  • Why do third-party keyboard apps have problems in Mozilla Browser for Android?

I have a third-party app that I use as a keyboard: SwiftKey X. whenever I select this keyboard as my default and start typing, be it in text-fields on site itself or the adressbar, it never seems to get the text right. For example; it deletes words without me wanting to. Words get duplicated when trying to start new word. Suggestions get automatically inserted without being selected. But when I take the systems' default keyboard (Swype, I own a GT-N7000) than there's no problem. Does anyone know what could be going on?

@AaronMT Aurora fixes the issue. And so does the nightly. I'm now typing using my SwiftKey app.
Thanks for resolving! Also I think I might use Aurora as my default browser app. Thanks again, switching between keyboards drove me insane!

  • Session problem using mozilla browser

I am involving an application development.
I opened 2 moilla fire fox browsers at the same time and enter 2 different username and password.
After login, both browsers showing the one user information only,
It is working fine in IE.
    PLs help me to resolve

There is nothing to resolve, different firefox instances share the same session. It's not a bug, it's a feature. If you want two different sessions, use two different browsers like you are already doing with firefox + IE.

  • I have windows 7 with 64 bit. Does Firefox use 64 or 32 bit for the browser?

I have tried the plug in update and it tells me that Java needs to be updated but I am not sure if Firefox is using 64 or 32. Please advise.

I'm not a developer, I'm a hardware/ OS guy so I'm sure my question will get me a lot of eye rolls. but I know personally I've been monitoring the progress of 64 bit browsers especially Firefox, and Mozilla has had multiple versions of a 64 bit browser, the most recent I believe WAS version 8, but now that version 8 will be the next major upgrade, Version 10 is going to be the version released with a full feature 64 bit version.
OK OK I'll get to the point. Why is 64 bit such a huge problem for mozilla that it keeps getting delayed... over... and over... and over? We're talking over several years. Im sure it's a valid reason but being a hardware guy, after a couple years of the same pattern, I finally have to ask. I'm mean even Adobe has beat you to the world of 64 bit with their version of flash. And that's saying something because they were really dragging their feet. (for the record firefox is my browser of choice hence my inquiry)

  • How to change the color of scrollbars displayed EP in Mozilla browser

    Hi all,
When I open themes editor in Internet Explorer then I can see the option for editing the theme for Scrollbar in Simple Elements. But when I open the themes editor in Mozilla Firefox then the option for Scrollbar in Simple Elements is not shown.
How to modify the scrollbar property so that the scrollbar can be changed for mozilla browser.
If not possible in theme editor then how to modify the PAR file of the theme.
Any solution to solve the problem.
    Regards
    Gauri

    Hi SRiegel,
    You're totally right!
If we go further, it is not only the color of page numbers that can be reversed, but all the page content! ... And the effect is truly cool!
As you well said, here we merely apply a different template to the page. Anything else! Texts (and the table) which appear white are still in black color!

JRE not enabling on the browser.... Although I enabled it for mozilla family....

If you are referring to the setting in the Java Control panel then that setting doesn't apply to Firefox (was meant for the old Mozilla Suite).<br />
Firefox finds the Java plugin via a registry scan.
Make sure that you've installed the 32 bit Java JRE.

  • Is IDM cc 7.2.8 the plugin/extension thats needed for Internet Download Manager for the Mozilla Browser family? Do i need it if i've removed IDM?

I had the Internet Download Manager and I also removed it today. I removed and reset a bunch of things cuz my system was hardly working and hardly letting me do anything. I am happy with the downloader i had to begin with but my question is: IDM cc 7.2.8 is an active addon for my sea monkey browser/probably firefox also, but... is IDM cc 7.2.8 the plugin/extension/addon for Internet Download Manager thats needed for Mozilla Browsers.?
Or is it the Internet Download Manager program itself, in full?
I would like to know so I can remove it if I dont need it because I already removed the IDM Program earlier today, and am staying with my old downloader.
I am running out of free space on my system and dont want any extras that arent needed taking up the space thats still available. If I dont need this add-on because I dont have IDM, Please let me know.

    Hello,
As a user of Internet Download Manager, I can confirm that 'IDM cc 7.2.8' is connected with IDM.
Therefore, if you have uninstalled Internet Download Manager, you no longer need 'IDM cc 7.28'
    Hope that helps.

Phoenix and Firebird were what Firefox was called before Firefox was settled on in 2004, and both used "birds" as the logo. IIRC, the dinosaur was used in the Mozilla Suite.
Here are the earliest versions of the Mozilla Suite. <br />

I hope this request for a historical purposes of where Mozilla came from, because those old versions aren't safe to use on the internet any longer.

  • I updated my browser to the last versoin of firefox (31). But I have a problem with mozilla. why tha toolbar of alexa does not work on it?

    Hello...
I updated my browser to the last versoin of firefox (31). But I have a problem with mozilla. why tha toolbar of alexa does not work on it?

After a quick search in the addon.mozilla.org page, it looks like that add on is still compatible with version 31. Please try to [[Re-enable add-ons that were disabled when updating Firefox]] or make a back up of the add on folder in the profile folder and reinstall the add on. • "Classic ReTweet Button For Mozilla Firefox" is not working on Twitter. Anybody else having this problem?

I have written extensively about this "Classic Retweet Button For Mozilla Firefox" and have it installed on all my computers and laptops. It does not seem to be working. Did Twitter disable this sometime over the weekend and this is another of their tricks to force people to use their crappy retweet button? Or is this just a temporary glitch? The button I refer to is here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classic-retweet/ It was developed by Jon Pierce and very useful, saves a lot of time, and works great. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/4848588/

Please bring issues with add-ons up with the add-on developer. I'm going to lock this thread.

  • How can I set a default zoom for the browser (freeze it)?

Hello, there's an option of using the Ctrl + + to zoom the Web page, but it reverts to the Firefox default zoom in the midst which is very annoying. Generally, I'd like to be able to set a certain default zoom level and then only if needed use the CTRL +/- zoom in and out options. So my optimal zoom level is used for all my browsing unless I change it.

I have listed 2 add-ons below for you to consider. I have not used NoSquint, but I use and rely on Default FullZoom Level.
*You can set a default zoom level in DFZL Options
*You can use the mouse scroll wheel on the Add-on Bar DFZL icon to increase or decrease the zoom or click the icon and choose from the available zoom percentages.
*In NoSquint, it says it saves the zoom level by web site/page.

You can also set a "Minimum Font Size" in Firefox Options > Content > Fonts & Colors Advanced".

the back button no longer works. I have disabled all add-ons,rebooted & reset the defaults for the browser and nothing has changed. This happens on all webpages. How do I get the back button to light up again?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
*Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Another possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
