FPN - Saving BI Links (KM Bookmarks) to the Consumer Portal Favorites

Hi, I'm posting this message again in hopes that either a mentor, SAP person, or Portal Expert can help. I have received several emails from people looking to do the same thing I am. The problem seems like a major integration gap between Portals and BI.
We use a Federated Portal Network where the Enterprise Portal (EP) is the Consumer Portal and the BI
Portal (BP) is the Producer Portal. BI Report Users access BI Reports from the Enterprise Portal through Remote Role Assignment.
BI Report "Save As" functionality allows you to save a "KM Bookmark" to the BI Portal Favorites. I am specifically looking to save a "KM Bookmark" to the Enterprise Portal(Consumer) Favorites and NOT the BI Portal(Producer). This only makes sense since our users only have access to the Enterprise Portal.
Our users are accessing their BI Reports from the Enterprise Portal and the users would like to save a link (KM Bookmark) to their Enterprise Portal Favorites. Currently, it looks like the "Save As" Functionality for saving "KM Bookmarks" is only allowing (Pointing) us to save the KM bookmarks to our BI Portal.
1. In an FPN Environment can we save a "KM Bookmark" Link to a BI Report into the Enterprise (Consumer) Portal Favorites?
2. If we are in a FPN Environment and users cannot save KM Bookmarks to Enterprise Portal Favorites and can only put "KM Bookmarks" in the BI Portal then how are users to access their links from the Enterprise Portal Environment?
3. Just a note. I think these saved links are called KM Bookmarks. You can see this from the BI Report "Save As" dialog. If you do a search through SAP Documentatiion you do not see a single reference to "KM Bookmark".
4. I have found OSS Note1149597, but I do not believe this addresses this exact issue
If anyone can provide some valuable insight into this Portal and BI Integration it would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone seen any new information on this? The described behavior makes the BI query "save" function completely useless in the context of an FPN consumer portal.
Note [1149597|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1149597] is very little help as near as I can tell. We tested the "fix" in a DEV environment, and while it technically "resolves" the problem with where the favorites get saved, we end up with all of our BI content actually being "published" to the consumer by the BEx tools. This sort of defeats the purpose of implementing an FPN in the first place, even if the requests are redirected back to the producer by the recommended BEx iView mods.
We have implemented a work-around by creating a RDL in our consumer portal to the producer portal's standard "Portal Favorites" iView. However, we're not happy with this solution as we end up with multiple "favorites" areas in our central consumer portal (one for remote BI content and another for "local" favorites). We also don't want to maintain the favorties that get saved to the producer portal.

I have tested SSO both ways and it works:
Logged in to Consumer -> switched URL to producer --> switched back to consumer
Still looking at the default trace it looks like some how the end user is not recognized during the switch.
Any help/direction is much appreciated.

Producer BI portal - NW 7.0 EHP1 SP6 (BI_JAVA SP8 Hotfix 12)
Consumer Portal - NW 7.0 EHP1 SP7 (BI_JAVA SP8 Hotfix 12)
BIUSER exists on both:
Producer - BIUSER is an ABAP user in the BI Backend
Consumer - BIUSER is the SAMAccount Name of AD account BISUER@<company.com>
SSO works both ways.
I checked the thread you mentioned. Though the error in the default trace is the same, I am using FQDNs everywhere and the correct P4 ports. I am able to telnet using the P4 ports between the two portals. The FP connection tests also work.

Missing Producer Portal info in the Enterprise Portal

Whenever we make any change to our Producer Portal, BI in this case, the Consumer Portal, EP stops displaying the Fedeated pages or iviews. Anyone trying to access the EP with BI roles either then gets a blank page or it times out. The EP continues to work fine for anyone without the BI role. The BI roles are stored in LDAP, EP and the BI poratl. This has happened more than once and the option that we are left is to restart the Server Node on the EP. Any idea/help??

The issue you see seems to be coming because of the fpn cache . After you make changes in the produces portal you should clear the cache or synchronize the cache
based on your content.
Clearing the cache refers to roles consumed through remote role assignment, while synchronizing the cache refers to remote delta links.

   Thanks a lot.That link was very helpfull.I followed the steps ie exchanged the certificate for setting up trust etc.
Now i can see the consumer portal details under trusted systems in my producer portal.
   Further i did the register password step.
   In my producer portal when i navigate :
system administration>federated portal>detailed navigation ;the detailed navigation is empty ie doesnt show any option such as myself as the producer.
What could be the problem?

FPN Scenario -- Consumer Portal upgrade to EHP1 SP3

We're upgrading our consumer portal from 7.0 sp15 to 7.01 (ehp1) sp3. Our two producer portals are going to stay on 7.0 sp14 and 7.0 sp15. We're using federated as well as KM webdav (from consumer to producer).
I looked at all the notes and searched the forums and found no one having issues with the consumer portal being on EHP1 and the producer being on just 7.0.
Did anyone find any issues with this scenario?

What issues did you have with having different SP levels? Are you having issues using RDL, RRA, or RAI?
I thought the main advantages of FPN was that so that we can maintain the sync between the the abap and java stacks. For example, we have the following scenario:
Consumer: NW 7.0 sp15
R/3 Producer: NW 7.0 sp14 with abap
BW Producer: NW 7.0 sp15 with abap
As long as I keep my consumer portal version >= any of the producers version, I'll be ok.
I would think that upgrading your producer portal and not having it aligned with your abap stack would cause you more issues than keeping it aligned with abap and having different versions on producers and consumer.

How to link directly to a remotely assigned role in consumer Portal?

For our SRM implementation in the SAP NetWeaver Portal, we need to change the link in the emails. For example, if a user needs to approve a shopping cart, he receives an email with a link that sends him directly to the work item in the enterprise buyer.
So , we have created an iView for the Inbox of SRM. We have agreed with the customer that we change the link in the email that is being sent to a direct link to the Inbox in the Portal.
So we want the user to click on the link in the mail and to get directed to the Inbox iView in the Portal.
We use remote role assignment, so the Inbox iView is located on a producer portal. Users however, only have access to the consumer portal, where they are assigned the remote role.
My question is: How can we make a link that directs the user direclty to the remote role on the consumer Portal?
I have tried remote deltalinking, but that does not seem to work very well combined with remote role assignment. Any tip is highly appreciated and points will be awarded.

WSRP: Relative URL results in error code 404 in the consumer access.log

I deployed a JSF portlet(implemented in facelets) in Weblogic Server 10.3.2 (11g) [extended to support WSRP]. When the JSF portlet is consumed from a 'consumer' portal [Weblogic 10.3.2 portal], WSRP URL Rewrite results in error code 404 in the consumer portal access.log if the relative path (contextPath+resourcePath) of the javaScript resource is provided.
However, when the absolute path (protocol + serverName + port+ contextPath) of the JavaScript resource is provided, it works correctly:

When saving a PDF from a FrameMaker book, is it possible to set document filenames as bookmarks in the PDF?

When saving a PDF from a FrameMaker book, is it possible to set document filenames as bookmarks in the PDF? Currently when I have a Framemaker book that I want to save as a PDF, I choose Save Book As and then choose PDF for the file format. A dialog box comes up in which I can choose the Bookmarks tab and choose which tagged content I want to be made into bookmarks in the PDF file. What if I would rather have the filename of a document rather than the chapter title be a bookmark in the PDF? Is that possible? Where would I choose that option? Thanks!

There are two ways that you could do this. You can either use postscript text frames and enter the correct pdfmark entries to show the file name with the corresponding actions (i.e. where to go in the PDF) or you can use hidden text in FM and the "Filename (Short) " variable in a unique paratag to be picked up by FM's bookmark creation.

The hidden text route would use FM's Color Views to specify a colour as Invisible. This will make the content visually disappear from the screen (and any output), but FM will still be able to read the contents of any text that is coloured with the Invisible colour(s).
1. Pick or create a colour that you want to be invisible. [Magenta is usually a good bet and stands out visually].
2. Set that colour to be invisible in View 1 and visible in View 6. [you can use the shortcut <esc> v 1 and <esc> v 6 to toggle between the views.]
3. Create a paratag to use for the filename and set the font colour to use the invisible colour.
3. In the title of each chapter file, drop an anchored frame that is set to be outside of the text frame [so it won't interfere with any other content].
4. In that AFrame, insert a text frame and use the invisible paratag defined in step 3.
5. Insert the Filename (Short) variable in that text frame.
6. Repeat steps for all files to be included in the bookmarks.
When creating the PDF bookmarks, select only the paratag used for the invisible colour.
Don't forget to toggle the View to be invisible (i.e. <esc> v 1 - this also works at the book level for all files in the book).

Saving bookmarks in the new ABAP editor?

either I'm stupid or something but I don't see how I can save my code boomarks for future usage. I mean the bookmarks which can be created by CTRL + ALT + number and navigation to them by CTRL + number.
The similar problem I have with saving my break-points set in the new ABAP editor.
Could you please give me a tip how I can save it I'm using SAP GUI 710 patch level 4.

All downloads through Firefox are not opening correctly. Bookmarks open up a page with links flush left down the page that do not work. All file downloads do not open correctly with the same issue as bookmarks. Want to avoid losing all my bookmarks so don

Something happened in the last day with FF. IE downloads files correctly. FF Delicious bookmarks open up a page with blue links that look like an outline but they are not my links. My downloads do the same. No virus.

That can be caused by having some bookmarks with a long title in the main Bookmarks menu.
The width of a column in the Bookmarks menu list is in current Firefox versions automatically adjusted to fit the bookmark with the longest name.
You can check the names of the bookmarks and make the longer ones shorter.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Everytime i bookmark a page, it is saved as a yahoo search. not the site address

im using the latest version of firefox. OS is windows 7. yahoo is my homepage.
for example: i type 'google' into the search bar. the search page comes up and i click on the main address for Google and it takes me to Google.com.
when i click on the bookmark 'star', it gets saved as a yahoo search in the bookmark menu and not as a site address

No they're not, Mozilla has no arrangements with Yahoo other than it being one of the 6 default search engines for the Search Bar . You nay have installed a special Yahoo version of Firefox. Take a look at '''Help > About Firefox''' and see if there is anything in there about Yahoo 1.8 in that window.

Link in bookmarks does not show up at the bottom of the browser

Under Windows, when I put the mouse over a link in bookmarks, the corresponding URL appears at the bottom left of the browser. But it does not work that way under MAC OSX.
Is this by design?

On Mac the menu bar is maintained by the Mac OS and not by Firefox, so Firefox can't display that text. You need to use the bookmarks sidebar to get that hover feature.

My bookmark links have disappeared, although the foler and contents exist

I have enabled my Bookmarks Toolbar. It is blank, although in my Bookmarks, Menu the bookmarks Toolbar show many links. How do I get them to display again on my toolbar.

Update on this problem: I noticed, in the bookmarks Library, that the program seemed to have duplicated part of my bookmarks -- there was an extra Bookmarks Menu item, and within it was a duplicate of one folder and part of another, with all remaining folders missing. Whenever I created a new bookmark and tried to direct where it should go while creating it, it was taking me to this incomplete duplicate Bookmarks Menu, rather than to the original one which still has all the folders.
I hoped that if I deleted the duplicates, it would go back to directing me to the original folder structure the next time I tried to create a bookmark. So, I tried this. But, instead, it now shows no folders at all from which to choose where to direct the new bookmark. I can still create new bookmarks by letting them go into the default place, then going into the Library and moving them to where I actually want them. But this is roundabout and takes extra time. How do I get it to offer all folders again when creating a bookmark, so I can direct it to the correct folder at the time I create it?

Replace the link "Create Bookmark Link" for "Download"

When I execute a report from interactive columns in principal report ( published in the dashboard), I don't download for default, because this link not exist. Is it possible to replace the link “Create Bookmark Link” for “Download” (excel)?, Can I add additional link "Download" or "Export" to Excel?

I don't understand what you want. Do you want a link that will download a Dashboard to Excel? Why do you want to replace the "Create Bookmark..." link? What's that got to do with your requirement?
