Generating fmt file problem

Hi,
I have been trying to load the data from delimited file to Microsoft sql server 2005 database.Iam using the "LKM File to Mssql(bulk)" knowledge module.It is failing at the step generating fmt file.
can any one help me to solve this issue??

Performance problems to generate PDF files using CR

Hi,
I develop an application that read TXT files and uses this information to generate PDF files, but I'm having problems with performance to generate this PDF, each files are taking at least 1 minute to create the file. I realized that some TMP and RPT files are generated and deleted in the temp folder of the machine which is running the application, but after some time creating the PDF's the RPT files aren't deleted and I have an exception on my app:
Memory full.
Failed to export the report.

Hi,
If you are using IIS5 the give aspnet full permission to the Temp folders. For IIS6 give IIS_wpg permission.
For this you need to right click on the folder,
go to properties,
security tab,
click on Add,
Type aspnet/iis_wpg,
select top note in Location and click on check on check names.
Give full control and
click ok.
Also try using GC.Collect(), reportDocObject.Close() and reportDocObject.Dispose() as clean up code.

Problem Displaying generated Markup File (CLOB column)

Dear Colleague,
I am attempting to display the results of a generated Markup File in a Forms Text Item. The code (Below) is in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
Step 1: generates the markup file and stores it in the MARKUP_DOCUMENTS table.
Step 2: Copies the clob column DOCUMENT to the clob variable MYCLOB
--> At Step 2, my form crashes !!!
Is Oracle Forms not able to process CLOBs? The form was compiled as if there was no problem.
How can I access the results of the generated Markup File in the MARKUP_DOCUMENTS table and present it to the Oracle Forms user?

Problem in dynamically generating the file upload field

Hello all
I am using netbeans 5.5 and visualwebpack for my jsf project.
i have a problem in dynamically generating the file upload field and using it.
I have a panel say "panelA" which holds file upload fields.
Depending upon the count value i generate the file upload field using following code snippet:

upload1.setId("upload1");
getPanelA.getChildren().add(upload1);
The page successfully shows up the file upload fields. While the user clicks the submit button, i have used following logic to perform upload:

I am getting this UploadedFile object null.

Anyway,
I solved the problem.
Actually i was using label property of the upload field due to which i got null pointer exception.
I removed the label property of the upload field and things worked as i wanted.

WebDynpro: Problem with opening the generated xls file

Hi,
I am new to the WebDynpro for Java world.
I am trying to learn by referring to the sample tutorials on SDN.
I tried executing the sample project for the exporting to excel.
After I down load the generated xls file to my computer and try opening it I get an error message from excel : "Microsoft Excel Viewer cannot open files of this type".
I get the same error message if I try opening the file directly instead of first downloading it.
Please help me out with possible reasons for this.

I guess the problem is with identification of the content type.

Problems reading generated pdf-files

Hi all,
I have problems reading generated pdf-files from
Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3
An error-message occurs when opening the pdf with
Adobe Acrobat 5.0.1:
... problem 110 and after moving in an empty pdf-document
the messages:
- too few operands
- an unrecognized token
I think the solution must be very simple, but the docu and
other info resources provide nothing aboutthis issue.

Problem with Generate to File...

Hi:
I am executing a report from a form. I am sending this some parameters as filters. When the report executes it, it is OK, but when I want to save it in a file (going to generate to file) it saved me it with the all datas without paying attention to the parameters (filters). I know that if I show the parameter form builder to the user and it enter again the data the file will be all right, but my boss wants me to find another solution.
Have you got any idea of what can I do?

I am sending user parameters by a form and calling the report through this. It seems that when I save it to a file it blanks the user parameters.

CS3:Problem in generating .ps file for an indesign document.

I have ported a plug-in built for InDesign server CS2 to CS3.
Generating ".ps" file is one of the functionality of my plug-in.
But for the given document InDesign CS3 server Debug generated the following asserts in the server log.

I have debugged the code and found that the following API is causing these asserts.

Sorry I think I didn't use the right terminology, somehow I want to include/link the file (not with menu item 'place') programmatically in my current open Indesign document, then I expect to see the filename in Link palette. I can do this with linking to a page item in doc but I don't want to assign it to a particular page item, rather I want to assign it to doc. Is any approach to do it?

JAXB generated files problem

I see all the generated interfaces. But in impl folder, I do not see the class for AddressLine. Thus I get this error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.abc.my.generated.files.impl.BillingAddressTypeImpl$AddressLinesTypeImpl$AddressLineTypeImpl
I see the interface for BillingAddressType$AddressLinesType$AddressLineType but NO impl.
Anyone know what the issue is. I am certain it is related to the way xsd is defined for AddressLine but am not sure whats the issue.

Dont bother looking into this. I found the issue.
I saw that jaxb is generating the files and compiling them all well. But then, when i try to jar them or zip them, the files with names > 128 chars do not make it to the jar/zip. Windows does not recognize files name >128 chars. U cannot name a file that long. So, there were 2 files that were > 128 and thus were not making into the jar and thus NoClassDefFound error.
Very interesting. Took 2 days of my time.

Reports 6.0 and Parameter Lists and Generate to File

I am using the run_product built in from Forms 6.0 and opening
up a report passing it several parameters via a parameter list.
Everything works great when previewing the report.
There is the option in the report preview under File -> Generate
to File. When I generate a report to file using any type of
format it appears that the report does not use the parameters
that I passed in originally from the form. It appears that it
looses all the parameters I passed in. This is most concerning
to me. Am I doing something wrong or is this a "feature" I
didn't know about? I really would like users to have this
ability.

Yes I guess this will work, but the option to generate to file
is extremely misleading if you ask me. This option should
generate the current report with the current parameters. This
is unacceptable as far as I am concerned and should be
considered a bug. Oracle needs to give us more control over
FORMS and REPORTS into all too many situations I have been
frustrated because I am not able to do something that I want to
do.
I feel in general REPORTS object is very limited compared to
crystal reports....

Adogjf Unable to generate jar files under JAVA_TOP error while patching

Hi,
I'm upgrading my version of Java from 1.3.1_19 to 1.5.0_17. I downloaded the jdk-1_5_0_17-linux-i586.bin file and unpackaged it to /u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0. It unpackaged it to a new directory jdk1.5.0_17 (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk1.5.0_17), whereas the old version is in a directory jdk (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk).
Having done that I had to run an interoperability patch (4372996). Upon running this patch I received an error at the end:
adogjf() Unable to generate jar files under JAVA_TOP
There were no other errors.
I think the problem has to do with where my new java version is located but I'm not sure. I'm thinking that it's still looking under the old JAVA_TOP (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk) when I want it to look under the new JAVA_TOP (/u0/<SID>/<SID>db/10.2.0/jdk1.5.0_17). So, should I move the contents from the new directory (jdk1.5.0_17) to the old directory (jdk) or is there a way to 'point' it to the new JAVA_TOP.
Please let me know if I'm totally off base and there's another solution. We're currently on EBS 11.5.10.2, DB 10.2.0.4 and RHEL 4 Update 5.

PI unable to generate XLSX file

Hello Experts,
I have one scenario where I have to generate ".XLSX" file and I have followed the below post by Aashish Sinha.
Convert incoming XML to Excel or Excel XML – Part 1 - XSLT Way
The output file is generated with ".xlsx" however while we are trying open the file,it is saying that the file is corrupt.If we change the extension manually to ".xls" then it opens,though it gives a warning. We need to generate a proper ".XLSX" file which could be opened without any warning.
Can any one advise if there is any way to have that? Appreciate your help!!
Note:I tried the JAVA mapping and got same problem.

I see no problem with your batch file, and the messages
proceed properly. To troubleshoot this further, I suggest
you read the email (currently adjacent) titled:
"Error using MIF doclet to create PDFs".
It describes several different approaches, including
generating PS and using Distiller to generate PDF,
or trying dzbatcher with -v option to echo each
command to see where it stops.
Please let us know your results, as this seems to be
a common problem.

V are facing some probelms with reports6i.
1.we are calling the report using the command line method not
run_product.for these reports 'Generate to File' menu is not working.It shows
an error like Umimplemented Error (rep-0999).How to solve this problem.
2.In one report we are using CLOB field.but when we take the print output of
this field some of the characters are missing in print out.the problem what
we think is that, there is no entre key padding when a word wrap is
occuring.We have to give it manually which is not applicable in all
cases.Please give some methods to solve these probelms.
Please treat this as an urgent matter.

regarding the 1st point there is one default printer attached to my m/c.but still the same error is coming. is it bcoz v r using command line arguments.but there should not be any link how u r calling the reopt.do v need to to pass any argument for doing this operations.my generate to file menu is enabled any way.pls help me to solve this problem.

Hi,
I am not sure what do you want to convey here - "It is working with Reports builder and not working with menu". From Report builder, only way to generate the otput to file is to go through menu, there are no other shortcut or toolbar icon present. Do you want to say, it works when you run to previewer but is failing when you generate to a file. To give you a hint:
1. Does the problem exist with only this report or with all the reports?
2. If the problem is with all the reports, then there is a setup problem.
3. Try running PRINTER DRIVER TEST against your printer, to check it is ok?
4. Check that the login under which you are trying to run the report, has the priviledge to print with this default printer.
5. Try changing the printer driver?
If this does not solve the problem, please contact Oracle support to resolve this issue.
