FY Variants - week 53 in 2008

Dear experts,
In my company we are using DP forecasting weeks, starting on Saturday going through to Friday.
For 2008, I was able to set up my FY variant to deal with week 53 like this:
                   Month   Day          Week#      Year shift
     --> 2008: 12     31     53     0
     --> 2009: 01          02            53            -1
     --> 2009: 01          09            01             0
This gives me week 52/2008 - 20 dec til 26 dec
                          week 53/2008 - 27 dec til 02 jan
                          week 01/2009 - 03 jan  til 09 jan
When continuing building 2009 and 2010... I'm geting stuck on week 52 of 2009
                   Month   Day          Week#      Year shift
     --> 2009: 12     31     52     0
     --> 2010: 01          01            52            -1
     --> 2010: 01          08            01             0
This should give me week 52/2009 - 26 dec til 01 jan
                                  week 01/2010 - 02 jan  til 08 jan
However, when trying to save FY variant for 2010, I get this error message:
Gaps in Fiscal Year Variant xx.
The period specification has gaps. The periods must be sequentially numbered without any gaps.
Does anyone have any ideas why?
FYI: here's my full 2010 definition:

  • T61P: Do I have the Nvidia Bug with 0825a2 production date 25th week 2008?

    Hi.
I have a T61p with the following production date of NVIDIA chip: 0825a2
That means 25th week of 2008.
Do I have the Nvidia bug?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The short answer is probably No.
It's believed that there were many factories and/or production lines making the chips with the "improved" design produced concurrent with the old one for a period of time, however if your laptop was produced in 08/08 and your gpu in 0825, you're good. If your laptops production date is prior to 08/08 then you will have no way of knowing for sure.

  • BEx: Compare Week current year vs. prev. year

    Hello,
In BI7.0 I have to create a report with following design:
    Budget 2009:
    Week 01.2009 : 50
    Week 02.2009: 60
    Week 03.2009: 70
    Budget 2008:
    Week 01.2008: 30
    Week 02.2008: 35
    Week 03.2008: 40
The report shout display on rows level: 01  /   02   /   03  and so on (WITHOUT year).
The target is to compare on weeks level the budget for the different years.
    Any idea?

    Hi,
U can keep calweek in rows, then year and the budget keyfigure in columns.Place the year(probably 0calyear) above the keyfigure structure in column.
As for displaying week with year create a text variable on the calweek(which is in rows) displaywhich shall be a customer exit and return the week part alone(from customer exit).
    Hope it helps.

  • Profit Planning Weekly in CO-PA

Is it possible profit planning weekly in CO-PA?
I activated weekly postings in Operating Concern. However planning layout has no weekly characteristic.
    Thanks

    Hi,
In CO-PA planning you can work only with weeks or periods, but not with both at the same time. When you plan in weeks, the data are stored with the week information (ALTPERIO) as well as with the period information (PERIO). In some cases (when the week belongs to the two periods) the assigment PERIO x ALTPERIO is not unique (e.g. week 001.2008 belongs to Dec and Jan).
The CO-PA planning posts records either according to months or weeks. But it doesn´t allow for planning in weeks to distinguish or to consider month period. It means that for week planning the info in field PERIO is not taken in account and only according ALTPERIO amounts are distributed .
Normally when you create new layout, a popup should be displayed, where you can select what time dimension will you use in layout: periods or weeks. Once you select 'periods' in the popup, the characteristic ALTPERIO (week/year) is not available in layout anymore.
Please try to create new layout again:
    1. Start KE14
    2. Fill in the layout name and press 'Create' icon
    3. The periodicity popup occurs: select 'Week planning'
Then the char. ALTPERIO should be available.

  • Re: Fiscal Year Variants

    Hello All,
I'm trying to use two different fiscal year variants; one for Weekly and One for Monthly.  I'm using one storage bucket profile for the Weekly using the fiscal year variant "ZW"  and I'd like to use the montly fiscal year variant "ZM"
<b>My Question: Is there a possibility to use single Planning Area? Do we have to use different Planning Areas?</b>
Using different Planning Areas increases the overhead of maintaining data in two different planning areas and as well impact the time based dis-aggregation.
Any useful hints or suggestions are highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Surender

    Dear Surender,
Could you elaborate the exact need for 2 different fiscal variants (week and month). Normally you could use one at the monthly level, and create a time bucket profile to view the data in weeks

  • Monday's Date  of the given week  and year

    Hi gurus,
I have the data for week ( eg.52 ) and year ( eg. 08 ) and I need to get the date of the Monday of that week (21-DEC-2008...i.e 52th week of 2008 Year.)
Pls let me knw the sql statement solution for this ..
    THanks,
    shashi..

    Hi, Shashi,
There's a bug in what I posted before.
    Do this instead:
    TRUNC ( TO_DATE ( '01-Jul-' || :year_txt
                    , 'DD-Mon-YYYY'
          , 'IY'
          ) + (7 * (:week_val - 1))The only change is in TO_DATE.
    Here's the problem.
TO_DATE won't work with ISO years; it only takes calendar years.
When you don't specify a day and month in TO_DATE (like I originally did) it defaults to the first day of the current month. So TO_DATE ('2011', 'YYYY') returns October 1, 2011 when the current month is October, and it returns January 1, 2011 when the current month is January.
January 1, 2011, however, is in ISO year 2010. (ISO 2011 begins on the Monday closest to January 1, which is January 3, 2011). My original solution, therefore, would return dates from ISO year 2010 when anyone asked for year 2011 and they happend to be running the program during January.
Specifying a full date makes the expression behave the same regardless of when it is run.

  • Calculating rolling periods on weekly base

    Hi All,
can anybody help me with the following problem:
I want to display weekly variance to previous year. But calculation should be done on cumulated values and not on single values.
For example, at the moment it is week 4/2008.
    Query should display
    Week 1: 2008 = 500€;  2007 = 250€;  Deviation = 50%
    Week 2: 2008 = 1000€ (500€ for week 1 + 500€ for week 2); 2007= 250€ (250€ for week 1 + 0€ for week 2); Deviation= 75%
    Week 3: 2008 = 2000€ (500 week 1 + 500 week 2 + 1000 week 3); 2007=500€(250€ week 1+ 0€ week 2 + 250 week 3); Deviation = 75%
When I create two key figures for absolute values and hide them and choose the cumulated button in key figure definition (properties of key figure), then the absolute values are displayed correctly. But variance between these two key figures is not calculated correctly, because the system internally doesn't calculate with cumulated values but with single values. That means in week 2, variance is not calculated between 1000€ and 500€ (deviation = 50%)but with 500€ and 0€ (deviation = 100%).
Has anybody any solution for this problem on weekly base?
    Thank you very much
    Chris

Appears I was over-thinking this! I just did =Sum([Total Sales All] ForAll ([Period])) and that worked!

  • Why can I open a saved htm page from 2008 to 2012 but not 2013?

I have saved an htm and or html page for 4 days a week since 2008 to 2012. those pages have had no issues opening as the saved page. but ever since approximately 2013 those saved pages will not open as saved. I have asked at the site that the page is coming from if it had changed anything, they said no. my system is the same as it has been for many years(10), windows XP service pack 3. as for other saved files there are no issues, I would be happy to send as an attachment a page from 2008 and any of the saved pages from 2013.

  • Deriving first day of week ww in year yyyy

I need to be able to display the first day of a particular week in addition to the 'week-of-year' and year; for example:
    select to_char("ServiceDate",'yyyy-ww') as "Year/Week", sum("Points") as "Points"
    from my_table
    group by to_char("ServiceDate",'yyyy-ww')
order by to_char("ServiceDate",'yyyy-ww')will give me the following:

    2008-35            1

    2008-43            2
    2009-01            1
...and so forth. What I would like to add to the dataset is the actual day that is the first day of the week for that Week/Year. For example, the first row would look like this:
Year/Week     1st day of week     Points
2008-33          08-AUG-2008*         1*Or whatever the first day of week 33 of year 2008 is (assuming 'first day of week' is a Sunday, for my purposes).
My brain is on 'dim' right now; any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Workbook Distribution

    Hello Forum
We are facing a problem while distributing Workbooks through precalculation server.
In the settings maintaineance screen of the workbook (of Information broadcasting) we made the following selections:
    Comp code : X , Y , Z
    Cal Week : 20.2008 - 40.2008
Cal week is in the columns part of the workbook and thus when the report is executed the output is as :
    Comp code   20.2008         21.2008      22.2008
    X                    100              200               300
    Y                    400             500               600
    Z                    700              800               900
but when the workbook is being distributed the output only shows the values of one week ie. the initial week of 20.2008.
Am I missing any settings or plz suggest what mistake am I doing.

  • Wbadmin start backup -templateId:{...

    Hi,
when I schedule a full backup on windows 2008 I find in the task scheduler following Action:
    ... wbadmin.exe start backup -templateId:{...GUID...} -quiet
I wonder what the option -templateId means. I tried on another machine and got a different GUID.
I wolud like to start the backup with a batch command and wanted to know if I have to use the -templateId option or not.
    Thanks Franco

What you are really asking is whether you can create a more flexible script to do what the "templateid" setting in wbadmin is doing.
The answer is yes, it took me a while to figure this out, so I'll share it here:
    -  First, create a backup through the UI and perform the backup.
    -  Second, inspect the backup to see what was backed up.  To do this, first list your backups:
    wbadmin get versions
Find the backup of interest, and list its contents by supplying the timestamp from the above command output; for example:
    wbadmin get items -version:06/22/2014-08:00
This will list all of the items backed up, mount points, etc.
-- Finally, consult with the wbadmin reference, and duplicate your tempated backup's functionality.  Here is the reference page for wbadmin:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc742083.aspx
Here is the backup command I came up with, given the above procedure.  Note that for unmounted system volumes, you provide the volume GUID instead of the driver letter; for VMs you specify host VM name:
Wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:\\ServerName\ShareName -include:\\?\Volume{123abc4d-5f67-88a1-99b2-102c3d4e5678}\,c:,d: -allCritical -systemState -hyperv:vmName -quiet
Happy scripting!  I needed to do this because I wanted the destination server for backups to vary weekly.

I am happy to read the issue has been reported to LabVIEW R&D (CAR 201244) for further investigation.
The VI was a professional exercise to help me explore LabVIEW as a programming language.  I was able to port a common example from a text based language to LabVIEW successfully.  I am very pleased with the results there.
I remembered the talk about parallelism at NI Week in 2008.  Programming parallel operations in most languages is complex.  I know LabVIEW does it automatically, but I wanted to try dividing the recursive operations through LabVIEW code.  I didn't think the recursive example would give it any trouble.
I do not currently have a project or future product the algorithm applies to.  I suspect others might have a need for it, and I would venture the algorithm could be applied to a future product.  I am curious as to what the work around would be; but at this time, I will not actively pursue a work around.
Please keep informed about if a work around comes up and or about the status of the error.
Thank you for your response, Hunter!

  • Extracting a Report from SAP Spool into a Useful Excel 2010 Format

    Hi All,
Extracting a Report from SAP Spool into a Useful Excel 2010 Format.  I'm currently running the following report in SAP  and would like the
ability to set this report up as a recurring report running weekly and
subsequently access this report in a useable Excel 2010 format without
much data manipulation.  Can you please assist me.  Below, I've tried to
provide an example of what I'm encountering.   Thanks, beforehand for
    your assistance.
    Here goes:
Step one: Run 62 Report in SAP S_P99_41000062- Material List Price and
    Inventory
Step 2. Select stored Variant "Weekly KPI", ok. Enter the enter  the
desired company code and period I want thre report to run for and update
the currency, if necessary. Having input my desired criteria, I believe
I can either execute immediately, run in the background, preset to run
at date in the future. For this example let's just execute, immediately.
This is where the difference originates. Given, I run this report
immediately, I'm able to simply extract the result to Excel via the list
selection noted in the tool bar below.  The result is a data friendly
excel 2007  report is automatically generated.
    Export to Excel via list:
Select save and Excel 2007 opens automatically:
That said, the method outlined above works perfectly fine if you want
the report immediately.  Now let go back and run the exact same report
with exceptoin of running it in the background and having to retrieve it
from the Spool (SP01) uisng my user ID.  Given the report generated in
the background,  I would now access the report via the spool and make
    the following selections:
SP01 + execute to see my report
I would hit the sunglasses to see the actual report, then want to
extract this report to Excel by selecting the export option.
I would at this point select spreadsheet and be given an option to save
the spreadsheet to local file. However, upon trying to open the
spreadsheet I will receive an error messageindicating that the format is
different than that which the file I am currently trying to open it
with.  I'm currently running Excel 2010 on my computer.  The currency
format and other issues arrise with this extract.  Please help.
    Thanks,
    Chowadary.

    Update to Latest GUI.
Use   List -> Export -> Spreadsheet  to get the output to excel.
I remember in ALV max length allowed is 1023 characters and the max no of columns supported is 90. Issue occurs when row size of exported data gets more than 1023 character. (This includes if Long/Medium Header Text used ) If it exceed 1023 character the columns splits and moves to next row.
Check your fieldcatog for header lengths.

I have a Date dimension with a generated table named Time.  To the table I have added custom columns to show Week_Ending and Short_Date_Alpha that are used in Excel Reports from the Analysis Services Cubes.
When I attempt to use this dimension in Reporting Services, it times out if I try to use it as a parameter.  The report will run for 30 minutes, never surface the parameter selection box and then eventually time-out with an unknown error related to
the time dimension.  This is in Visual Studio.
If I pull the dimension directly from the SQL table I can produce a report on it.  If I run the full query for the measures with the default date selected it runs in seconds in the query builder.    Here are 10 rows of the relevant
    table structure:
    PK_Date Date_Name Reporting_Year Reporting_Year_Name Reporting_Month Reporting_Month_Name Reporting_Week Reporting_Week_Name Reporting_Day Reporting_Day_Name Short_Date_Alpha End_of_Week_Name Week_Ending WorkDay

The dimension looks fine when I browse it.   It produces the correct information in the Excel Reports, but I cannot get it to work in Reporting Services.
I have deleted dates out of the cubes and processed, then added the Time dimension back in and processed and it still won't work.   I have a cube running off a table called Date and that seems to work.
Is the issue with the table name?  With the custom descriptions?   Something else?

How would you best suggest limiting the time frame?   Add a filter to the query so that the future dates are not part of the selection?   I'm doing some data refresh in the data mart so won't be able to try limiting the selection
    for a few hours.
    Hi Diane,
Could you please let us know how many available values for your date parameter(the quantity of date dimension in SSAS)? One workaround that we can try to add an additional text parameter which will prefilter the available values in the large parameter list.
Here is similar thread about this topic for your reference, please see:
