Generally, is it better to have one LONG script/applet or break up the functions?

Let's say I'm doing processing for 5 things that are semi-related, or the same process but for many interfaces. Should I have one script/applet that does it all or make five scripts/applets?
Does Cisco EEM work better with multiples short sessions or one longer session?

EEM was designed to provide short-running automations. The default max runtime for all policies is 20 seconds. However, this runtime can be extended to huge values. It really depends on the specific use case as to whether it's better to do all the work in one policy, or break things up into multiple policies and chain them together. If the policy will be doing the same thing, but on a large-ish dataset (like interfaces) it would be better to do it all in one policy versus trying to duplicate the logic in multiple policies.

An iTunes account can only be used in one store at a time, and you need to be in that country with a valid billing address on your account for that country in order to use it there. An email address can only be linked to one account, so if you want two separate iTunes accounts then you will need two email addresses

If you mean finding your IP address you have to enter the router's settings via a web browser. and go to the Status page. It will likely be under the heading Internet Port. Then you can Google for:
who owns XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
where the x's is the IP address.

Hold down the on/off button and the home button for 20 to 30 sec, when the iPod starts and the Apple logo is on the screen release the on/off button but continue to hold the home button until you see the plug into iTunes screen. Connect the iPod to iTunes and you should be good to go.

Is it better to have one Event Structure with more (10 or 15) cases or several with fewer?

I have several buttons and events on the GUI of my app to monitor. Would it be better to use one Event Structure with several cases (10 or 15) or have a couple and split the cases evenly? None of the cases have much processing to handle, so there is not a time lag issue. I am just worried about overloading the structure. One of the tech support guys mentioned that the event structures are not that hard to get confused.
Has anyone had any problems with Event Structures?

I use event structures very often in my code. I use them just to handle the interface and to run small code. I have had event structures that handled over 50 user interface events and never had a problem. In my personal opinion If there was any code to run I would let the event structure handle the the user interface event that fired a que in another while loop that handled the code.You can find examples on this, if not I will send you one. It is just good programming practice for beginners because it will alow you to build more robust VI's in the future.

TS3899 I have one message that I cannot delete. The error message reads: The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash.

I have one message in my Inbox that I have tried numerous times to delete and I just can't get rid of it. I have tried the instructions that the Apple Support suggests but it still didn't work. Has anyone else had this problem?

     I'm having the same problem. Seems to have started after an update about 4 days ago.
Mail seems to think the messages are files and won't let you have more than 1 with the same header in the Trash mailbox. If you do away with the Trash Mailbox by having mail delete the message instead of sending it to the Trash Mailbox the problem goes away, but so does the ability to recover a mistakenly deleted message. I get a lot of messages from the same people with the same header on the message. this problem is driving me crazy and I haven't been able to find anyone with any idea of whats causing it. Your the first user I've seen with this same problem.
     Lets hope someone has an idea. I would really like to solve this without losing all of my old emails.

I have one long clip...how to split?

Because the only video files I have available are long clips, I need to split them into smaller, more manageable clips. I know how to just drag an in/out point clip from the sequence into my bin, but that just gives me a selection of the larger clip...I want a clip that I can edit more easily (i.e. make in/out points in it without changing how long the clip is).
I thought that this is what Make Independent Clip did, but it doesn't seem to. I just want to take part of my larger clip and make a normal, smaller clip in my bin.

Of course you can mark In and Out marks in a Subclip in the Viewer. You load the master clip into the Viewer, IN, OUT, Command-U. Then you load the subclip into the Viewer. Then you mark your In and Out in the subclip...
Done.

After I turn on my macbook, it takes a much longer time to turn on. I can move around the arrow, but nothing works. I tried to click every app, no response. I have to wait a long time and then everything works. Did I do something wrong?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I have no longer been able to connect to the internet as aiport continueously tells me that "airport has selfassigned ip address and will not be able to connect to the internet.

Up until about a week ago I have not had a single internet connectivity problem. Then, all of the sudden airport will no longer connect and it keeps telling me that "Airport has self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet." I did not change any settings, I didn't touch anything and all of the sudden it just will not connect anymore. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!:)

These steps often sort out this problem...
System Preferences > Network
Select the AirPort from the left hand side
Click on the Locations combo box and select Edit Locations...
Click on + to add a new location, call it "Home" (or anything else you prefer)
Click on Advanced
Select the AirPort tab and enter your network name
Select TCP/IP tab.
Configure IPv4 Using DHCP
Now click on Renew DHCP Lease. After a few seconds you should get an IP address (probably 192.168.x.x)
Click on Proxies tab.
Select Auto Proxy Discovery and Use Passive FTP
Click on OK and Apply, etc.

I have one specific library that when I select the "view all clips" in the browser drop down box, FCPX locks up. Rebuild the library? What would be the best method?

Yes, Force quit is the only option. No background tasks running, nothing on FCPX works, save I can move the beach ball around.
All the other menu options work fine. In fact, FCPX works in the library except when I select view all clips in the browser.
I am running Version 10.1.3 . It is only this library that has the problem. I am a new user so I only have three or four libraries so far. Most on the same local external drive.
The only difference I have been able to determine is the library in question has files on my boot drive as well as the local external. Could that be the issue?

When i go on my phone it says i have 3 new messages but when i click on it i really dont. I turned off and turned my phone on 3 times and it still says i have 3 new messages how do i stop that. Without actually turning on the bager icon thing that pops up on the app.

It sounds like your notification for messages is showing that you have a few mesages but when you go into the app, there are no new messages. I would start by signing out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages. Then close the running apps on the phone:

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone, sign back in, and try again:

After the last Firefox update, the icons for my bookmarks disappeared. I have a long list of bookmarks and found the identifying icons very useful. Where'd they go and how do I get them back??

I don't know how I could make this any more clear.... Where the icons used to be, there is now either nothing at all or a square shaped by dotted lines.

Do do get any errors ?
Finally you could check the OSS for the BAPI 'BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE'. Maybe there are some known errors.

I have an old ethernet CAT5 cable. I see they sell ethernet cables in the store. Will one of these cables they sell in the Apple Store give me a better connection, especially since my ethernet cable is pretty much destroyed.

Is the CAT6 ethernet cable they sell good for the regular MBP to ethernet outlet or is buying this a waste of money? My ethernet CAT5 is really old, broken, and I can't beleive anything can move by the twists and knots it has in the cable. would it be better to purchase one of these tht I see in the store?

I have a ethernet cable that is at least 10 years old, and I use it all the time. Nevertheless, if you want to buy one, just order the cheapest one you can find. I don't think the Apple Store sells ethernet cables that are somehow better than any other ones.
Of course, they make the best smartphone out there!
