Service callout can ONLY be used to call Proxy/Business services which are two-way, i.e. which have a response as well. You can not use Service Callout to call a one way service (for ex. a business service to publish a message to JMS queue or MQ queue).
For calling such services you should use Publish action and use QoS option as Exactly-Once within Publish action if you want to catch any errors in Put/Publish.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
As per client's requirement, we shouldn't be using java service for this functionality.
And as you said, the oracle adapters are not taking anywhere, but guess have no other choice..

  • How to find the File name using the FTP Adapter

    hi all,
how to find the File name using the FTP Adapter with BPEL.
    Regards

    Found the solution for this.
First In the mediator's routing rule use assign property $in.property.jca.file.FileName to $out.property.jca.file.FileName
In the BPEL's receive activity go to the properties tab and get the property to a BPEL variable. That should do it.
    Thanks for the posts

  • Need to throw an alert or send an email if a message fails in the adapter e

    Hello Guys,
We have 2 different types of scenarios Idoc to file and File to Idoc.
    1) Idoc to File:
We need to send an email if the idoc message fails in the Adapter engine ( system error in the adapter engine)
    2) File to Idoc:
We need to send an email if the incoming file fails in the Adapter engine ( system error in the adapter engine) or fails in the communication channel.
How can this be acheived ?

    Hi,
U can send mails if either sender or receiver side message fails and any error in intergration engine or adapter engine using Alert management.
Alerting is an function of Runtime Workbench along with Message archiving,End-to-end monitoring, Performance Monitoring,Cache monitoring.
Alerting is no longer dependent on the configuration and activation of end-to-end
monitoring. Consequently, the delay between when an error occurs in message
processing and the creation of an alert is significantly reduced. Furthermore, you no
longer need to schedule the report SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET as a
background job.The Runtime Workbench has CCMS Alert Monitor thru which
You can now configure one new CCMS Alert Monitor per Adapter Engine for
adapter-specific processing errors.Alerts triggered by the Runtime Workbench can now be forwarded to the CCMS Alert
    Monitor and displayed there.
    See also SAP Note 824039.
Thru Runtime Workbench we can access alert inbox, alert configuration
In process Integration with Central SAP Monitoring Infrastructure we Drill down to individual process steps and Use SAP Web AS Alert Framework.

    Hi,
We have a firewall between soa server and ftp server. There is no proxy server configured on the firewall...
We are able to do sftp through command prompt from soa server to ftp server...Some facts above look discordant... My understanding is you have to use http to access a ftp server running outside a firewall and socket if it's inside a firewall...
However, you seem to have access with socket from FtpAdapter and also are able to do sftp via command prompt (without using a proxy!)... Those facts make me believe that the connection is actually not going through the firewall... Is the Ftp server in the internal network? Is the soa server running on Windows or Linux?
Recheck your configuration according to steps on the document bellow and do some further investigation to assure that the connection from soa server to the ftp server is actually going through the firewall... Ask for the network administrator to close the SFTP port on the firewall and see if you still can connect to it...

  • FTP Adapter Unable to change directory 'inputDir'

Hi all. I'm trying to put the file into BPEL Process, transform and put it to the output directory like in tutorial 129.FTPAdapter FTPDebatching. But I've got this message:

What am i must to do?

    Hi Varun,
Review of the ftp protocol specification
    http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc959/
    http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc959/5_Declarative.html
    shows that LIST command
    LIST
    125, 150
    226, 250
    425, 426, 451
    450
    500, 501, 502, 421, 530
does not have 550 code among the codes which are supposed to be returned by ftp server in response
to ls command. So, it looks like the ftp server running on AIX platofrm violates the ftp protocol specification.
As a result bpel ftp adapter returns an error and the process goes off-line.
    Solution:
    Apply patch 4508850.
If for any reason the official patch does not work, then apply the patch manually using the following steps:
    1. Stop OC4J_BPEL
    2. Create the following directories:
    $O_H\integration\orabpel\system\classes\oracle\tip\adapter\file\inbound
    $O_H\integration\orabpel\system\classes\oracle\tip\adapter\ftp\inbound
    3. Copy the following files
    FileSource.class, PollWork.class, FTPSource.class
    from the patch to
    $O_H\integration\orabpel\system\classes\oracle\tip\adapter\file\inbound\FileSource.class
    $O_H\integration\orabpel\system\classes\oracle\tip\adapter\file\inbound\PollWork.class
    $O_H\integration\orabpel\system\classes\oracle\tip\adapter\ftp\inbound\FTPSource.class
    4. Restart OC4J_BPEL

  • Need help with a simple process with FTP Adapter and File Adapter

I am trying out a simple BPEL process that gets a file in opaque mode from a FTP server using a FTP adapter and writes it to the local file system using a File Adapter. However, the file written is always empty (zero bytes). I then tried out the FTPDebatching sample using the same FTP server JNDI name and this work fine surprisingly. I also verified by looking at the FTP server logs that my process actually does hit the FTP server and seems to list the files based on the filtering condition - but it does not issue any GET or RETR commands to actually get the files. I am suspecting that the problem could be in the Receive, Assign or Invoke activities, but I am not able identify what it is.
I can provide additional info such as the contents of my bpel and wsdl files if needed.
Would appreciate if someone can help me with this at the earliest.
    Thanks
    Jay

  • Dynamic JNDI in FTP Adapter | jca.jndi property not picked by Adapter

    Hi,
I am trying to pass jndi dynamically to FTP adapter using the steps mentioned in http://blogs.oracle.com/adapters/entry/changing_the_connection_factory_jndi_dynamically_in_ftp_adapter.
I have configured FTP jndi(eis/Ftp/SoaFtpAdapter) at app server.
And included the following property in the invoke activity that calls the FTP adapter
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.jndi" variable="jndiLocation"/>
Invoke activity definition looks as following

    Hi,
Since I am working on BPEL 2.0
    Following changes solved my problem.
In the invoke activity, I replaced the following xml tag

          <bpelx:toProperties>

  • OS commands in FTP adapter

    Hi Experts,
we are trying to use the OS command in the sender FTP adapter to compress the huge text files(approx 2 GB) before we pick the file to avoid the server issues.
for which we are using the OS command,
    ssh -n -l user targetserver "cd /tagetdirectory; compress ExportFile.xml;mv ExportFile.xml.Z ExportFile.xml"
The above is a single command supplied by the Basis team.
the above command makes the connection to the target server with  the user ( password not required)and then compresses the file.
I used the command in the sender FTP adapter as is.
But the message processing made the XI server unavailable  and the process got failed due to HTTP_TRANSMISSION_ERROR
Please suggest on the OS command, Is it a right command ? or do I need to add anything to it, to make it work.
Please note that for the File Adapter transport protocol "FTP", the operating system command is NOT
executed on the FTP server, but on the server hosting the Adapter Engine ( please refer to
    SAP note: 841704).
    Thanks,
    MK

    Thanks Michal,
For "FTP" the command will be executed on the but on the server hosting the Adapter Engine, right?
    ssh -n -l user targetserver "cd /targetdirectory; compress ExportFile.xml;mv ExportFile.xml.Z ExportFile.xml"
the command above is opening a secure channel from the XI host to the FTP host. We have a trusted relationship set up between the xiadm and ftpadm users which will allow this to occur without a password. and then it compress the file.
Please suggest further to resolve the issue.
    I really appreciate you help.
    Thanks,
    MK

  • Error with Archiving Faulty Source File in Sender FTP adapter

    Hi All,
I have configured a Sender FTP adapter with Processing Mode as Archive.
I am able to read the files from FTP server and archive all the successfuly processed file in the PI aplication server directory XXX/success.
We need all the error files also to be archived on PI application server in directory XXXXX/Fail so I have checked the option Archive faulty Source Files and provided the application directory  XXXXX/Fail .
I have unchecked the option Archive Files on FTP server.
But the problem is when FTP adapter is getting any error files it is not able to archive it to application directory  XXXXX/Fail .
In RWB it is showing the error
Unable to archive faulty input file /data/abc.txt to /XXXX/fail/abc.txt
Cause: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 rename: No such file or directory
This directory is existing and works fine when I give this directory name in Archive directory of processing mode.
Sender FTP adapter is trying to archive the file in FTP server which I dont want and giving us this error.
If I give any Directory which is present in FTP server my error files are getting archived on FTP server but not in the archived folder.
I have already unchecked the option Archive Files on FTP server.
    Please help......
    I am on PI 7.11

  • How to use FTPS using FTP adapter

I am trying to create one BPEL process using SOA 11g 11.1.1.4, which will put file on remote location using ftp adapter. I have created JNDI properly and using wallet.
    useFtps= True
walletLocation= correct path of wallet created in Oracle HTTP Server(OHS)
    walletPassword = walletPassword
    host = ipaddress
    username = myUsername

For all this I have followed http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABEBGGD
Now, whenever I try to test that BPEL process it gives me error:
"Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'Put' failed due to: Error in establishing SSL session. Error in establishing SSL session. Any suggestion or resolutions are welcome.

    Hi,
When you configure the Connection Factory for FTP Adapter in Admin Console, provide the following values for the attributes like the hostname, username, password, port and the path of remote location as where
you want to write the file in remote Server i.e., ftpAbsolutePathBegin. Please fill this
attribute with the path like /soa/ftp/file (example path). If you are writing to a remote FTP server you need to create a Connection factory for that as above.
Please try this and let me know...
    Thanks,

  • FTP Adapter XSD Validation

    Hi All,
    Oracle InterConnect 10.1.2
    Oracle Adapters (AQ,FTP) using XSD
    FTP Adapter on local filesystem
In the FTP Adapter, Is there anyway to validate the XML content against the XSD?
The validation is happening at the common view when i use the "Validate XML" check box while creating the event in iStudio. However this option does not appear while configuring the FTP adapter in iStudio. I would like FTP adapter to reject the XML file if the XSD validation fails and move the file to the exception folder.
Objective: XSD should perform datatype, datasize and format validations.
    Thanks,
    Sherry

Can anyone let me know how to enforce the XSD validation in the adapter. As of now only the structure of the message is being checked.

    Hi,
Did you fill in the field Object Name in the Define Application View page in the Publish Wizard of your Application in iStudio?
There you have to fill in the name of the Business Object to which the event is corresponding. This makes it possible for the adapter to find the Common View.

  • Issues with FTP adapter

    Hello,
I m facing issues using the FTP adapter. I am using 10.1.3.1 standalone installed in my desktop.
    1) The FTP adapter doesnt poll continuously for the files. It dies off as soon the folder is empty. If there are incoming files after sometime, the BPEL process fails to pick them. I created an empty BPEL process that has a recieve activity from an FTP adapter as partner link
    2) The files are fetched and deleted but are never archived, despite setting the archive files. Can we not archive those files in another folder of same FTP server ?
    3) Sometimes, the files are deleted, but there is no activity or process shown in the BPEL console.
Can you please help me with these issues
    Thanks
    Harinath Gandhi

Are you able to upgrade to 10.1.3.3. A lot of issues with adapters are solved in this release.
