Generating dynamic HTML for odiSendMail

Hi,
I have a requirement where i need to dynamically generate a HTML table, which is to be sent as the body of an email notification. This table will essentially be a HTML representation of data from some DB tables. How can I achieve this. A detailed solution is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
Is there a way to dynamically generate the body of email in odiSendMail? If there is please let me know.

  • Using javascript to dynamically generate the html for a  Spry table

I have some javascript which generates html code for a Spry
table which displays the content of a Spry data set. The problem is
that after I generate the html, Spry never fills in the values for
    the table.
    Here's what I'm doing:
Using a data set observer, check for onPostLoad and generate
    the html code
Using innerHTML, stuff the code into the appropriate
    <div>
Use regionName.updateContent() to update the region I just
created with the html code I generated
Interestingly, if I take the generated source for my page and
remove the data set observer, the Spry table displays correctly
with all the expected values. This suggests to me that my generated
html code is correct, but that there is some sort of timing issue
(i.e. Spry doesn't know about the new code I generated).
    Any suggestions?

I'd guess that it is a timing issue as well. I haven't looked
much at the dataset capability in Spry, but it may be that the
dataset "finds" all of the regions and code that it applies to
before the onPostLoad event is triggered. If that is the case, then
your generated code doesn't exist yet,and so the dataset thinks
that there is nothing for it to apply to.
Will the HTML that you generate change based upon the dataset
that is actually returned? I guess I'm looking for the reason why
the HTML is being generated when it could be in the page itself and
    avoid this issue completely.

    Hello,
I am writing a Java application to connect to a local light-weight java database. I would like to generate and present a HTML on the fly after selecting records from a database. At server side, I could easily use JSP/Servlet to do this. How can I do this on a desktop client machine using Java application? I do not want to install Apache web server on the desktop machine. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The way u need to generate your html pages depened on what u want to generate,
anyway what i can help with, is how to display a generated page.
u have to use JEditorPane with HTMLEditorKit and HTMLDocument to display any HTML.
also u can use the methods provided with the above objects to generate your html format.
    I hope I helped.

  • Generating Dynamic Query for Ad-Hoc Reports

    Hello,
What is the best way to create a dynamic query to generate ad-hoc reports? I have a couple of ideas but not sure which would work best and be most flexible.
I would like our users to be able to check checkboxes for what data they would like returned in their report. The data would be pulled from a number of tables, 10+, depending on what pieces of data they checked.
Should I write one dynamic query, with a bunch of IF statements in it?
Should I write many individual queries and then join them together in a temp query?
Should I create a temp table on our SQL server which contains the data from all of the tables; then query that? (I am worried about data being out-of-date with this option.)
Which one of these solutions should I go with or is there a better solution that I am not considering?
    Thanks for the help.
    Josh

Do you mean a Stored Procedure? Would the Stored Procedure then have one query on it with a bunch if IF statements? Maybe a bad example, but something like this?
    Yep.
I haven't written a proc for a coupla years (I have DB people to do that for me now, bless 'em), but every DB is different, so the approach will vary depending on what DB you have.  It's perhaps time to buy a book or do a google or something.

  • Generating dynamic columns for a report

    Hi all,
Can anybody pls. tell me how to output dynamic columns in a report. my req. is that i've to generate so many columns as there are no. of unique(a particular field value) rows in my internal table. for e.g say suppose i've 5 rows in my internal table which has 2 fields, one short text & it's corresponding value. so now my report output shud have 5 columns with the short text as the column heading & the their corresponding values below each column heading. i heard it can be done thru field-symbols. can anyone pls. guide me.

    Hi Sushma,
This piece of code might be useful.
The following sections will help you to understand the steps required to define a Dynamic ALV.
    Following symbol signifies:
    Þ                    Important
    Main Steps Required
The following are the main steps that are to be performed for defining a dynamic Alv
    1.       Defining a field catalog
    2.       Defining the dynamic table
    3.       Filling data into the table
    4.       Displaying ALV list
    Defining a field catalog
The purpose of defining a field catalog first in case of Dynamic ALV is somewhat different than in case of normal ALV. In case of Dynamic ALV the field catalog is used to define the final internal table that will hold the data, and would be used to display the final output.
Þ It is very important to remember that the field catalog table be refreshed first, else it might give an error.
    For example:
    DATA: T_FIELDCAT TYPE LVC_T_FCAT,
    L_FIELDCAT TYPE LVC_S_FCAT.
       Refresh T_FIELDCAT.
      CLEAR L_FIELDCAT.
      L_FIELDCAT-FIELDNAME = 'LIFNR'.
      L_FIELDCAT-INTTYPE = ''.
      L_FIELDCAT-OUTPUTLEN  = 10.
      L_FIELDCAT-COLTEXT  = TEXT-002.
      APPEND L_FIELDCAT TO T_FIELDCAT.
    Defining the dynamic table.
This table will hold the final data that needs to be displayed. To declare the table the following things need to be done.
    Declare a field symbol
    Displaying Alv List
This is done in the same way as we do for normal Alv. Call function “REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY” and pass the field catalog table in the export parameters and the dynamic table in Tables.
Reward Points if it is helpful.

  • Best way to generate dynamic html in apex

    Hi all,
I have to create a complex page in html with tables within tables, ajax and a very large number of items (text fields).
Like to have your opinion to know what the best solution to create this page. The HTML within the PL / SQL makes it difficult to manage in future. There is another way to generate HTML code, without being inside of PL / SQL?

    Hi 819517,
You should be able to get your desired effect using regions and sub regions.
As you can create your own custom templates for both.
You may find issues with more than 50 fields on your form.
You can get round this by re using field names (as in a multi row form).
If you are submitting more than a few hundred fields, you may need to look at the settings for modplsql in apache (if you are using it) as the maximum number of form fields is a setting in the conf file.

  • Cannot generate dynamic alert for initial column in SNP.

    Hello,
I have an SNP alert macro with a simple condition running from Initial column for 158 weeks. The alert is generated correctly for all other weeks but not for initial column.
The IF condition works correctly because a CELL_BG() in the same alert macro is correctly changing the color of the Initial column cell.
Is there some setting I need to make to generate alert for initial column?
    Regards,
    SS

    Hello jejeje,
thanks for your efforts - what you describe is something users have found out on our side too - a problem remains: you can save this setting "Period from last Selection" and it brings you to the INITIAL column but: once you have scrolled forward in the SNP data view (so that the INITIAL column has disappeared) and you leave the SNP data view or select another product ... it "remembers" that you last time left the data view NOT having INITIAL column as a start column.
So, my users say that they scroll back to INITIAL column before selecting another part or using another SelectionID or leaving the SNP data view ... and of course they hate this since they have to do this a few hundred times a day worse case.
We had a call open to SAP on this and I told them that is about productivity and usabaliity issue moving from SCM5.0 to SCM7.0 - but they have nothing more to say than "not supported anymore" - and the ultimate solution is / will be to modifiy SAP SCM standard coding - unless somebody from SAP is reading the discussioons here and is dedicated to help their customers which pay millions every year into SAP support fees.
Thanks for your responses and effort !

  • Dynamic html header

How can I generate dynamic html header entries in a page?
    Thanks,
    Art

See [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2808228]: a PL/SQL Function Body Shortcut would be the way to go in page HTML Headers.
For even more flexibility and lower maintenance, consider the other technique mentioned there of placing one of the #REGION_POSITION_nn# placeholders inside the HTML &lt;head&gt; in the page template. A template-less PL/SQL Dynamic Content region can now be set at this display point to generate any header content by calling package code that uses htp. Put this region on page zero for a very generic solution...

  • Help with Dynamic HTML

I find myself generating dynamic html within servlets like this:
    os.println("<TD ALIGN=RIGHT VALIGN=TOP><FONT SIZE=1>Website creation & design, by <A HREF=mailto:" + webmaster + ">Blah, blah, Inc.<BR>");
    os.println("</A>Contact the <A HREF=mailto:" + webmaster + ">webmaster</A><BR>");
This is trememdous strain on my wrist and brain.
Is there any other way to generate dynamic html easier than writing it by hand inside the servlet?
    Thanks,

    Hi
Yes there's a much better way. Just try it with JSP Java Server Pages. It's similar to php or asp, but with jsp you can also use java code in it.

  • How to generate a html page for a VI which is created by a vi template dynamically

I have a executable which calls a VI template dynamically, say it is subvi.vit. A subvi1.vi is generated by the template. On my web server, I want to display the front panel of subvi1.vi. How can I generate its html file programmatically if I don't want to use CGI?
    Thanks for your reply.

    Hi tst,
    Thanks for your fast response.
I don't know how I could make this mistake to put the post under feedback board but let's keep it here because I don't know how to move it to LV board unless I start a new thread.
I don't know if I could do it in wizard because subvi1.vi doesn't exist before the executable runing. I have to create a html file during running.
I did generate a html file in wizard but I have to use subvi.vit to do the web publishing. When I log into web server http:\\localhost\subvi.html, I got error message "the requested VI is not loaded into the memory on the server computer". The reason is that the vi template subvi.vit was loaded dynamically, so it is not in memory any more once the VI reference is closed. But subvi1.vi is running now. I need to display subvi1.vi's real-time front panel.
    Did I clarify my issue?
    I would appreciate your help.
    regards,

  • File name field not generating dynamic file name for report printing

    Hello Folks,
I have a report region on a page and have enabled report printing. I would like to have the file name generated dynamically. So, I add the substitution string, say "&P1_CUSTOMER_NAME." (no quotes). The output file I get is literally named "&P1_CUSTOMER_NAME..pdf" (no quotes).
I have seen several posts suggesting the file name field should accept this syntax but, I cannot get it to work.
We are running Application Express 3.2.0.00.27 and BI Publisher.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help.

I was finally able to make it work using a page process and the APEX_UTIL.DOWNLOAD_PRINT_DOCUMENT with a submit button.

  • Servlet to generate  *new*  html pages for browser

    Dear all,
    Greetings!
I am write a servlet, and I want this servlet to generate different html pages (say 5 pages) simultaneously, and then display them in 5 different pages in client browser.
    The sequence is like this:
    1) the user click a link in a web browser and send request to web server.
    2) web server has a servlet to handle this request, then in doGet() or doPost() method it will do some calculations first, after that, it generate 5 different html pages (it can use redirect in a chain fashion) and send back to client browser.
    3) the client browser will display these 5 different html code in 5 different pages (should not be the same as the original pages that submited the request), i.e, it will pop up new web pages automatically to serve 5 different pages (since each page will have <html> ... </html> codes).
Any solution, if possible, please give me some idea.
//-- My main problem is: how to ask servlet to generate html codes,
//-- and when send back to client, let browser displays the information in
//-- a new web page (not original page the submit the request)? show some servlet doGet() code if possible.
if you have solution for even only 1 page, your help is also very appreciated!
    once again, many thanks!

    However, for wild guessing,
are you included d:\richard in your CLASSPATH?No. Does the CLASSPATH affect the default directory to create file - and I have to put the Tomcat as the first path in my classPath? But I just found that I set environment variable HOME to be d:\richard. It must be the reason.
    How about this:
When a use submit a request, the servlet starts a new
thread to do the process, for example.....I thought about this solution earlier. It is true that this is a solution. Now I am not worrying about it, since when I move on about this project, I found something more interesting (worse?) for this project. Detail follows:
This morning I was informed that the project needs the request being sent from the front end applet, (*NOT from browser link*), so now even simple client side scripting does not work. This is because when servlet sends back response, it will send back to applet by Connection.getInputStream() - this is what I can think about right now. Basically, it means, the browser will not even have a chance to process the returned HTML code. So the question becomes: How to ask browser open a web page to display the servlet response from an front end applet directly? ;(
I am almost run out of idea! Will check back later, meanwhile spend some more time considering... It is very late here now (early in the next morning)!
Thank you very much indeed for all you kind help!!!
