, it's just the pref file. It really is quite annoying. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

This printer used to work fine with Tiger – after a lot of headaches setting it up. Seemingly, after downloading a latest 10.4 up-grade, I lost all functions with this 3 in 1 printer. I’ve done all the procedures on the HP site, purged everything HP on my computer relating to applications, and re-installed the software. However, the printer does not show up on the ‘Printer List’ in the ‘Printer Setup Utility. Error message stating that ‘No default Device Detected’ or, Error ‘Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never experienced this with any other computers and I have talked with my Doctor as well as a specialist and have had an EMG test for capatunel and nerve damage both test were negative

I have experienced some mild tingling if I touch the aluminum case on my iMac at the same time that I touch the metal cases on my external hard drives. They are all connected to the same surge suppressor and are on the same circuit, which is definitely properly grounded. I can't explain it, and I just make sure not to touch them at the same time.
I have never had any sensation touching just one of the devices alone. Is that what you are experiencing?
