Frozen Game -- iPod unresponsive

Right, so I got the Song Summoner game a few days ago (really spiffy, shameless plug, yadda yadda) and up until now, it has been working. I put my iPod on it's speaker/radio set for the morning while I did homework, and it seemed to be working just fine, though it was a little moody because it defaulted to my last selection, games, which it didn't know how to play. Once I'd redirected it towards the music, it was fine.
So later I ejected it, intending to play the game, and was presented with the message,
"This game cannot be launched.
This may be a result of a full iPod.
It's been stuck on that ever since.
I'm pretty sure being "full" isn't the problem, since it was working last night, and I haven't added any music since then (nevermind that even with all my movies, it's still less than halfway full), so I'm inclined to believe that the speaker system caused the problem (hence the narrative at the beginning).
I've pressed all the buttons (often simultaneously), connected it to my computer, connected it to the speaker system, and now it's just kind of sitting there. It's like a zombie, really. o_o;
Is there a fix? I'm not opposed to a reset -- everything's on my computer anyways, it's not like I'll lose much -- but I'd like to avoid that if I could; I don't want to start over on the game.

I'm having the exact same problem. Everything was working fine last night when i was listening to music, and this morning i tried to open up a game, and the message showed up. The ipod doesn't even show up on my computer when i connected it. I would really love to find out how to fix this. By the way, is your ipod still like that or did anything change?

  • Frozen game

    Hi!
I am programming the Frozen game (available for Android) which is pretty much like Candy Crush Saga.
The program should swap two elements of an array selected by the player clicking on them.
My problem is that the program keeps on swapping the elements.
And I don't know how to change the numbers of the array to pictures (i.e. number 1 is a blue stone, 2 is a red one,...).
    Please somebody help me!
    Thanks in advance

Start with a few simple LabVIEW tutorial before starting such a project. (For example you might learn that "index array" is resizable.)
Then sit down and think about the code layout and design template that would be most approriate.
After glancing at your code for a few milliseconds, here are some of the glaring mistakes I noticed (I am sure there are many more...):
Your random number generator is flawed, because it does not produce an fair and even distribution. Edge elements only occur with half the probability of the other elements.
Why are there so many stop buttons?
You have a loop that does a gigantic amount of data manipulation based on exactly two local variables as fast as the computer allows. Except for filling a few meaningless indicators, most of the code gets stripped out by the compiler because it produces no output. So why is it there?
You have another small while loop that operates on the array based on the value of four local variables, repeating the same operation over and over, again as fast as the computer allows. If this calculation is important, it only needs to be done if one ot the inputs changes, and not over and over, millions of times per second. This code belongs in the event loop to execute when a mouse-down occurs and the code is in the correct state. It seems to swap two elements of a 2D array, this is much more easily done using the "in place element structure" and "" (or simply cross the wires).
Now let's have a look at the loop with the event structure:
Delete the timeout case since you don't use it.
You don't need a stacked shift register. Get the current value after the event structure and use a feeback node for the immediately previous value.
In the "mouse down" event you do some exceedingly convoluted calcuation based on the coordinates. For some ideas on how to do it better, have a look at my old 4x4 tic tac toe game posted here long ago. Your game is much simpler and I truly believe that your game could be written with code fitting on a postcard. Try it!

  • The touch screen has frozen and is unresponsive.

The touch screen has frozen and is unresponsive. I tried synching it to my Mac, updating it, dumping my apps and resetting as new, as the tech support guy at Apple suggested, but it still does not work. Now what? Sadly, my warrenty has expired.

Frozen as on a particular image?
If so you might want to try a hard power down (if you haven't already).
I'm sure there are some better people to actually answer your direct question, other than me.
    Sorry

  • IPod unresponsive, screen frozen but flashes every ten seconds

My iPod appears to be frozen and does not respond to charging, toggling the hold switch, or resetting (holding down the menu and center button). The screen is dark except every ten seconds it flashes bright white. It has been doing this for several hours now, although the flashing has slowed from every 2 seconds to 10 now. However, when I connect the iPod to my computer, the screen does respond - it's now a shade of dark gray and the iPod emits a loud buzzing noise. Besides this, nothing else happens and neither my computer nor iTunes recognizes the device. Please help!

I had the same problem. I FIXED IT!!!
Take your ipod apart. There are instructions at various sites. Be careful because there are ribbon wires that are very fragile.
Disconnect the battery. Leave it sit for 2 days.
I dont know if it has to drain a charge being held by the drive or what, but after 2 days, plug the battery back in. It should be totally dead. Plug the ipod into the wall or your computer, it will say "ipod battery very low, please wait". once it builds up a decent charge, it will reset.
I hope this works for you guys, I almost smashed the thing before trying this.

  • My daughter has tried to charge her ipod nano 6 on an imported italian computer and it has frozen the iPod...unable to do anything on it at all. screen currently says 'OK to disconnect.' No buttons work..HELP :+) ????

My daughter has inadvertantly tried to charge her iPod nano 6 into an imported laptop. It has completely frozen all action.
I have tried to hold - button or main button for suggested 8 seconds to RESET the iPod to no avail. SUGGESTIONS ?? :+)

    Myelo,
Have you tried restting your iPod?
You can do so by toggeling the hold switch back and forth a few times, and then holding the menu and the center button in for 5-10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.
    Kind regards,

  • How I finally fixed my frozen 3g ipod after the ipod internal manager error

My problem started after I formatted the ipod from FAT32 to NTFS. Sure it seemed to work for a bit, but then it froze and my computer would not recognise it at all. I got the sad face on the ipod and it would not respond to iTunes and neither could I apply the ipod updater to restore it back to its factory settings. If I tried to do an ipod update all I got was the ipod internal manager error. It also did not appear as a drive under disk management in XP. I also tried to reset by pressing the menu and play/pause keys together. I could see that it would reboot but then it would get stuck at the smiley face stage and nothing more would happen. I could still hear the disk spinning inside, but it continued to stay stuck.
I discovered my solution by accident but my ipod is now working again and is fully functional.
First of all, my ipod is 2 years old and does NOT have a warranty with it anymore. The solution requires that the ipod be opeded up so you have to decide if you want to void your warranty if you still have one. By the way, the local Apple repair centre said that unless it was under warranty they were not interested in doing anything with it. They suggested buying a new one!!
    Ok here's what I did.
First of all, the ipod needs to be opened up. Here's a good link to have a look at, and in fact discusses replacing the hard drive anyway.
http://www.notpopular.com/blog/comments.php?blogID=63 Thanks to Josh Highland for writing the blog in the first place.
I used a couple of guitar picks to open the case to avoid scratching the casing.
Once the casing is open, detach the hard drive from its connector. At this stage you may need to toggle the ipod hold switch to "on" to make the ipod start up. After it's done this, press and hold the menu and press/play buttons together to force a reset. Once it's gone through this routine, plug the hard drive back into its connector whilst the ipod is still on. I found that by doing this, it forced the hard drive out of its frozen state. What this did was to cause my computer to recognise it as a drive. Yippee. I plugged the ipod back to the pc via the cable. The next i did was to run an ipod updater on the ipod. This caused the ipod to be restored to its factory settings and also formatted the drive back to FAT32. I used the original ipod updater that I got on the CD with the ipod. I then re-assembled the ipod.
Ok, so I ended up losing all of my songs and playlist on the ipod, but it's easy to transfer tham back to the ipod, and it's way cheaper than having to buy a new ipod.
My ipod now works the way it used too.
      Windows XP Pro

Yes, you are correct. I did disconnect the battery
before it finally worked. Honestly, I'm not sure if
that made any difference. It did the same thing
(folder with exclamation and then apple support
address) after I took the thing apart (which was easy
but I would not recommend it). It was a day later
that it finally formatted. The key is to get
the ipod to format however you can. After that it's
a simple matter of reinstalling the software. Which
I had been trying from the "Administrative Tools" and
it would never complete a format. In any event, all
of this WAS caused by the 2006-01-10 updater.
I too had trouble getting the ipod into "disk mode"
but keep trying when ever the apple icon appears on
the screen. Just keep pressing the center button and
the play/pause button at the same time. Each time I
put it into "disc mode" it took many trys. Good luck!
Any tips on how to "pry open" the iPod without destroying the casing? I have a 15Gb touchwheel model.
Also, I may as well ask this inadvance. Where is the battery and what does it look like?

  • FROZEN 5G iPod on APPLE SCREEN!!!

I'm panicking so I'm going straight to the point.
Since my computer was in a disarray and all my music files where placed somewhere else, I didn't want to open iTunes because then it would not find any of the songs and that would mean that all the songs would be deleted from my 5th-generation 30GB iPod. So i used EphPod instead, the stable version. It worked fine, but right as I closed the program I think it was still loading the changes to my iPod, and once i disconnected my iPod from my computer (using Windows XP) this is what happened (and is still happening...30 mins later):
    1) The "illuminated" black screen with the bright apple logo comes on for a few seconds...
    2) Backlight turns off, FLICKERS for a second, reverts back to the non-illuminated screen
    3) RIGHT BEFORE it flickers (to a black screen), you can hear the harddrive clicking.
    4) Repeats these steps forever...
I've tried resetting using the proper method, I've plugged it to my computer AND a wall outlet, I've toggled the hold on/off...and of course combinations all all three methods.
I've tried everything...but the iPod is COMPLETELY unresponsive and it keeps repeating the exact steps described above.
I REALLY don't want anything to happen to my iPod...I've already had to send it back to replace a defective battery once, and it took 6 weeks.
Does someone know exactly how to fix this problem, or should I just let time do its work and let the battery drain out?
I'm scared that the harddrive is corrupted or something...:S Stupid EphPod...(not that I really wanted to use it, I just couldn't use iTunes at the moment).
    Thanks

Okay so the ipod has been completely drained...i just plugged it into the charger for about ten seconds and ONCE AGAIN, the ipod repeats the steps I stated in the post above...I quickly removed the charger and the iPod continued to freeze up until it died again.
    Can someone PLEASE help?!

  • IPod Unresponsive

I've tried to turn my iPod on but it's just a blank screen and will not turn on. I though it might be because it is completely empty on battery so I left it to charge for a couple of hours and the screen hasn't even moved? I don't know what to do? Ive tried to hook it up to my laptop on different USB ports but my laptop doesn't recognize it?
    Any ideas?

  • Frozen mini iPod

I've had my iPod for a few months now. When it works it is wonderful.
The problem I now have is that, after an update it shows the tick to say I can unplug it. Then I unplug it and it remains frozen. I can't reset it or anything.
When I reconnect it it is clearly alive as I can download, reformat, repartition etc.etc.. However, the moment I click to disconnect it - and wait to see the tick saying that it is OK to unplug, it freezes. I can't play anything.
    What is going on???

I believe that if you hold the menu and the select buttons down at the same time for about three seconds the mini will reset itself. It is in the directions that came with the mini. I had to look it up once when my mini froze up.
