Function Module to Pause / Wait write statement

Hello Everyone !
Write 'ABC'.
Write 'XYZ'.
In between this statement I want a pause.
ABC should be displayed and after few seconds XYZ should be displayed.
Which function module can be used for this ???

The output screen's are passive in nature and cannot be refreshed, if your intention is to update the user with a message or something, you could use the status bar and issue the messages to the user, or use the FM SAPGUI_PROGRESS_INDICATOR below is a code snippet using the same.

RFC Function module needed for getting table details in APO from R/3

1. Call fm RFC_READ_TABLE and give destination and table name ( But i am not sure how it will work SCIF enviornment of APO)

2. Create a custom function module in APO side and call from R/3 side using destnation option

Function Module in a Generic Function Module Extractor

I want to use a generic function module (ZFM_CONNECTION_DETAIL) in a Generic Function Module based Extractor.
After Creating, I have checked it in RSA3... Data is showing properly on the Extractor Check.
And replicated on BW side, after triggering the extractor using infopackageu2026 only one record is coming on the target side (BW).
And one job is running endless on the source system.
Generic extractor on the normal code is working properly on both sides.
But problem occurs while I was using Function Module in the Generic function Module extractor.
Waiting for a Reply with solution...........

Function module to copy INVOIC IDOC

One of our customers use the IDOC message type INVOIC. When the IDOC are received and the proces has been started, we will like to make a copy of the IDOC with the status code 70.
I know this functionality exist when we change the segment data using the transaction code BD87, and I have debugged this transaction, but the "copy" functionality are developed in the program SAPLEDI5 and not in a function module.
I am looking for a function module to handle this functionality. Hope you can help me.

To make a copy of idoc message type, you simply have to find the linked Function module of the Idoc. So for INVOIC, there would be a linked Function Module , you can copy the interface of the Function Module and build your own custom Function Module (Z function module) to attach it to the message type.
So the steps to your problem would be:
1. Copy the FM to attached mesaage type into a Z function module.
2. Write the functionality you require in your Z function module.
3. Attach the message type/ idoc type to this function module. The systematic steps to this can be simply carried out in the Transaction WEDI which is an area menu for EDI/IDOC . Depending on whether it is inbound/outbound, you can follow the steps.

HR ABAP - Using of function module HR_READ_INFOTYPE

I want to replace the below SELECT statement with the function module by HR_READ_INFOTYPE.

But the problem is, in the where condition i have to use LE or GE condition for endda and begda. So how can i use the function module for replacing the select statement without changing the functionality.

You are selecting a single entry... So you will just need to pass the variable l_assgnda to the BEGDA and ENDDA parameters of the FM...
added: also, if that infotype can have concurrent records (but in that case the select is not correct), you will have to take the first one from INFTY_TAB...

Create a function module in SE37 and maintain the name of function module in table RSPLF_FDIR. Then you would be able to call the same function module in FOX using CALL statement.

The FM code is stored in the INCLUDES.
go to SE37- give the FM
u can c the code of the FM.
There u will get the import and export parameters.
if you know the import paramaters u can run the program there itself and test the ouput.

No need to go for function module also. Just write the below code and execute your program, then it will directly goto SE38:
call transaction 'SE38'.
Anyway if the login have no authorization then you cant login.

Hi,
The option mentioned is a part of the enhancement framework provided by SAP to write Implict enhancements
Search for Keyword "Implict enhancements" in SDN and elsewhere to get a brief idea
Using this we can write codes in specific areas of the code as indicated by SAP.
To view these locations -> click on the " enhance source code " button and then go to EDIT->Enhancement Operations -> show Implicit Enhancements ...SAP will highlight the areas where code can be written.
Right Click on the area required->Enhancement Impelemtation -> Create
It asks for a "Enhancement Implementation" as a table control pop-up -> Creata a new one using the "create Icon" and give a suitable name .Your enhancement code will be save under this.
In case you plan to undo the changes,go to the spot created Right Click ->Enhancement Impelemtation -> Undo
Always use the "Where -used list" to analyse the impact of the changes when the function module code is changed and use this "Implict enhancement" only as the last option to edit source code.Implicit options may not always be available for all source codes and at all locations desired.

Remote function module to wait untill the response came from webmethods

hi all.
here i have got a situation that the remote function module created in SAP-R/3 to wait untill the response came from webmethods :
i have created the remote function module by assigning one structure in tables(tab) and 3 parameters in changing tab just to collect the messages return from webmethods
so this rfc will be called by webmethods and pick the structure data and then it wll return 3 variables back to rfc.
here the rfc need to wait untill the response came from webmethods.
so can any body suggest me on what source code do i need to write in RFC

Hi Naina,
Normally RFC are synchronous, they do have return parameter as export parameter.
If return parameter is missing then , you can create Wrapper RFC.
Wrapper RFC:
It is nothing but you just create BAPI in SE37 transaction with Return parameter as export parameter and make it remote enabled by clicking on Radio button.
Under source code, CALL BAPI which XI has to call.

Raising Exceptions
There are two ABAP statements for raising exceptions. They can only be used in function modules:
RAISE except.
und
MESSAGE.....RAISING except.
The effect of these statements depends on whether the calling program handles the exception or not. The calling program handles an exception If the name of the except exception or OTHERS is specified after the EXCEPTION option of the CALL FUNCTION statement.
If the calling program does not handle the exception
· The RAISEstatement terminates the program and switches to debugging mode.
· The MESSAGE..... RAISING statement displays the specified message. Processing is continued in relation to the message type.
If the calling program handles the exception, both statements return control to the program. No values are transferred. The MESSAGE..... RAISING statement does not display a message. Instead, it fills the system fields sy-msgid, sy-msgty, sy-msgno , and SY-MSGV1 to SY-MSGV4.

The actual parameters carrier and jtab have the same data types as their corresponding interface parameters in the function module. The exception NOT_FOUND is handled in the program. It displays the same message that the function module would have displayed had it handled the error.

just have to decide what exceptions u want and under what conditions.
then declarethese exeptions under the exceptions tab.

now when u call the function module in tme mainprogram.
if some error occurs and u have declared a exception for this then it will set sy-subrc = value u give inthe call of this fm.
in the fm u can program these sy-subrc values and trigger the code for ur exception.
