FOX: Read Attribute of time characteristic

Hey Gurus,
within my current planning application I maintained an Attribute for 0FISCPER3. Now I want to do some calculations where it is necessary to read this attribute but with standard function ATRV it is not possible.
The execution of the Planningsequence always fails. In ST22 Methode IF_RSMD_RS_ACCESS~GET_ATTRIBUTES is called (* This method is not supported for these info objects).
Does anyone know if it is not possible to read attributes of standard time characteristics ? If it's not I think the best alternative is to create a function module that reads my attribute.

can you please post your fox coding for this one? If it is a attribute of a characteristic you have to include the corresponding characteristic of the attribute (the attribute is mentioned as xxx within the coding):
local_variable = artv(xxx, 0fiscper3).
Did you try this?

BEx Query - Time characteristic Description problem

Hi Guys,
In one of the queries, I have '0I_FPER' as the time-characteristic in the columns section. I have few key figures in my rows section. When i executed the query (filter char. - Fiscal year variant restricted to July - June, 4 special periods i.e. V6), i get separate columns for each month as required. But, the descriptions for the months are July 2005, August 2005 ... June 2005.
They should get displayed as
July, 2004 August 2004 ... June 2005
How do i get the description in the desired format.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am awaiting a solution. The values are not being filled by any variable. As mentioned before, 0FISCPER has been restricted on 0I_FPER variable. The Fiscal Variant is V6. On execution, the following output appears (with user-entry values for 0FISCPER being 001/2005 - 012/2005):
July 2005 August 2005 ..... June 2005
I am expecting something like
July 2004 August 2004 ..... June 2005
I have problem only with the column description. The data appears correctly. i.e. Data for July 2004 appears correctly but with heading July 2005 instead of July 2004. I created text variables on 0FISCPER for all the months of 2004. But no help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Remodeling a time characteristic in a cube - Doesn't allow??

I have a cube containing time characteristic 0CALWEEK. I would like to use the remodeling toolkit so i can write some custom user exit code to replace the values in this field based on logic. However I am not allowed to select this field!! Why doesn't SAP allow you to remodel (change values) in any of the time characteristics in a cube?? Is there any way around this?

You are close to my issue. This is a regular basic cube. (no non-cumulative)
It contains snapshots of an 18 month plan (future dates). We have over 2 years of snapshots. Last year the source system sending us the plan data used a calendar that handled the weeks of 2010 differently than the SAP calendar. (SAP buckets the first 10 days of 2010 in week 1; whereas our company only used first 3 days of 2010 as week 1).
Anyway, we have about 100 million records in these snapshots to adjust the calendar week to match up with the SAP calendar week.
All we wanted to do was to use the remodeling toolkit on the 0calweek field and choose "replace characteristic" and populate with a bit of ABAP code. However we are not allowed to pick any time characteristics.
We know we could always use the old standard ways to move data around to dummy cubes and fix, but that takes hours of processing for all the data we have to do. (actually about 10 cubes this size).
So we are testing the remodeling toolkit by adding a new characteristic that "references" ocalweek and using Abap to populate that the way we want. We can move the queries over to the new field. That seems to be working and fast since work is done using Oracle level commands, instead of data packet by data packet.
Do you have any other ideas?

Time characteristic restriction in BW BPS

I got one question for BW-BPS. This was happened after upgrade of Netweaver
service pack. Before that it was fine. My question is as follow:
Under DW workbench when I create an InfoProvider which included time dimension
that consist of fiscal year, fiscal year/period, posting period, calendar
year, calender year/ month. I try to select fiscal year, fiscal year/period
under a planning level, then I select unassigned(#) time characteristic for
fiscal year/period and save it. System allow for this restriction under time
characteristic fiscal year/period. However, if I deselect fiscal year, fiscal
year/period under a planning level and select calendar year, calender year/
month under the same planning level, then I select unassigned(#) time
characteristic for calender year/ month and save it. System was not allow for
this restriction for time characteristic and generate the following message:
Message: UPC003- Value# is not permitted for characteristic calendar
year/month.
There was no characteristic relationship set for time dimension
characteristics. I still not understand why system is not allow for
unassigned(#) time characteristic selection for calender year/ month
Therefore, I would like to need a support for this. Is it a system error?

Thanks for your guide. I already try as per your instruction but not work because when I create a planning level with only 0calmonth, system still not allow me to include unassigned (#) for time restriction. May be I could explain to you why I need to select unassigned (#) for 0calmonth.
My explanation is as follows:
Actually I already create a planning level with selected time characteristic calender year only for example Year 2008 and input value. Now I want to distribute the yearly figure to monthly, therefore I need to create another planning level and perform top down distribution. In the top down planning level, I have to select calender year/month for time characteristic and restrict the period to Jan 2008 to Dec 2008 and include unassigned(#) for the purpose of running distribution function.
As I have told you in the earlier note which mentioned that the above task was actually worked in the beginning time before we have upgrade our Netweaver service pack. Unfortunately, it not work anymore after the upgrading of Netweaver .
Do you have any idea regarding the scenario of before and after upgrading of Netweaver. Does it affect the previous settings?

How long before Foxit Reader plug-in will be updated?

Well it's tax time again and again Foxit Reader has a security issue. I really like Foxit Reader over Adobe...which is constantly having more security issues than Foxit but then again haven't used it in three years and don't know how it's comparing to Foxit. Anyway does anyone have a guess when the plug-in will be updated. I download a lot of financial information that's in PDF format and now to make matters worse were coming up on Tax time. Is it safe to allow a download if I'm at a secure website?

IMAQdx Read Attributes.vi WRITES .icd file if none exists - AWFUL!

I use "IMAQdx Read Attributes.vi" to load my GigE camera's configuration when the user wants to start grabbing frames. I feed the path and filename into the "Filename" input as a string constant. I just discovered that if I delete the .icd file from the disk, "IMAQdx Read Attributes.vi" does NOT throw an error (as I would expect when it can't find the file I told it), but instead just presses on with whatever configuration happens to be loaded in the camera's memory. Then, to add insult to injury, this READ function takes it upon itself to just WRITE an .icd file out to disk containing the current camera configuration!

See, I don't want the user to be able to run with any configuration except that which is in the disk file. With this functionality I've described, there is no warning that the user may not be running the correct configuration, PLUS the "sacred" location and filename on the disk which should only contain the pristine configuration file gets populated by some file that looks just right on the surface (has right filename, is in right location), but could contain whatever garbage was in the camera's memory!!
I recommend NI change the behavior of "IMAQdx Read Attributes.vi" such that it throws an error code if the file is not found, and NEVER writes files. Writing .icd files should be accomplished with "IMAQdx Write Attributes.vi".

If by "the Open" you are referring to my use of "IMAQdx open camera.vi," then no, it is not that call which is creating the .icd file. The text string showing the path and .icd filename is not fed to any vi until after my call to "IMAQdx open camera.vi," so that vi would not know where to write a "default" .icd. I see in the Detailed Help for "IMAQdx open camera.vi" that it "loads a camera configuration file," but I do not know how you extrapolate from that that it "will create a default ICD from the camera config if one does not exist." Maybe an "ICD" is not the .icd disk file, but rather the configuration set itself.
Regardless, I'm quite sure it is the "IMAQdx Read Attributes.vi" that is doing the disk file writing. Programmatically, I know how to get around it, no problem. I can put in code to go check for the file before invoking the "...Read Attributes.vi," but my point is I should not have to. NI should write the "...Read Attributes.vi" such that if the file does not exist, you get that as an output error. This is the safe and logical way to go. It also highlights my biggest gripe about LabVIEW (which I do like, by the way :-): The "Detailed Help" is really lacking in a lot of ways. Shouldn't "What happens if the file is not found on the disk" behavior be documented? It isn't. You have to write a sample program to tease out the behavior of almost any NI-provided vi. It's a big waste of time.

Reading attributes of different context nodes

I have tried all without success. In GENIL Browser they are not related.
What can i do?

How do I add an e-mail program to foxit reader?

When I try to e-mail a page on Foxit Reader, it tells me there is no e-mail program available. I have my e-mail set up as default on Firefox but it doesn't show up on Reader.

Although there is a slight similarity in the names, Mozilla doesn't have anything to do with Foxit PDF Reader software.

1. I don't have that fat format I checked as I saw this on another answer...BUT...you are right the project was very bloated and I made a new project with the sequence and moved a bunch of projects off to an outside drive and things are flying again...this effect "twirl" was on three clips and this seemed to be creating a problem along with it being a bloated project. Don't know why this effect renders easily then the next second doesn't it's on three clips on the entire project and one or another might not render all of a sudden.
2. I understand what you said about the timeline export...I decided to export the sequence without the matte it was nested in and that sequence did have the chapter markers on the timeline and they again didn't export??? I'll look tomorrow at this it makes no sense if what you're saying is how to do it...the final cut pro book said they should have showed up if I export from the browser and that didn't work either.
3. I then matted that output and rendered it to output but I am worried this will degrade and compress the sequence more than I want by outputting the same sequence with current settings twice???...the couple of outputs I could make nested looked very good as this was one render...however, I tried doing a quicktime "current settings" with the dvd studio pro info still trying to export chapter markers and maybe it's my imagination but the output didn't look as sharp as just an output with just chapter markers???
r. I did look at the final cut pro book and it says that mpeg 2 movies will not read chapter markers anyway if you create one in compressor...if this is true it makes no difference if the quicktime output isn't having chapter markers show up. I assume when I go to author though I can put an mpeg 2 movie into dvd studio pro and create chapter markers at that point!! It seems weird it says it can do it with an mpeg 1 but not an mpeg 2 when everyone is using that for dvds.

* Checked the respective PSA data field which is fine. Dates are in correct format.
* RSRV ran for the particular target. It had error but the jobs were successful till yesterday.
* Data from 01.05.2014 is having the problem ( Which I got from the record number in PSA )
NB: We are running on HANA database but the respective target is not yet HANA Optimised

Record Number 2995 is shown in the figures attached.
I have already carried out the deletion and automatic repair mentioned in RSCV061 even before posting this question but of no use ( I have shown that also in the figures attached at the posting time.
Reporting is fine. The problem is while loading the data to the cube. The loading is fine till date 30.04.2014 but from the date 01.05.2014. The record is error while updating.
The cube is partitioned from month 01.2008 to 12.2015.

Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder.

Foxit Reader won't work with HP Laptop Help and Support Guides, any suggestions?

New HP Pavilion with Windows 7 x64 I downloaded Foxit Reader and installed it and then Uninstalled Adobe Reader to save space. Then, although it will open my PDF's in "My Documents", it will not open the Guides or Learning PDF's in the HP Help and Support files. Is there someone with more experience using Foxit Reader than can suggest a work around? If I reinstall Adobe PDF then it all works again.

Thank you! # 30 Under "Foxit Reader". I went back and set the Foxit Reader as the Default. I'm pretty sure that I did that when I first installed it and it asked if I wanted Foxit to be the Default Reader. Anyway, I think it is fixed.
