Freeze page position when tree expands
I have a tree with quite a few nodes. I scroll down the page . When I expand a node by clicking on the (+) I am taken back to the top of the page. This is very annoying. How do I stay in the same page position where the node is when I click on a node and expand it?
I am aware of the X_POS, Y_POS scroll javascript code but it seems that the page is not submitted to set these items when you click on the (+).
Any ideas are welcome.

Hi Paul,
I did that by updating the template settings on the Tree definition itself (click on the Tree link for your region to get to this).
In the Before Tree setting, I added the following above the TABLE tag:
<div style="height:200px; overflow-y:scroll;">and in the After Tree setting, I added the following below the close TABLE tag:
</div>Obviously, you can change the height to any value you need. You can also add in a width style as well, if required.

Tree expand/contract refreshes page
Hi I'm using APEX version 3.1. I have a question regarding a tree. When I expand or contract the tree, the page will refresh. When that happens all my fields which
contain freshly entered data will lose that data.
Is there a simple method to avoid this kind behavior? I can think of a java script which builds the url but I'm hoping for something less complex.

PatrickInstead of reloading the page, try submitting it (and not clearing its cache). That should save the item values.

Problem description:
(MacBook Pro 15” late 2008, OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 installed, no pending updates) computer is running very slow - takes 2-3 minutes to open apps such as Pages, even when no other apps are open. Randomly freezes and becomes unresponsive, requiring forced power down. Randomly logs off. Removed Kodak AIO software via Clean My Mac2, but BonjourAgent still there and requesting access. Cleaned weekly with Clean My Mac2 and running Sophos AntiVirus. 2GB memory installed. Currently 169.99 GB available of 249.2 GB capacity.

WHEN-TREE-NODE-EXPANDED not fire with keyboard in FORMS 10G
I have a Hierarchical Tree. When i click in any node with mouse, works fine.
When i use the key rigth and left of the keyboard, the tree expanded, but not fire the WHEN-TREE-NODE-EXPANDED.
In FORMS 6i works fine.It's a bug 4509399. There is a oneoff patch on Metalink:

Freeze or stall when trying to open a new internet page
My Mac has started to freeze or stall when trying to open a new page. It seems to have gotten worse lately. Is it being caused by my internet provider or something in the Mac?
Which browser & version are you using? If Safari, post in their forum area. If 3rd party, post in their forums on their website.
Call your ISP to determine if the issue is on their end.
It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.

Keep layout position when using Find/Change?
When using Find/Change in InDesign CS4, each occurrence of the "Found" material is centered in the window, so the page moves around with each find. Is there a way to keep the page in a fixed position when searching through a document?
Actually, I can think of a shortcut for the hard part: The user uses the
regular find/change UI to make all their settings. Then, they run the
script, which will simply use the settings in the UI. Nice, huh! So you
could get a listBox of all the finds -- select the entry and you get
taken to the desired location. Click the "change" button and the change
is made. Here's a proof of concept:

Obviously very rudimentary: but this does work in CS4. If the list is
too long, though, the change button will disappear off the bottom of the
screen. Also, really once the change is made, the item should be removed
from the list, but there's a bug in CS4 that makes it impossible to do
that simply, if I recall correctly (or was that only a tree list?)
Also, I have found that the only sure way of getting the entire spread
to show is as I've done it above (and it would need much more error
checking than this -- for instance, overset text).

I have a tree which works a treat - in the link I have the following
'f?p=&APP_ID.:1:&SESSION.::::P1_ID:'||id||':#'||ID LINK,
so that when the text is clicked, the page loads with the text at the top of the tree region (my tree is several pages high if all nodes are opened).
However, when I expand a node, using the [+] link, it appears that the link is not using the anchor bookmark above and so if I open one too far down, the region has to be scrolled. Has anyone modified the template to do this please?

[UIX] Tree - expanded state problem
Hi,
I'm experiencing problemswith my UIX Tree.
In my tree I expanded some nodes (so I can view its contents :))
Normally when I browse to some other pages and come back to the page containing the tree, it remembered the state in which I left it (same nodes still expanded). When I decide to insert new data (through a form page)to the database of which the tree 'feeds' itself, I get errors when browsing back to the page containing the tree, because it remembers its last state (which is nolonger valid, because of new records).
What I want is that I can go back to the page containing my tree, with the tree refreshed (containing my newly inserted data) and still leave those nodes expanded that expanded earlier.
Is this possible? (And is my problem clear? ;) )

PhilipI'm afraid our proxy does not support mutable trees. The only way to have it work at all is to create a new proxy when you mutate the tree data, which means you will not be able to save the expanded/collapsed state.
This won't help you now, but ADF UIX is being migrated to ADF Faces which is based on JSF. In that realease mutable trees will be supported. There are early access releases of ADF Faces available here if you're interested:

It runs ok, but my request is:
Keep items (children) of TNT_NODE expand (open) when tree reload or Load and expand current node automatically when tree is reloaded.
Please give me your advice.

I am not sure wether you have binded the prperties like 'Is child', 'Expanded', "Parent Key ', 'Key', or not . If you have binded these values then when the child elements are loaded then when u are loading the child elements then you can append the value as expanded 'abap_true' or as ' X' that means when u try to upload the child elements then the the child elements will be expanded defaultly.

On my computer the actual page you write on in pages is stuck to the left hand side of the program, no matter how wide i make the window. Is there a way to change this so that the page position is centered? And if there is a way, why isn't it more handicap accessible so that stupid people like me who can't find it can find it? =)

I don't know how you could ask for more. It's very consistent.
If i open a template it opens and is "stuck"... it is however consistent in that it is till stuck the next time i open it haha. Are you sure it opens in the middle of the pages window? if you expand your windows width does the page stay centered in the window? In that case it has to be a matter of finding the right settings...

How to put a page break when a value changes
Hi there, I am very new to BI Publisher. I realize this is a really SIMPLE question, but I can't seem to find a CLEAR answer.
I have a set of data that I have a repeating group for in my RTF template and it works great. But I want to have a page break each time one of the values changes and I cannot figure out how.

I want the g_item_no (repeating group) to have a page break each time LOCATION changes.You can declare two variables, to hold the previous and current LOCATION values and break the page when it differs.
Or just before your end-for-each, have this code.

Problem description:
Computer takes a long time to fire up. Spinning ball is seen during start up, sometimes when login dialog box, and sometimes after entering login password. My mac freeze often, especially when using Lightroom…. Help is much appreciated!

Classic freezes or stalls when started in OS X 10.4.6

The classic environment freezes or stalls when it is started from OS X 10.4.6. In the expanded classic window pane, the smiling mac on the grey background appears, then the "welcome to Mac OS" appears (Mac OS 9.1). The blue progress bar at the top shows only a small sliver of blue on the left, and the progress bar does not advance at all. After many minutes, 10 or 15 so the classic window closes, perhaps a time-out limit, and has not started.
Mac OS X 10.4.6 was just recently installed on our Mac G4 from CD (4 CDs) rather than the OS X DVD, since we only have an internal CD drive. Our Mac is a 733 MHz PowerPC G4 (2.0) with 1 CPU; 512 MB SDRAM, 1 MB L3 cache, and 32 GB of available disk space. Let me know if other details would help with a diagnosis.
I have tried the suggestions given in the other forum articles that talk about the classic envirionment freezing or stalling such as:
blessed the Mac OS 9.1 system folder,
rebuilt the desk top,
removed the OS 9.1 servers folder,
turned off extensions in the classic options,
disconnected all external devices,
searched for the DivX folder, but didn't find it.
Are there other things I should try to permit classic to start from OS X?
Other forum articles seem to indicate that starting up classic in OS X allows older software to run in OS X. Is that true, or am I missing something?
By changing the start up disk to OS 9.1 the Mac will boot up directly to OS 9.1 (the previous OS used for many years) without any problem. Our current work around for older applications is to change the start up disk and boot up directly to OS 9.1.
Your advice and help is appreciated. My goal is to be able to start the classic Mac OS from OS X to run old applications like MS Office. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your reply to my question. I'll try to describe how I start classic in more detail. I have tried starting classic from the top menu bar icon (and from the classic system preferences form), and by trying to directly start an OS 9 application (like Word or Excel).
When I launch classic from the top menu bar icon a new window opens with the "smiling mac" on the grey background followed by the "welcome to Mac OS". At that point nothing else happens for a long time (no progress bar movement, no other forms or windows opening), in excess of 10 to 15 minutes. If the classic form closes after the long wait, the classic system preferences form still has a "start" button, so I presume that classic has not started. OS 9 applications do not start at that point. Should the progress bar move while classic is loading? I'm pretty sure that the blue progress bar in the classic window never moves, even when the classic window closes.
When directly opening an OS 9 application like Word or Excel the classic window opens, but again no change to the progress bar and the classic window stays open for a long time. The OS 9 application does not start.
Does this description help? Let me know if I can provide more details of what happens. I would be glad to try any tests you suggest, and report on the outcome, to help diagnose this problem. I can also try upgrading to OS 9.2.2; can you point me to an easy way for that upgrade? I'll check around the apple web site too.
Since the Mac can be booted up directly to OS 9.1 or OS X (by selecting the startup disk) it seems like there may be something that is interfering with classic being launched from OS X. Perhaps there are other files or preferences that can be disabled or removed in hopes of removing the interference and gettting classic to launch?

Multiple Page flowed form with expandable field, causing a blank page
I have a 3 page form with an expandable field on page 1. I've set the pages up as flowable with positioned subforms and everything is working well, until you type a lot of info into the expandable field and it moves everything else in page 1 down to page 2, the problem appears after the text is moved, there is a huge blank space after the text that was moved. Basically the rest of the information is moved to page 3 and then there is a page 4. Hope this makes sense.

I'd just like the pages to flow together so if the expanded box moves to the next page the sections just continue to follow without a huge blank space on page 2.It sounds as if some of your content is set to not allow page breaks within it. Have you checked all containing sub forms for the option below?

Pages 'jump' when switching in Google Chrome
On a site I've created with GoLive CS2 some pages are in different screen positions when switching from one page to another - but only in Google's Chrome browser. It's only be a few pixels but the effect is very noticeable. I'm using auto margins that centre the page on screen and if viewed in IE8 or Firefox they are fine - they all stay in exactly the same position on screen. I've look through the HTML on th epages that do this but can't find anything that's different.
Has anyone else encountered this? And why is it only certain pages that move?Thanks for your feedback and I think it's what's happening on my pages - the appearance of the scroll bar causes the space at the sides to change so it 're-sizes' which causes the slight movement. Obviously IE and Firefox allow for this in their code but Chrome doesn't.
My site (at www.roosterad.com) is designed with a fixed centre (the website) and elastic sides (the grey space) so it always centres on the page regardless of browser size/resolution. Do you know if there's any way to prevent the issue without loosing this flexibility?
