I have a requierment in which i have to give a field which can accept long text.The length should not be limited.means Free text field.
Can any one help me.

From the Screen design perspective ;
Try placing a Text Edit Control in the custom Infotype.
DATA line_len TYPE i VALUE 60. "--- The length you define

*2) ---- Attach Text Edit to Custom container

We had created a custom infotype 9003, for entering service related details of the govt.employees. Here in the req had a field regarding for Physically Handicap with only possible anwers as yes or no. so i went on creating two different field in the structure PS9003 two fields ZPHYC_Y & ZPHYC_N each having 1 character as input. after this i converted these two input fields to Radio button & combined them in group using Screen Painter also assigned a single function code to these two radio button. Now my other requirement is upon selecting Yes radio button a second field displaying a dropdown box of possible Phy.Category should be displayed. & upon selecting No the Box should remain greyed out. This is a typicall HR Requirement Please provide your suggestions

I have resolved this ticket by creating a subscreen inside the original Infotype screen & calling the custom visibility function module & at there doing LOOP AT SCREEN in PBO event of the subscreen.

Adding few new fields to Custom infotype already developed

Hi
I have a requirement to add new fields to already available custom infotype. I have to edit the PS structure and add few fields there and activate it. My question is, when I tick on "Generate Objects" after maintaining the PS structure, it will show pop up boxes asking whether to overwrite those objects already exists, shall I tick it or exit? Because the code is already written in the module pool for some validations,if I regenerate the objects, will the complete code will be erased?
Please guide me in this regard.

Hi,
Yes you need to regenerate objects, for changes to reflect.
Since the objects are regenrated, the custom validation codes should get overwritten.
To be on safe side, you can copy this infotype to a dummy infotype and regenerate the code and check.

We have search help and list box as 2 different options.
At a time we can make a field a list box or a search help.List box is restricted and we can pick values from the defined list whereas in search help we can allow more entries and then validate the value entered later.
Implementing a listbox or search help in infotype is same as that of implementing it in a modulepool .
for search help..we can create a custom search help or check for existing search help in se11
then in the screen on infotype field..assign the search help direcly at the screen painter level..
double click on the field in screen painter -> change mode and then in the space for "search help" enter the search helps name
for list box..in the screen painter ,make sure the field is selected as list box..then in PAI of screen we do a
(Process on value-request..field fieldname module module name)..check syntax and other details...
Using function module vrm_set_value fill the field and populate it as required

Defaulting Values on checkboxes in a custom infotype

Hi all
I am making a custom infotype , In which i have some check boxes . i want , When i save the infotype , If i checked certain check box , its value in the PA9XXX table should be stored as 'YES' else "No'.
When I am writing logic for this in any of the modules , It is not working .
When i am trying the user exit EXIT_SAPFP50M_002(component PBAS0001)
Its working for 'No' but not for 'Yes'.
i.e if the check box is checked , I am not able to get 'Yes'.
Can any one plz help me on this .

Error while creating a query for my custom infotype

Hi,
I have created a custom infotype with fields currency amount and currency field .
While I am creating a query for it its giving an error
Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221 Error when generating the report(see long text )
I tried to execute the standard program RPUMS40CCI but still I am facing same error .
I have also maintained table T777i for my infotype but still problem exists.

Error while editing an automaticlly populated record of a custom infotype

hi,
a query in HR ABAP.
i have created a custom Infotype to store the CTC details of an employee. this custom IT needs to get the records auto populated, when they are created in Infotype 0008.
i have used the exit. EXIT_SAPFP50M_002 inside which an include program is written :ZXPADU02
using this, the records made to get create automatically in the custom IT.
but when we try to modify or delete those records thru the tcode PA30,
it does not allow to do so and throws a standard error message. as below.
Specified subtype is invalid
Message no. PG088
please help me out to fix this issue.

the exact point of the std error is,
i do the folowing steps.
1)_ for auto creating a record in custom IT Pa**** , i goto transaction, PA30, create record in IT 0008 with a basic Pay., click on save.
on saving , the EXIT_SAPFP50M_002 is called where i ve written a Z inlcude Program, which inserts the record in custom IT PA****. this is successful.
2) when i try to change or delete the same record which i ve created as above, through the Tcode PA30 for custom IT, PA
****, i get the error.

Hi,
Steps to create a HR Infotype:
1) Go to Transaction PM01.
2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create (Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
3) Select the 'Employee Infotype' radio button.
4) Select the 'PS Structure Infotype'.
5) Click on Create... A separate table maintenance window appears...
6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
7) Save and Activate the PS structure
8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
9) Click on 'All' push button. It takes a few moments.
10) Click on 'Technical Characteristics'. Infotype list screen appears
11) Click on 'Change'(pencil) button
12) Select your Infotype and click on 'Detail' (magnifying glass) button
13) Give 'T591A' as subtype table
14) Give 'T591S' as subtype txt tab
15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
17) Click on 'Infotype Characteristics' ... Infotype list screen appears
18) Click on 'Change' (pencil) button
19) Click on 'New Entries'
20) Enter your Infotype number and short text
21) Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotype's infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference to fill yours)
22) Save your entries.
23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement...
25) In the PM01 initial screen...Select 'Screen' radio button and give 2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
26) In the next screen.. Select 'Layout Editor' and click 'Change'.
27) Screen default layout appears...here you can design/modify the screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
28) Save and activate. (Don't forget to 'Activate at every level)
Subtype Creation :
Transaction PM01 Goto Subtype Characteristics. Click on Append and then subtype. Enter the name and description of subtype on screen.
Then goto technical Characteristics and maintain the details of subtype there. I.e name of subtype i.e. component name defined in PSnnnn. Subtype table is T591A.
Subty.text tab is T591S and time const tab is T591A.

Custom Infotype - Using Table control in the screen. IN OM

I am having a requriement where in I need to create a custom infotype using table control in the screen. I have to create this in OM and I am using PPCI transaction to create the info type. I am able to create the infotype with fields but not table control. Please let me know if any one of you came across and help me with the process I need to follow.

Hello,
After you create the info type throug PPCi, you can directly go to the Sceen module program created automatically while creating Info type and edit the screen.
activate it after your changes.

With screen 2000.
which is having tab strips, I have build the screens refering to p9030-zztest its not storing in database.

Hi,
Your question is not clear for me. Since it is a TEM infotype, it could be a PD infotype.
If you wish to create a PD infotype, use transaction PPCI to create the infotype.
But before that you need to create a structure HRInnnn (where nnnn is the infotype number) with all the fields relevant for the infotype.
If you wish to create a PA infotype, use transaction PM01 to create the infotype.
But before that you may be required to create a strcuture PSnnnn (where nnnn is the infotype number) with all the fields relevant for the infotype.

i have created a custom infotype which has 2 subtypes . certain fields should not be displayed when we select the subtypes. i have used the code below. the screen contains a table.

Need to create maintenance view for a custom infotype

A custom infotype 90XX is created. The data cannot be modified or created through PA30 in this infotype. Through PA 40 actions only we can create/change the record/data. We have created some 1000 records in it. Now can we create a maintenance view for the infotype so that we can create, delete or change the data in the infotype as and when we want.

Module pool F4-Help problem for a field in custom Infotype(HR).

Dear Gurus,
I have created a custom Infotype and fields are like
P9015-NAM01.
P9015-NAM02.
P9015-NAM03.
all are fields for name.
I want F4 help for these fields with values same as Family Members-First name given in 21 Infotype .
for all 3 fields same f4 help values.
But when i see in the screen for first field the values are populating as selected but for second field the selected value is not picking..

Write the FM inside,
at selection-screen on value-request for <nam1>.
It seems that you are calling the funtion module for only first field. Repeat it for other two fields also-
at selection-screen on value-request for <nam2>
call FM.
at selection-screen on value-request for <nam3>
call FM.
