Future Shop Desjardins card

Having problems buying online with my Future Shop credit card. When I submit my order it keeps giving me an error message (0095 message). I called Desjardins and they informed me that my card is good to use and I have sufficient funds. So why can't I use my Future Shop cc here at BestBuy.ca?

I am having the exact same issue. Called Desjardins and they couldn't offer anything.

There's been a few of these today. I think there must be a problem with the redemption server and you probably just need to wait a while and try again.

  • Future shop PSP VS Apple Care?

Hi. I recently bought a macbook from future shop around 3 weeks ago. I bought the Future Shop product service plan with it. I was reading around and saw that Applecare > Retailer warranties. I read the plan and it says i can return it within 30 days of purchasing no questions asked. Should i return it and buy the applecare from the apple store? I feel a bit bad because my future shop guy gave me a big $150 discount but all ive read about are nightmares. Thank you!

LOL maybe. It can't possibly be the fact that I always buy from him or anything....

  • Full technical specs on Future Shop exclusive web only special

    Hi all,
I'm looking at picking up the MBP 13" 2.26GHz model Z0GK2LL/A from Future Shop. It's got the same specs as most 2.26GHz models, except the processor L2 cache is reported at 6MB. I can't find any information on this custom model number that doesn't link to Future Shop. However, I have seen a 6MB L2 cache on the MB Air processors.
My newbie questions are three fold:
    1) Can anyone confirm the amount of L2 cache on this unit based on the model number.
    2) Is there a public online tech specs database that records all part numbers that, for some reason, search engines don't index?
    3) Is there an area of System Preferences that displays the amount of L2 cache, so I can confirm this value when I see the laptop?
    Thanks for your help.
    -Tony

Hi Tony, welcome to Apple Discussions!
I don't trust Future Shop one bit, based on my experiences with them... The chance that they just made a typographical error on their site is at least 10000x greater than the chance of Apple providing them with a "special" model with 6MB L2 instead of 3MB. In fact, as far as I know, through the entire history of Apple, they have never (ever) produced a "special" model for any retail outlet. I'm not even sure if Intel makes a 2.26Ghz chip with 6MB L2 (they probably don't, but I don't have the time to research it at the moment).
Were I you, I would trust Apple's specs completely in the process of making a purchasing decision. If the machine does actually come with 6MB L2, do let us know as it would definitely be a first! I'd be extremely shocked actually.

  • The Future for Creative Cards On Vi

I am starting this post becuase i am unsure what creative x-fi users are supposed to expect from their cards in vista. Other than the fact we cant even get the cards to operate properly in vista supposing that they eventually operate, Its my understanding that all hardware acceleration under vista is gone and that all rendering and processing now is going to be done thru software. That being the case whats the difference of any of us running our onboard cards in comparison to our x-fi cards
I am in no meanns fully knowledgebale about the new sound sub syustem in vista hence why i am asking as an end user what are we expecting here Is EAX even going to play a role in our systems anymore Is openAL, creative Alchemy project a short term solution to a problem
Nevertheless the cards should operate minimally without BSOD and hissing but i am just trying to realize the end reult here
    Thanks
    pete

I suggest to take a look at this. It should explain most of the changes in Vista regarding OpenAL and EAX
    http://www.openal.org/openal_vista.html
For sure, there were some big changes in the audio system of vista, but its not bad at all. There are many games out there that use OpenAL already, more will in the future! Developers that are coding games now, will take care of it. Just a few older games that dont use OpenAL will sound not so nice without EAX and this stuff. We can't have it all
Normally this was made to get a more stable system and less bluescreens, but we see that creative still understands how to make BSOD
I am XFI user since the Elite Pro card came on the market. I was a very happy man and as far as I know I did not had any problems in Win XP. Then Vista came out, for sure at the beginning it was not the best. Bad driver support for everything, some vista errors and bugs. But I was pretty sure that this should get solved very fast and that companies like Nvidia, ATI, Creative and all the others that I have hardware from ... will work on it and do their best to release good drivers very quick.
3 Months later ... Nvidia and Creative have not done a good job yet. Just -2 buggy driver releases, that's it. ATI was already working very quick and released several good drivers for ATI cards. ATI Users were happy and had much better performance then Nvidia cards these days. People were complaining at nvidia forums, some nvidia gurus bought ATI cards and the result was that Nvidia officially said sorry and started to work on drivers with a high priority. Took them one more month to get finally started but since then we get nice driver updates every few weeks. All other hardware components that I use had stable and good drivers already, so just more thing left ...
Creative and my 400Euro Elite Pro XFI Card ... I had crackling all the time when enabling SLI for my videocards. My games were unplayable with SLI due to very bad sound with a lot of crackling and static sounds. So I thought to wait some more months to see what they do ...
Now yearly one year is over and if I look back ... nothing has really changed since their first driver for me. Still a lot of trouble and problems. Creative always said my problems are related to my Nforce 4 mainboard chipset ... so I though might be true. Now 2 days ago I got my Nforce 590 Mainboard ... now I have still trouble. Different problems like in Nforce 4 but still trouble. Like bluescreens with dll files of my XFI Drivers and other crazy sound effects.
I have a perfect working system with a lot of power for my games! Tons of hardware which all works fine in Vista! In some parts my vista has better performance then in XP already. My one and only problem is my XFI Card!!!. Its driving me crazy!!!
I don't have much hope anymore that creative will really release good drivers for XFI and Vista one day. We have waited a so long time. If they continue developing with the current speed, it will take 0 more years until we have nice and stable drivers. See as an example the last driver release. Took them several months to get that released ... then all of us just have MORE problems and more bluescreens. Instead fixing that crap within a few days or weeks ... they dont do anything. Now we can wait a few more months again for the next driver ... and if it gets out we will have trouble again ... that will never work on this way. Sad but true ...
I am Creative Soundcard user since 0 years or something like this. I always liked their hard- and software. But if they will not change this software part here and fix their **bleep** stuff, I will simply use another card soon.
I can't do more then this except coming here and complaining about the XFI Drivers in the hope that someone of creative understands how frustrated I am with their current driver/soundcard and that I can not play my favorite games without any problems since several months. If they will not solve it this year, I will never get a creative product anymore, tell all my friends the same and tell my hardware dealers that they better should not sell this product anymore for vista users. This is all what I can do. I am just a single person, creative will not care, but it's still my right to complain and decide if I will continue using their products.
If I would not have spend 400Euros for this card (really a lot for me!!!) I would have already removed that card and switched to onboard. Less problems ...
And what's really driving me crazy is that DELL and Auztechs XFI Cards get WHQL'd and nice drivers! AHHH common creative. Why is a DELL user better and more important then ME Well ... I guess its money HUH DELL pays more then me I guess, so DELL and Auztech get their drivers coded from YOU first and then a few years later me gets one

  • Can I receive the Back to School $100 itunes giftcard if I buy a Mac from BestBuy/Future Shop?

When you buy a new qualifying Mac with Apple education pricing from June 16, 2011, through September 20, 2011, you’ll get a free $100 Back to School Card to use on the Mac App Store, the App Store, the iTunes Store, and the iBookstore.
Do you have to purchase the mac from an Apple store? Will this deal still apply if you purchase it from a seller such as Best Buy, Futureshop, etc...
I'm asking this because Best Buy offers MS Word for Home & Student for free with a purchase of a mac as well until September 30, 2011
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance:)

The $100 iTunes gift card is a promo being run specifically by Apple, so no a third-party vendor will not have the same promo. Bust Buy does like to match deals, so as tjk suggests, you should contact them and see if they can offer anything to match Apple's promo.

  • TS1424 Anyone else running into brick walls when trying to register or get a rebate on an iTunes gift card?

All I get is a runaround when trying to activate a $25 iTunes card. Many of the numbers were missing (missing, leaving blank spaces when printed, not scratched out). The store where I bought the card (Future Shop Vancouver) wouldn't do anything about it and told me I had to call Apple directly. So I jumped through the hoops of talking to thge robot on Apple's toll-free 1-800-MY-APPLE only to have the robot tell me only emails are acceptable. (I'm not sure why discussing my problem with an iTunes card is even an option in the telephone process). Getting increasingly exasperated, I went online and laid out my problem. It took hours to get a response... I was told I had to scan both sides of the card and store receipt and email it to them. I did that right away (7:45 am PST). At the end of the day when I had heard nothing further I went online and checked the status of my problem. THE CASE WAS CLOSED!
When I fired back an angry response, I was told by email:
thank you for providing the scanned images. Your inquiry is very important to me, so I have requested assistance with the issue you reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.
SERIOUSLY? An investigation? This is a $25 iTunes card. Apple has the card codes and knows everything. All I want is to be able to somehow add $25 to my iTunes account.
What's worse, the iTunes Store Customer Support representative who is dealing with my problem states he works "Sunday-Wednesday and Saturday 9:30 PM-6:30 AM CST". This is Thursday. I guess the soonest I will know anything is MAYBE Saturday. If I'm lucky.
    This is customer service?

  • My USB ports and SD card slot aren't working!

My USB ports and SD card slot haven't been working on my MacBook Pro for a couple of months now, and I have taken it into Future shop to get it fixed under my warranty. Unfortunately my warranty was expired by a month (Oops), and the associate helping me said that there was no power getting to the ports because it had something to do with the circuit board, and that it would cost $900.00 to get it repaired. I can still charge my MacBook, and the CD hardrive works completely fine.
My goal is get my MacBook repaired for little or no cost. I was wondering if anyone knows a solution to this, or how much it would cost me to get it repaired at the Apple store.

What version of OS X is the Macbook Pro running?
In OS 10.8, you can do this:
With the iPod connected, go to Apple Menu / About This Mac / More Info / System Report.
click on USB under Hardware (in the left column).
Does the iPod appear anywhere on the right hand side (USB Device Tree)?

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH APPLE. IM GETTING SICK!! NO SIM CARD??!!

    Hello,
I recently had my bro in law order me an ipad online.
When we got the receipt 1 day later , everything was wrong on it.
They had sent us a receipt for an ipad 2 wifi ( not 3g ) .
I called them and they confirmed that it was a "glitch" in the system & that we had gotten the 3g and re sent us the correct receipt. With all the correct information along with the "ROGERS IPAD SIM CARD - ONLINE-CAF" written , thus confirming that I was supposed to get a Rogers sim card with my order .
When it arrived today we got the 3g , but low and behold , no sim card !!! I had to drive to the nearest future shop and pay 10$ for the wrong sim card. I got home , tried to activate it and Rogers would not let me unless I went on a MONTH TO MONTH basis with them aside from being on a pre - paid - the problem was that sim card - as future shop , best buy , etc have been assigned certain sim cards for 3g plans on a pre paid basis. I was given the sim card for month to month. So there goes 10$ for a sim card I did not even need. That is not my issue , my issue is how apple is not proffessional. I honestly think we were sent the wrong ipad the first time but they caught it in time before it was sent out to me, and forgot to add the sim card.
I really do not want to go to Apple ( downtown ) and be asked to pay 10$ for something I initially was supposed to receive for free. Should I take my receipt with me and my ipad just to confirm to them that I got the Ipad on the 12th , just to be on the safe side as they dont generally hand out sim cards about serious investigations.
Or should I call customer service for Apple online and give them crap, make them send me free stuff to make it up to me - because its seriously caused a headache and i cannot stand bad customer service reps or someone that messed up my order and then blames it on a damb fake glitch!
    Regards,
    H.

    sorry the quote
    " about serious investigations "
i do not know what I was trying to say lol - ignore it.
Its supposed to be " apple store doesnt generally hand out sim cards ".
I had a friend that went there and got a free sim card no questions asked , and another friend went and they told her she had to buy a product. It depends on what staff is on.  But i'v got proof i never received a sim card because on my receipt it says ROGERS SIM CARD. But on the delivery box , where it says " whats in the box" - it only mentions an IPAD , no SIM CARD . A sim card is considered a product since it has value, and I never received it. I do not think I should be paying another 10$ for a sim card I was supposed to get for free. Unfair and Unprofessional on Apple's part.

  • Graphic card update .. Why is it so complicated

    Hello,
Sad to say but I am at this point where I think that I probably made a mistake to go for Mac.
(Especially after that Final Cut X episode).
Well , here is my question:
I have a 2009 MacPro Nehalem process (let me know if you need the serial number) and I would like (actually it is more a need) to upgrade.
I work with HD stuff and 2 GT 120 are just not powerfull enough to do what I want.
My question is: is it really the only thing you offer?
    http://store.apple.com/ca/product/MC742ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MTg2OTU0NzM
Is there another alternative? Is there another model compatible with Mac pro 2009 ?
    Please save my life
    Thanks a lot.
( I was also curious to know why you charge $269 when Futur Shop charges $199 for the same thing)

Speaking for "The Netkas Group" I can say that GTX580 can be made to work but Hatter is right in that power issue is not easily gotten around.
Best to add an external Power Supply to use GTX480 or GTX580.
There is no EFI for 5xx Nvidia cards so they are ATY_Init only. GTX570 can be easily powered with existing outputs but needs ATY_Init to work. (can be used without helper in 10.7.2 Beta)
There are EFI ROMs for GTX470 and GTX480.
They work perfectly but the need for external juice on 480 is a real downer.
Basically, unless you use software that can get use from CUDA, the ATI cards are better deal. The 6870 can run 4 separate displays at once, the vaunted 480/580 cards just 2. The official Apple 5770 is a sweet spot in terms of value and ease of use.
The Nvidia Fermi cards are for Power users with specific needs.
For editing Gramma's 85th b-day video and watching all the latest You-Tube / Facebook / Twitter dreck, the 5770 is more than sufficient.
EDIT: I am adding the following info that I posted in another thread.
It sums up what cards are OFFICIALLY supported in which Macs. Do what you will with it.
I will make it simple, here is a list of ALL Mac Pro video cards as released by Apple or their partners. These were cards that were either available on the machines, or through retail. Note that there are flashed versions of these cards which can cross borders, but these are the OFFICIAL released cards.
    Work in ALL Mac Pros:
    ATI X1300
    ATI X1900XT
    ATI 2600 XT
    ATI 3870
    ATI 4870
    ATI 5770
    ATI 5870
Work in 1,1 and 2,1 Mac Pro ONLY (EFI32)
    Nvidia 7300GT
    NVidia 8800GT  (EFI32 version)
    Quadro 4500
Work in 3,1 or later Mac Pro (64 bit EFI)
    Nvidia 8800GT (EFI64 version)
    Nvidia GT120 (aka 9500GT)
    Nvidia GTX285
    Nvidia Quadro 5600
    Nvidia Quadro 4000
You will note that ALL of the ATI cards work on ALL of the Mac Pros (due to EBC EFI)
You will note that Nvidia cards are either/or. The ONLY Nvidia card that is available on BOTH types used a completely different EFI on each version. Thus, an 8800GT that works GREAT in my 1,1 Quad 3.0 will boot to a black screen in my 4,1 Octo 2.26.
    Such a simple rule...
ALL ATI CARDS WORK IN ALL MAC PROS
ALL NVIDIA CARDS WORK IN ONE OR THE OTHER.
To add to the confusion, there is no single way that these Macs are referenced. Apple calls the 3,1 Macs the "Early 2008" Mac Pros. So someone who remembers that they bought theirs in February of 2008 thinks theirs is 3,1 and therefore EFI64. What they don't remember is that they got a KILLER deal because OWC was clearing their stock of 2007s and they got a 2,1. They order an 8800GT for a "Early 2008" and get a BLACK SCREEN.
When buying an Nvidia card, whether from an online retailer or EBay auction or garage sale, it is vitally important to know which Mac Pro you have and which Mac Pro the card is designed to work in.

  • US Music Store but Canadian prepaid card

Hello. I just bough a prepaid card from Future shop here in Canada and tried to enter the 16 digit code on the back. It says that it won't work cause I have a US Music Store but Canadian prepaid card. I don't know how this is since I bought my Nano in Canada and even went to I-Tunes.ca and downloaded I-Tunes 6.0 again. What can I do to get this card to work?
    Thanks

At the bottom centre of the iTMS Home page you will find a Choose Country field that will allow you to enter the Canadian store.
That should be the answer to your problem. If not, post back.

  • How can I get a greeting card program compatible with my MacOS X(10.6.3 ) ?

I have been using PrintExplosion Deluxe for several years now, and used to make beautiful greeting cards. Now, when I try to use it, it crashes, almost immediately and all is lost. I have not reported it before, however, I just try again. I would like to be able to use it again, or is another mac. greeting card maker that would satisfy my needs. I have purchased Print Master from Broderbund but it is too complicated to make the kind of cards I used to use with PrintExplosion Deluxe. How can I get PrintExplosion Deluxe back to where it is working or is there a more compatible version given my model, MacOS status. Thank you.

Contact the developer of the program for help with it. As for alternatives you might try looking at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. For example there's:
    The Print Shop
    Easy Card
which should work with Snow Leopard.

  • PM shop paper smartform

    Hi guys,
Does anyone know of standard SAP smartform for Shop paper printing (Maintenance Work Order) from transaction IW32. A standard SAPscript PM_COMMON exists but I would like to know if there is a standard SAP smartform equivalent to that.
    Thanks,
    Pruthvi

    Hi Pruthvi,
There is no Smartform avilable for shop floor cards. But you can create a Zprogram(which will trigger a smartform) and assign that to your shop cards 9008, 9009 and so on..

  • Need a Esata or USB 3.0 PCI-E card that supports Server 2012. ANY card.

I can't find any card that supports Server 2012 yet, but I really need to transfer and move 2-3TB of data on a weekly basis.  USB 2.0 + external drive is too slow.  Any other solutions I'm over looking?
I'd like to get a Esata 6ghz and a few Esata Externals.  USB 3.0 is an option if I can't find Esata, although It's slower than I'd like.
    I'm open to any ideas.

I ended up getting two of these:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815201051
Below is the review I wrote on newegg.com about the product.
Pros: Contacted Koutech (and 5 other companies) asking what eSATA and USB 3.0 cards they had that would work in Windows Server 2012. A support tech responded that same day. Every other company still hasn't responded 2 months later. The rep said
he hasn't tested any of their cards in Server 2012, but he would start testing and give me a product list in 2 days.
He did exactly that. In less than 2 days I had a list of 18 different PCI-E cards that worked in Server 2012.
I ordered two of these cards (PEU437) for my Dell Servers (T620, & T710).
I have installed the card in the T620 Server, and the card did require the 15 pin SATA power cable in order to work properly (Instructions make it sound optional). My server didn't have any extra 15 pin SATA power cables, I had to buy a 15 pin SATA extension
cable and daisy chain off the SATA CD-ROM drive, but it works just fine.
I'm transferring at speeds over 170mb/s (which is the fastest I've seen on usb 3.0 thus far) My M18X, and MacBook Pro usb 3.0 seem to cap around 100mb/s. I'm going to attribute the extra speed to the ridiculous raid set up, and H710 controller card as I've
done file replication well over 1gb/s.
All in all, the product is working exactly as described, and tech support was amazing from Koutech.
I will definitely purchase future PCI-E cards from them.
And of course NewEgg pricing and delivery speed was top notch.
Cons: Directions were slightly misleading. I interpreted them as saying the 15 pin SATA power connection were "optional" for USB drives that didn't have their own power source.
Windows Server 2012 did see the PCI-E card with out the 15 pin SATA power connection hooked up, but it wouldn't acknowledge any USB External HDD, even if it had it's own power source.
In most cases this isn't an issue, desktop workstations usually have an abundance of 15 pin SATA power sources... however my Servers didn't have any. I had to daisy chain off of my SATA DVD-ROM drive. The Cable wasn't long enough, so a 12" extension cables
was needed, which I got off newegg for under 9 dollars each.
Minor issue, and acceptable. Directions should be more clear, but that's a technology limitation not a design flaw.
Other Thoughts: I did a Bare Metal Server Backup of slightly over 1TB of data in 1 hour and 42 minutes. A vast improvement over USB 2.0.

  • Apple customers limited to mac freindly graphic cards!

    Hi all!
As a 3D artist, it bothers me more than ever, that the selection of graphic cards available to is so limited. We can choose between:
    NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
ATI Radeon X1900 XT (the one i got)
    NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500
Any chance we will be able to choose freely in the future, which graphic cards we will use in our Mac?
And does anyone know if apple is considering expanding or "updating" the line of available graphic cards to the Mac Pro?
I would like to be able to buy a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra card for my Mac Pro.

Speculation on hardware isn't allowed on the forum, but it doesn't matter because Apple isn't saying and nobody has a clue. I do feel sorry for those who have not had a long history with Apple and thought because the graphics cards were PCIe that they'd have half a dozen to choose from "really soon now". I knew better and make the assumption that these three cards will be it. Permanently. It's even odds that a new wrench in the updated MacPro may make the new generation of cards installed incompatable with the existing machines. I hope that's not the case. As I've said many times in many ways, it's a sad state of affairs.
