FullScreen problem with MovieClipLoader

Hi and thanks very very much for reading.
My problem is:  When I load a .swf via MovieClipLoader in ActionScript 2 -- Stage["fullScreen"] no longer works.  I am stuck in "normal" for the Stage.
If I run the loaded SWF without the preloader, then everything works fine and I can get to fullscreen mode.  So it seems the problem has to do with the preloader.
I am using loadMovieNum("FSTest.swf",0) to bring the loaded clip to Root level.  Thought that would solve my problem but it doesn't.
Here is some test code that demonstrates my problem.  You can see it run at: http://www.tommygameco.com/TestLoader.html
TESTLOADER.FLA:  (preloader)
var container:MovieClip = this.createEmptyMovieClip("container", this.getNextHighestDepth());
var FS_mc:MovieClip = container.createEmptyMovieClip("FSClip", container.getNextHighestDepth());
var mcLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
var listener:Object = new Object();
var interval:Object = new Object();
listener.onLoadInit = function() {
// make loaded movie _root
loadMovieNum("FSTest.swf",0);
mcLoader.addListener(listener);
mcLoader.loadClip("FSTest.swf", FS_mc);
stop();
FSTEST.FLA:  (Loaded Movie)
fsbutton.onRelease = function() {
Stage["displayState"]="fullScreen";
stageState.text = Stage["displayState"];
Thanks again!!  Any Clues are greatly appreciated!!!
Tom

Hi,
Problem was in the publish settings --- My loaded clip was set for "allow full screen" under publish options (file Menu, HTML Tab).  However the Pre-loader was not!!  Fixing that fixes the problem.

  • Common fullscreen problem with different issues.

    When videos run in full screen they slow and are not in time with sound. I have chrome and it comes with flash. I've tried installing Flash player 11, wiping free space on drive c to allow for more room to elevate pixels, etc. I have photoshop CS6 and recently noticed Adobe ExtendScript CS6 in my menu order. I tried debugging it. I cannot find it in my prgrams so it MUST come with photoshop CS6. Bridge cs6 and extension manager cs6 are also now visable but cannot be accessed in control panel. Currently I have no flash installed because it was taking up room and chrome has one already. I have worked extensively on this issue with no success. There HAS to be a remedy. This is rediculous. I do not wish to download anything, my protection is up-to-date. If you can help, please do.
    PS- Previously with Int.Exp. on Windows XP(still have Windows XP) this was solved by clicking the compatability view.
    Thanks and Cheers!

    Well two things. One is that a really dead iPod may need to trickle charge for a good 30 minutes or so before the battery's voltage has reached a "safe" level before the iPod's internal charging circuitry switches the charging to fast charging mode or allows the iPod to actually switch on.
    Second, on some Windows machines, the computer may be set up to power down the USB ports when not in use. If the iPod isn't turning on and connecting to the port, then Windows may be keeping that port's power turned off so it never charges so never turns on so the port number power up. Nice circular logic there!
    Not sure what it is in Vista, but for XP it is normally...
    Start -> Control Panels -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device manager
    In the window that opens, expand (click on the sign) next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers
    You will see a number of things in that list. You want to RIGHT-Click on the "USB Root Hub" one. I am not sure if you have more than one if they still point to the same one, but open and change each to be sure. Anyway, right-click it, in the pop up menu pick Properties. In the next screen, pick the Power Management tab. There is a check box to "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power". I think default is checked, so that the ports power down. You want to unselect that box forcing your USB ports to stay powered up all the time.
    Now exit all that and plug in your iPod. If it is really low on the battery, it might be a while before you see any activity on the screen. So give it a good 30 minutes of charge time before you declare it truly a dead iPod. But hopefully it will charge up and come back to life.

  • Problem with Wine, NVidia and fullscreen games

    Hi,
    I'm writing about a problem i recently noticed with wine, nvidia gpu and fullscreen 2d games.Basically the problem is as follows - i am running arch with the latest kernel and nvidia drivers on Thinkpad T61 with NVidia Quadro NVS 140M. I have a problem with old 2d games like Red Alert 2, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Diablo 2, Heroes 3. All of these games do not support the native 1440x900 resolution of my screen and all of them work fine in window mode but crash if fullscreen is selected. I managed to get some of them working by making them work at higher resolutions. For example although Red Alert 2 does not support 1440x900, it can be easily made to work at that resolution and after i applied the necessary settings it worked. The same was with Heroes 3 - by default it does not support 1440x900 and it used to work only i window mode but there is a HD mod which allows it to run in higher resolutions and after i applied it it worked perfectly in fullscreen. I haven't thested Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale but i think it will work there too.
    The problem is that i cannot use this approach to all games - for example i must run Diablo 2 and Starcraft in their original resolutions. I read somewhere that the problem is that wine can only change between the resolutions described in the xorg.conf file and if doesn't find the necessary resolution the game will crash or will only take the portion of the screen that is its resolution - for example when i play Starcraft rather than stretching it to the whole screen it simply takes 640x480 pixels of my screen and the game is displayed in the top left corner of the screen leaving everything else black.
    I didn't have this problem before - it is something new though i'm not sure since when do i have the problem because i rarely play games. As for the idea that the problem may be related to the resolutions defined in the Xorg.conf file, my xorg.conf is automatically generated by the nvidia installer and there are no resolutions defined there.

    I remember that issue, with the 302 series.
    I have Nvidia 304.48 installed and the problem still exists (it also happens with Catalyst). This didn't occur with 295.59 using the same version of Wine.

  • Problem with the fullscreen setting in Mountain lion

    Hi, I am experiencing a problem with the full screen setting of my Mountain Lion. The trouble is that when I run certain apps such as Zotero or Scrivener and I open, say, the preferences window, this is automatically set in fullscreen, although it should not be. I have already got in contact with the Scrivener team and they suggested that was a problem related to one of the apps I use to manage my windows, i.e. RIghtzoom and Window Tidy. Following up this suggestion I uninstalled and restarted my laptop, but nothing has changed. I wonder if anyone has already experienced this problem or if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

  • Problem with Adobe Flash Player in fullscreen mode

    Hi everybody, I have noticed a problem with flash player while I'm watching streaming programs in fullscreen mode.
    The problem is that when I'm watching something in fullscreen mode and the quality is set to "high" I have a stammer in both sound and image.
    When I 'm watching in "medium" quality everything is fine in fullscreen mode.
    The default selection is "high", how can I change this to "medium" ?
    It's very annoying to change this all the time manually.
    thxx in advance
    p.s. I use windows 7 64bit ultimate and the latest version of both firefox and adobe flash player

  • Problem with Fullscreen mode

    Hello. I have problem with Fullscreen mode in Pages 09. Let me explain it. I launch Pages 09 on space nr 4, than i activate fullscreen mode and now when fullscreen is active i switch for example to space nr 2. And what happens? Pages also moves to space nr 2, but i don't want to move my pages to space nr 2. I guess it is a bug in Pages 09. Thank you for your advice.

    Hi There
    By the sounds of this behaviour you haven't set any space options for Pages within System Preferences (Expose and Spaces Pane). After experimenting with different options this is what I experience:
    1. Pages not listed in application assignment in spaces Preferences - Enter full screen in pages, switch from one space to another pages window will follow and exit fullscreen (this sounds like what you are experiencing).
    2. Pages set to every space in app assignment - Enter full screen in pages, switch from one space to another and pages will follow but wont exit full screen.
    3. Pages set to a single space in app assignment - Enter full screen in pages, switch from one space to another using control and arrow keys pages will pull me back into the space it is set to and will exit fullscreen. Using the control and number keys pages will stay in its set space but upon returning to that space pages had exited fullscreen.
    I suggest you add pages to the the spaces application assignment in System Preferences by clicking the plus arrow under the list of apps and select a specific space for pages to open in, once open Pages will only move from this space if you move it manually.
    You can send your feedback to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/pages.html if you wish
    Hope this helps

  • Problems with FullScreen using OSMF 1.5

    Hello. Sorry for my English first of all. =)
    I have interesting and specific problem with osmf. I'm using osmf to play playlist. Here is source code:
    public class VideoPlayer extends SpriteVisualElement
    private var mediaPlayerSprite:MediaPlayerSprite;
    public function VideoPlayer()
    super();
    mediaPlayerSprite = new MediaPlayerSprite();
    mediaPlayerSprite.width = width;
    mediaPlayerSprite.height = height;
    mediaPlayerSprite.scaleMode = ScaleMode.LETTERBOX;
    mediaPlayerSprite.mediaPlayer.autoPlay = true;
    mediaPlayerSprite.mediaPlayer.addEventListener(TimeEvent.COMPLETE, onMediaComplete);
    mediaPlayerSprite.mediaPlayer.addEventListener(MediaErrorEvent.MEDIA_ERROR, onMediaError);
    mediaPlayerSprite.mediaPlayer.addEventListener(MediaPlayerStateChangeEvent.MEDIA_PLAYER_ST ATE_CHANGE, onMediaPlayerStateChange);
    addChild(mediaPlayerSprite);
    public function set playlist(playlist:Vector.<String>):void
    var serialElement:SerialElement = new SerialElement();
    var videoElement:LightweightVideoElement;
    for each(var url:String in playlist)
    videoElement = new LightweightVideoElement();
    videoElement.smoothing = true;
    videoElement.resource = new URLResource(url);
    serialElement.addChild(videoElement);
    mediaPlayerSprite.media = serialElement;
    When flash player is in fullscreen mode and first video file is finished next video starts to play, but there is no picture. If I close fullscreen mode and then go fullscreen again, everything is all right. I've met this problem only in such installation: LG 37LE5300 connected to Acer Veriton N282G with Nvidia NG ION video card via original HDMI 1.3 cable. Windows 7 32 bit, Nvidia display drivers 257,29. In another combination everything works fine.
    So what can be a problem?

    Hi,
    Interesting bug indeed. Can you please log a bug with the details you provided on our bug system, http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FM so we can better track this issue? It will be also useful if you will give us also the code used for switching to full screen.
    Thanks,

  • Problem with fullscreen and TextArea

    I'm actually working to put a program in fullscreen mode. My interface is ok in fullscreen, I just got a problem with my TextArea. I don't arrive to get focus on them when it is in fullscreen...
    My cursor change, but I can't select the text inside.
    if someone got an idea?
    thanks,
    Thomas.

    It doesn't work. My textArea is selectable, but I begin to define my problem.
    When I'm in fullscreen, I don't arrive to get focus on the TextArea.
    myFocusListener = new FocusListener() {
                   public void focusGained(FocusEvent e) {
                        myProxy.sendFromComponentInt("selected", 1);
                   public void focusLost(FocusEvent e) {
                        myProxy.sendFromComponentInt("selected", 0);
    it never pass in focusGained when I'm in fullscreen mode, whereas it work fine in a classic Frame.
    I go in fullscreen mode like this :
    public void setFullscreen (){
         GraphicsEnvironment ge = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment();
         GraphicsDevice gd = ge.getDefaultScreenDevice ();
         GraphicsConfiguration gc = gd.getDefaultConfiguration ();
         Rectangle windowBounds = gc.getBounds();
    // resize my interface to the size of screen
         sendFromWindowIntInt ("resized", windowBounds.width, windowBounds.height);
         //System.out.println("largeur : "+ windowBounds.width +" hauteur : "+ windowBounds.height);
         JWindow win = new JWindow () ;
         win.setContentPane(window.getContentPane());
         gd.setFullScreenWindow (win) ;
         win.requestFocus();
    Got an Idea?
    thanks a lot.

    The problem with full screen is still there, even though mentioned as a bug fix - But it has improved. When opening RDC first time You have to click full screen twice to get i to full screen. When You don't close RDC program and connect again full screen
    is OK, but if You're ending RDC program and connecting again, its the same problem again.
    At least problems with the program crashing was solved a couple of versions ago - Thanks for that :)

    Hi Kim,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Do you still face that issue on your all device or single device?
    Have you tried using URI scheme?
    You can set the URI scheme and also set the screen according to your wish and you will find good result at first.

  • Problem with the FOR statement.....again!

    Hi everyone,
    Well I'm still trying to do a car slideshow using external
    files and can't seem to see the end. The current movie is here:
    http://www.virtuallglab.com/projects.html
    I also attach the code. My problem is I had originally set up
    an animation with 2 pictures sliding in with some text, and then
    wait 4 seconds before sliding out, and then next pictures and text
    would slide in and so on, using a setInterval.
    The problem is the FOR loop seems to skip the setInterval and
    the function "wait", so it just loops quickly and jumps to last
    picture, so on the example above, it just slides the last picture
    (i=9) and that's it!
    Can you not include another function within a FOR statement.
    Or is there a way to tell the FOR loop to wait until all motion is
    finished?
    Any help greatly appreciated
    import mx.transitions.*;
    import mx.transitions.easing.*;
    for (i=0; i<10 ; i++) {
    var picLeft = "pics/"+i+".jpg";
    var picRight = "pics/"+i+"b.jpg";
    var txtToLoad = "text/"+i+".txt";
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("leftHolder",1);
    leftHolder.loadMovie(picLeft,i,leftHolder.getNextHighestDepth());
    leftHolder._x = -200;
    leftHolder._y = 15;
    var leftTween:Tween = new Tween(leftHolder, "_x",
    Strong.easeOut, leftHolder._x, 10, 2, true);
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("centerHolder",2);
    centerHolder.loadMovie(picRight,i+"b",centerHolder.getNextHighestDepth());
    centerHolder._x = 180;
    centerHolder._y = 250;
    var centerTween:Tween = new Tween(centerHolder, "_y",
    Strong.easeOut, centerHolder._y, 15, 2, true);
    text._x = 600;
    myData = new LoadVars();
    myData.onLoad = function(){
    text.carText.text = this.content;
    myData.load(txtToLoad);
    var textTween:Tween = new Tween(text, "_x", Strong.easeOut,
    text._x, 420, 2, true);
    myInterval = setInterval(wait, 4000);
    function wait() {
    var leftTweenFinished:Tween = new Tween(leftHolder, "_x",
    Strong.easeOut, leftHolder._x, -200, 1, true);
    var centerTween:Tween = new Tween(centerHolder, "_y",
    Strong.easeOut, centerHolder._y, 250, 1, true);
    var textTween2:Tween = new Tween(text, "_x", Strong.easeOut,
    text._x, 600, 1, true);
    clearInterval(myInterval);
    ***************************************************************************************** ***

    There is no way to tell a for loop to wait. That is not what
    they do.
    The entire for loop will execute (if possible, and it doesn't
    enter some kind of continuous infinite loop) completely before each
    time the frame is rendered.
    If you want to spread things out over time you need to use
    the setInterval -- but not inside a for loop! If you do that you
    immediately set however many intervals as your loop has. In this
    case you will also assign the ids for those intervals to the same
    variable, effectively overwriting the value so you will never be
    able to clear most of those intervals.
    So you need to rethink you whole structure. Set up some kind
    of counter and limit like this:
    var slidesToShow:Number=10;
    var curSlide:Number=0;
    Then have your setInterval increment the curSlide each time
    it is called and check to see if it has shown all of them. That is
    where your "loop" comes in.
    As for the other part of your question -- yes you actually
    have two different issues going on -- again you cannot make a for
    loop wait for anything. So no there is no way to pause it while you
    wait for your tween to end. But you can be notified when a tween
    ends.
    Check out the documentation about the tween class in the help
    files. There you will find the onMotionFinished event. So you can
    set up one of those to start whatever needs to be started when the
    tween has finished.
    You should also use the MovieClipLoader class to load your
    images, because you have no idea how long it will take to load
    them. Using that class you get a nice event (onLoadInit) that tells
    you when the asset is ready to be used.
    Finally I'm thinking you might want to use setTimeout instead
    of setInterval. It only goes once, while setInterval repeats
    forever. So I would think your algorithm would be something like
    this.
    1. load external asset
    2. when ready animate in and set onMotionFinished handler
    3. when motion is finished start loading next asset and
    setTimeout for 4 seconds.
    4. when 4 seconds is up or the clip is loaded (which ever
    takes longer) go to 2 and repeat.
    If this is going to be run locally on a hard drive or CD you
    won't have any problem with the length of time it takes to load the
    external assets, but if it is over the web it will take time.

  • Problem with window focus in xmonad

    Hi!
    I have the following problem with xmonad:
    Suppose I do the following:
    1) go to fullscreen view
    2) Start an application app1 e.g. evince
    3) start another application on the same workspace app2 e.g. okular
    4) open in app2 a dialogue (e.g. a "file open" dialogue)
    5) press mod + tab until app1 is in the background of the dialogue
    (which is floated)
    6) click on the dialogue-window.
    Now the "background window" changes from app1 to app2. Is there a way
    to disable such a behaviour?
    Thanks

    Hi
    It's not necessary to use fm WRITE_FORM, if the data to be written are placed in a window but not assigned to a text element, they will be written automatically.
    So try to check if the data are in text element in your sapscript

  • Tty display problems with nvidia and uvesafb

    I'm trying to get my console to display correctly at 1080p; trying to do so through GRUB was always an absolute nightmare.
    The console displays fine with nouveau, but nouveau causes the infamous pink line bug, which is simply too irritating to ignore; nouveau is not an option.
    In the past, my console has run at low res and incorrect scale with nvidia, but I've ignored the problem since I prefer to use a virtual terminal in X.
    Now, if possible, I need to use the actual console for the purposes of module development.
    I installed v86d and uvesafb and configured the console for 1920x1080 and 32 bit depth.
    The console is displaying with the correct resolution now, but is surrounded by a black border, making the font distorted and extremely difficult to read.
    How can I get my console to scale correctly to fullscreen? Any ideas at all. I found nothing in the forums or wiki, and I'm out.
    I'm fairly certain there are no vga or video settings in GRUB that are interfering.

    Also, it might help to describe the behaviour more specifically / more in depth...
    The rendered part of the console occupies the same space as the GRUB boot menu.
    I installed and configured virtualbox a few weeks previously.
    I ran "sudo depmod -a" as the wiki / forums indicated it could remedy problems with virtual machines failing to start.
    It did fix the virtualbox problem; after reboot, suddenly lightdm *also* initally occupied the same window space as grub.
    That was new behaviour. When I logged in to xmonad, the desktop displayed similarly to GRUB.
    I hadn't tried fixing it; logging in with root followed by "ps -e | grep X" and "kill -9 <Xpid>" caused X as a whole to start behaving and scaling normally.
    I haven't rebooted until attempting to rectify the issue with my console.
    The oddity with scaling in lightdm and xmonad still shows up after reboot and is still reparable by killing X.
    Killing X doesn't - obviously - have any effect on console scale.

  • Problems with main menu

    I`ve managed to open a JFrame in fullscreen mode but I have problems with centering buttons. I want to have a menu that consists of a number of buttons and I want them to be centered (both vertically and horizontally). I have the buttons in a JPanel but how can I center it now?
    EDIT:
    public class MainMenu extends JPanel{
         private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
         private JButton newGame, quit;
         private JPanel buttons;
         public MainMenu(){
              newGame = new JButton("New Game");
              quit = new JButton("Quit");
              newGame.setAlignmentX(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              quit.setAlignmentX(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              buttons = new JPanel();
              buttons.setLayout( new BoxLayout(buttons, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              buttons.setAlignmentY(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              buttons.add(newGame);
              buttons.add(quit);
              add(buttons);
    In a JFrame class I call this like that:
    this.setContentPane( new MainMenu() );

    Firstly make sure that your JPanel is the same size as your screen, use a setsize method. Secondly, go to www.javaalmanac.com and search for gridbaglayout. A gridbaglayout is a way to organize components horizontally and vertically.
