FRR NNHOP node protection with multiple protected nodes?

Hello
Is it possible to deploy a Fast Reroute (FRR) backup tunnel terminating in a node several next-hops downstream instead of just one?
All the examples i found in the documentation about FRR Node Protection, -or NNHOP-, always illustrates one protected node only. My question is if I can terminate the backup tunnel far beyond with the aim to include a chain of several protected nodes in between, not just one.
Thanks in advance

Hi Albert,
Are you looking for something similar to path protection?

  • JNDI Lookup for multiple server instances with multiple cluster nodes

    Hi Experts,
    I need help with retreiving log files for multiple server instances with multiple cluster nodes. The system is Netweaver 7.01.
    There are 3 server instances all instances with 3 cluster nodes.
    There are EJB session beans deployed on them to retreive the log information for each server node.
    In the session bean there is a method:
    public List getServers() {
      List servers = new ArrayList();
      ClassLoader saveLoader = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
      try {
       Properties prop = new Properties();
       prop.setProperty(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl");
       prop.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION, "none");
       Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader((com.sap.engine.services.adminadapter.interfaces.RemoteAdminInterface.class).getClassLoader());
       InitialContext mInitialContext = new InitialContext(prop);
       RemoteAdminInterface rai = (RemoteAdminInterface) mInitialContext.lookup("adminadapter");
       ClusterAdministrator cadm = rai.getClusterAdministrator();

       String dispatcherIP = null;
       String p4Port = null;
       for (int i = 0; i < nodeId.length; i++) {

    The application is working for multiple server instances with a single cluster node but not working for multiple cusltered environment.
    Anybody knows what should be changed to handle more cluster nodes?
    Thanks,
    Gergely

    Thanks for the response.
    I was afraid that it would be something like that although
    was hoping for
    something closer to the application pools we use with IIS to
    isolate sites
    and limit the impact one badly behaving one can have on
    another.

  • Table View with Multiple Context Nodes

    I want to create a table-view consisting of an object composition, e.g. multiple business objects. The chtml:configCellerator -tag supports just one context node which corresponds to just one business object.
    How do you create a table composed by different objects, i.e. BTAdminH and BTAdminI ?
    Edited by: romanglass on May 18, 2010 4:07 PM

    Hi,
    I would suggest to create a new component and not to disturb the standard ones. Because the super class of the header context node (BTAdminH in your case) must be inherited from CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_DTV - Deep table view.
    The dependent nodes must be passed to return parameter rt_result of method GET_SUB_CNODE_DEFINITIONS.
    This cant be done via wizard. I just tried to replicate your scenario. Below are the steps,
    1. create a view with context node BTADMINH as tableview. Then change the super class of the context node to   CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_DTV.
    2. Add another context node BTADMINI and mark it as dependent to BTADMINH.
    3. Now change the super class of context node BTADMINI to CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_TV  (Table View).
    4. Redefine method GET_SUB_CNODE_DEFINITIONS in context node BTADMINH.
    In the view layout you should use cellerator and pass an iterator with interface IF_THTMLB_CELLERATOR_ITERATOR. The interface has a method RENDER_DEPENDANT_OBJECTS which returns the table of dependant objects.

  • Tree with multiple root nodes does not display

    I am trying to create a tree to display some hierarchical data which contains several root nodes.
    I have specifed that the TREE_ROOT value is always Null as the root nodes have a null value for the PARENT_ID. The page displays yet none of the data is displayed.
    I have manage to get it to work by creating a dummy single root that I reference from the existing root values?

    Phattam,
    The TREE_ROOT identifies the root node's ID, not its PARENT_ID.
    For example, if we build a tree on the oehr_employees table, the ID is EMPLOYEE_ID and the PARENT_ID is MANAGER_ID. therefore, to identify the start of the tree, we could populate the TREE_ROOT with a select statement e.g.
    SELECT employee_id FROM oehr_employees WHERE employee_id = 100This identifies a single value and the tree starts from employee_id 100.
    If we used a select statement that retrieves more than one row, e.g.
    SELECT employee_id FROM oehr_employees WHERE manager_id = 100then the tree starts at one of the children of employee_id 100 - ApEx will not show a tree that has more than one starting node. If you want to show these alternative starting points, you'll need to do exactly what you have done - create a 'dummy' root node.
    Hope this helps,
    Bryan.

  • Does GRC AC 5.2 supports multiple server nodes

    Hello Experts,
    Does GRC AC 5.2 is supported with multiple server nodes.
    Thanks
    Davinder

    Thanks once again Harleen,
    For AC 5.2 i will raise an SAP OSS message and share the results with community.
    For AC 5.3, we have configured SAP logger and make neccesary changes in NWA. But log information over here is not as detailed (background job information is missing) as we get in RAR -> Background Jobs ->View Logs.
    I have generated another thread for this issue (GRC AC 5.3 Logging strategy in multi server nodes), would appreciate if you can show some light on this issue
    Thanks

  • Multiple Server nodes in Java Instance

    Hello Experts,
    We have NW 700 SP17 Java system running with 5 server nodes. Would appreciate, if you clarify following doubts:
    1. How can we check which user has landed up into which server node.
    2. Is there any possibility of check logs (like defaulttrace,etc) for all the server nodes from a single location (like NWA).
    3. How can we check the load on each of the server node.
    4. Where can we find documentation on configuring and operating Java instance with multiple server nodes.
    Thanks
    Davinder

    1. How can we check which user has landed up into which server node.
    Ask the user to execute this: javascript:document.cookie
    while they are in the Java pages.
    2. Is there any possibility of check logs (like defaulttrace,etc) for all the server nodes from a single location (like NWA).
    - Yes, SAP LogViewer should give you that options
    3. How can we check the load on each of the server node -
    - Consider configuring Solution Manager Diagnostics, is it very nice tool for Java Load Monitoring
    4. Where can we find documentation on configuring and operating Java instance with multiple server nodes
    - If you asking about how many nodes requires on a java instance, you might want to use the SAP Quick Sizer to size your systems, then it will give you total Memory it requirsts then you need to divide that by 2.5 GB (64 bit OS) or for 32 bits they recommend you not to exceed your heap size beyond 1 GB.
    Added Nodes is very simple via Configtool, then you might have to setup your server with same settings as your previous nodes.

  • MPLS-TE FRR NNHOP protection (positioning of the NNHOP node)

    Hi All,
    I have a conception question about MPLS-TE FRR NNHOP protection.  Does the NNHOP need to be along the path of the originally protected TE LSP but just downstream of the protected node?
    David

    Hi David,
    Yes thats Correct. The Next Hop in a FRR TE LSP needs to be a long the path of the Protected TE LSP from the Headend Label Switch router to the Tailend LSR of the TE LSP.
    You would normally have more than one Path OR a TE tunnel between the Headend and Tailend LSRs with FRR enabled. The Priority assigned to those tunnels selects the Primary Tunnel. and with FRR feature, if the first tunnel experience failure along the path with ANY of the intermediate next hops to the Tailend LSR of that LSP, the Secondary TE tunnel takes place with faster convergence time.

  • Analysis Authorization based on Hier node with multiple display hierarchies

    Hi guys - I've got a problem where s.o. might have an idea of how to switch on the light at the end of the tunnel, I am currently standing in:
    Requirement:
    Cost Center Authorization should be given through RSECADMIN, reporting should be possible for any hierarchy that exists for the authorization relevant info object.
    Preferred solution:
    The Cost Center Analysis Authorization should be given through RSECADMIN - Hierarchy node assignment.
    u2022     A dedicated Authorization Cost Center Hierarchy will be maintained in ECC6 as an alternative cost center hierarchy and extracted into BW.
    u2022     The RSECADMIN Hierarchy node assignment should be based on a particular node (Type 2).
    u2022     The display level will be specified as required (here: Level 7)
    u2022     The Authorization granted should be independent of hierarchy name and version (validity 3).
    Reporting Scenario and technical impact:
    As mentioned above, when designing and running a query the user should be able to freely select other (i.e. than the authorization) display hierarchies for the authorization relevant reporting object 'Cost Center' as well. The technical names of the semantically relevant hierarchy nodes could therefore vary. E.g. cost centers 1, 2 and 3, being assigned under hierarchy node u2018Au2019 of the RSECADMIN relevant authorization hierarchy, could be subsumed by hierarchy node u2018Bu2019 in another display hierarchy, which the user may want to display in accordance to his reporting needs. Ideally, the alternative display hierarchy should therefore display node u2018Bu2019.
    My findings so far (based on prototyping) turn out that this is not possible as long u2018Bu2019 (and its hierarchy) is not authorized in RSECADMIN. Can these findings be confirmed? And if not, would anyone have an idea of how to facilitate the reporting scenario?
    Would there be any other way to grant access, possibly based on RSECADMIN single values, and also enable the user to flexibly display hierarchies with only those hierarchy nodes whose single cost center values the user has been given access to?
    Thanks everyone for your input...
    Claus

    HI CLause,
    On Jul 14 2009, you wrote in SDN and said:
    FYI: Found a solution...
    The hierarchy analysis authorization will be based on a navigational attribute of cost center.
    With analysis authorizations it is possible to declare the Auth object (e.g. 0COSTCENTER__RACCAUT0) as authorization relevant and leave the superior object 0COSTCENTER auth irrelevant.
    The auth will be given for 0COSTCENTER__RACCAUT0. This object will be placed as a filter of the query, being restricted by an Authorization variable for hierarchy nodes.
    Due to the concept of Analysis Authorizations, this variable will automatically pick up the nodes granted as part of RSECADMIN Hierarchy based Authorization.
    As mentioned above, 0COSTCENTER as the regular reporting characteristic remains auth irrelevant and can therefore take any hierarchy thatu2019s available. Reporting on single values will be possible, too. Only those nodes show up that hold the authorized cost centers in accordance to the authorization.
    If the auth relevant 0COSTCENTER__RACCAUT0 is not used in the query definition by either not taking it in as a filter or skipping the Auth variable, the query will launch the message that the authorization is missing. No data show up at all.

    See this thread:
    Analysis Authorization based on Hier node with multiple display hierarchies
    I am also in the same situation as you and need to understadn your solution. I understand that you created a Nav Attr on 0COSTCENTER and made this auth relevant whilst ensuring that 0COSTCENTER is NOT auth relevant. This is all fine. The issue was you have multiple hierachies for 0COSTCENTER, how did the new Nav Attr help you solve your issue. When loading 0COSTCENTER what values did you load ino the new Nav Attribute and how did that link to the hierachies? Also, in RSECADMIN you created hiearchy nodes based on the Nav Attribute but I am confused as to what values you have in the Nav Attr.
    I appreciate if you can share your solution from the past in more details.
    many thanks

  • Issue with hierarchy node variable and multiple SAP hierarchies

    Hello experts,
    We are currently facing an issue when using two SAP hierarchies in Web Intelligence and one of them is restricted with a hierarchy node variable.
    The systems we use are a SAP BI 7.01 (SPS 05) and a Business Objects Enterprise XI R3.1 SP2 (fix pack 2.3). I want also to point out that the fix pack 2.3 has been applied to all BOE related components: the SAP integration Kit, client tools, and enterprise (server and client).
    The universe used in our scenario is based on a BEX Query with two hierarchies (non-time dependent hierarchies, intervals allowed) loaded on their corresponding characteristics. One of these characteristics is restricted with a hierarchy node variable (manual input, optional, ready for input, multiple single values allowed).
    Prerequisites for replicating the problem:
    1)     When building the web intelligence query select several levels from both hierarchies (they have seven levels each) and    the   only amount of the InfoCube that the BEX query (that was used to create our universe) relies on.
    2)     In the hierarchy node variable prompt select a hierarchy node entry (not an actual InfoObject value that exists as transactional data in the InfoCube )
    By executing the query built above, all characteristics are returned null (no value) and the key figure with value u201C0u201D. No error messages, no partial results warnings.  Now if we go back to u201CEdit queryu201D and select levels of only one of any of the two hierarchies the query runs normally (by selecting the exact same value for the hierarchy node variable prompt).
    Any ideas on the matter?
    Regards,
    Giorgos

    Hi,
    Have you ever got a solution for this problem?
    I have a similar one.

  • Maximum Protection mode with multiple guaranteed Standby destinations

    Hello,
    We have the requirement to have our database in 3 locations, so we have 1 primary and 2 standbys. High Availbility is not that important as data protection.
    With maximum protection it's possible to guarantee the data replication to 1 standby database. If no standby is available the database stalls.
    Our requirement is, that the data must be replicated to 2 standby databases. If this is not possible because of a network outage or server crash on a standby db, the primary should stall.
    I know with this setup, the availablity will be lowered, but would it be possible to do this with dataguard? (RAC is not an option)
    Thanks and Regards
    Thomas

    Hello again;
    OK, I understand now. That sounds like a custom job. I'm not aware of a parameter which controls that number.
    You could comb Chapter 8 of the "Oracle Data Guard 11g handbook", but I'm not finding anything there.
    I believe the SYNC part of this ( Maximum Protection ) may have you covered, but if you had multiple standby's I still don't have a setting like you want.

  • Using the opmn:ormi protocol with multiple nodes

    Hi
    If I use the opmn:ormi protocol with multiple nodes, will it load balance between the nodes or will it simply try to connect to the first node and if it can't it will connect to the second node?.
    Instead of specifying multiple nodes can I set the host to point to a load balancer?
    Which solution is best?

  • Endless loop when clicking on ADF TreeTable Node with multiple Parents

    Using Jdev 11.1.2.2.0.
    I have been using the ADF Tree Table to render a parent/child relationship table(using EO's and VO's); this table allows a child node to have many parents. I've followed the example from Code Corner #32 "How to create a tree table from a single View Object and how to access selected rows" but my example is a little different. I have a Hierarchy Table that lists it's TopNode and then I have a Relationship (parent/child) table that includes the relationships for that hierarchy. I've created the ViewLinks between the Hierarchy VO and the Relationship VO and everything shows up fine in the ADF BC Tester.
    The tables look like the following (Note: the node 5 has multiple parents (4&3)
    Hierarchy Table:
    ID NAME TOPNODEID
    1 HIER1 1
    PARENTCHILDTABLE
    PARENT_ID CHILD_ID
    1 2
    1 3
    2 4
    4 5
    3 5
    -1 1
    The View Links I have setup are the (TopNodeID to ChildID... 1 to 1) as well as the (Child_Id to Parent_ID.. 1 to *).
    I added a tree table to a jsf page; I setup the bindings correctly with the Hierarchy vo as the top level object and the relationship VO as the parent/child (self referencing) table.
    However, when I start expanding some of the nodes at runtime in the JSF page and when I click on the child 5 an hour glass appears and it seems to be in an endless loop. Has anyone seen this before or anyone know why this gets into an endless loop.
    Edited by: user623583 on Aug 21, 2012 7:26 AM

    No exceptions occur but I was able to turn on logging (oracle.adf*) and this shows up. This is only a portion of what gets logged as it seems to log the same thing over and over while in the endless loop. The loop is intermittent too; it doesn't occur all the time. It seems to occur when I click on one of the duplicate nodes OR try to expand one of the duplicate nodes and/or one of their parents.

  • EBS Multiple Apps node with individual web entry without loadbalancer?

    Hi,
    We are trying to create 4  (apps1, 2, 3, 4) R12 application servers with one DB server.
    We wanted each machine to serve specific groups of users.
    Basically we wanted them to access each own web url and apps services in each machine (we do not want a auto load balancing):
    apps1.mycompany.com:8001 = org1 users
    apps2.mycompany.com:8001 = org2 users
    apps3.mycompany.com:8001 = org3 users
    apps4.mycompany.com:8001 = org4 users
    With this setup we are experiencing:
    Multiple Application Nodes Configured Without Load Balancer Cause Login Redirection (Doc ID 1362885.1)
    Is it possible to do this without hardware load balancer?
    Or will a DNS load balancer  enough for our setup?
    Will the concurrent jobs for each org be processed on each own server? ( org4 -> apps4 )
    Thank you.

    Hi Guys,
    Just an update:
    I'm still working on this project and we are making good progress.
    The 4 apps nodes are working fine, accepting http/web/forms on its own hostname/url/po.rt.
    The shared apps file system is running on OCFS.
    DNS and Squid Reverse Proxy instead of HardwareLoadbalancer.
    Being a non-RAC instance, I have not  configured concurrent managers in PCP.
    What I have is a PCP failover using primary to secondary node.
    I'm still need to research if its feasible to create a specialized concurrent manager and assign it to other apps node.
    Am also reading up on how to configure Specialization rule and Combined specialization rule and assign it to specialized Conc Manager.
    If I get more free time I will prepare a detailed step-by-step HOWTO guide and share it here and on my blog.
    What we are running are the ff:
    EBS R12.1.3 Linux 64bit
    1 node DB on OEL 5.9
    4 node Apps on OEL 5.9
    OCFS2 for shared everything apps storage (including INST_TOP)
    DNS and Squid Reverse Proxy
