Functions for mapping Latin-1 character codes to and from WinLatin-1 character codes

I will like to know how could i write own functions for mapping Latin-1 character codes to and from WinLatin-1
character codes.
Can show me some source code or how to mapping it. Because i just begineer.

I see your issue. I tried to reproduce this issue using sqlplus.
Setup NLS_LANG as you mentioned using WE8ISO8859P1 and connect to a UTF8 db.

Making a User Defined Function for Mapping in XI

Hi folks..
I knw how to make User defined Function in XI,
i was wondering about can we have any room for making a function for Initializing Purpose, which intializes few fields in source Message to some Global variables, and later we can use these Global Variables to set the the Target field

Query for MAP Calculation - Price Control ind V and S

Query regarding MAP Calculation Logic
Scenario:
*I have one material xyz
1. It is split valuated material,
2. Two valuation types with diff price control indicators
3. Batch Management is also activated on this material.*
Follwoing is the Material Master Accounting1 View :

but when we are running MM03 w/o Valuation Type Accounting 1 View

2. Whats the difference between these two report output from MM03 Accounting
   view?

hi Animesh,
For Split Valuated Material at header level Price control is always "V" i.e. Moving average price reagrdless of the Price control you have given for different valuation types.
Due to this you are getting these kind of results. Please visit the following link for more information

Java user-defined function for mapping a complex structure

All,
Hope one of you can help me with this. I have a structure with over 15 fields and would like to concatenate all the fields into one target field and while I do this, I need to ensure that each field is padded with blanks as defined the data type. Can one of tell me if this is possible with a java user-defined function and if so, what type of logic is needed.
Input_MT
Field_1 string len=10 "need"
Field_2 string len=6 "java"
Field_3 string len=7 "help"
Field_4 string len=8 "asap"
etc,
Output_MT
DataOut string "need java help asap "
(for some reason the exact spaces in between the words disappear in my Preview message)
I have several fields in the input mt and therefore I find graphical mapping using concatenate and my own user defined function padWithSpace too messy.

Hi,
If your final req is to write all these fields next each other in a file, you can configure this in receiver file adapter by specifying the fixed length for each field.
If you want the padded string as your MM o/p, you can create a simple user defined funtion with 15 fields as input and 15 constants for their lengths, and find out the length of the each string and pad it with required no of spaces.

Everytime I open Firefox it functions for a matter of seconds before freezing and becoming completely unresponsive, what can be done about this?

After freezing up today(which it has done from time to time before), Firefox has now become completely unresponsive. I have repeatedly attempted to restart it but the program will freeze up almost immeadiately every time, each time requiring a close via the task manager.
Nothing has changed since last night except for this unresponsivness. I just tried uninstalling my older version and downloading the current version but the problem has persisted. What else can I try?

I have the same problem on two Windows 7 x64 installations.

Firefox does not crash, it just becomes unresponsive, but the moment it becomes responsive again (couple seconds to 15 seconds or more,) it will just become unresponsive again. There is next to no CPU usage and there is nothing running in the background that could possible slow it down. I also notice that FF momentarily will stop responding for around 1/2 to 1 second. Then continue to be fine. I'm finding that Chrome is acting up as well but IE is working fine. I also found that Google.com seems to exacerbate the problem.

I found DB_UPDATE_TABLE for update operations, but i need a similar function for select??

I don't see how this question is at all related to Digital I/O but it sounds like you just need a shift register with the concantanate string function.

SQL Select and From Functions

Can sql aggregate functions be added to an interface select clause and from clause.
I want to have a datasource where one of the columns is an aggregate such as a count, which would need the ability to indicate a from clause function group by, or having by. In the Designer Diagram tab for the interface, it seems you can only apply sql functions to where clause joins or filters.
I want to have a query such as follows as my datasource
select columnA, count(*) as thecount
from table x
group by columnA
order by thecount asc
and ultimately
select columnA, thecount
from (select columnA, count(*) as thecount
from table x
group by columnA
order by thecount asc)
where rownum <1001
Can this be done in the ODI Designer, without creating a physical custom view on the database?

Aggregate functions are added by ODI automatically. In this case you would want mappings like this:
TARGET_COL_1: columnA
TARGET_COL_2: count(*)
ODI will generate something like this:
select
 columnA,
 count(*)
from MY_TABLE MY_TABLE
where
 (1=1)
Group By MY_TABLE.columnA
The subselect, however, isn't handled out of the box. In general ODI isn't quite as friendly with ordering clauses since order by is not relational. (Sets aren't ordered.) To get only the first 1000 columnA values, you'll probably need to create a view or break it into 2 separate interfaces.

FAX Error Codes 349 and 351

I try to fax my daughter in Florida which is area code 941 and I live in area code 580 (Okla) and I constantly get
Error Codes 349 and 351. I called her numerous times and she is receiving faxes frin all over the country with no problem. Why can't HP find this problem and help me resolve it. I was on the phone over 4 ours with a tech rep and she was unable to resolve it and said she would refer it to her case manager who would not be able to fix it, but would call me sometime on Monday. This is a ridiculous situation. I can send faxes locally with no problem. I have a fiber optics telephone connection. Does anyone have a possible solution. I am really fed up with HP and having to try to explain situations to someone in a foreign country where everything I say has to be repeated back to me takiing up more time.

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. I am sure after spending 4 hours on the phone with HP tech support the last thing you want to do it more troubleshooting but I have some information specific to those error codes if your interested. In the unlikely event that maybe something was missed here is the definition and solution for error code 349 and 351.
Error Code: 344, 345, 346, 347, 348, 349 ECM, 350 ECM, 351 ECM, 352 ECM, 353 ECM, 354, 355
Definitions
The remote machine failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine because the connection was interrupted. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power outages and other power-related problems.
The call-waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line.
The remote user pressed the Stop key while the reception was in progress.
Under rare conditions, incompatibility between the two machines might cause the remote machine to abandon the call.
Solutions
Retryt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
Disable ECM. Errors might still occur, and might result in a degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to send the entire document will be improved.
Try sending at a lower transmission speed

Can we restict t-code CJ01 and CJ02 based on company code. I couldn't find any authorization for CJ01 and CJ02 to restrict based on Company code.

If the object in SU24 is NC and then moved to CM for a transaction then it will usually activate an auth check which has already been coded into the program. This will activate that check for that transaction regardless of whether the object is added into the manually or otherwise. Mapping issues while using MapwithDefault Node function for Idoc

We are facing issues while trying to generate nodes at reciver side even though it does not exist at sender side.
we are using the matmas05 and we want the nodes E1marcm and e1mardm to generated at target structure.
the structure is like this

 .....other fields
 E1mardm (can be many segments)

 ..other fields
 E1mpgdm

the mapping has been done like:

constant -segment
werks-mapwithdefault-werks
other fields(one to one mapping)
e1mardm-mapwith default-e1mardm
lgort-mapwithdefault(value 1000)-lgort
other fields -one to one mapping
now the problem we are facing is when e1mardm is not existing in source structure the values from the other node of e1mardm(which exists) are getting overwritten into it.
we want only the lgort to be 1000 and the segment should populate at target side.
like

lgort value 1000
Could you please assist in solving this issue and give your valuable suggestions as how could we handle it.

U will achieve this using UDF function. Map the below Like.
