Gallery for ipad

Can't believe there is no Gallery app for iPad yet. Such a (potentially) beautiful way to present.

MobileMe Gallery is available from Apple.
But that is for iPhone.

As we can all see now, Apple have failed to provide (so far) a universal gallery application for it's very own expensive & heavily promoted iPad; which would be less embarrassing if none of the 3rd party developers for a whole range of pre-existing iPhone applications hadn't beaten apple to it by providing iPad updates for their own applications. Apple should have provided this when the iPad launched & I can find no explanation for why it hasn't. COME ON APPLE, I thought this what you prided yourself on, ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
Does anyone know when this will be fixed .

Thanks for the quick response - appreciated. I have no difficulty (or issue with accessing) the gallery via the iPad. My issue (& a legitimate one judging by the review comment made so far from iPad owners) is the lack of a universal app to take advantage of the iPad display; a heavily promoted feature by Apple & a major reason for iPad purchase. If iPad purchasers were foolish to expect Apple to update it's very own apps for use on it's very own product, then Kudos to those clever enough to live an iPad free life.
P.S If anyone knows when Apple intend to issue a universal gallery app, it would be great to know !

  • Web gallery for iPad and iPhone -- your suggestions

    Hi,
My current website has Flash-based galleries created in LR using SlideShowPro.  I want to create an alternate web gallery for viewing on the iPad and iPhone.  Can someone here recommend a LR web gallery plug-in for this purpose?  If possible, I'd like the gallery to work the way the iPhone Camera Roll works, but at very least, I'd like viewers to be able to simply flick their way through the images.  (SlideShowPro Director does this, but I'm not quite ready to take on its complexity.)
I found a pretty nice solution here:

    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks very much.

Someone else just asked this and I answered. You can use the hard drive publish service to push photos into a gallery that synchronizes with iTunes. It works really well.
    Here is the other post:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4410886#4410886
I use the hard drive publish service to create galleries for my iPad. I setup iTunes to sync photos from a particular folder, and then setup Lightroom to publish to that folder. Each time I want to create a new gallery for my iPad, I just create a new published folder and drop the photos into that folder. Then I publish the photos. The publish feature allows me to update photos in collections easily, as well as setup specific sizes for export to my iPad.
I have also used published smart collections for my portfolio images. When I tag a photo with a particular gallery keyword, it gets added to the collection. I then just publish the photos in the service and I've got them on my ipad. It works really well!
Setup a hard drive publish service
    Open the Library module
    Go to the Publish Services.
Press the + to and choose Go to publishing manager.
    Click Add
Choose Hard drive as the service type. Name the publish service iPad Photos
Choose to export your photos to a specific location. Make note of this location and instruct iTunes to use the same location for synchronizing photos. Do not choose to put in a subfolder.
Choose the format as JPEG, Color space as sRGB, and set your quality in the File Settings section.
Choose to resize your photos to fit the iPad in the image resizing section. I have chosen Width & Height of 1500x1500. This will give black bars if your photo doesn't match the aspect ratio of the iPad. You can also choose Dimensions and set a dimension. The output photo will be cropped to fill the screen. I have an iPad 2 and wanted to be able to zoom a bit, so I chose dimensions larger than the iPad.
Set the other options as needed -- sharpening, metadata, and watermarking.
    Click Save.
Back at the Library module you should now find your new publish service. Create a gallery.
Right click the service and choose Create Published Folder.
Name the folder the name you want to appear in your iPad Photos app.
Drop files from the photo browser into this new collection.
Right click the collection and choose Publish Now.
Repeat these 4 steps anytime you want to create a new gallery on your iPad.
All you need to do now is to sync the photos on your ipad using iTunes.

  • Kinetic image scrolling gallery on iPad

I'm struggling with this a bit.  I'm trying to build a image scrolling gallery which allows you to flick through a horizontal list of images.  If you select a pic it will load in a window which sits above the horizontal list.  I'm developing this for the iPad.
I keep getting hung up on where to start with this since it's using touch.  Not seeing any clear tutorials online.  I don't think I want to use any sort of a tweening class.
Has anyone out there done something like this?  I'm probably missing something really simple and appreciate any help.
    Thank you.

I just make such a 'flick scroll gallery' for iPad.  But I still have a problem on its performance.
I have made many of such swfs for PC.  First, I deploy it to iPad using PFI but it did not work well ... too heavy for iPad.  So I am improving its performance now.  It becomes much better than before, but it is still heavier than iPad's native apps (like 'Photo app').
For your reference, my design for the gallery is a 'train' made from three images side-by-side.  The train is masked to see only the image at center, and is draggable for horizontal direction.  When flick to left ended (for example), if x-position of the train exceeds certain pixels from zero (center position) then the train moves to 'minus width of image' by tween class with 'easeOut' easing.  If not, then the train moves back to zero by tween.
When tween is end, if the train's position is NOT zero, switch three images on the train and back to zero immediately.  ...Can you imagine? (Sorry for my terrible English.)  Of course, you can improve the movement considering flick velocity, etc.
If you or anyone know how to achieve SPEEDY flick scroll (as iPad native apps) by PFI, I will appreciate it very much!

  • Does Photoshop Touch for iPad save in .psd?

Does Photoshop Touch for iPad save in .psd?

Yes, it processes RAW files (via Creative Cloud) and saves a .psdx to the Gallery, which again can be shared as jpg, png, psd or psdx.

  • Looking for All-In-One Sudoku Game App for iPad?

Bare with me...  I'm going to learn now if this is an appropriate question here and if not where to go that would be appropriate?
I'm looking for a great iPad Sudoku game app that offers a variety of different format variations using numbers 1-9, different colors, and different shapes--that sort of thing...instead of just the common numbers.  I'm not concerned about scoring the game or tracking time or the leaderboard stuff.
I've looked and found a gillion to consider including Google and looked at some for more detail but so far have found none...and maybe none exist or maybe I'll have to settle for two or three separate Sudoku games to fullfill what I'm after?
So maybe someone in the community knows of just the Sudoku app I'm looking for?
    Thank you.

A quick Google search provided the following:  http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sudoku-hd-for-ipad/id364909963?mt=8
I don't know if it offers exactly what you want, but you can check the App Store, or you can go to Google and type the following in your search bar:  apple sodoku app ipad
    Several options will come up.

  • Logical symbols in pages for IPad? Asking for help

I have a new IPad and I would like to define logical symbols on my keyboard (just like ą, ę and so on). Is there some way to do it and to use it in PAGES for IPad? I would prefer to have few math symbols defined directly under some bottoms and not to use copy/paste. (I tried to find in Pages for IPad some special characters, but there are no such things, perhaps it is possible to add it?) I have also small separated keybord (perhaps this could be somehow used...?)

Afraid you cannot define custom characters for any keyboard in the iPad. What accented characters there are can be shown by holding the appropriate letter down.

  • My rue la la app for ipad suddenly dosent work so I deleted it now when I try to reinstall it the app store says that it not available in the us. It is still on my Iphone and working properly. What is this all about?

My rue la la app for ipad stopped working. I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it,  it is no longer available in the app store and when I research it on safari and find it when i try to install it says that it is not available in the us store. What is that all about?

My app did the exact same thing. It is still unavailable on the App Store and when Rue La La's site directs you to download their app, the "not available in the U.S. message appears. This happened to me last night. The app wasn't working, I deleted it and was just going to reinstall but was unable to find the app. I figured it was some glitch but I have tried multiple times this afternoon to no avail.

  • Cox BUSINESS Email Setup for iPad

I have a *Cox Business* internet account (business accounts are *different from* residential accounts - different servers, etc) with a static ip address and I cannot send email from my iPad via wi-fi Airport network. (Wi-Fi only iPad, not 3G.)
There was a time when I had it working, but a simple one sentence email would take over 10 minutes to send. It was odd. Now it's not sending at all.
My incoming email is through my business email account (via GoDaddy) and it works well. No issues.
Currently, the outgoing settings on my iMac work great for my iMac, but don't seem to translate to the iPad. These iMac setting are:
    *iMac Outgoing Email Settings:*
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smarthost.coxmail.com
    Custom port: 25
    Authentication: none
*iPad Outgoing settings* that previously worked (sort of):
    Host name: smarthost.coxmail.com
    User: blank
    Pass: blank
    Use SSL: Off
Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response (it will NOT set to password - will not "stick" or save on exit)
    Server Port: 587
    +Any help would be appreciated.+

I had actually written a message previously that I just deleted explaining that what you had written doesn't work. I've tried it several times and it made no difference.
Then, I did something that I have not attempted or noticed:
I reset the outgoing cox settings to match my iMac settings listed above (that previously would not work), BUT in the order of listed outgoing servers my mobileme outgoing server (which actually works for outgoing MobileMe emails; don't know why) was listed first in the Primary slot.
It was "On" and I turned it "off" leaving only my cox outgoing settings turned on and it is in the secondary/backup slot. I then sent a test email and it worked just fine.
So the answer is that the settings for ipad outgoing cox business email are the same as your mac/computer, but do not have your MobileMe outgoing server turned on and, for some reason, do not have the cox server set in the primary slot. For example, if I put the cox server in the primary slot then it doesn't work anymore. Weird.
If you do not have MobileMe then I'm not sure what to say, but I have tried these settings with cox being the only outgoing server in the primary slot and it did not work... For me.

  • Is there a voice recording app for ipad that shares directly via iMessage (not just email) - like voice memos does on iphone?

Does any-one perhaps know whether there's a voice recording app for ipad that shares directly via iMessage (not just email) - like voice memo does on iphone?

You can't do anything in the background of iOS. Apps are still one at a time (with a few exceptions like Music), and suspend when the app is closed. It's also against the App Store guidelines to sell apps that would allow such actions.
Though, maybe you could get your Voice Memos saved to MP3's, which can play in the background of other apps.

  • How do you open Garageband for iPad files with Garageband?

I was led to believe that Garageband could open up Garageband For iPad files, but not vice versa.
However when a friend sent me his Garageband For iPad file, and I tried to open it, a "compatibility updater" started running then stopped halfway through and told me Garageband was "unable to complete the download" and directed me to go to Apple help.
    Here I am.
Anybody got any idea how to open (and work on) this file?
    Tank you in advance.
    -Dave-id

Apparently there were a two updaters I had to run first, before letting the compatability updater do it's thing.
And since I got my Garageband for Mac through the APP store I could only do my updating through that.
So if anyone else is having that same problem, update, update, update!

  • How do I animate graphics for ipad, a windows user who might jump ship

Please read this recent post that I put up on the Adobe Flash forums site; only got one reply which wasn't much use to me, maybe you guys can help.
No I'm not on here to moan about Mac not supporting Flash (and yes I know that in theory Apple have done a U turn and are prepared to support it, albeit through gritted teeth).  I have a problem though, I have been using Adobe since, well forever really, and am Windows based, plus I've always managed to keep both Mac and Windows users happy as I am largely video and After Effects based.  I've dabbled with Flash and Director and some HTML coding so I am not completely naive when it comes to interactive presentations.  This time I am a bit stumped though, I have an international client and they have decided as a company to invest in ipads for all their staff, so I am now being asked about interactive presentations including graphics and video content.  Well if any other client had asked this of me I would have brushed up on my Flash and probably developed a straight forward presentation (nothing too fancy is required, no back end data base stuff etc, just a few animated buttons, splash screens and video).  It is probably not agood idea coming onto an Adobe forum and asking what other program I can use for similar projects on the Mac, but that is my starting point.  I know about Keynote, which I perceive a bit like Powerpoint (Micky Mouse comes to mind, I'm asking for trouble saying that I guess), so what exactly is the programe that is used on Macs to do similar tasks as Flash, does it exist?  Before I decide to persist with Flash (and I guess that I am going to be nudged in that direction as I am on an Adobe forum) I'd like to know what is its rival on Mac.  I have done a bit of research and am looking at Xcode4, Cocoa and it all seems a bit confusing and I certainly don't want to learn, C, C++ or one of it's derivatives, plus ipads use IOS a rather pared down version of the full Mac OS.  If I were a Mac graphic designer and I wanted to design an interactive presentation for the ipad (or Mac for that matter) what professional program would I be using?  There you go a very simple question from a very long winded explanation of my problem.
Here is the reply I got form one of the other forum users:-
As far as I know, Jobs was putting all his eggs into HTML5, so you probably want to see how he and the rest of the team are coming along with that spec (estimates are between 3 to 10 years for a final spec release).  I believe you'll need to learn a number of other things (css, javascript, jQuery, ajax, etc) to make it all work together to mimic what it can of a Flash version.
As far as video goes... http://www.informationweek.com/news/hardware/desktop/225701855?subSect ion=News
(Yeah, you're less likely to get positive/useful feedback in a Flash forum... try a Mac forum, better yet, an iPad forum)
    Any help much appreciated

    Hi Mitchell,
I'll try to help you answering few questions. I'll be short now because dinner is almost ready.
My background and experience is web/print designer, but I have been researching and studying iPad since the original is out (I got iPad and iPad 2). I work in Windows environment, I actually embrace the iPad situation.
Ok, basically you want to have "interactive presentations including graphics and video content" for client?
The best answer for that at the moment is: HTML5, jQuery/JavaScript, and CSS. I am sure with those 3 can get something like this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc3fghSJvBM
That's actually an app. Obviously native App has some advantages over WebApp. Take a look at how Google tackle the iPad with its webapp. Lots of great example. Google uses a lot of jQuery in a smart way.
Maybe soon Adobe products will adapt and utilize more HTML5 for iPad. Maybe Flash would eventually go to iPad, who knows.
I actually manage to live "without Flash" and be more efficient with presentation. Less bling and splashy interaction, but still manage to give a "new" experience. I would probably ask the client to wait a bit. Study the available interactive magazines (Wired, GQ, Victoria Secret etc) and websites that utilize only HTML5, jQuery, and CSS to get that "Flash" feel.
There are really awesome Flash websites over the last few years, before iPad came along. We have gone almost "too much" with what Flash can do in term of giving interactive and layers and layers of interactive eye candies UI. Maybe it's time to be more efficient. Save the pixels for what really more important.
Anyhow, try a simple hack: use and experiment Splashtop app or similar app that allow mirroring of PC/Mac into the iPad. This way, you could have Flash on your iPad, as long there is a connected PC/Mac via Wi-Fi.
Try also presentation viewer for iPad, from Prezi.
Remember one thing: It does not have to be the iPad. We know iPad is cool, but if other tables (Android tablets) can actually view Flash and the experience is fine, then go for it. My opinion: Flash is not yet for multi-touch experience.
Tablet revolution is still really young, so, it's time to experiment.
