Generate files - memory (not at local disks)

Hello,
I'm new at this forum and I really need some help over here...
I am generating an array of bytes and I need to let the user download the file created by this (a pdf file).
But I cant let the file at the server, so I was thinking about load it in memory so the user would be able to download the file without need to use the server....
Somebody know how could I do that??
Thanks!

You're welcome, you could embed a file using a class and the
metatag. I think you could do the same using PDF but I've never done it.
Sincerely,
Michael

Yes, thats would be the best way, but the only problem is that I
have all that done with iReport and its working well.
With the alivePDF I would have to do all the implementation again!
If theres any other way it would be great.

Any other ideas would be welcome...

  • DW CC - Related Files "Not on Local Disk"

In Dreamweaver CC, related files, shown as tabs at the top of the currently open file window, now fail to open their file content. So clicking on e.g. header.php would have brought up the content for header.php, now a message appears saying "header.php is not on the local disk". Opening it in the file list shows the file contents perfectly. This only started to fail today. The same file still opens from the tab correctly in CS6 so something in CC is causing the problem. All site files are on an external drive permanently connected to a Mac BookPro, and they have been for years with no issues. Any ideas why this problem started?

  • Why my self-signed applet could not read local disk but could write?

I used a self-signed certificate for the applet yesterday and it worked
fine at the beginning time, that is, it could write/read file to/from
local disk, and it could connect to other MDS servers. But later, a
problem happens. It could write file to local disk(I tested it and created
files to C:/ under windows) but when it try to read that file, it got a
io acessing exception. It could connect to other servers. I am puzzled
about this problem, and I wonder why I could write but could not
read. Need I deal with any policy file issue here?

    hi,
i 'am doing something which is similar to the stuff ur doing .I wanted to write into file on the local disk on which the applet is running.for this i have signed the applet .do i need to make it self signed wat is difference between the self signed and signed applet .The problem which i facing is that it still gives me the security exception even if i define the policy file for that applet............Can u help me reagrding this

  • Generated files do not rename automatically when doing save book as

I'm using FM8. Inside of your book, generated files are suppose to rename to your book name automatically when you do a "save book as", the filenames are not changing, does anyone know why this is and what the solution is?

Is it the actual physical filename of the existing generated files or the filenames as shown in the book file that you are referring to as not changing?
FM doesn't rename the actual existing files, instead it expects the book to be regenerated at which point it will create the new generated files.

  • Safari unable to download the file.. not enough free disk space?

Very odd! After filling out Apple's Online Rebate Submission Completion Form, I was asked to print it out by clicking on the supplied link, but instead, I got this prompt:
Safari could not download the file because there is not enough free disk space!
Of course, this is totally ludicrous because I just bought this computer and it has a 500 Gb hard drive!
    Any idea what's going on?
    Message was edited by: WildBill

Tried using Firefox instead of Safari. The prompt I got in this instance ultimately had to do with changing the permissions on my download folder? Odd.
When I tried to add myself (as the administrator) to the list, the info window crashed. When I clicked on "everyone" and changed permissions to read and write (instead of just read), I was able to download the form as a pdf.

  • SQL server 2012 does not see local disks other than C being started under domain account (which is local admin on the server)

Hi all. We have a SQL Server 2012 installed to a fresh Windows Server 2012 Server. There is a service account domain\rusystem01 created to run SQL services. It is added as a Local administrator on this server.
The issue is that SQL Server does not see any local drives (other than C drive) on the server if we run it from this domain service account (for example, we cannot move any databases to any other drives or setup backup).
It works fine (and other drives ARE available) if SQL Services are started from Network service account or Local service account (which is not recommended by Microsoft). But does not work from domain account.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Apply NTFS ACLs for the folders (and perhaps volumes*) for SQL Server.  Use the Per-Service SID, rather than the Service Account for the ACLs so they survive changing the service account.
The per-service SID is "NT Service\MSSQLSERVER" for a default instance and "NT Service\MSSQL$InstanceName" for a named instance.
*Volume ACLs are set in Disk Management.

    David http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dbrowne/
David, would you please clarify what do you propose? I open D: volume on the Disk management and grant NT Service\MSSQL$DEV account with Full control permissions. Restarted SQL - no effect. Still only C: is visible for SQL.

  • Delete file but not remove from disk kills Yosemite preview all RAW files dimension now 0 X 0?

Sorry to trouble you but this has never happened before so I need help.
    I loaded 300 photos into LR 5.7
    I deleted 200 of them.
But I asked LR not to remove them from the HD in case I might need them again in the future.
When I go into Finder, all the files are there showing 15M 18M whatever files size, but no preview.  All the files show "dimension 0 X 0"
Preview won't open them saying "format not supported"
But I can open them in LR5 and CS6
I can even edit them, from LR5, including using plug ins.
    I tried reboot.  No good.
    tiffs, jpegs all works find.
All RAW files are now not viewable in Preview / Finder,  regardless of whether they are Nikon, Cannon, Panasonic, Leica
    my system:
    5KiMac  4GHz i7, 32 GB DDR3, AMD Radeon R9 3TB fusion drive and 4TB SATA Thunderbolt running under Yosemite 10.10.2
    Please help.

Do you have a new camera?
I note that my D750 raw images need update 6.01 in Yosemite OS. Check this site- OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support
If your camera is listed then maybe you have corruption of the Yosemite install.

  • Redo log groups/files on the local disk for RAC DB

Whether is it possible/supported to place redo log files/groups on the local disk for a RAC databases ?
    Thank you,

    Hi Mufalani,
are you sure about this one? I'd think that this only works as long as the nodes don't restart/crash. I can imagine this like this:
The nodes store redo logs on local disks which are NFS-exported to the other node. Everything should be fine. But when one node crashes/reboots, the other one has to perform crash recovery for the crashed instance but this won't work when the NFS mount (with redo logs) is unaccessible. So I would not want to do this.

  • File open menu will not open local files using open command but the same files will open if I double click them (permissions seem fine)

Under File menu Open File will not open local files even those downloaded to the desktop by Firefox 5.
If I double click on HTML file it does open
Reinstalled. Same behaviour. Default Browser set correctly.
    Permissions set correctly. Odd behaviour.

Are you sure it hasn't imported?
Check for the track names (trackname only, not Album or Artist)) and see if they have a blank Artist and Album, because WAV files have no MetaData, so are kind of stupid as far as knowing anything about the Artist, Album & track id.
You can't search by 'Untitled' either as there is literally, no name at all, but iTunes does pick up the actual physical track name in Finder and uses that. As an example, if you renamed your Aerosmith WAV file from say 'Toys In The Attic' to 'Love Song' it would import the track as 'Love Song' as that's all it can go by.
There are a few iTunes AppleScripts that let you import from a file of WAV music, by looking at the enclosing Album in the enclosing Artist as that's how most PC progs create the WAV file structure.

  • Read a bfile and write its contents in a file stored in my hard disk

I will try to describe my problem as clearly as I can.
I have created a table that includes a LOB column "BFILE"
Then I'm trying to READ the BFILE stored in our database using the
    DBMS_LOB package.
    so far so good.
Now I want to write these data that I have read in the step above in a file
saved in my local disk. The problem is, since the file in databse is
stored as binary and I read Raw Data , I cannot create an exact copy of this
file. It seems that It doesn't write the RAW data in the binary format.
I have used the DBMS_LOB.READ to read the data and it works fine.
Now I want to create a file in my local disk and dump the data that I have
read from the BFILE that has been initially stored in the database.
Is there any solution to this problem?
I hope to hear from you soon
    Thanks in advance

ignore me now.... I answered my own question a short while
    ago.
    for anyone who cares....
I used CFHTTP to get the page and then used a cffile to write
the #cfhttp.filecontent# into the new file!

  • File names of generated files

    Hi All,
Why is it that a generated file is no longer generated once added to a book manually or renamed ? It is the same file, I should say.

FrameMaker has always required that the generated files be named relative to the name of the book file AND FrameMaker needs to create them.
The first is not exactly true, that is just the way the FrameMaker UI handles those issues. You can rename TOC etc. files from within a book and they will stay generate-able files. But you are correct that (at least when using the UI) FrameMaker needs to create them inside a book.
A little background: FrameMaker documents are just documents and they know (almost) nothing about any books they might belong to. They especially don’t know whether they are generated files or not.
A book has links to documents which are called »book components«. Book components have some common and some different properties compared to documents. Numbering e.g. they have both, but as soon as you update a book, the settings for a book component "win" over any document settings. The knowledge if a document is a generate-able book component just lives inside the book, so with the UI you have to create them inside the book using the Add menu.
Using the FDK or FrameScript you can make any file a TOC or IX, and there is no special naming required. In most situations it is a good idea to stick to the way the application handles it.

My ear can be generated successfully and the class in question is specified to be java.io.InputStream. I am running Sun Java System Application Server 7 2004Q2 Update 4.. Any help on this matter will be appreciated.

As you can see the generated files do not compile because a class specified as java.io.java.io.InputStream does not exists. My ear can be generated successfully and the class in question is specified to be java.io.InputStream. I am running Sun Java System Application Server 7 2004Q2 Update 4.. Any help on this matter will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
