Gantt Tree suggestions...

I'm going to start an lil own project soon that consist of a lil project management app.
Now, I'm just thinking OO design stuff and one of the complex was the task relationships tree.
Of course we got task, and a single task can have many dependents with other task/s, many dependencies also with other task/s or none of both (an independent task).
There can be several types of tasks.
FinishToStartRelationship - One task must finish in order to begin the other task.
StartToStartRelationship - One task must start in order to start the other task.
So I also supossed a NullTaskRelationship for an independent Task that has no dependencies.
now how can i iterate the three ? asking the task... or asking the relationship...
Any suggestions for a better (maybe optimal :) ) desing...

You should consider the Gantt chart to be just one view of the tasks and dependencies. The network diagram (PERT chart) and WBS are other views. Also there is only really one kind of dependency, its FinishToStart, since a StartToStart is just two tasks with a common dependency on the completion of some other task, possibly of zero duration. Tasks with no dependencies are still dependent on the start of the project, and the end of project is dependent on them.
You might find a project makes more sense if modeled as a network rather than a tree, there are also a well understood iterative solution to optimizing the network and finding the critical path. The solution first iterates from start to end following all forward links, recording times in the tasks and then from end to start following the links back completing the calculations and recording the results in the tasks. I am wokring on extending the cPro4.5 gantt chart.
I have a tree hierarchy which I want to display on the Gantt Chart. But my need is to display all the children and its parent in single row i.e. in a new row bove the Poject row in the gantt tree (hierarchy shown on the left side) of existing chart.
Is it possible with the Gantt chart?
If yes, then where and how do I pass this information to the transformation I call in the end to convert the abap tables into XML file which is finally shown on the gantt.

Can ADF Faces tree components do an arbitrary number of levels?

In the help/ADF Developers Guide for the latest version (JDev 10.1.3 build 3673), the section titled "Working with Master-Detail Relationships" shows an example of using the Tree Binding Editor to wire up an ADF Tree component. The process of doing "Add New Rule" to wire up each node of the tree suggests that the number of levels in the tree must be known beforehand.
Is there any way to do the binding for an arbitrary number of levels (e.g. if you are using a composite pattern)?
I'm guessing that if I can't do an arbitrary number of levels, I'll somehow be able to set up a maximum number of levels and have the component behave properly when less than the maximum are actually in use.

Infotype 0002-field Nickname (P0002-RUFNM) Screen Spain (04) & Mexico (32)

Hi,
There is a requirement in which we have to add the field Nickname (P0002-RUFNM) in the 'Name' subscreen of transaction PA30.
PA30-> Personal Data-> Display/Edit-> 'Name' Subscreen.
This has to be done for two Countries- Spain (Alternative Screen no.: 2004) and Mexico(Alternative Screen no.: 2032).
Please suggest how to add the field Nickname (P0002-RUFNM) to the 'Name' Subscreen of PA30.

I checked the feature P0002 in transaction PE03.
Actually there are 2 entries in V_T588M for Mexico:
Variable Key: 32SD
Alternative Screen: 2000
For this entry, field P0002-RUFNM is available.
Variable Key: 32
Alternative Screen: 2032
For this entry, field P0002-RUFNM is NOT available.
And in PE03 the decision tree suggests:
For Country Mexico,
If User Groupo (USERG) = SD,
Variable Key = 32SD (which we want, as it has field Nickname (P0002-RUFNM))
Else Variable Key = 32 (which we don't want, as it does not have field Nickname (P0002-RUFNM))
I am new to SAP-HR. Can you please suggest where can I check the values for USERG and ITBLD?

Slow scroll

Does anyone have ANY solutions to the iTunes 7 slow scroll problem for Windows XP Home Edition? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I don't believe memory per-se is the cause of this issue. I've quickly profiled Safari 5.1.4 and Firefox 11 using Instruments. The test: load up a website (BBC news, say), and then continually scroll with the trackpad up and down for about 20 seconds while recording data.
For Safari, the call tree suggests that ~90% of the CPU time is being spent in re-drawing the page - that is, it seems to be re-rendering the whole page every time there is a scroll event. This will naturally create slow / irregular frame rates when scrolling.
With Firefox, CPU usage is negligible during scrolling. From the trace, it appears to me that the webpage is rendered once, when it is loaded, into a buffer, and redrawing is then just a case of copying the appropriate part of this buffer to screen (which is fast, especially if done on the gpu). I believe this is much more akin to the methods used on iOS with CoreAnimation (which is why you can get silky smooth scrolling with an ultra-high res iPad with a processor that's far slower than a laptop/desktop CPU).
Moreover, the problem isn't limited to Safari, but crops up in many other Mac desktop apps. I find choppy scrolling in Mail, Reeder, the Mac App Store... from limited testing it all seems to boil down to the same issue. Fundamentally, it would appear that many apps built on AppKit & WebKit will suffer from this issue, until Apple can use some method of caching to speed up redraws.
I would suggest filing a bug report with Apple.

Can anyone advise me on AVG Secure Search startup and file tree leftover bloat removal suggestions?

I recently used the solution provided at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/927950?page=2#answer-364990 by KerriB. It worked. However, I still found traces of the bloatware in two other places. Not sure if I should remove them, or not. Suggestions? I've included images of the locations (slightly edited for security reasons).
One is in my startup programs. To access: Mouseover an open space on your desktop. Press the Windows key and the R key at the same time. A dialog box pops up. Type in msconfig. Choose the startup tab. This lists all the programs that are starting at startup. As you can see, VProtect Application and ROC_roc_ssl_v12 are listed as manufacturer unknown, but in the file tree, they are in C:\Program Files\AVG Secure Search.
The other location is accessed via Start, then choosing Computer, Local Disk (C:) (your local disk might be a different letter, obviously) , Program Files. As you can see, there exists an entire folder FILLED with AVG Secure Search items.
I do have an open support ticket with AVG on this matter, but it being the weekend, I may not hear back for a couple of days. I will let everyone know what they advise when I do hear back from them.
UPDATE:
I have complained to AVG, and they offered me a free license for their paid AVG Premium security 2012 edition ... o.O ... anyway, I wrote them back asking about the above left-overs and they responded by sending me a download for a special uninstaller (which you have to install - go irony!). I've included an image of that email (image3).
After running their uninstaller, I ran a system clean-up, and a deep cleaning run of Advanced Systemcare (my favorite cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for "AVG".
As you can see (image 4), I *STILL* had a folder full of AVG accessed by going to Start, Computer, C:\.
I did a secure shred delete (again, and Advanced Systemcare tool, but simply deleting probably would be fine) of this AVG folder. Again, I ran a system clean-up, and a deep cleaning run of Advanced Systemcare (my favorite cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for "AVG". This time, nothing came up. Great! right? NO. I wanted to be *SURE* it was ALL gone, so I opened Windows Defender (the included firewall that comes with Windows 7), expanded the menu on drives to scan, and low-and-behold, look, what do you know, a HIDDEN $AVG folder (image 5)!
Now I have to view all hidden folders to find it. That is done by going to Start, Control Panel, (change View By: to Small Icons), Folder Options, (popup window), View Tab, then check the selection dot beside "Show hidden files, folders, and drives", Apply, OK (see image 6 for the walk-through). Now go back to Start, Computer, C:\, and it should show the hidden $AVG folder. If that doesn't show it, you can also do a Search, and delete the folder from the Search results. AGAIN, I ran a system clean-up, and a deep cleaning run of Advanced Systemcare (my favorite cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for "AVG".
I now feel I am completely free of AVG. I hope this helps you get rid of it too!

How to select a particular node in a tree?-want suggestions urgent

i've to make a tree showing "c:\" folder structure of the system. Initially i'm adding the folders in c:\ only tothe tree. And i'm adding the subfolders when ever i select a particular folder. I'm opening the subfolders and inner subfolders of it and so inside like that. now i'm closing the window . i want the tree to reopen with the previously opened level when ever i again run the program. On closing i'm storing the last selected node using tree.getMaxSelectionPath() . And on reopen i'm setting it as tree.setSelectionPath(tree.getMaxSelectionPath()).
But it is not opening the entire path. it is opening uptop one level only. what to do. Needs suggestion urgently.

I am sorry, I cannot help in another way than looking at the documentation, because I have currently no JDK available here. If expandPath(...) doesn't work, you can try to get all the nodes of that path and expand them from the root node downwards, perhaps that will work.

Gantt chat with tree

Hi to all!
The Tree in the gantt chart looks fine if the row height is 20, if the row height is changed, the rows do not fit together.
In the column of the Tree the row height are further 20 although them in the other columns another height have.

In addition to what Jacob suggested, you could:
1) Make or find several suitable trees. Make symbols of them. Place, size and distort as desired.
2) Find a suitable aerial photo (or photos) and try Object > Live Trace to make it vector.
It all depends on the effect (and amount of realism) you are trying to achieve. If you could post a screenshot of something similar to what you want, we could give more directed suggestions.

Record set size in Gantt Chart

Hi all,
I am developing an application that has a Gantt Chart.
The tree drawn is a 2 level tree. I have two VOs.
The second VO (Child) has more than 20 rows. I want to show only 10 child at once.
Record set size attribute is the one that is used to restrict the size of the number of nodes displayed. Just like in HGRID.
But when the graph is rendered the values that I give are being ignored and the entire graph is rendered.
Any pointers or suggestions on this will be really helpful.

As Anand suggested to add the "rownum <= 10" condition to limit the record set.
But this condition should be set in View Link SQL(Query where clause).

A tree-view in HTML page with nodes generated with java script in run time is not visible in the UI Automation Tree. Need Help

I have a HTML page with an IFrame. Inside the Iframe there is a table with a tree view

In UIA, i am able to traverse till the tree view but not able to see it.
I have used the TreeWalker.RawViewWalker Field to traverse the node from the desktop Automation.RootElement.
I tried to use AutomationElement.FromPoint method to check whether i am able to get that element. Fortunately i was able to get the automation element.
i tried to get the path to root element from the node element using the TreeWalker.RawViewWalker. I was able to get the parent path to the root element.
But trying the reverse way like navigating from root element to tree node, was not getting the element for me.
Please help me with suggestions or inputs to resolve this issue.

i am actually using jinitiator 1.3.1.28 with Oracle HTTP Server of OAS 10gR2) calling Forms Server 6i (f60cgi). After setting up according to Bernard's recommended setup steps, the java console showed that it loaded the icon jar file when it could not read the form, but it skipped the loading of the icon jar file once it read and started the form. How do we specify in the form to pick up the icon from the jar file instead from a directory ? Or do we need to specify ? Any ideas ?

Issue with creation of ADF Table from ADF Tree selection

Hi,
Following is the usecase.
I've created ParentVO & ChildVO from a single table with view criteria to filter the nodes.And then created two View links ParentToChild & ChildToChild.
Added VOs & corresponding ViewLinks to ApplicationModule. It's got created hierarchy as Parent1->Child1->Chiled2 in Data model section of AM.So Iam done with tree creation process in Model.
As VC can't be applied for sub levels. In order to set the VCs for sublevels, followed the below approach.
Created a bind variable for tree. I've set the VC for both parent & child VOs in managed bean before setting the tree variable in setTree method. So now Iam able to display the required tree in UI with applying VCs.
Now , I can select the required nodes from tree and then click on command button to display the selection list as a table.
In order to achieve this, I tried below two options.
1) Created separate Child VO instance (Child3) from Child VO and applied same view which applied initially. and the dragged the Child3 from Datacontrol to UI(jsff) as a table. When I run the application,it's displaying all the records from the DB table without applying VCs.
2) Dragged the Child2 as a table on UI. When I run the application, it's displaying first record from the table without applying VC.
But no luck in getting the required functionality.
I've Following queries.
a) If we update any transient attribute value for an VO instance, will it effect at VO level or only for that particular instance?
Why because, I've created new instance of same VO. But the changes are not effecting for transient attributes in the new instance of VO.
b) Can some one suggest on my usecase to display the selected nodes from a tree in table format?
I tried my level best to explain the usecase. But let me know,if you have any queries on my usecase.
