Function Module, Group and Method

Hello All,
I have a problem which I do not know why it's happening. I have an Interface method which calls a Function Module. This interface method does not have any syntax errors.
In the Function Module itself there is field which is definied in the FUNCTION TOP INCLUDE. So It should be visible during the call of the FM. But when executing the method it dumps on the field that is in the FUNCTION TOP INCLUDE. Can someone explain why it's happening?

Guys,
Everything was active, the strange thing is that when I cal the FM in an normale executable program, everything is ok.
I do not get this.

Grand Totals functionality under Group and Sort

Hello community,
Does anyone know if there is a solution for rolling up text fields in the summary line item (under the Show Grand Totals functionality under Group and Sort)? I can only find that date fields and formula fields summarize. I would like to be able to summarize all the data in one line items so I wont have a really long schedule and I can present to my end users accordingly.

Hope I understand, if you have the groups setup, you should be able to (CRXI instructions) right click on the item in the Details line, insert a summary, you can select sum, add the sum to the group. For the locations, insert a summary count, and add that to the groups.
What I do sometimes, is select the option to add summary to all groups, Perhaps change the font to red, I can see the totals
I want, and just suppress the other groups. Just a quick and dirty way to do the totals.

Function modules Exit and Init

What is the purpose of function modules init and exit in the "Exit" functions.
why two function modules are using in the Exit functions?

A function module to initialize the planning function. This function module is optional. It is only required if new transaction data records are to be generated in the planning function that are different, in terms of the combinations of values, to characteristics in the previous transaction data that are not to be changed. The keys for these new transaction data records are delivered by the function module in the table ETO_CHAS. The keys are supplemented by the keys of the transaction data that already exist. The data objects for which the planning function is called up are formed from these keys. They also influence how often and with which combinations of transaction data the second function module is called up.
<b>Function Module:</b>
A function module that is called up several times and that changes transaction data records. This function module receives a package of transaction data records in each case. These differ only in their characteristics to be changed. They have the same values as far as all other characteristics are concerned. The transaction data is in table XTH_DATA. Only the existing records are transferred. If key combinations were returned by the initialization function module, and no transaction data exists for these, then table XTH_DATA is empty. The key combination is in the table ITO_CHASEL.
Its not necessary to write a init FM unless you need to generate new records by the exit function.

Function module upload and download

while using Upload and download function modules, how to avoid popup for providing file path, as am already passing it from reading from the selections screen. while running again i dont want to get the popup asking file path.

A function module or class/method to look up repository objects?

Hi,
Does anyone know of a class/method or a function module that returns back objects of a namespace in the integration repository.
For example, I would like to be able to retrieve all the message interfaces of a particular namespace.

I am not sure about the function module. But you can look up all the objects with their IDs using transaction sxi_cache.

VA05 is for list of sales order. But if you want to change pricing of material stocks go for follwoing fn module.
BAPI_SALESORDSTCK_PRICE_CHANGE
If you want other BAPI for sales related, just go to SE37, give BAPISALE and press F4, you will get all the BAPI fn modules.

Abap function module http_post and umlaut characters

I am using abap function module HTTP_POST to frame xml and send the data to our middleware system 'CASTIRON'.
Everything works fine but when there are any umlaut characters in xml, the function HTTP_POPST is unable to transmit the data and is creating SM21 updation failures. We are on ECC 6.0 unicode system.
Any help is vey much appreciated.

Are you using a CDATA tag to encapsulate your data. Try doing it.

Function module L_TO_CREATE_MULTIPLE and commit

Hi,
Does anyone knows if in one report I call function module L_TO_CREATE_MULTIPLE with parameter I_COMMIT_WORK = SPACE and if in the main report after the call of the function module i do a commit command that allows that the transfer order is created ? And are the tables received if the call of L_TO_CREATE_MULTIPLE correct with the information of the created transfer order ?
Or in other way if I really want to create the transfer order, I must pass the parameter I_COMMIT_WORK = 'X' ?

Hi Paulo,
The main Idea here is COMMIT should get called once the callto Function module L_TO_CREATE_MULTIPLE is executed so it really doesn't makes different if you call L_TO_CREATE_MULTIPLE with I_COMMIT = 'X'
or you call L_TO_CREATE_MULTIPLE with I_COMMIT = SPACE and later to this call to Function module do COMMIT WORK, both are effectively same.
One thing that needs to be taken care is if you are calling L_TO_CREATE_MULTIPLE in LOOP you have to do COMMIT after each call.

How to Create a Function module z_create and to track the error records?

I want to create a function module z_create which will insert the data from the internal tables gt_model_master and gt_model into the corresponding database custom tables y_model_master.
Secondly if any error is encountered during the above updation, then how to track those error records ?

Call of a function module from a method / catch of exceptions

how do you catch the error of a function module that is called within the start routine of a data transfer process? The process terminates in case of an exceptions
E.G.

uncomment the exceptions section of your call. ie
EXCEPTIONS
NO_RATE_FOUND = 1
OVERFLOW = 2
NO_FACTORS_FOUND = 3
NO_SPREAD_FOUND = 4
DERIVED_2_TIMES = 5
OTHERS = 6.
Afterwards check sy-subrc value to see if exception has occured. If it is zero, call was successful otherwise it will have a value corresponding to the exception occured (as specified in the code above)

Function module RFC_READ_RABLE and currency fields

I am using RFC_READ_TABLE to access table BSEG on a remote system. My problem is retrieving field PSWBT which is a currency field. The value is returned as 20202020203.43 and overwrites part of the next field too. The value should be 4,083.33
Does anyone have any experence with currency fields in this situation and can offer any advice?

Thank you for your help. I have now resolved the issue.
Yes I was using table FIELDS. Wim was correct that I also needed to use field PSWSL but this alone did not solve the problem. I had to define the currency field PSWBT as char 13. When the field was retrieved using RFC_READ_TABLE, I condensed the field and then moved it back to a currency field. As follows:
TYPES : BEGIN OF ty_accdoc,
          pswbt(13),
          pswsl           type pswsl,
        END OF ty_accdoc.
DATA   : wa_accdoc         TYPE ty_accdoc,
         i_accdoc         TYPE TABLE OF ty_accdoc.
DATA   : wa-pswbt          TYPE pswbt.
wa_fields-fieldname = 'PSWBT'. APPEND wa_fields TO i_fields.
wa_fields-fieldname = 'PSWSL'. APPEND wa_fields TO i_fields.
