FSG reports - Entered and translated currency (11i)

Hi guys,
This is the problem. I want to generate a report in my functional currency which is LKR (Sri Lankan Rupees) with a seperate column in the same report for transaction that have been entered in the foreign currency (USD/GBP).
The account assignments are such that journals are entered in LKR and USD/GBP to most of the account combinations. I defined the 1st column as LKR (in the Balance Control region)and didnt attach a Control Value. I defined the second column as USD (in the balance control region) and gave the control value as 1.
Afterwards in the report definition, under control values i gave 1, USD, Entered Currency and ran the report.
In the output, the second column which was defined as USD in the balance control gave the correct results. But the values in the first column gave zero values. I'm assuming this is because the Control Value defaulted to colomn one as well.
The ideal result in column one should be an aggregate of LKR entered balances and USD translated balances. How do i achieve this?

i see two tabs which i am not familiar with
    1.reporting agent
    2. translation
i know few things about reporting agent that
we need to have a query with exceptions
so that we can assign this to ur mail for any exceptions
    occuring in the query
but i dont have any clue about translations.
    could any one suggest me
    i will assign points

Exceptions is one part of the Reporting Agent.
You can create Print settings, precalculate web templates, value sets..etc.

  • FSG Reports : Row Set Account assignments (Display Type to show Account nar

I have an FSG related issue. I've defined a report using a basic row set and a column set. In my row set, I've used account assignments and the display type as 'Expand' to my natural account. Is it possible to show the narration of the account in the report instead of the natural account number?
For example, My report now displays '1401' - which is the natural account number. I want to display its narration which reads 'Revenue'

    Hi Miranga,
it is possible to display the Account code description .. infact you can display both account code and description ... for which you need to create a ROW ORDER and attach it to your FSG Report ...
    Perform the below steps :
    1) Switch responsibility to General Ledger
    2) Navigate to Reports > Define > Order
    3) Enter a name for the ROW ORDER field
    4) In the Account Display section, enter SEQ as 1, Segment as ACCOUNT, order by as VALUE and DISPLAY as VALUE AND DESCRIPTION and Width as 15 ..
You can increase/decrease the width based on the how the data is appearing in your report output ...
    5) Save the record ..
    6) Navigate to Reports > Define > Report
    7) Query your report ....
    8) In the optional Components section, click on the Row Order field and select the row order you have configured above from List of values ..
    9) Save the changes made to the report ...
    10) Run the FSG report afresh and see the output ...

  • 11i FSG Reports - Non recognition of reversal when displaying entered cur

    Hi,
I created an FSG report in which i was able to get 3 columns, the first one stands for GL Balances in LKR (Functional currency) and the next two columns stands for USD and GBP (Entered Currency)
To get the two columns in entered currency i created a Column Set in which i parameterized the last two columns with two control values and adopted these control values when defining the Report. The Accounting Combinations were given to the row set for the first column and the Column Set for the second & third columns. By this i was able to get a report which showed the total balance in Functional Currency and two other columns to display journals entered in a foreign currency to the same account (USD and GBP).
However, after reversing one of the earlier Journal Entries i posted in GBP, the relevant column in the Report did not get updated. The Functional Currency GL balance was updated.

    Hi,
Have you updated the Translation balances after reversing the journal. I mean, you have to run the Translation program and update the required currency balances.

    Hi
You need to do the following
    In 11i
    1. You need to set up Reporting Set of Books to get the transactions and reports in Reporting currency for Local Currency, Functional Currency.
    2. If your Functional Currency is USD, Reporting Currency is EUR and Local Currency is AED, then you need to set Main SOB in USD and Reporting SOB in EUR and AED.
    In R12
    1. You can set Reporting currency if you need the transactions and reports in Reporting currency provided Chart of Accounts, Calendar and Convention is same.
If your Functional Currency is USD, Reporting Currency is EUR and Local Currency is AED, then you need to set Main SOB in USD and Reporting SOB in EUR and AED.
    2. If the requirement is not only currency but you need for a different Calendar or COA or Accounting convention, then you need to set a Secondary Ledger
    Hope this helps

  • FSG and multi-currency

When I run a FSG report, FSG uses functional currency to show. But I enter other currency in currency field of FSG requests, the result is always zero.

    Hi
You should define a control value in row set or column set, then specific the control value in report definition.... when you generate the report you can use any currency but the report show the currency that you define.

  • Report to retrieve balance sheet accounts in foreign and local currencies?

    Hello,
I have question regarding the availability of a report in SAP. I am wondering if a report exists in SAP to retrieve the total outstanding balances on any given date for all the balance sheet accounts (including GRIR trade) in both functional and foreign currency.
I am currently using the FAGLL03 to do this but the problem is that this report is timing out when I select too many accounts.
Does anyone know if such a report exists in SAP (besides the FAGLL03 which takes too long to run)?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hi
A quick way is to  run FAGLL03 in the background as a scheduled job.

  • Z5A German Foreign Trade Report and company currency not Euro

We recently create a German company with USD as local currency and group currency, Euro being only the third currency.
There is an issue with the German foreign trade regulation reports (Z5E - RFAWVZ5A) that is a legal report for the authorities and that normally distinguishes postings made in Euro from those done in another currencies.
As the local currency of the company is the US dollar, all the postings whatever the currency of the posting is are in the samee column 888, there is nothing in the column 899.
Do you know how it would be possible to get the right result, postings in Euro in the column 888 and other postings in column 899 even if the company currency is not the Euro??
    thanks in advance
    Frédérique

    Hi,
You have the answer in the following forum thread:
Re: Changing Currency of one Company
The best way is in fact to create a new entity and then operate all steps mentioned in this thread.
Not very complicated, but you should test that on your test environment first, or at least backup all your records, in order to safe-guard the process.
    Hope this will help.
    Kind Regards,

  • XSL and FSG report with XML output

I have 5 FSG Reports combined into one reportset. all these reports output type as XML. Once the reportset is submitted and all the FSG reports are completed , i want to call a XSL program which will combine all the 5 FSG XML outputs. Please advice me how to use the xsl program to combine all the FSG XML Outputs.

Phew thats gonna be some XSL bearing in mind how complex the FSG XML is. How much data are we talking about here ? There might be a simpler solution as long as there is not a huge amount of data.

  • How to report with local and global currency in Deliveries?

    Dear all,
i am working on a delivery scenario where i have in the datasource NETWR(Net value
    ), WAERK (Document currency).
I would like to be able to report with local currency and global currency.
Could you please help by explaining how to proceed?
    Thank you.
    Cheers

    Hi Gilo,
You have to check with the business on the following.
    1) What would be the key date of currency conversion? Is this any document date from the transaction ( Delivery Date ) or report execution date?
    2) What would be the target currency ? ( for local and Global currency ). Whether this can be determined at the time of loading or should it be based on user selection criteria?
    3) What is the exchange rate type that has to be used? ( for example 'M' ).
Once you have the answers to these questions, you can decide whether to do the currency conversion in the backend or front end in the report during runtime.
For example, if the user wants to input the target currency on selection variable and wants to use the exchage rate as of the report execution date, then this currency onversion has to be done at runtime.
For more details,Please check help.sap.com or SDN

  • Report Painter and currency issue

    Hi All:
We have several report painter based on table FAGLFLEXT and have a problem maintaing the company code currency in report results.
    Here is the scenario:
User 1 runs report for a company code A in country A with Currency A
User 1 does a currency conversion to Currency B.  Report is now shown in Company code A, for Country A with Currency B
User 1 exits report and is prompted to if they want to save their data.
User 1 selects that they do want to save data (this is a data save..not a report layout or defintion save).
User 2 now runs same report for Company code C in country C with currency C
Results of report are now in Currency B as this was what was saved by User 1
I have found that it requires both the currency conversion and the Save Data function to make this happen.  If only one of these steps is done, User 2 gets results in Currency C.
I believe I can fix the problem by removing the authorization to "Save Data"...but would like to find a better solution..Any ideas would be most appreciated

  • Reporting currency and Functional currency?

How can I set up the reporting currency which is different from the functional currency in the set of book?
    Thanks,
    Amy

    Hi,
Yes.... We are using "Chart of Accounts" and "Calendar" as Primary SOB's.
We have many Set of Books and all are using same "Chart of Accounts" and "Calendar", just the functional currencies are different.
    Let me provide more info:
    1) We have a set of book named as "RS_ASIA" with below settings:
COA is "ASIA_COA", the calendar is "ASIP_CAL" and functional currency is "USD".
For now I to print out financial statments with 2 currencies, one is USD and I think we don't any problem. Another currency is "HKD" and I think we have to set up as "Reporting Currency" for print out financial statement.
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks.

    Hi latha,
I tried the same in my system which is working fine, where i had selected the employement status as '1' and executed the report and i got all the dates as per the data base.
