Frames, Dropdown Menu, and target

I am creating using Frames and a Dropdown Menu--secured from
Dynamic Drive--and I have a problem directing the Menu Item to open
in the MainFrame. I have attempted to paste the code for Targeting
; thus having the target open in the MainFrame, but I cannot get it
right. Can you help or suggest a course of action?

that's the same as this.gotoAndStop(2). so, you're directing the current (ie, the one that contain that code) timeline to its frame 2.
that's apparently not what you want.

Help needed for as3 dropdown menu and html

First of all hello! I have to create a html website for a company. The design i've made is in photoshop ....and i have to create a dropdown menu. The first question is : Can i create the dropdown menu in flash without having to use html frames? Can i link one of the buttons of the menu in a html page so that it loads in the same browser window another html page (if so .... with what function?)? Please ... i need to know ... because i simply prefer to implement it in flash rather then html. And the second big question is : Can the stage in flash be transparent? Because if i make the menu in it, it will be impossible to match any dimensions of the stage .... and i would like to embed it into a html page...if possible without the stage color >..... For opening pages you want to look into using the navigateToURL() function. The help documentation provides information abiout it an how to control the window aspect as well.
To make the stage transparent is more of an html aspect than a Flash aspect, though you can set it up to publish that way. The key is to set the wmode paraemter that is in the html embedding code to "transparent". I am not sure if all browsers supports this feature, but I think more are willing to.

When I select an email address from the dropdown menu and hit return, Thunderbird then fills in a different email address. Yosemite upgrade?

I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite and this new "feature" appeared. I often have several email addresses that contain the same set of characters. I just type the first few characters and then select the appropriate email address from the dropdown menu that appears. But if I hit return afterwards to enter another email address, the first address gets switched back automatically to the first one that appeared in the dropdown menu. The more characters I type, the more accurate it is, but it totally defeats the purpose of autofill if I have to type the entire email address! Anyone else having this problem? And can you guys please fix it? If you select something from the dropdown menu, it should stay selected.

This forum is filled with this same complaint. There is a bug reported on it. If and when they fix it is another question.
Version 24.6 works if you want to go back to a working version.

Spry menu and target window

I have made a html document in Dreamweaver with a pre-defined layout: 2 column fixed, left sidebar, header and footer and inserted a spry menu in the <div class="sidebar1">. I would like the links to open in the main window <div class="content">, but my links open in new windows. I have tried to put in a target-tag "_self", but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas how I get my links to show in the right frame?

Upload all Spry files to the server. At this moment there is no SpryMenuBar.js on the server

All the text in the Firefox dropdown menu and the toolbar menu has disappeared. How do I get it back?

When I try and open the Firefox drop down menu there is no text to explain the different options. The same thing happens when I try and right click, there is no text only blank spaces. If someone can help I would really appreciate it. I have used Firefox for a long time and I would hate to have to stop using it. I can post screenshots if needed.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

Z-index question with dropdown menu and swf file

I am currently using All Web Menus for the navigation of my
site. I want to switch to Pop Menu Magic. The All Web Menu works
fine with the swf file I have underneath it on my page but when I
put in the pop menu magic the dropdown part goes behind the swf
file. The z-index is still the same. Is there something else I
should be looking at?

The dropdown menu and source list look like strange characters

I don't think this is the chinese letters people were talking about, it looks like small boxes and computer type language. Teh songs appear normal in lists. Any ideas?

Yeah, you could try deleting QuickTime then iTunes and reinstalling.
Or you could try resetting the itunes preferences file, not sure it will work though...directions for that are here.

Missing History and Snapshot panels, not found in Window dropdown menu

Both my history and snapshot panels disappeared (LR5) suddenly, and neither appears in the Window>Panels dropdown menu.
This *may* have occurred when I was trying to bring up my target collection (command B). I must have accidentally hit some other key(s), because suddenly I was taken to the last folder I was in.
I'm afraid to close LR and reopen it, in case that makes the problem worse. I really want those panels back!

Folders should not appear in the Develop Module, this panel is in the Library module only
The folders didn't appear in the Library module.
But now I have clicked something else (and I don't think it's Wacom-related now) ... it was something in the Window dropdown menu, and once again, I get the folders back but the snapshots and history are gone! Aaarggh.

How to select an item from a dropdown menu using Enter key

A website I frequently use opens with a dropdown menu. Using my former browser, I was able to select the an item from the dropdown list by hitting the first letter with my keyboard and then hitting Enter. (Think of entering an address and selecting TX from a dropdown menu of states. Often you can hit T twice to get to TX and then the Enter key will advance the cursor to the zip code field.) Since converting to Firefox, the Enter key no longer works to advance to the next screen...I now have to move the mouse to a "Go" button and click it after selecting the desired item from the downdown menu. It's a small thing, but constantly switching back and forth between mouse and keyboard is becoming annoying. Is there an option in Firefox to select items simply by highlighting them in the dropdown menu and hitting the Enter key, instead of having to use the mouse to click a "Go" button? Thanks

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Google should definitely help you with this. I am sure that there may be people here who will guide you through each step in this forum. But, you learn only when you do things yourself. Please take some time to go through the links in google. You will definitely find all the things required to solve your problem.
1) JDBC examples to populate your dropdown.
2) DHTML+Javascript to handle selection/display of fields.
You can come here for help only after you have tried to some extent and not able to proceed with something. Trust me, you should be able to do it yourself.

Custom Brush sets don't save to dropdown menu

Hey! I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on saving brush sets. I've recently upgraded from Elements 7 to PS CC and the way I saved brush sets in Elements doesn't seem to work in CC.
I can make and save a brush set fine. I save it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Presets\Brushes alongside the default "Assorted Brush" and all the others, and I can load them into an existing default set.
They never appear in the dropdown menu though. I've tried saving through the preset manager and the dropdown menu and saving them over an existing brush set but it reverts to the old brush preset as soon as I changed between default sets.
On restart, they stay in the brush set if I load it before closing.
Can't get it to work no matter what I try. What am I doing wrong? :S

Ah, that makes sense, coupled with the fact that the entire menu for external Speedlite control isn't available if no flash or a non-compatible flash is attached.

Dropdown menu not working in Firefox ubuntu

We are trying to create a lockdown in Ubuntu where users are only allowed to use firefox without being able to print, edit/open settings, and are only allowed to use the extensions already installed by us (Java). In order to do this we created a new session in /usr/share/xsessions

When we start in this session, everything seems to work fine. Firefox starts, no menu's in the background. When firefox is closed, the session is closed too. With this session somehow the menu's cannot be opened with the mouse, but keyboard shortcuts still work.
But the real problem is that the users need to go to a certain site which is using dropdown menu's. The problem is that when we use this session, users cannot open the dropdown menu's. They can only select an option by selecting the dropdown menu and use the arrows on the keyboard. We want them to be able to use the mouse to select an option in the dropdown.
We are using Ubuntu 14.04.1 with Mozilla Firefox 32.0.3.
Edit: In order to test this problem, I created a new virtual environment with the same session, but a new Firefox profile and no extensions. This gave exactly the same problem.

At the moment I dont have any preferences locked. The site with the dropdowns are using javascript. But it is not only the dropdown on the site. But also the Firefox option buttons like opening the favorites menu or clicking the 'open menu' button are not working, even on a simple installation with only the desktop session as described above, so only starting Firefox.

Interactivity with dropdown menu

I need dropdown menu for my project. I know Captivate is
giving dropdown menu if i use project>Skin but its skin is not
matching with my project interface also it is not letting me to
customized it.
If i make the dropdown menu in flash and import the .swf in
captivate, is it possible to give interactivity to flash
dropdownmenu to the captivate slides and if yes how to do it?

In most cases you would create this the same way that you
would any other kind of interactive simulation.
You start by capturing your screens using either the training
simulation or assessment simulation recording mode. Captivate would
then add click boxes to the dropdown menu and radio button when you
click on these items in the application you are capturing your
screens from.
That way once you finish your screen capture session you
would end up with a slide that shows for example the radio button
in its default state and another slide with the radio button
selected. Same goes for the dropdown menu.
If this isn't what you require then please provide us with
some more details so that you can advise you better.

`my bookmarks are suddenly in dropdown menu called "bookmarks bar"

The bookmarks in my bookmarks bar have disappeared from the bar - they are now in a dropdown menu on the bookmarks bar called (of course) "bookmarks bar". How do I get rid of this dropdown menu and return the bookmarks to their original positions along the bar?
I don't know how this happened - the kids were using the computer!

Try this...
Click the Bookmarks icon top left in the Safari toolbar then select Bookmarks Bar.
Click anywhere on the right then press Command + C on your keyboard (copy)
Now select Bookmarks Menu. Click anywhere on the right and press Command + V to paste.

How to show an dropdown menu when user click on one point on lineseries?

I am showing line series on the chart, I'd like to give some interaction, when user click on the "point" on the line, I'd like to show a dropdown menu, and react to user's choice on the menu item.

I saw two questions here:
1. I added mouseOver/mouseOut action to the LineSeries, it then react when I mouse over the line, instead of at the data point.
2. How do I know the dataPoint's position and locate popmenu in that place? on other words, how do I have dropdown menu. I tried to use "this" as DisplayObjectContainer and send to Menu.createMenu, but seems not working.
