FR Report export to CSV file

Hi,
I need to export FR Report to CSV file. This is should be done on adhoc basis. For this I have created a command line scheduler. Can we export the report to external directory in CSV format rather than in HTML or pdf?
There is concept Bursting to CSV? Whether this export the data CSV file? How to use this one?
Thanks in advance...
Thanks,
Naveen Suram

I'm not sure there might be a third party tool which could help you export AUTOMATICALLY (or maybe even writing a MAXL report script)?
You can export to xls from Hyperion, but I don't believe it can be automatic or scheduled.
You have to be careful as the xls files that are created by exporting aren't really Microsoft Excel files, they are some kind of email storage containers incl. binary encoded html files as attachment. Those files are basically saved emails containing html attachments, but not plain, the attachments are binary encoded.
(I did this investigation to see if OpenOffice could open the attachments in a more readable way, but unfortunately not).
Cheers, Iain

  • Report export to csv - no data found in report

    Hi all,
I've followed the steps to export my report to a csv file. In the Report Attributes, Report Export section I have:
Enable CSV output: Yes           Separator: ,           Enclosed By:
    Link Label: Export
    Filename: Changes.xls
But when I open it in excel, no data found is the only test showing in cell A1.
Is there something else I need to do? I don't understand why it's not exporting my report - there is data on my screen in the report.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I logged bug however information is not enough to locate the problem.
You can use export to reporting schema in order to get your model exported - in database in that case.
We are not going to extend "export to CSV file" functionality any further - it'll be as it is now.

  • Import from dsv files and export to csv files

    hi every body..
how can I create a project in NetBeans which does:
1- import a .dsv (Delimiter-Separated Values) file content and save it to array
    - the values in this format separated by fixed commas
    example
    "AIG" "Insurance" "64.91" "25/11/06"
2- export into .csv file (Comma Separated Value)
-the values in this format separated by commas
    example:
    AIG,Insurance,64.91,25/11/06

Well, you need to learn Java so you can read files, divide the data by the delimiters, and then write it out as a csv file.
Can't really give better instructions than that...maybe start by reading the basic tutorials?
We don't give out full program code here so you'll need to ask more precise questions. Such as what is it that you're having problems with.

  • Is it possible to export a CSV file in stead of a XLS file in WDA ALV?

    Many thanks!

Refer this thread : Re: How Export to CSV format from WDA
    May be it helps you.

  • Dynamic file name for report export to csv

If "Enable CSV output" = "YES" for a report region titled "Invoices", the default file name is "Invoices.csv". If I have a parameter, Pn_MONTH, for the month (e.g. Jan 2010, Feb 2010, etc.) and the report only shows data for that month, I would like to have the resulting file named "Invoices_Jan_2010.csv".
I've tried setting the Report Export Filename to "Invoices_&Pn_MONTH..csv" and setting the region title to be "Invoices_&Pn_MONTH." but the resulting file name is coming up as "Invoices_.csv"'. I even tried "Invoices_:Pn_MONTH.csv" just to be sure but that makes it "Invoices_:Pn_MONTH.csv"'.
How can I get this to work?

This same method works for generating dynamic column headings from other page items, but I've never tried it for the download file name. That's the problem. The parameter P_MONTH is itself a page item and this is not consistent with other dynamic substitution. Looking at the page source, the export link is
f?p=102:9:8985946323211742:FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT_R2805111921107129_en-uswhere presumably "FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT_R2805111921107129_en-us" is an application process and "2805111921107129" is the internal id of the region. The filename is not part of the link.

  • SSRS to export report as "structured" csv file (of sorts) . . .

I'm trying to use SQL Server Reporting Services (SQL Server 2008 R2) to produce a CSV file.  Row 1 in the CSV has to be a summary row with 8 columns.  The detail rows which follow have 24 columns.  The data in the summary row is "static"
except for a date, a count of detail rows, and a total amount due based on the detail rows that follow.  Here's an example of what we need it to look like:
    HDR,4242,0,1,20150203,25,I,25823.18,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    DTL,4242,0,1,20150203,255092,20150129,989,C,Net 0,Due Upon Receipt,12703,Some Super Customer,1001 Grandview Dr,,SomeCity,TX,US,75012,9729990000,,,,
    DTL,4242,0,1,20150203,255093,20150129,1360,C,Net 0,Due Upon Receipt,23774,Another Awesome Customer,52 Six Flags Dr,,DeepInTheHeart,TX,US,76006,8174445555,,,,
I've been able to get the report itself to render correctly in Visual Studio or from a browser using several different approaches but they all fail in one way or another when I try to save it as a CSV (eg, a header is prepended to each detail so they end up
side by side, header and detail end up with extra columns, etc).
I'm clearly a far cry from an SSRS expert but this seems like it should be easy.  Can someone who
is an SSRS expert (or at least knows more than me) give me a hint or two?  Can this even be done?
thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi there -
Thanks for your response.  I apologize for the delay.  I think the
difference in your screenshot and my scenario is that I have a "header" row of sorts whereas you have no such row.  In my scenario, the first row of the CSV file must have a record type of "TRL".  This row summarizes certain elements
of the rows to follow which are of record type "DTL".  Specifically, the TRL row, provides a total number of DTL rows in its 6th column and a total dollar amount of the DTL rows in its 8th column.  See here for an example:
So in the report shown above, there are 177 DTL rows with a total dollar amount of $301,646.20 and it looks to be in the right format/structure.
However, when I export it to CSV, this is what I get:
Hopefully that demonstrates the situation but if not, let me know.

  • Unable to save the webi report results in CSV file in XIR2 environment

    Hi Team,
We have one WebI report in BOXIR2 version and it fetching nearly 76+ records in the report. The report is running fine without any issues and when i am trying to export the results into CSV file we are getting the error msg (Maximum Binary file size exceeded WIS30271). The file size is more than 80MB and hence it throwing this error. I have checked the Maximun Binary File size that is set in CMC and it is set to 80MB.
When i ran the same query in the database and exporting the results in to csv file the file size is under 80MB. I would like to know the reason why there is a difference in the file size when running the query manually in database and exporting in to csv file and to export the results set in to csv through business objects.

Below are the possible causes to get this error message:
1] When a large Web Intelligence report is exported to CSV format, we get error: Max Binary file size limit exceeded. The document is too large to be processed by the server. Error WIS 30271
    Cause
This error message appears because BusinessObjects Enterprise allows documents to be saved with the limit specified for Web Intelligence Report server settings in the Central Management Console(CMC).
To resolve the error follow the below steps:
    - Login to Central Management Console (CMC) using BusinessObjects Enterprise "Administrator".
    - Navigate to "Home >> Servers".
    - Click on "Web Intelligence Report Server" to open its properties.
    - Increase the "Maximum Binary File Size"(Default value=50 MBytes; Maximum value = 65535 MBytes).
    - Click on "Apply" and then on "Update".
    - Allow the Web Intelligence server to restart.
2] In Web Intelligence, when attempting to save a report to Excel or Portable Document Format  (PDF), the following error message appears:
"Max binary file size limit exceeded. The document is too large to be processed by the server. Contact your database administrator. (Error: WIS 30271)".
    Cause:
This error message appears because Business Objects Enterprise allows documents to be saved up to the limit set for Web Intelligence Report Server in the Central Management Console (CMC).  The default file size limit is 50 megabytes for binary file types like PDF and Excel.
To resolve this error message, you will need to increase the Max Binary file size value.
    1.      Open the CMC.
    2.      Browse to Servers
    3.      Click on your Web Intelligence Report Server.
    4.      On the Properties page, increase the Maximum Binary File Size.
    5.      Apply the setting and allow the Web Intelligence Report Server to restart.
Increasing these values too high could impact Web Intelligence performance when users attempt to save excessively large files.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ssrs 2008 r2 export to csv file problem

In an SSRS 2008 R2 report, the users are going to export the data to: csv (comma delimited) and  excel.
I am using the following to display if a column is visible or not:
    =IIF(Mid(Globals!RenderFormat.Name,1,5)="EXCEL" AND First(Len(Fields!CustomerNumber.Value)) > 0,False,true).
I have set the DataElementOutput=Output for the textbox that displays the value. I have left  DataElementOutput=Auto for the textbox that contains the column header.
When exporting to csv (comma delimited) or excel, I basically want the column to be visible when there is data in the field and the column not to be visible when there is no data.
The code works for excel but the code does not work for comma delimited.
Thus can you tell me what I can do so the column is not disaplyed when the data is exported to csv (comma delimited)?

I don't think what you are trying to do is supported in .CSV files as it only saves text and values.  See the following article:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/excel-formatting-and-features-that-are-not-transferred-to-other-file-formats-HP010014105.aspx
If you open a .CSV file using excel you can use formulas, but if you try and save it, it will not allow you to.  I assume this is what you are trying to do.

  • Blank report export to CSV fails

Using the latest version of Crystal Reports runtime for Java, I'm trying to export a blank report to character-separated values (CSV).  The export fails when I try to call PrintOutputController.export().  Specifically, code execution appears to halt after calling export(), i.e., the call appears to do nothing but hang indefinitely, without returning anything.
Is this a bug?  Since exporting a blank report to CSV would produce a zero-length text file, could it be that the SDK is waiting for some buffer to be populated, but it never is?

i just tried this in 12.2.212.x and it creates a blank csv file. How do you have ur blank blank report? A report without datasource, fields parameters or really anything or a report which gets 0 records back from DB?
    Thanks

  • Ssrs 2008 export to csv file display issue

In a new SSRS 2008 report, I would like to know if there is a way to automatically expand the width of some of the rows when the data is exported to a CSV file so the data is displayed correctly. Here are examples that I am referring to:
    1. In one column where there is suppose to be a date that looks like 12/11/2014, the value of ########## is displayed. The value of 12/11/2014 is what is setup in the SSRS formatting option.
    2. In a number field that is suppose to look like 6039267049 the value that is displayed is 6E+09.
Basically if I manually expand the width of the columns that I am referring to above, the data is displayed correctly. Thus can you tell me what I can do so that the data is disaplayed correctly in the CSV file and ther user does not need to manually expand
the column to see the data?

    Hi wendy,
After testing the issue in my local environment, I can reproduce it when use Excel to open the csv file. As per my understanding, there is no width when we export the report to csv, Excel is just using the default cell sizes when we open the csv. So when
a date value is wider than the default cell size, it would be displayed as ##########. When a number value is wider than the default cell size, it would use Scientific format.
As to the date value, we can use the expression =cstr(Fields!Date.Value) to replace the former one =Fields!Date.Value. In this way, the width of the value is narrower than the default cell size, so that the date value can be displayed correctly. For the
number value, it already narrow down the width with Scientific format. Or we can Select all the cells in the csv file, then click Format| AutoFit Column Width to change all the cells width to fit its corresponding values in Excel level.
Besides, we can try to export to excel instead of csv. Excel format can inherit the column width in the report. So in this way, we can directly change the width to fit the values in Reporting Services level.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while refreshing a report using local csv file

    Hi,
    I'm using BI 4.1 SP02.
While using Rich client, I've created a report with some merged queries, while one of the queries is a local CSV file - saved on AD in some server, and not on the repository inside BO.
While trying to refresh the report with the Rich client, it all went great.
Now, while using BI Launchpad java based app, I can't refresh the report - I get the following error:
"An Internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270) (WIS 30270)"
Should I be able to refresh a report without the Rich if it contains a local file (which is possible to EDIT only with rich) ?
If so, then did someone ran into this error?
    Thank you,
    Or.

First of all, thanks for both of the replies.
    Second,
my problem is unlikely have to do something with permissions from one reasons -
when the report is using XLS\XLSX on same folder(with same name prefix) - the report is running without any problem.
Only problem is while refreshing without Rich while the source is network CSV file.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.
