Gallery albums

I have several albums posted to my web gallery from one .mac acct. I recently added another .mac acct on the same computer. My list of web albums posted from the first acct disappeared from my iphoto list. This is understandable since the computer is now under a different acct.
My question is how to I get that list back? I would like to manage some of those albums and am unable to do it from the web gallery itself. Can I toggle back and forth between accounts in iphoto?
One other question - after downloading Leopard - the upload feature no longer works in the web gallery my computer. ANy fixes for this?

The fastest and easiest way would be to setup another account on your mac for the second .Mac account. Then use fast user switching to move back and forth between accounts. If you use the same library for both accounts you probably will want to move it to the Shared folder and set it up to that everyone has read and write access to the library package and contents. You can do that with BatCHmod and check every check box particularly the ones under Everybody . The screenshot does not have Everybody checked as you should check it. Do this after moving the library package to the Shared folder.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Can I publish iWeb sites and Gallery albums in one place?

My Gallery has 66 personal photo albums of simple events (each photo with a caption). Using iWeb, I also have created a multi-page personal website of photos for each of 16 complex events (each site has a welcome page followed by 3-5 photo pages, and all pages have a few sentences of introduction). Now that my beloved Apple has spurned me, I'm hoping to get even, sort of, and post everything--all my photo albums and all my photo websites--in one place. This requires more complexity than I've seen in hunting among suggested replacments for iWeb or Gallery.
In my drooling ignorance, I can imagine a website that has a few levels. On one level are key photos for all gallery albums PLUS key photos for all websites. A user clicks on the main photo of an album or website, and it opens either an album's photos (the current gallery way) or a site's welcome page.
As best I can tell, I want too much. As promising as a site like Zangzing appears, it and others are limited to a single level of photos or to some six interior pages.
Level one shows the key photo for each gallery album AND a key , and has a grand welcome page with linkClick on an album photo and it opens all the album's photos. Click on a website photo, and it opens to s that read, say, "Albums 2000-2005," "Albums 2006-2012," "Websites 2000-2005," Websites 2006-2012." At the next level, each album and each website appears . 'Empty' photo frames for MobileMe Gallery albums

I upgraded from iPhoto '08 to iPhoto '09 last month. I have nine MobileMe Gallery albums. Eight of these albums were created and uploaded using iPhoto '08 and only one with iPhoto '09. I have just noticed a problem which, I believe, has only happened since my upgrade and it's a strange one.
While scrolling through the Photos in my iPhoto 09 Library I noticed that for those photos that appeared in an album uploaded to MobileMe Gallery using iPhoto 08 I have the photo and immediately next to (after) it a white dotted outline of a blank/black space with the Title of the previous photo under it. If I select this 'blank' photo and drag it to the Trash it removes the photo from my MobileMe Gallery album!
This applies to every photo uploaded to all 8 MobileMe Gallery albums with iPhoto 08. The behaviour is not repeated in the images uploaded to the one album I have uploaded to the MobileMe Gallery using iPhoto 09.
Before I realised the significance of these 'blank' photos I selected them as I was scrolling through my Library in Photo view and moved them to the iPhoto Trash! Then I discovered that doing so removed them from both the album on my MobileMe Gallery and the MobileMe Gallery album that I see in the left hand column of iPhoto.
Has anyone else encountered this behaviour - is it normal? Can I simply go to the Trash and drag these 'blank' images back, then sync and hope that they return to the MobileMe Gallery albums?
WIll I have to live with these 'blanks' in my Photos view forever?
Here are two screenshots to show what I'm talking about - the first one is how the deleted images appear in the Trash and the second is an example of how each image now appears in the iPhoto library Photo view.

Web gallery album is still there after deleting it in Aperture 2.1

I deleted a web gallery album in Aperture because I had Stacks turned on and not all images loaded, but the album is still on the web gallery site and I can't figure out how to delete it from there. Any help?

In the Finder Choose: Go>>idisk>my idisk
navigate to the _gallery folder inside the Sites folder then trash the gallery that you wish to delete.

IWeb not showing .Mac web gallery albums in Web Widgets pull down menu

I'm trying to update a webpage and insert a .Mac Web gallery album using the Web Widgets pull down menu. The problem is the menu isn't offering/showing ALL of my .Mac Web Gallery albums. It shows some and I can insert those, however, it isn't showing all of them. I've tried refreshing the list in iPhoto, but it still won't show in iWeb '08. I've even given it several days to refresh, but to no avail.
Any suggestions?

Nice, didn't think of that. I went into iPhoto and, in the Settings, changed it from being only viewable to restricted groups. I opened it up to "Everyone" and, back in iWeb, there it appeared in the Web Widget pull down menu. I then inserted the album and published the web page. I then went back to iPhoto re-instated the restrictions in the Advanced settings.

Rearrange Gallery albums in iPhoto?

So, I've been an iPhoto user for years, and I've had more questions and hair pulls in one day of working with iPhoto'11 and my new Lion Mac than all those years.
This question: I've have many MobileMe/Gallery photo albums, and theytransfered to my new mac fine. I miss having the Web albums listed in the sidebar, but like the grid icon view fine. HOW do rearrange the albums? In the old version you moved them up and down the sidebar and the cahnged order in the grid. But I can't move the stack icons like you'd think it would work?
Alos, it used to be easy to add single photos to a WEb Gallery Album after its creation, by draggin to the album icon. But if I click the photo I want to drag, the list of albums goes away? Do I have to click the "add to" button now?

Okay, I have a partial answer by digging deep into an archived post...I can reorder using the Browser interface for MobileMe. That's fine and dandy, but I use iPhoto software for my photo management and don't want to create a disordered album in iPhoto and then have to go on the web to cahnge it. Anybody have a solution? Seems like an odd new software "feature"

How to get .mac web gallery albums on iphone?

hi just wondered if and how to view web gallery albums on an iphone without using safari to log into.mac. thought there may be a way of an automatic sync between the iphone and .mac web gallery?
i know you can send photos to the web gallery but dont know how to do it the other way around if that makes any sense?

One thing to check out.
If the person who created the .mac web gallery allowed for downloads, then you could download the photos to iphoto then sync to the iphone.
Otherwise you would need to open the .mac gallery in safari.

Removing a web gallery album, even after the iphoto album has been deleted.

I have just created an Album of photos in iphoto, and then published the album to the web gallery. I was able to view the album via the web and my wife did too on a windows based laptop. I then went back to add 2 more photos to the album in iphoto, then again went back to see if they were uploaded too. One was and one wasnt, then the second one did after a couple of minutes. Now I have deleted the albums I created in iphoto, but I still have the link to go to the web gallery site and the album is still online with 24 photos. How can I remove the photos from my online gallery.

I think your best bet is to post your questions on the iPhoto discussions. More people will see them there.
I have been using the web albums for some time. I have merely started iPhoto, then select the web gallery album you wish to delete. Click on the "Web Gallery" icon located at the bottom right hand side of the window. When it opens click on "advanced". You will see the option to hide the gallery on the web.
Now you should be able to go back to the album in iPhoto and delete it.

Resize Gallery Album Placeholders in iWeb?

The Web Gallery album placeholders in iWeb are too big to fit on my Web site so I need to resize them but they always seem to remain the same size no mater what I do. Can anyone help me with this?

I have the same question. However I am using iWeb '08, and I'm wondering if the ability to resize mobileme gallery widgets is strictly a iWeb '09 feature. The tutorial videos on apple.com clearly show you should be able to resize these widgets, but no matter how many times I click on the corners and drag- nothing happens. Also, the inspector window only offers me positioning tools, while the sizing tools are greyed out.
So am I right? Do I need v. '09 to resize these widgets?

MobileMe Gallery Albums

Hello,
I used a separate computer to sign into MobileMe from a browser, created a new album and published the photos; I check the option to sync with iPhoto on my MBP (since I wasn't using it).
On my MBP, I opened iPhoto and could see the albums in the MobileMe section. I could see the photos "processing," which I took as downloading (synching) from MobileMe to iPhoto. This was a couple weeks ago.
Recently, I tried to add faces to the photos. Option was not available. I tried to locate the photos in events; not available. Then, I tried to locate the originals for editing while using finder and showing the package contents of iPhoto; I couldn't. Last, I went back to iPhoto and right-clicked one of the photos from the MobileMe gallery album, selected Show File. The photos have indeed been downloaded from my MobileMe gallery, however, to a different user account on the MBP.

me > Pictures > iPhoto LIbrary > Originals > 2010 > 'not found'
other user > Pictures > iPhoto LIbrary > Originals > 2010 > Boston [this album is from my MobileMe account]
Thoughts on what may be causing this?
And, how can I correct this or prevent the photos from downloading to a different user account on the MBP; whom is not a MobileMe user?
I thought about just moving the original folders where the photos are, but want to know why this happened and how I can prevent it further.

Gallery Album 808 Missing

Hi,
I'm little frustrated with the Gallery of the 808 Pureview:
I don't understand why the Gallery Album option is missing!!!
With such a phone it's easy to take hundred and hundred of pics, but how to browse them without sorting them by:
- Album
- Date
- Place or other options??
Why to downgrade the Gallery from the N8 to the 808?? It was much, much better on the N8!!
Is there any solution to install the Gallery Software of the nokia N8 on the 808, because i really would like to do it??

Thanks you for your feedback and comments. However as N8/Nokia 701 and Nokia 808 PureView are not the same device and there can be multiple reasons for not having a app available to the Nokia 808 PureView in the Nokia Store.
Using unofficial ways of downloading and installing these files may violate license agreements, may cause damage to your device and/or invalidate warranty.
If you know of or see an app which is available for N8 or another Nokia phone and you would like to see the app available for the Nokia 808 PureView please contact the app developer to make it available through the store.

The Elusive Web Gallery Albums

I have my iPhone, I have iLife 08, I have made several galleries, the two I want to use with my iPhone both have the send by email and allow to upload. On my phone when I select a picture then tap Send to Web Gallery it goes to the new page with Web Gallery Albums on the top and a cancel button. Below that is the words loading and the spinning track ball. I have let it sit for hours, I have restored even and still not one gallery shows up. Anyone have any ideas? and yes my .mac account is listed in the email section.

Does anyone have an idea?

Can't change location of mobile me gallery albums

I like to have my albums in ascending order, but now every time I create a new gallery album, it goes to the top and will not let me move it to the bottom like before. Any idea how to fix this?

You can log into http://www.me.com and click the flower icon at the top to see your gallery layout then re-order them there.

Remove one version from web gallery album

I created a mobile me gallery in aperture. AFter doing it, i decided to add copyright to the images in photoshop. I did this with apertures ability to edit with an external editor. I completed it all and went back into to aperture happy to se there were now two versions of each photo, one with the change, one without.
However, on the mobile me gallery folder, each picture has a stack of two pictures, one with the edit one without etc. How can I remove the original from the mobile me gallery but keeping it in aperture?
i seem to remember seeing an option when I right clicked somewhere and I could choose to remove an image from an album, but I can't find this..

Ok i tried that an the version I wanted got a tick at the top centre of the thumbnail. I synced the gallery but it didn't really work.
The thumbnails in the web gallery have the copyright in the bottom right but when you click it to load the large version, it loads without the copyright.

I unstacked one of the photos and found the remove from album button. I tried this and I was left with the one I wanted, so I did it to all of them. I tried to sync it but no joy. Now I am left with the original project in bits as there are some versions with weird names, some with copyright etc and with OCD it is wrecking my head!!
How can I fix this??
