Functionality to generate UUID (for Serializable interface)

When working with custom components, the java.io.Serializable interface often is a must. Eclipse always complains about the missing UUID-attribute. There are a few plugins around to generate them, but an integrated solution in NitroX would be really cool.

Eclipse 3.1 will offer you the option to generate serials for you if you open the Quick Fix menu for the warning.PERFECT. :D :D Thanks for the hint. So we only have to wait for NitroX fro 3.1
Apart from that I would claim it's hardly a feature in the scope of NitroX.Well. Yes an no.
As lots of the objects that one uses in the context of the session, or as objects that should be sent over the wire (state=client) in JSF, it is in the scope of every plugin or IDE that wants to help the developer develop JSF-application, therefor it is in the scope...
But with Eclipse providing it already (soon...) it is no discussion any more.

  • Generating Proxies for SAP Basis Objects?

    All,
Is it possible to generate proxies for your interfaces under SAP Basis Component?
    1. I checked in SPROXY on my R3 and the SAP Basis Component is not displayed  here. What I also noticed is that none of the SWCV's containing Pre Delivered Integration Content is displayed in SPROXY.
Is it necessary that the options , <b>All Objects are Modifiable and Original Objects</b> be selected for Proxies to be generated on the SAP Shipped SWCV's?
    2. As a work around ( one which did not work ) I created a Depenedency in the SLD for my SWCV on the SAP BASIS Swcv and I am now able to see the BASIS Objects in the IR under my Custom SWCV .
But even then in SPROXY , (basis Objects )message interfaces are not displayed.
Has anyone tried something of this sort? Is there some setting we need to do to enable proxy generation for SAP Delivered Components?
    Regards
    Bhavesh
PS: I am able to see my custom SWCV in SPROXY and trigger proxy calls Successfully.
I can generate a Custom Messge interface using the Message Type of the SAP Basis Component and create the Proxy to this Message interface . But, I just want to know if anyone has had success with the above concepts

    ><i>but they are already generated... do you see that ?</i>
I did notice it. But didnt dig deep enough . Will give this a real close look tom morning .
<i>>>>>Does this imply, that we cannot generae proxies on SAP Basis Components?
    indeed</i>
That answered my Question  Thanks for the info.
I guess I will have to create a message Interface will the Message Type from the BASIS Component and use this Message Interface.
The only issue I am now wondering with this approach would be, what if the Message Type structure changes during some SP upgrade? Due to some new feature being added?
    Any experiences to share michal?
Thanks a bunch for all those inputs.

  • Roll back to standard SAP, after generating a new version for an interface

    Hello all,
Somebody has modified one standard interface, and now a new version has been created with that  user name.  But, there is no difference between the old SAP version and the current active versioin (he/she has changed nothing).  If i go and see the version management it is appearing like this,
X     Active    ..............   with that user name............
below which i have the standard SAP version like this,
    .......................0.00.000. ......................  SAP
But, if i go and see the attributes for that interface,  its showing
    LAST CHANGED BY    ............................ SAP
how this can happen, when the active version is under a user name, but still the attributes is showing LAST CHANGED BY as SAP ????
    one more question,
Now i want to revert my interface back to Standard SAP version, although there are no changes between the old and the current version.  If i go and see the version management, it should show me only one version that too of standard SAP, like this,
    X      Active...........................   SAP.
THe reason is, some body in future on seeing this interface should not think that this standard interface got changed.
Is it possible now?  Please give me suggestions.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
This currently seems like a bug , we have encountered this too.
work around is you have to delete the rtf files from server Siebel\client\temp\XMLP directory and upload them again so that they are not cached any more.
same on dedicated client you may have to delete relavant files form siebel\client\temp\xmlp directory and upload again.

  • ABAP Function Module generator

    Hi,
I wonder if there is a ABAP Function Module generator for inbound and outbound adapter data. Can I generate a function module in XI to trigger a adapter.
    regards,
    Richard

    Hi,
There is no tool to "generate" RFCs.  You will have to use SE37 to create the RFCs as always.
For outbound RFC, you will need only to define the interfaces, e.g. IMPORT, EXPORT, TABLES.  No ABAP code is required.  Then, just populate the parameters and send to XI.
For inbound RFC, you can develop the RFC to do whatever it needs to do in ABAP.
In the IR of XI, you can import the RFC's meta data.

  • Generating EWA for JAVA

    Hello,
I need to generate an EWA report for a JAVA stack.
I have an ABAP + JAVA system for which I've configured SMD.
The SETUP (Diagnostic Setup-->Managed Sytems) has been executed successfully.
In SMSY I've created a JAVA component for the system.
    The ABAP EWA runs fine.
However, no JAVA report in generated in DSWP.
Will the report be generated seperately for the 2 stacks in DSWP?
Also, when I try to manually generate it in the Trubleshooting tab on the SMD webpage,
I just get an XML page.
    Pls. help.
    Thanks,
    Have a nice weekend,
    Saba.

    2.2     Data Retrieval (Java)
Technically, the Java part of the Data Retrieval process is transparent to the user and typically requires no further configuration. However, it does offer a direct interface to access the data retrieved for the EWA, bypassing the ABAP Data Retrieval infrastructure. In particular, it can be accessed by the Service Cockpit of the SMD directly for maintenance and error detection.
    2.2.1     The Service Cockpit
The Service Cockpit can be reached under the following URL: http://<SMD Host>:<SMD Port>/smd/services. Its role is to provide a graphical UI to the Data Provider.
    2.2.3     Configuration
All services, for which the data provider can retrieve data, are configured centrally through a configuration XML. The section u201CConfigurationu201D allows you to display this XML, download it for editing and upload a newer version if required.
    2.2.4     Service Download
The actual retrieval of the data for the selected service (e.g. the EWA) can be triggered manually in section u201CService Downloadu201D. This will trigger the same processes as the external call from the ABAP side through the CSDCCN. The purpose of this functionality is to quickly allow access the data collected for the EWA and other services even without the ABAP data retrieval infrastructure.
Selecting the button u201CStart Serviceu201D will trigger the data retrieval of all relevant data for the selected service and the selected system.

  • Problem generating stubs for Java EJB web service deployed in OAS

I created an EJB web service and I've successfully deployed it in my Oracle App Server. Some of the methods work fine but others produce the ff error:
org.apache.soap.SOAPException - java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No Serializer found to serialize [classname] using encoding style [encoding]It seems that the objects specified as parameters in the web service methods exposed are the only ones that had stubs generated for them. Other objects I use, which are usually wrapped inside a Vector, did not have generated stubs.
    Example:
         public String loginUser(UserDTO userDTO) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException;
public String addItems (Vector vecItems) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException; // where vecItems is a collection of ItemDTO objects     In this scenario, stubs were generated for the UserDTO class, but not for the ItemDTO class. In effect, calling the addItems method resulted to the exception I mentioned above.
I did a workaround wherein I declared a dummy method which accepted all the types of objects I needed as parameters so all the necessary stubs can be generated, but this fix doesn't feel like it's the proper solution to my problem.
If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Creation of Server Proxy for  Message interface with External Defination

    Dear All,
I am getting a problem while generating a server proxy for the inbound interface . The request message used in the inbound interface is a external definition which is uploaded using a XSD file. The XSD file was supplied by a third party which is having very high complex strucuture and used lot of abstract data types in the design. When i tried to generate the proxy in the R/3 system (Transaction SPROXY) for the inbound interface i am getting following error.
Interface uses external and internal message definitions
    Message no. SPRX122 *
    Diagnosis
In a message interface you can use messages from different sources:
Message types and fault message types edited in the Enterprise Services Repository
Messages imported into the Enterprise Services Repository (external definitions, RFC, IDoc)
In the current message interface, message types from different sources have been used. Since messages from these different sources must be handled differently during proxy generation, such a mixture of messages within a message interface is not possible.
    System Response
    The interface cannot be generated.
    Procedure
Change the interface definition accordingly in the Enterprise Services Repository.
Please guide me, how to generate the proxy for the interface with external defination message. I could nt geneate manullay, because it is having very high complexity and its a big structure.
Is there is any way to generate the proxy for interface with external definition
    Regards
    Vijayanand

    Hi,
    i.       Import your message schemas from external definitions, or RFCs or IDocs from SAP systems. These definitions already contain data types.
ii.       Create a message interface and reference the messages of the external definition, or the RFC or IDoc message.

  • Best Practice to generate UUIDs in a Cluster-Server Environment

    Hi all,
I just need some inputs over the best practices to generate UUIDs in typical internet world where there are multiple servers/JVMs involved for load balancing or traffic distribution etc. I know JAVA is shipped with very efficient UUID generator API.
But still that doesn't solve the issue in multiple server environment.
For the discussion sake lets assume I need it to be unique over the setup than a near unique.
How do you guys approach it?
    Thanks you all in advance.

    Thanks jverd,
So adding to the theory of "distinguishing all possible servers" in addition to UUID over each server would be the way to go.If you're unreasonably paranoid, sure.I think its a common problem and there is a big number of folks who might still be bugged about the "relative uniqueness" of UUID in long run. People who don't understand probability and scale, sure.
Again coming back to my original problem in an "internet world", shouldn't the requirement like unique id between different servers be dealt with generating the UUID's at a layer before entering into the multi-server setup. Where would that be? I don't have the answer..Again, that is the POINT of the UUID class--so that you can generate as many IDs as you want and still be confident that nobody anywhere is in the world has ever generated any of those same IDs. However, if your requirements say UUID is not good enough, then you need to define what is, and that means having a lot of foresight as to how this system will evolve and how long it will live, AND having total control over some aspect of your servers, AND having a process that is so good that it's LESS LIKELY for a human to screw up and re-use a "unique" server ID than the probabilities I presented in my previous post.

  • Message type for generating IDOC  for SUBCONTRACTING PURCHASE ORDER

    Hi All,
I have to generate IDOC for PO creation or change .
    I am using IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDERS and IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDCHG.
The messagetype.idoctype  I am using is  ORDERS. ORDERS05  and ORDCHG. ORDERS05.
Now the confusion is regarding whether  this message type will work in case of SUBCONTRACTING PURCHASE ORDER as well ?
As I have gone through some websites and came to know that I will have to use PORDCR1.PORDCR102 specially for subcontracting.
And programs we need to use is BUS2012_ICH_R3 instead of  RSNASTED and Form Routine SEND_PORDCR1 instead of EDI_PROCESSING.

I hope your experience will help me .

There is a generic function to create change pointers for all message typs - 'CHANGE_POINTERS_CREATE_DIRECT'.  This is triggered only if you configure your message type to create change pointers from BD50.
Once you activate it do any change to orders you can see change pointer tables BDCPV filled. Then BD21 will read the changes and generated outbound idocs accordingly.

  • Function returning SQL query for mutiple series in a chart

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to specify a single PL/SQL function returning the queries for multiple series in a 2D Line Flash Chart. I have multiple series in my chart that has different values in the where clause. I can write a PL/SQL function that can return all these queries in one shot. Is there anyway that I can specify this function as returning the queries for all the series in the chart?
As an example, assume that I am using the following three queries for the series in my chart:
select deptno, count(*) from emp where deptno = 10 group by deptno
select deptno, count(*) from emp where deptno = 20 group by deptno
select deptno, count(*) from emp where deptno = 30 group by deptno
I can't write a PL/SQL function that returns a query in the multiple series syntax (SELECT link, label, series_1_value [, series_2_value [, ...]]FROM ...) as I am using an aggregate function and my where clause is different for each series.
    Thanks,
    Rupesh

    Hi Roel,
Thanks for your reply. I am already using an analytical function (RATIO_TO_REPORT(COUNT(*)) OVER () ) in my actual report. My problem is that the query for one series differs from the other only in one where clause. I will be able to dynamically able to generate all the queries for all the series in one pl/sql function. But the chart definition screen does not allow us to define a single function that returns queries for the all the series - possibly seperated by some seperator like S1: select.... S2:select and so on.

  • Referencing functionality in the BPM-2 separate interfaces

Hello - I need to check the functionality in BPM that if one Interface is already exists(say PO) with its own BPM flow and Can another Interface (say GR)reference the previous interface(PO interface)?
To clarify more, these 2 interfaces are purely different interfaces (developments). I need to check if the data from the previous interface have been created successfully or IS IN PROCESS. If the data for previous interface is in process then wait for the task to be done otherwise create another thread in the BPM for the current interface.
If this can be done then How ? Any help is appreciated.
