Ok well im trying to make a simple gallery in action script
3. I've done a much more simple one from a tut (link above) and
that one works fine, then i've done basically the same thing but it
doesnt work.
I check the script and it says no error but when i do Crtl
Enter i get a few error message and im not sure what they mean or
how to fix them.
1120: Access of undefined property biohazard.
biohazard.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
And a few more like that for each picture.
The actual code is :
stop();
function colornav(event:MouseEvent):void {
gotoAndStop(event.target.name);
biohazard.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
eagle.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
way.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
unkownpaper.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
cotn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
unkownfront.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
unknownback.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
grungehead.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
ttposter.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,colornav);
Which should work i believe.
Any help?

Ok, here is the problem.
SimpleButton has several objects for their states - so the
CLICK event is dispatched initially not from the button itself but
from the object that represents the down state. This object is the
target. The button instance is the currentTarget - parent of the
down state child inside SimpleButton.
In any case, change your code from target to currentTarget
and it works - I checked it out:

My site is a Dreamweaver site, but if had to use a flash image gallery that wouldn't be a problem. I basically wanna plug my words and captions in and be done with it. Any help? I still want it to look nice though.

  • Flash Web Gallery HELP

    I decided to create a website to showcase some of my graphic
    design work and I have been stumped for over three weeks of how to
    insert a flash web gallery. I bought this gallery from Entheosweb
    awhile ago and have been trying to correspond with their customer
    service but to no avail. I created a basic layout in photoshop with
    a simple header and footer and a body thats at least 840 x 490
    (dimensions of the gallery). I've been using dreamweaver to upload
    the files to my web host and when I exhange the code of the gallery
    for the image (body) code it is uploaded but cannot be seen on
    http://www.al-burke.com. You
    can actually right click the gallery and press play and it will
    appear. Will this happen for all visitors to the site? Also, I am
    not sure where to put the images and the important files of the
    gallery in my root folder. Thanks for your help.

    I tried access the URL provide, however, it appears you've
    emptied your root directory.

  • Picture Gallery Help!

    Hey everybody,
    I am new to flash and have three seperate but sort - of
    related questions that I was hoping you guys could help me answer!
    Question 1. In april, I will be putting on a "website" - its
    going to be displayed live via a projector onto a projection
    screen. for a small student convention, at this convention are
    competitions for the students to enter, the students will be
    leaving the competition through to doors (door A and door b) What
    they (I) want to do is take a photograph of a student as they leave
    their competition, ship the photo over to the computer holding all
    the files for the site, and then 10-30 seconds after the picture
    was taken I want it to be displayed live on the screen. I have the
    camera's set, they automatically take a picture and send them to a
    file on a computer hooked up via network. What I need is a gallery
    that will display pictures randomly from four sources, - 1) stock
    photos taken prior to the convention, 2) Pictures from Door A
    3)pictures from Door B and 4) Advertisments created prior to the
    convention. The first three sources I want to cycle through about
    every 20-30 seconds, preferably with a spiffy transition from one
    picture to the next with preference (at least in the case of Door A
    and B) given to the newest photos taken. The fourth source (the
    advertisments) I want to cycle into the gallery every 7-10 minutes
    and stay on screen for 1 - 3 minutes. I can give up source 4 if
    nescesary, but I would like to have it. All the pictures/ads will
    be the same size.
    The gallery doesnt need to be styled on the borders, I need
    it to blend and be part of the page, just change images when it
    needs to. I will be doing other things at the conference and cannot
    baby-sit the flash gallery, is their a way to create the gallery,
    and tell it to pull from the sources (call it four folders) and
    rotate when needed. I know (but dont know how to make) that the
    transitions elements can be set up ahead of time, but what about
    the live image aspect?
    Question 2 - Similar to the first, but everything will be
    done ahead of time - at another point on the page I want to have
    banner ads from our sponsors, I just need a gallery to cycle
    through the ads at a predetermined time (i.e Ad 1 stays up for 5
    minutes, while Ad 2 stays up for 2 minutes, etc)
    Question 3 - Not related to the above website, I have another
    page I am developing that I think could greatly benefit from the
    coolness of flash. This will be a picture gallery for 2 products,
    what I am envisioning is a display area for a large picture,
    underneath it 2 tracks of thumbnails, click on track 1 and the
    display area shows the big pictures of the thumnails in that track,
    click on track 2 and it displays the big pictures of that track. It
    would also be cool if it had a zoom feature and a move feature. I
    know the images can be loaded in with an xml document (I think I
    know this) The site will be using a database with lots of products,
    I need to be able to make the XML and flash gallery work with the
    database so that it can change thumnails and bigpictures according
    to the database info - so when you are on product 1, you see
    product 1's thumbs and bigpics. Product 2 - etc.... I can make the
    XML dynamic, I just need the flash part, and make sure it pulls the
    thumbs from an xml file (or other outside source that can be set to
    dynamically get the info) This gallery will be styled and embeded
    into a product template, and
    also can't be babysat or created for each product.
    I am not against buying a prebuilt option if someone knows
    some good ones, I am also not against building it myself if someone
    could give me some guidance as to where to go for tutorials, that
    sort of thing.
    Thanks for the help everybody, If you need any more info
    please let me know.
    -Adam

    What OS version are you running on your phone and who is your carrier? This is something that is controlled by the OS and while there is no way to change the number of thumbnails per row, some OSes have clearer thumbnails than others.
    You can find your OS version under Options > About. Its the number listed after the v. (e.g. 5.0.0.713).
    If you want to thank someone for their comment, do so by clicking the Thumbs Up icon.
    If your issue is resolved, don't forget to click the Solution button on the resolution!

  • Web Gallery help separating photos into 2 collections

    Help creating web gallery please. I would like to separate photos in the gallery into 2 different collections or categories. When I set up my web gallery in LR 2.0 and choose the first set of photos, I can name this collection title on the right panel. How can I then set up a second collection with different photos so they both show up in the gallery on the web and a viewer can choose either topic and then view the photos within it? Thanks.
    Matthew Kraus

    You need to create a master gallery page and link to the pages within. There is no automatic way to do this.
    There are 3rd party options: LRB Portfolio (disclaimer: mine), Auto Index from The Turning Gate will do this with Galleries from the Turning Gate.

  • Pixelated Images on Web Gallery - Help!

    We have been receiving complaints from our clients that our web gallery images are pixelated - and indeed they are to the point that you cannot recognize the person in the image! I have tried to upload different resolutions - high (3000 pixels or more) and low (900 x 1000 or so) and nothing seems to change the way the images look. We use bridge we gallery for clients to order from, so this is obviously effecting what they want to order. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this? Please help!

    I am not sure how to determine that. The only options available there are for Small - Extra Large images, nothing about the size in K. When it is in Bridge it looks the way all photos look in Bridge, but when I actually upload it to the web that is when things get ugly.

  • Aperture to .Mac Web Gallery Help please. Urgent !!

    Hi, I having been going round in circles trying to figure this out -
    Q1) I cannot find a way to update to my published .Mac web gallery from Aperture(2.1)
    When I select the versions that I want to add to the gallery I drag them into the Web
    Gallery album in the projects inspector and synchronize the gallery to update, but
    only the Master images are added to the published web gallery, not the versions !?
    Q2) Also, when I originally created the Web Gallery album Aperture imported my entire
    project (All masters, complete stacks, vers etc) but somehow only published the versions
    I had selected for publishing to a .Mac Web Gallery. Why has aperture included the Masters,
    complete stacks etc in the Web Gallery album ?
    If someone could help with this, particularly Q1, it would be much appreciated as I have
    a client waiting to see more versions which I cannot manage to add to the existing
    published Web Gallery for that client.
    Thx

    Hi Ernie, thx for responding.
    I have tried everything, but same result - Aperture only publishes the unedited Master, not the version with Adjustments. When I originally published images to the .Mac web gallery I disabled all downloads, as the gallery is intended for client review & selection only.
    Some further questions if you don't mind.. Am I doing the right thing in dragging versions from the project to the Web Gallery album (in projects inspector)? When I do that I see that Aperture copies both the Master & version to the web gallery album (they are both visible in the web gallery album) The problem is that only the Master is published to the .Mac web gallery (which i don't want), and not the edited Version(which I do want) This worked ok the first time around when I created the web gallery album and published it to .Mac galleries, however I did notice that the web gallery album in Aperture contains the entire contents of the project (Masters, complete stacks & versions etc)
    The Aperture manual is very vague on adding new images to a web gallery album and publishing them to an existing >mac Web gallery. It says that this can be done, but not how to do so. I may be missing something simple and obvious, but the Aperture user manual is really not sufficient in this area. Any further ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Thx again.

  • Aperture Web Gallery Help

    Now I know I just got the program, and feel I am fairly savvy when it comes to figuring out programs and such. But IS THE ANYWAY TO PUBLISH A WEB GALLERY TO ANYWHERE BESIDES .MAC IN APERTURE2?
    I just can't seem to find the right answers anywhere else online... So forgive my ignorance but please help...

    This topic has been discussed quite a bit here already.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6779280&#6779280
    The short answer is no.
    Much of the functionality is server side.
    You can put web pages and web journals on your own server though.

  • Using jquery image gallery - help!

    Hello there :)
    I'm having an issue with showing images in my jquery image gallery; it's taken me all day and it just won't work. I've tried to follow this tutorial using the latest version of pikachoose 3.0. http://apex-notes.blogspot.com/2008/12/build-image-gallery-using-apex.html
    What I see is nothing but broken image links and no jquery image gallery at all. I suspect the problem is with this PL/SQL statement but I am not sure. I use BLOBs for images.
    DECLARE
       CURSOR c1
       IS
          SELECT "IMAGE_ID"
            FROM "GAL_IMAGES";
    BEGIN
       HTP.p ('<ul id="pikame">');
       FOR gallery_rec IN c1
       LOOP
          HTP.p
             ('<li>
                    <img src="f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:APPLICATION_PROCESS=gallery:::F106_G_IMAGE_ID:'||gallery_rec.image_id||'" /></li>'
       END LOOP;
       HTP.p ('</ul>');
    END; Please help?

    Thank you for the reply Munky... yes I've included the jQuery in the header, and inspected it with firebug as well. I'm just not very good at interpreting the parameters oracle needs to display BLOB data through PL/SQL commands. No javascript errors, the images just refuse to show. Getting it on apex.oracle.com is tough (lots of stuff to export) but I'll get working on that right away. I'm on limited time too because my project is well overdue :/
    Let me show you two screenshots for the time being: http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm116/ctjemm/Login_1267710612595.jpg and http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm116/ctjemm/Login_1267710740509.png
    I wanted something like this - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=25110:11:112222201005926 to happen in the 'gallery scroll' region. :/ He gets his to work, I don't know how though, since I followed every step of his blog meticulously.
    Again, thanks so much for your reply.

  • DreamWeaver CS3 Web Photo Gallery Help

    I bought the Adobe Web Design package to put together a good
    (hope springs eternal) Web site to showcase about 60 oil paintings
    that are presently available at different poster sites. I am a
    novice to DreamWeaver; started my basic web page. I now need to add
    the photos in 6 different galleries - landscapes, waterscapes, etc.
    I assumed I was going to do this in Photoshop CS3/Fireworks and
    import it to the site I am building with DreamWeaver, but 2
    problems confront me:
    (1) I could not find a Photoshop CS3 photo gallery template
    that allows for a text paragraph adjacent to a larger image when
    clicking on thumbnails laid out on the side or the bottom of the
    page, or am I wrong?
    (2) It appears that Photoshop CS3 generates an independent
    web page for the photo gallery - is it even possible to import a
    photoshop cs3 web gallery into an existing DreamWeaver CS3 web
    page?
    Appreciate any info in this area. Thanks.

    Dunno as I do not have CS3; but I've used Photoshop a lot to
    generate
    galleries, then I modify them. I think your main sticking
    point is
    that you haven't found a Photoshop gallery that is close to
    what you
    want, is that correct?

    What's to import? Photoshop outputs web pages and DW edits
    web pages.
    Edit away.

  • Photo gallery help plss!!

    i'm a newbie in AS but i'm willing to learn and i've started
    to make my own flash site...made some simple motion tween, some
    buttons and then i wanted to make a simple photo gallery but using
    a transition effect by using action script cause this way i could
    make the transition backwards unlike using a motion tween that can
    only make the transition forward...
    so googling i found this:
    http://tutorialoutpost.com/view/4717/create-a-photo-gallery/
    i saw that tutorial to work pretty well so i made a movie
    clip inside another movie clip inside my flash site and i repeated
    the tutorial above only this time on a movie clip and not on the
    main scene... and it just wont work...
    the only thing i see is the blue shape that is under the mask
    and where the photos should appear...
    any idea what i did wrong here??

    You still have a JS error on that page:
    Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'galleria'
    You are trying to access a method/function called "galleria" in this line
    jQuery('#bc-photogallery-1').galleria({
    And the function does not exist in that object.
    Cheers,

  • Web Photo Gallery help

    I have a couple of questions about using Bridge to make web photo galleries.
    - is there a way to make the galleries so the pictures retain the same file names as the original pictures?
    Here's a sample gallery I made; http://www.bobcoulter.com/ps5/gallery/content/_1226902297_large.html
    The first pictures file name is; 110108_0023.jpg but in the gallery if you copy the picture it's now called _1226902297.jpg
    - is there a way to force ALL the files Bridge uses to make the gallery so they are lower case file names?  i.e. cutName.js so that it's cutname.js etc.

    IMO when Adobe removed PDF and contact sheet support along with Photoshop Web Galleries  from Photoshop menu File>Automate>Web Photo Gallery... and they added an output module to the Bridge for PDF support and a much less customizable Web Photo Galleries they took a giant step backwards and short changed their users.
    However you can still download some of the removed features like Contact Sheets and the old Photo Web Gallery and install them into CS5  how much longer will they provide them no one knows.
    You can also find some Photoshop Scripts that can be used to generate Web Photo Galleries. Most are written in javascript and not converted to binary so you can download them and if you know a little javascript you can add anything you want.
    Perhaps in some future release the Bridges output module support will catch up with the old support that is in Photoshop CS3.
    The scripts I have modified can be downloaded.  Here are some examples hover the mouse cursor over the bottom of your browser's window in the WS-Slideshow galleries to see its tool bar. I fit my images within a UXGA display 1600x1200 pixels.

  • Web Gallery HELP!  Change background?

    need to figure this out asap!
    can i change the background in web gallery from a color to an image? in LR?
    or Dreamweaver?
    How?
    This might be simple web authoring, but I cant figure it out.
    thanks.

    Do do about info you fill in the text box 'Collection Description' under 'Site Info'. You will notice the text in the template matches what is in that text box by default. That can be your visual cue for other edit places, too.

  • Image gallery help

    Hi!
    I'm working on a flash website and I have thumbnails on the site  that I want to, when clicked on  open an image viewer. Now I have an  image viewer already made I just need to get it to pop up once a  thumbnail is clicked on. I want it so the image viewer pops up over the  page being viewed. Not really looking to open a new browser window just  the flash window if you follow?
    Similar to the one on facebook where if you click the thumbnails at the  top your page the image viewer opens up above the page you're viewing.
    I'm using Cs5 and actionscript 2. If you know how to do this in as3 but not as2 please post anyway as I might understand from there what to do.
    Any help is appreciated!

    I think what you have to do is have the picture viewer start off the stage in the flash document. Then when the thumbnail, created as a button symbol, is clicked animate the viewer on to the stage or really move to a portion of the timeline where the viewer is on the stage . This can be done in the actions layer of the the timeline with the gotoAndStop code snippet in the Timeline Navigation section the code snippet panel. While it may not be the exact same thing, Abode TV has a tutorial called Flash in a Flash, it's for CS3 but the concepts still work, where he, a big bald white guy I can't remember his name, basically does what your talking about. It's a really good tutorial.
