GC'ing arrays.

Hi all,
        int[ ] old = new int[size];//create array object
       size = newsize;//newsize can be greater or lesser than size
        old =null;//will array memory be available for GC'ing now???
        old = new int[size];//create array object, but use old array name(ref)Is this the right way of making old GC'able?

just to be clear
old = new int[size];
old = new int[size];
old = new int[size];
old = new int[size];
old = new int[size];at the end of this block there are 4 arrays thatare
gc'able.That this mean, I dont have to say
old=null; before reassigning the
array(ref) to new array?no, the garbage collector detects that the allocated memory is not referenced anymore without you having to explicitely set the reference to null... would be quite boring otherwise ^^
