Free music is not totally free, for me

I signed up for the 12 Days of Christmas, and downloaded a few songs. But when I discovered that iTunes Store actually sent payment reciepts (card charges) for 0.00 for each and every title, I stopped downloading. Because then this music wasn't totally free, for me.
My local Norwegian bank charges me NOK 2.50 (about 0.50 USD) each and every time I use my Visa paying card, even for these 0.00-charges. So 12 "free" downloads would cost me about 6 USD.
Why do iTunes Store charge my account for downloading this "free" music? And why do you have to charge every title seperatly?

The receipt confirms your transaction with the iTunes store. I'd be very surprised if Apple tried to collect NOK 0.00 from your credit card. If on the other hand you've had a statment with a NOK 2.50 charge for NOT transfering funds then I would both complain to your Credit Card company and report the issue to iTunes Feedback.

Royalty free music is not syncing with FCP? HELP!!!

So this is an odd one. I've stepped in to help a friend who can't get the audio to line up from Royalty Free Music to sync with the video timeline of his project. It's a ballroom workout dvd where it's all one take. They used the mp3's downloaded from Royalty free Music.com and imported them into the timeline. What's odd is the tempo goes in and out of time with the dancer (who certainly isn't the issue with tempo). So it seems as if the tempo speeds up some and then is a little slower. They filmed this with only her mic on, and the dancer listening to a Sansa mp3 player.
My first fix was to convert all mp3's in QT to AIFF files. When I relined them up...same issue. One song would seem a little more in tempo, then another would seem off.
I would have also thought perhaps a processor issue on their Mac. Same issue with my PowerMAc and MacBook Pro. So I don't think that's it.... WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!!!???

The weak link in all of this appears to me to be the Sansa Mp3 player. It was not designed, nor should it have been, to maintain accurate speed playback. It is highly likely it was speed drifting during the duration of the playback. Even if it is 99% accurate, it would still be a second out of sync for every 100 seconds of playing - which is very apparent of syncing dance moves.
If you have ever seen or participated in a professional production in which music playback is an essential part, you will see the great lengths taken to preserve sync on the set and in the edit bay = with specialized audio playback devices that lock to the camera.
Also, I assuming that the talent listened to the Mp3 player with in ear headphones while the microphone was left open to record voice, so that you do not have a recording of the music in the clear to use in the edit and must use the sound files.
Two suggestions:
1) If the Sansa Mp3 player still has the material on it, hook it up to a camera and record the player playing the music to videotape. If you are very lucky, the player may playback in a similar way (with similar drifts in speed) to when it played back to the shoot. Digitize that video tape and see if the audio syncs any better. Most likely it won't, but this is worth a try and can be done fairly easily and is worth a shot.
2) Manually sync the head of each song, then see how far off it is at the end. You can adjust the playing speed of the sound file in FCP (with the new speed change window, you can just enter a new duration) and you will have to go through and keep adjusting until you get an acceptable level of sync. If the songs were crossfaded, you will need to establish sync then re-do the cross fades between the correctly synced tracks.

This seems to be a constant problem with the free tracks, not being correctly free when first posted. Check back in a day or so; they'll fix it eventually. You might want to report the problem through the form at the bottom of this web page; none of the iTMS people participate here, at least not on any sort of regular basis.

I am in Mexcio, needing to make a nuber of calls to Canada & the USA, many of them toll-free numbers (1-800 / 1-888...) but, my PAID SKYPE subscription has been eaten up by these Toll-free numbers, which have you navigate through voice menu options, which then eats up time.
And of course I can´t get any Skype support beyond communty members issues, that have their own issues with skype & don´t answer my issue directly.
This is ridiculous!
I have managed to get a hold of other websites / providers who don´t even begin to make the money Skypde does, so what IS the money being used for, since customer support is clearly not one of them, nor is good user-friendly websdesign???!!
Completely unimpressed Skype.
Feels like a scammer who won´t allow himself to be contacted. Why? Too busy selling more product to unwary buyers.

I have just tried to install the full version of Anthill to my iPod touch Gen 4. I get a message on the iPod saying "Anthill failed to install" and an error on the computer "OxE8000004". I already had Anthill Free installed so deleted it in case it was interferring with the new download. I can install other free apps but now can't even install Anthill Free. I have tried the 7 resolution steps advised by Apple and have totally run out of ideas as to what I can try next. I am using a new laptop since installing Anthill Free the first time and am now running Windows 7, otherwise everything else is the same. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks.

What is it you are talking about? Are you putting together Podcasts made up of other people's songs where you do not have permission from the copyright holder to distribute them in a Podcast?
If this is the case, then I believe (I am not a lawyer) this is a violation of copyright law as you are distributing copyright works without permission of the copyright holder.

How do I find/upgrade to DRM free Music from EMI

I just read that EMI and Apple have agree to sell DRM free music at a higher quality for $1.29. iTune purchased songs from EMI can also be upgraded to DRM free tracks at $0.30 each. The problem is where do I find them? I can't seem to find search EMI Records on iTune. Is there an easy and fast way to upgrade all my tracks from EMI?

Free Music vouchers are normally given away by Nokia in promotions, contests. so always be tuned to any announcements via Nokia Music on twitter, facebook or Nokia website.
Also you can visit local Nokia store and ask if they can give you sample free voucher.
In India we had lot of promotions in which they gave away many vouchers, I have got more than 100 songs with free vouchers myself , during many contests, online promotions.

The only way to get songs on an iPhone is by synching the songs from your iTunes library, or purchasing them from the iTunes store on your phone.
You can search yourself for sites that offer free music.

Please be aware that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. Most of the people who will reply to your posts are, like me, your fellow users.
As to your issue, first, make sure that you did not inadvertently make an in-app purchase. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features such as levels, "coins" and other such add-ons. Check your Purchase History to see if that reminds you as to what you might have purchased:

If you find that this was an in-app purchase, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. For more information, see:

As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:

They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases, but there are no guarantees.
If the charge was not an in-app purchase that you made and forgot but the charges do appear in your Purchase History, contact the iTunes Store and let them know. You should also immediately change your password for your Apple ID. If the charges don't appear in your Purchase History, they were probably fake charges made directly to your credit card, and your card issuer will need to handle those.

Why is "fill free space" no longer leaving space for more photos or deleting music when I want to add other things

My iPhone 4 with iOS 5 update doesn't seem to sync as smoothly as before. Before it used to allow some space for more photos. Or if I added a photo album toit would delete some of the "free space" music to make room for what I was adding. Now it just seems to cram almost all the space and just leave the music there not chaning anything with each sync.

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings, so if you have songs on your iPod that aren't on iTunes you will lose them if you have no back up. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. Choose no and it will default to manual mode and from there you can choose the selected playlist option: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

I would presume you can pay and gift the album as you would any other album, even though the album is your own. Not having any content in the iTunes Store, though, I haven't tried it. You probably can't gift it at no charge to yourself, though, if that's what you mean. I'm not aware of any program in the iTunes Store where you get "gratis" codes you can give out. If you want to give your music to a few people free to both them and you, you'll proably need to get the music to them in some other way.

The offer of free music downloads from OVI for limited period with N8 not working. Documents state that you can use 1 pc and 1 phone, download on pc and copy to the authorised handset. Well this is not working. So another bs sales gimmick......????

I have contacted my local care and they say my device is not an unlimmited music device but the packaging says otherwise and I also got a booklet in the box with an activation key which should give me 6 months unlimmited downloads.
My phone was already swapped out once as I was told it was a software problem but I have the same issue with the new phone. Both were in sealed boxes that were opened in front of my eyes.

I have now been waiting almost 2 weeks and still cannot activate my subscription. I got a call from local nokia rep today who asked me to take my phone to a nokia agent who will help me activate it.
I am sorry to say but I am not convinced that he will be able to activate it for me. If nokia says the device is not an unlimmited music device then no reseller agent will be able to activate it will they?
@ThreeOs How does the verification/activation happen does the phone send IMEI number to OVI when trying to activate or is it somehow embedded into the phone.
