Front Row & Leopard - app will not start via remote or via Applications

I recently upgraded to Leopard. Front Row does not start via either remote or the Applications folder. I get "Application Front Row quit unexpectedly" dialogue box repeatedly. Anyone else seeing this? What can I do? I get the following Report:

I would suggest you use the Accounts System Preferences to create a new user. Log out and log in as the new user. Does the same thing happen to the new user? If so, you have a system-wide problem that may require re-installing Mac OS X. If they don't encounter the same error, then there's some preference or setting in your user's folder that's causing the problem. I'm not really sure, but the "missing image" line at the bottom would seem to me something that might require you to re-install Mac OS X...

Settings (and other Apps) Will Not Start (Metro)

This morning most Modern Apps will not start on my system, including the Settings app. It seems to be a DCOM failure and seems directly related to this old thread.

This is a current Windows 8.1 installation, full up to date on patches, and the problem still occurs after rebooting. I checked for newly installed patches, etc. and the only thing recent was the Windows Defender definitions update.
It's an i7 with 32 GB of RAM, fast SSD's etc. I don't believe this is a hardware problem in any way.

That matches almost exactly with the referenced thread. But that thread never seemed to give a set of steps to resolve the issue (other than doing a Refresh which would be a catastrophic waste of time, reinstalling my whole development environment).
I really would appreciate some help resolving this issue. If I'm in the wrong forum, please move or suggest a more appropriate place.

App will not start update

Esquire magazine app will not start. There is an update. I tap it to download, it goes to the revolving circle for a second and then reverts to the update button.
Esquire also has an app for the iPhone. I'd like to download it, but the exact same thing happens when I tap the download button on my iPhone.
Other apps have been updating and downloading correctly on both devices.

It may be worth getting in touch with the App Developer regarding this in the first instance. You can get their details from the App page for the app in question. As this is happening on both iPad and iPhone it's likely to be a bug in the app.

IMac G5 Leopard - Apps will not quit or force quit

I upgraded my son's iMac G5 to Leopard. Almost immediately there were problems using app that access the internet - Safari, iTunes Store, and World of Warcraft. The problem is that when I or my son tries to quit the application, it refuses to quit, and will not force quit either. Then, the application will not relaunch until the iMac is shut down - usually this requires pressing and holding the power button, as the system just hangs up.

You might have been okay with an Archive and Install ...
I don't think anyone should do an upgrade install on a major update unless they absolutely have to ..
If you have done an Archive and Install and things still aren't working right ... before you resort to a Erase and Install I recommend trying this ...
Leopard Update Problems?
Repair Your Disk ...
Quit all open applications. Put your install 1 DVD disk in the optical drive. Go to System Preferences/ Startup Disk and choose the install DVD disk to restart from and then restart. When the Welcome screen appears after choosing your language ... don't go any further. Go to the top of the screen and you will see "Utilities" as one of the menu items. In utilities choose disk utility. On the left side of the window choose the top icon of a hard drive on the list. To the right pick "First Aid" and go directly to "repair disk". Don't bother verifying. After the disk is repaired ... go up to the top left of the screen and under Disk Utility choose "Quit". Then go under Mac OS X Installer and quit. Then choose Startup Disk in the window that appears ... choose your hard drive icon of your computer and restart. Eject the DVD with the key just under the power button ... or click on the DVD icon and go up to File/ Eject ....
Next ... Download this App ... Maintenance

When it asks you to verify the disk press cancel ... because you've already done it ..
Go to Preferences/Behaviour and check "For all accounts"
Then check all the boxes in Maintenance and Caches and the "Launch Services" in Rebuild .... Then execute
Restart ...
Remember ... Before any system or security update ..
1. Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard and mouse
2. Make sure sleep and screensaver are disabled ....
3. Quit all other apps ..
Also ... when 10.5.2 comes out .... I would Install the Combo Update ... not the standalone installer
They are less prone to conflicts ...

MSI Gaming App Will NOT Start

If this is the wrong forum I apologize, I didn't see any other place for topics about MSI software.
When my PC starts, the MSI Gaming App doesn't start automatically, I have to manually start it by double-clicking the icon on the desktop. However, it is a crap shoot if the program will even run; usually it doesn't and I have to completely restart my computer and cross my fingers. I've re-installed, updated, etc., but it keeps doing this. Any help would be fantastic.

Help app will not start just crashes when i open.

Got app (new ipad) did one project saved started to sycn to cc then it crashed now it crashes evertime i try to open. Did everything i found in forums (reinstall, sign out) no luck.

MSI Gaming app will not start up or run

I just installed a new MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4G and also installed the MSI gaming app. When I click on the app to open it appears in my notification window, but as soon as I mouse over the icon it disappears. The app stops running. I have uninstalled and re-installed like 12 times and restarted the computer 15 times. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to using new stuff so any help would be nice. Thanks

IPhone 5 with Keynote remote App will not work via Bluetooth.

So what's the point of buying & using Keynote if I can't use the App sold by Apple to control the presentation on my laptop via Bluetooth? I wasted nearly a half hour trying to configure this to work only to find that apparently Bluetooth on the iPhone 5 (and 4) won't connect to a laptop? ***?
Seriously useless and incredibly frustrating. Shame Apple, shame.

Add to that the fact that the computer and phone go through the excercise of exchanging a code... The computer says "You're connected" and then the Phone just keeps searching. Inexcusable.

HT4759 icloud app will not start

I have windows 7 trying to get icloud to work. Login says "you can't sign in because of a server error.

Tried quite a few different things. Checked with Apple tech support and came to the conclusion that the windows registry entries were corrupt.
itunes was on my computer and somewhat worked. Still could not update or access the store but I could play music. When I went to the control panel itunes and Bonjour were both missing. I tried reinstalling itunes and finally got it to load but, I could not delete all of apple products. When I did finally remove all Apple products Windows would automatically repair to the restore point before and reload certain Apple files.
Talked with someone about repairing the registry entries and his advice was to reload Windows scratch. Did that and about 15 hours later iCloud works as does all the rest of my programs. Runs like a champ. IMHO think about a scratch install sooner and don't deal with the headaches. Be sure to load virus protection but make sure to do that after you download all of your software programs first.

Hello all...have an old mac ibook that is running 10.4.11. I would like to use the mail program. When I click on the icon the icon bounces once and then stops. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance....

Adobe acrobat pro app will not start when I click

Just used installer to download Acrobat Pro. When I click on icon or click in applications file nothing happens

did you install acrobat pro?
if yes, check your install logs to see if there was a problem with your installation, Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC
if no, install it.

SP3 for XP is bot supported. If you have the possibility try the following:
- Install XP (VM f.e.)
- Install CR 9 to check if its running
- Un- Install CR 9
- Install SP3 for XP
- Install CR 9 and check if its running.

Firefox 4 will not start after upgrade to OS X 10.6.7 (from 10.6.6)

Was running FF 4.0RC1 successfully on OS X 10.6.6. Upgraded to 10.6.7 and FF would not start; had to force quit. Upgraded to FF 4.0RC2 and then 4.0; same thing is occurring. Reverted to FF 3.6 and it works fine under 10.6.7. Installed full upgrade of 10.6.7 to try to fix this; same problem: 4.0 will not start. Tried trashing Firefox application and restoring anew; same problem.

Since your other Mac running 10.5.8 is not affected, you know that your AirPort router is functioning correctly.
What changed on your Mac? This seems like a post for either the Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard support area, or the support area for your model of Mac.
We normally handle questions about the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule in this area, but you can certainly wait to see if you receive a response here.

Errors on startup - app does not start

I tried to start photoshop today and received two errors and the app will not start. I tried un-installing and re-installing (cloud apps), but I encounter the same errors
Can't post screen shots - you can't read them. First error says "Could not load actions as an unexpected end of file was encountered" The second one says "Could not initialize photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleated)"
any idea what I could try. I haven't installed any new software. PS worked a few days ago, other programs working OK, even cloud stuff
