Frustrating mix of OSX connection issues

Bought the M127fw and have had an endless stream of connection issues with my iMacs and Airport network.
it did at first connect to my wireless network.  But found almost immediately that trying to get it to "wake up" and be seen on the network for printing never worked.  I had to go to it, reset it (pressing the white lighted button on the side of the display) for any of my computers to see it again.
Then it suddenly stopped connecting to the same wireless network it had been connected to.  I've tried 100's of time to get this connection to work.  Oddly, it will connect to the same Airport's secondary network I have set up for guests.  But it will not connect to the main one. (yes, both are set up with the same security settings).
So, then trying to wire it to the Airport and using it as a WPA printer.  That works, but then I can't use it for a scanner.
My questions
1) any suggestions for solving for the inability to connect to my wireless
2) If I solve that, any work around for the devices, "waking up" issue mentioned above
3) Is there a way to use the scanner via it being connected to my Airport via USB?
thank you.

This is certainly odd.  I suspect there may be a setting in your Airport that is wonky, especially if the guest network works.
Open Airport Utility and in the Wireless tab, click Wireless Options.  Check to make sure that 802.11g is enabled (along with other modes is fine).
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Anyone else having repeated wifi connectivity issues with the OSX version 10.8.5?

I just updated the software on my iMac to OS X version 10.8.5. Now I am having repeated connectivity issues with the wifi in my house. This is the only device that is having these issues. My phone, ipad and tv are not having any problems at all.
It happened immediately following the update. I was sending emails and browsing before the update without a problem.
    from apple:

I had a message like that last week - only it asked what browser I would be using - I just quit safari - purges caches etc - and at that time noticed I was getting RSS feeds through PUBSUB - tracking them down to the top sites view I never use - I deleted all of the top sites (most of which I don't go into so it must have been a preset) that included MSN and Google - I don't use google so that was pointless.  (deleting a top site means you are blocking it from that page)    Have not had the message since so it must have had something to do with top sites activity.
Just a note:  Did see somewhere probably BBC tech - that Google was going to stop supporting older web browsers.

  • Connection doctor and connection issues

I have nothing blocking  my internet connection, however mail is a nightmare for me. I continually receive connection issues via the connection doctor for imaps, pops, and icloud.
Are my settings wrong? I have checked with each of the settings and they are set per instructions provided. Some are google, some yahoo, icloud, etc.
This is really annoying and I could really use some help.
Here is a typical message: Could not connect to this Google IMAP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the 'Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account Preference"
I have done all of this and am still having troubles.
I am also receiving SMTP connection issues - "Trying to log into this SMTP account failed. Verufy that the username and password are correct."
I have checked and all are correct. Even more confusing, these issues are not present all the time - however I have not changed anything between when times are good and bad.
Sigh - I hope someone has an idea to help me out.
Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts.

  • Logic Remote connectivity issues after updating to iOS 8 (solved!)

Has anyone else has been experiencing connectivity issues with Logic Remote after updating to iOS 8?
After updating to iOS 8 I could no longer connect so I sent a feedback report to Apple and got a response that cleared up my problem immediately:
Navigate to the following directory on your desktop system running GarageBand:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
You can quickly navigate there using the “Go” menu in Finder -> Go To Folder (shift-command-G), then copy this path:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
In the Preferences folder should be a file named "com.apple.garageband10.cs”.
Make sure GarageBand is not running and delete the  "com.apple.garageband10.cs” file.
Relaunch GarageBand and see if you should now be able to connect.
The same can be done for Logic by navigating to:
    ~/Library/Preferences/
And deleting "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" and restarting Logic.
Note that doing this will fix Logic Remote connectivity issues (and possibly other problems with latency and mixer functionality)  but will also delete any other Controller settings that you've configured with Logic, if you happen to be using another controller of some sort.

Thanks very much!  This solved my connection problem.

  • Connectivity issues from Oracle to Sybase

    Friends.
I have connectivity issue from Oracle 9.2.0.1 to Sybase 12.5 ASE .I am connecting through the database link in oracle to access the tables.
The error message i am getting :

Please guide me how to solve this error message. is it version incompatible now?
    Thanks
    Rocky

    Hi,
You are now making the connection to the Sybase database but there is a problem with the user and password used in the database link.
Sybase is case sensitive for names so you need to surround the user/password in double quotes to make sure they are passed to Sybase in the correct case -
    create database link ind_test connect to "sybuser" identified by "sybpass" using 'tnsnames_ora_entry' ;
where sybuser is the userid as created in Sybase with the password sybpass.
If they were setup in Sybase in mixed case then it would be -
    create database link ind_test connect to "Sybuser" identified by "Sybpass" using 'tnsnames_ora_entry' ;
    Regards,
    Mike

  • WRT300N connection issue similarities??

    Hello everyone.
I just bought a 300N router as an upgrade from a linksys B router, before checking these forums and seeing all the issues that everyone else has with them with the wireless connection dropping out.
At the same time as the router purchase, I also upgraded my laptop to windows vista.
I was able to connect to my network with no problems at all. When I shut my computer down, and boot back up, it will not connect to my network, just gives me the "Diagnose?" screen. I am not able to connect to ANY of the networks within range (there are a few). I can try and try and try to reconnect to my network, but it will not connect. Then, if I leave it long enough, it will automatically connect to my network, and all is good.... Until I disconnect again.
Last night was the first time in the week that I had the router, that I actually got dropped from my router. And surprise, I was not able to reconnect to my network.
I also have a macbook, with OSX 10.4.8 on it. I NEVER have any connection problems with this laptop. Connects all the time, everytime, first try, and it stays rock solid connection, even when my vista machine is searching and failing to connect to my router.
I have the latest firmware from linksys, and I also tried tinkering with my radio settings as mentioned in a few other posts, but nothing changes in the connection experience. Even rebooting the router does not help. (Though it appeared to help the very first time I did it, but it may have been just that vista decided to smarten up and connect on its own)
So what I am wondering is how many other people, who are having connection issues with this router, are using windows vista? Anyone have any suggestions before I fire this laptop out the window?
Message Edited by markmac on 04-24-200710:50 AM

well...as the router is working for the MAC computer..i don't think it is a router problem...rather i believe that it should be either the operating system itslef or teh wireless adapter on the laptop....

  • HT6065 wi-fi connection issues - STILL?

For almost a year - I have been trying to troubleshoot wi-fi connection issues on my Mac Pro. It all seems to coincide with installing OS X Mavericks. I thought through recent updates OS X Mavericks v10.9.1, 10.9.4. the problem would be resolved by now. I eventually gave in and "hard wired" my printers and my iPhone only works via USB. I even have to resort to using an Ethernet cable plugged directly into my modem use internet.
I recently purchased an Apple TV with every intention of sharing my iTunes Library and playing my music on the sound system attached to my TV. Unfortunately, more time wasted trying to troubleshoot what may likely be another Mavericks wi-fi connection issue; see discussion Home sharing is turned on - not working
Here I am now in the Mavericks discussion group trying to find a solution - I have read about the same issues with other Mac users and some have switched back to Mountain Lion and re-enabled wi-fi usage on all wireless devices; while others suggest third-party apps as work-around solutions. I am reluctant to go to what I would consider "extreme" measures to fix what seems to be a well documented issue.
Any tips on reverting back to previous OSX - Mountain Lion, or shall I wait until fall for new release of OSX - Yosemite?
Thank you in advance - Db

  • Strange Connectivity Issues

    Hi,
I have an iMac 27" Intel i5 running 10.6.6 and for some reason I have been getting some firewire devices not being recognised. But for some reason my Macbook Pro which also runs 10.6.6 finds with no problem at all connecting to them.
For example my laice external lightscribe drive which was running just fine on my iMac until recently can only be found now on my Macbook. So I'm not sure what changed, could it have been a recent update? Or a driver issue since 10.6.6?
The other thing that works fine on the macbook and not my iMac is my old MiniDV Sony handycam.
My time machine backup and Sandisk DF card reader work just fine through the same firewire port so I am quite confused.
    Any help is much appreciated.

  • TS1317 Internet Connectivity Issue - specifically with the DNS settings

    Hi there,
I'm wondering if someone can help me resolve an internet connectivity issue on my MacBook Pro.
It appears to be a problem specifically with the DNS settings. I am connected to the internet but can only reach a website by typing in the IP address, not the domain name. The error messahe says: "Unable to resolve server's DNS address."
Regardless of whether I use Wifi, 3G modem or cable, i get the same error.
Operating System is Mac OSX Version 10.6.7
    Please help!
    Thanks

It sounds like your MacBook Pro has either incorrect or missing DNS IP address information in it network profile. Let's start with your wireless connection. You would find these in System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > DNS tab
If your main Internet router is performing as the DHCP server, it would provide the DNS IP addresses (typically from your ISP) on this tab. You may have two or more addresses listed. If they are grayed, that means that the addresses are coming from the DHCP server.
In the following example screen shot, I am using DNS servers provided by OpenDNS. Notice that they are grayed as they are being provided by my main Internet router. Again, these should be either ones provided by your ISP or ones you purposely set up, like my OpenDNS ones.

  • I am having wireless connectivity issues with my time capsule

Over the last 3 days my wireless devices have been having issues with connectivity.
    Network setup:
Modem - Motorola SB5102 Cable Modem
1 TB Time Capsule 802.11n (second generation)
The devices are approximately 3 feet apart.
    Wired Device:
Mac Pro (2008 build) running OSX 10.6.8, Airport Utility 5.6.1
    Wireless Devices:
    Playstation 3
    Macbook Air
    iPhone 5c
    iPhone 4
I am having issues with internet connectivity. The wireless signal strength is fine as all devices can find the network. However when connected to the network accessing the internet on the Macbook Air, or either iPhone is slow and streaming services such as Netflix cannot connect. I have intermitant connectivity to the Playstation Network on the PS3.
I have wired both the Macbook Air and PS3 directly to the Time Capsule and have no issues, internet is accessible and streaming services are fine.
I have power cycled all the devices (Time Capsule, macbook, iphones, PS3, modem) to no result.
I am looking for any other suggestions that may help me with my wireless connectivity issue.

A Gen2 TC is probably on its last gasp.. and it is well overdue for replacement.
If you want to get more life out of it you normally need to repair or replace the internal power supply.. This is not done by apple or any of their repair centres.
Just do ebay search and you will find sellers with replacement supplies.
Otherwise to test, do a full factory reset..
I would also downgrade the firmware.. 7.5.2 will work just as well for you and has less bugs than 7.6.x firmware.
To downgrade hold down the option key when you select firmware version.
    The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
    Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

  • Linksys E3000 – WiFi Connectivity Issue

I usually have the 2.5GHz (B/G + WEP) and the 5.0 GHz (Mixed + WPA2-PSK) networks running. I have about two to three iPhones running on the 2.5GHz, one Laptop on the 5.0GHz and one desktop wired. Recently in the previous week I came across wireless issues on the E3000 Linksys Router when arriving home from work. My iPhone wasn’t connecting to the Network or my Laptop. It seemed as if the SSID wasn’t broadcasting. I went into the router and played around with it and didn’t find any issues with my user settings.
The router seems to broadcast the SSID for 2.5 & 5.0 sometimes [it disappears frequently] and when I’m able to attempt to connect it my iPhones plus my Laptop say “Unable to connect to network”. I’m not even connected to it wirelessly to manage the network. The desktop that is wired is able to connect stream internet across the modem though the router, this also goes when I wire my laptop as well.
I’ve made sure I have the latest Firmware: 1.0.04 & I’ve manually reset the router to factory defaults and still had the same connectivity issues. I’ve disabled the 2.5GHz broadcast and ran the 5GHz to make sure the connections weren’t conflicting with each other, which isn’t the case.
It seems I’m having broadcasting problems with the router and even resetting to factory settings aren’t working. I’ve noticed it’s not my devices that aren’t experiencing the issues because the iPhones and Laptop are having the same connectivity issue. My router is mounted to the wall and my modem is working perfectly.
Edit: The lights that are on & solid, during this problem is the Power + Internet + Wifi + Desktop(2)

I realize this is an old thread, but curious as to whether the firmware upgrade helped. My problem is similar, but a few things in my configuration changed over the past 2 weeks:
    1) I added a new Roku HD wireless to my router (2 days ago)
    2) I upgraded my broadband modem to the Comcast Arris TG862. I had them put this modem in bridge mode so that I could continue to use my E3000. (2 weeks ago).
    3) I noticed that comcast created an open network on my TG862 called xfinity wifi. I turned this off (yesterday).  Comcast does have an option for it.
Starting yesterday (after I turned off the comcast open network, I began to have problems on my 2.5 Ghz band on my linksys router. Never had these problems before. The network disappears, then re-appears. Somtimes I can connect to it but it's only a matter of time before it disappears again. 5 Ghz seems solid.
Last night, as a test, I turned my xfinity wifi open network back on, and all of a sudden my 2.5 Ghz was rock solid (at least for about 5 hours). It then disappeared again.
I will try the router firmware upgrade, but wondering if the Arris 862 could have anything to do with this. I'm not sure I trust comcast - particularly after they played that nasty open network trick on me.
    Thanks!
2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_channel] Channel [/url] to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use http://www.metageek.net/support/metageek-software-archives/ to find out. How many?
I prefer not to use Arris branded modems or modems with built in routers. I recommend that you check to see if you can get into a Motorola SB 6141 or similar modem model that is stand alone. Comcast support Motorola modems I believe.
I recommend that you have your ISP check the cabling going to the ISP modem, check signal levels going to the ISP modem. For cable Internet, RG-6 coaxial cable is needed, not RG-59. Check for t.v. line splitters and remove them as they can introduce noise on the line and lower the signal going to the ISP modem. Connecting to the ISP modem could result in a false positive as the signal to the modem could be just enough to that point then adding on a router, could see problems. The router operation is dependent upon getting good data flow from the ISP modem and the modem is dependent upon getting good signal from the ISP Service.
Thank you for the suggestions. Security is WPA2/PSK. This has not changed.
A few questions. With regard to your last paragraph, even if I got a bad data flow from the ISP modem, I would still expect my router to be visible (or am I mistaken). I think, in the past, I've completely turned off my ISP modem and I could still see my router - just had no internet connection.
I'll look for other wifi routers - it just seems so darn coincidental with turning off that xfinity open wifi. I've always noticed other wifi signals in the area, I didn't actually notice any new ones (other than that silly xfinity one).
One thing I did do, I did remove an AP I had connected to the router when I set up the Roku because it seemed like it was un-necessary once I switched to the Arris modem. I just disconnected it... should it be degrown or something?
    Thanks!

    1 x 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450
    (will test 2008 Lexus LS600hL &  2015 LX570 later this week)
After weeks of reading about iOS 8.2 issues and how iOS 8.2 is supposed to contain a certain vague BT fix, I thought it was finally safe to risk another iOS update to fix my long-standing car Bluetooth issue with iOS 8.1.3.  I WAS WRONG!
Upon updating to iOS 8.2, we noticed that our existing Bluetooth issue (started since iOS 8.0.x) was still present.  Ever since iOS 8.0.x, we have had the very annoying Bluetooth issue of call audio cutting in & out when connected.  After further research and testing, we determined that the cause may be that the iPhone (iOS 8.0.x and above) actually randomly disconnects and reconnect with the car's BT every 10-120 seconds, thus interrupting the audio through Bluetooth… however this behavior is difficult to detect without active Bluetooth call/audio going through the speakers.
Unfortunately, we also noticed that IOS 8.2 ADDED NEW BLUETOOTH PROBLEMS to the mix!  With iOS 8.1.3, we could stream audio (I.e. Pandora, iTunes Radio, Rhapsody) at higher quality perfectly.  Right after the iOS 8.2 update, everyone suddenly noticed that the audio from Pandora or other streaming music apps would briefly pause or skip & stutter every few seconds.  We lowered the audio quality to "Good" instead of "Better" or "Best" but that did not make a difference ("Good" is around 64 kbps).  At the same time, we did a speed test and found the 4g connection at that time was 6.8Mbps down… more than enough to stream a 64kbps signal without constant stuttering/buffering. Tests with devices still on iOS 8.1.3 show this is an isolated iOS 8.2 problem (the device streamed Bluetooth audio perfectly… was updated to iOS 8.2… Bluetooth audio was tested again and now exhibited the stuttering problem).
I hope Apple is going to fix this issue in iOS 8.3 or sooner... more and more people seem to have this (or variations) issue, and many others also are affected, probably haven't noticed (yet).
UPDATE 3/30/2015: After today’s preliminary testing with the vehicles above, this is what I found:
OUTGOING CALLS:  In iOS 8.1.3, after much research and testing I have determined that the iPhone’s Bluetooth drops connection with the vehicle periodically, then immediately reconnects again, resulting in several seconds of audio silence on both ends of the call (same behavior as if you’re going through a cellular “dead zone”… but you’re not).  With iOS 8.2, Bluetooth still exhibits the same issue, but now with an increased frequency.  (NOTE: Unpairing & repairing Bluetooth connections as well as Resetting All Network Settings did NOT solve this problem… as other Internet posters, forums, and articles can tell you.)
INCOMING CALLS:  In iOS 8.1.3, incoming calls suffered the same issues as outgoing calls (see above), but didn’t exhibit any other Bluetooth problems with my vehicles.  With iOS 8.2, Bluetooth issues for incoming calls are now significantly WORSE! Approximately 75% of all incoming calls will ring twice, then drop (i.e. “Call Failed”).  90% of the time, the incoming call ring won’t transfer to Bluetooth audio (instead only ringing on your handset).  (NOTE: Unpairing & repairing Bluetooth connections as well as Resetting All Network Settings did NOT solve this problem… as other Internet posters, forums, and articles can tell you.)
STREAMING AUDIO/MUSIC:  In iOS 8.1.3, Bluetooth audio/music streamed fine from my iPhone to my vehicle, even with 3+ Bluetooth devices connected simultaneously.  My vehicle’s Bluetooth does not support Bluetooth audio, so I have installed a Kinvo BTC450 Hands-Free Car Kit (aptX) to play streaming audio through my vehicle’s speakers.  The only issue I had was that the iPhone does NOT allow manual selection of assigning specific Bluetooth devices specific functions unlike Android 4.0.4 and above (for example, with Android I could assign incoming/outgoing call functions & audio to my car Bluetooth, and streaming media audio to my Kinvo BTC450… with iPhone iOS 8.2 and prior you cannot do that so the phone Bluetooth fights to assign incoming/outgoing call functions & audio to one of the two devices… usually the one that boots up the fastest).  With iOS 8.2, not only is this problem still here, but now if you have 3 or more Bluetooth devices connected (not only paired) simultaneously, then it is as if the iPhone has to buffer streaming audio every few seconds, which will pause or stutter the audio feed to the Kinvo BTC450 (or whatever Bluetooth device you use).  This happens with ALL streaming audio feeds, whether it’s Pandora, iTunes Radio, Rhapsody (although it occurs less frequently with some apps than others). After unpairing and re-pairing my iPhone to the device, suddenly ALL AUDIO DID NOT WORK!  After doing this several times, I resumed driving in silence… then after about 15 minutes all of a sudden the streaming audio (Pandora which I didn’t pause) started streaming through my car speakers again (although the stuttering/pausing audio issue was still present). Resetting All Network Settings did not have an effect on this problem either.  (NOTE: Unpairing & repairing Bluetooth connections as well as Resetting All Network Settings did NOT solve this problem.  This problem is only solved by connecting only 1-2 devices simultaneously and preventing any more devices from connecting as other Internet posters, forums, and articles can tell you.)
MY RECOMMENDATION:  If you use multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously with your iPhone/iPad (especially 3 or more)… then AVOID iOS 8.2 AT ALL COSTS!  If you already upgraded (as I have), then from what I understand it’s too late to downgrade to iOS 8.1.3 since Apple doesn’t “sign” that firmware anymore… so your choices are either to live with iOS 8.2 or jailbreak... or switch to another phone manufacturer.  If you don’t use Bluetooth or connect to multiple devices simultaneously (i.e. smartwatch, car Bluetooth, 3rd party car kit, radar detector, portable speaker, headphones, portable keyboard, etc) then iOS 8.2 may work OK for you. Hopefully iOS 8.3 will solve these Bluetooth issues… but based on Apple’s track record I wouldn’t hold my breath.
UPDATE 4/2/15: Tonight I tried to stream Bluetooth audio from Pandora and Rhapsody through my UE Boom.  I had my Pebble Steel, Panasonic 6.0 DECT Link-to-Cell Cordless Phone System, and UE Boom connected via Bluetooth at the time.  Bluetooth audio skipped 1-2 times per second.  This issue is getting very frustrating... to the point where I want to throw my iPhone in the trash.

  • HP PhotoSmart 7510 suddenly has severe connectivity issues

I have a HP PhotoSmart 7510 printer since about 2 months. Initial setup worked like a charm and the printer has been working pretty much perfectly for the last 2 months. Wireless printing, scanning and internet access on the printer (e.g. for Facebook photos) all worked. Just from time to time i would get the occasional (mildly annoying) message on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable" but it usually worked itself out and whenever I needed it to work, it did work.
But since a few days ago, it has some severe connectivity issues. I didn't change any settings on the printer, router or computer - the issues just started appearing by themselves. I startet getting much more frequent messages on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable". I noticed I couldn't print anymore, and restarting computer, printer and/or router didn't help at all. The only thing so far i managed to print wirelessly since the problems started were the first 5 pixel rows of an image I tried to print, the rest didn't transmit.
It seems the printer still connects to the WLAN but printing and scanning no longer work, and whenever I try to access a web service on the printer (like Facebook) it says it has no internet connection, even though the WLAN light is lit up (not blinking) and all the wireless status reports say "congratulations, no problems found" and display IPs etc. just like normal.
I looked at the threads "PhotoSmart 7510 connects to router, but not to the web.", "Wireless printer (HP Photosmart 7510) not connecting to network" and "Photosmart 7510 won't connect to Web Services" but they weren't a big help. Activating EWS didn't work because even though the printer showed its IP address to be 192.168.1.3, when I entered this in my web browser it didn't find the printers configuration page.
I tried the following steps from one of the threads:
    1. Restore the Network defaults
    2. Unplug the printers power cord while it is still on. Leave it unplugged and walk to the router.
    3. While the router is still on, unplug the power cord from the router, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the router. Once plugged back in the router should power on automatically.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
    5. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
    6. Try enabling Web Services.
I followed these steps exactly. Interestingly, even though I had done step 1 and restored the network settings to factory defaults, after turning back on, the printer somehow still had its old settings saved and reconnected to the network.
It seemed to have fixed the problem, the printer finally had internet access again (Facebook app showed my photos) and scan to computer found my PC. But after just about 3 minutes, the printer had lost its internet connectivity again. When opening the Facebook app, it displayed the same error message it did before. And printing no longer worked as well.
So, what is wrong with this printer?! It has the newest software update by the way (I checked during the 3 minutes it had internet access.) My computer is a HP Windows 7 x64 machine (EliteBook 6930p) and the router I'm using is a Netgear WNDR3700.
I specifically bought this printer for my studies at university. In one week i have my exams and in order to study I REALLY need to be able to print some of my course materials! So any help as quickly as possible would be greatly appreciated. Or do you think this is a case for a warranty replacement, considering the printer's really strange and error-prone behavior?
    Thanks a lot!

I can assure you that it is not a router issue.  It appears to me that it is a driver compatibility with Windows OS.  After trying to get to the bottom of this since my Photosmart 7525 was new and reading just about every forum and blog, I have come to the conclusion that the issue must be related to the HP driver itself.
The issue does not seem to affect any Mac systems, and from one forum someone was able to fix it by downloading new drivers compatible with 64-bit systems (which seem to not be affected by the glitch).  But that leaves us 32-bit people stuck with the current driver which does not work.
The printer is connected with good signal to the wireless router (no matter who's router it is and what configuration is made).  The printer can be pinged from the router and any computer on the network which is not currently being affected by this issue.  However, the affected computer fails pings by either request timed out, or destination host unreachable.  Pings are successful from the affected computer to any other device on the network.  The only way to recover (at least for a few days) is to reboot the affected computer.
Also, from the display on the 7525, the network tests pass without issue.  I can also download and print content from the internet with no issues.
Please do a quick google search of this issue and you will see several THOUSAND entries of people with the same request.  This is a serious issue that people are having and everything is pointing to an HP problem (not routers, improper installation of software or drivers, etc...).  I agree with several other customers that HP should be on the hook for this fix.  I will give it another couple weeks, then back to the store for a reliable unit from another competitor (Canon, Lexmark, etc..)
Thank you in advance for escalating this issue to product engineering,
    S. Hunn

  • Excel ODBC Connection Issues

I'm having some issues importing external data from an Oracle 9i database.
    Here is what is happening:
I am initially able to import data from the table I want to into Excel.
I do this through "Data -> Import External Data -> New Database Query" where I have my .ORA data source. I'm able to log in using my user and password and import the table. My problems come after I import this first set of data.
If I try to "Edit Query…" I get an error box that says "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed".
If I try to "Refresh Data" I get two error boxes. The first is just: "[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]" and the next says: "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed". It then prompts me for the User name and password of the DB I'm connecting and after I enter the information, I get the same two error messages.
Also, if I attempt to establish another connection following the "Data -> Import External Data…" steps I run into a different problem. Upon entering the information for the User Name and password prompt I get two error messages. One says "!" and the next box says "Couldn't read this file". Once I click "OK" in those boxes, the Microsoft Query window automatically opens with nothing in it.
I can't seem to figure out why I can initially pull down data and then cannot succeed afterwards. I'm unable to connect to the DB I have through Excel until I completely closed all Microsoft Excel instances.
I also use this data source in Microsoft Access without any problems.
    My Excel version is 2003.
I'm using Oracle Drivers I'm using are from an "Instant Client" package.
Any thoughts why I'm having these connections issues?
    Thanks in advance.

    This issue is closed.
    The solution was:
"Data -> Import External Data -> Import Data"
Select "New Source" and select the "Oracle" data source and filled in the appropriate information. This was similar to the database query but it actually works.

  • My brand new mac pro always had Internet connection issues at school. WHY is that? I see the school's Internet working perfectly fine on other PC's, but there is never a day where my mac doesn't have Internet connection issues at school. How do I fix it?

I got my mac pro in the middle of August. School started the week after. Internet was working perfectly fine at home. But at school, I never had a good connection. Sometimes on the good days I get a connection when I'm sitting at the exact spot in class I always sit at. It's ridiculous and it's frustrating. I invested my money into this laptop and I'm beginning to regret it. I thought it was the school's Internet, but I don't see Internet issues with other PC users. It's most frustrating on registration days and I'm trying to register for my classes before it gets taken, but again... Internet connection issues. It's random. Majority of the time, it doesn't work at all. I've done Network Diagnosis and turning WiFi off then turning it on again. I've done everything I could. I put my money on this laptop and it was a lot of money. I could have bought an 800 dollars laptop and I would have Internet connection anywhere on campus. So, I don't want to continue everyday to regret on buying this laptop every time I try to connect to the Internet at school or Starbucks or anywhere else. How do I fix this? What's the problem ?
At school, I heard this guy had a problem with Internet connections too and he owned a new mac book pro. He said something like Apple messed up on something, but he fixed it. If I knew mac book pro's had these issues I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. It's freezing on me every other day. It's ridiculous. But what concerns me the most is the Internet connection. So someone please tell me what can I do next to prevent the problem? Am I doing something wrong maybe?

    Hi Kevin,
I'm using an XLR input mic which is connected to the phantom power enabled XLR mic socket on a USB M-Audio M-Track. The M-Track is connected by USB to the Mac Pro - so effectively I've got an M-Audio USB soundcard with a mic input.  I've also tried a microphone that is a straight XLR to USB cable (guessing with some soundcard chip buried in the usb plug) but that also yields the same effect of bad latency, intermittent quality, stuttering and repeating and echoing (without the speakers on during record so its not feedback).
The mic works absolutely fine with other recording applications I have on the mac at the moment - albeit non-adobe ones (tested it on the EasyAudioRecorder - and it lives up to its name. it's easy)
I will try with Audition and report back, but sitting here right now I can imagine it would work fine with audition too - it just seems to be the way premiere is set up for recording into the timeline is a bit sketchy.  I'm willing to accept it might well be a quirk with the new Mac Pro trashcan - I'm not weighting all the woes on premiere.
Any thoughts or am I out of luck to sit with my fingers crossed for a fix in the next round of updates?
    Nathan.
