Am having a requirement of generating a random number based on the type of Process.
Say if it is medical means I want it to be MEDxxxxx .
Is thr any FM Please send some suggestions...

First this is not WDABAP related question.
To Do this you need to contact Functional guys, they will generate number ranges.
Based on that object we can generate numbers. using NUMBER_RANGE_ENQUEUE and
NUMBER_GET_NEXT function module.

Hi Anand,
The SAP system issues the numbers for internal number range intervals automatically. This number is between the from-number and the to-number. The last number issued is logged in the current number level.
You need to enter a number for external number issue. The number you enter needs to be between the from-number and the to-number. For external number ranges, the number number used is not logged. So the next available number is not possible in a straight forward way.
Only for Internal number ranges, the FM NUMBER_GET_NEXT can get the next available number.

Wrong internal order number for internal number range

Hi,
I have created an internal order type and assigned the internal number range 450000-459999. When we checked the numbers given for the system there are missing numbers. For example; the numbering is OK up to 450013 numbered order and the next order has 450020 number, and next one has the 450040
number.
I checked the COAS table and there are no number used by any other order. What can be the reason for this situation? How can we fix the problem? Is there any one who face the same problem?
What are your suggesitions...

Generate random data for MaxDB

we are doing some tests on our MaxDB installation
We would like to generate some activity on the database in order to test performance and generate some log files in order to do a complete restore/recovery
I think it's possible to use some sql statement to create and populate a table using sqlcli, but I don't know how to enter many rows in one time, anyone know how do do this?

There are several options:
1. Option (super cheap and easy):
Open an SQL Session
Create a dummy table e.g.
create table dummy (col1 char(1000), col2 char(1000), col3 char(1000))
Load data into the dummy table, e.g.
insert into dummy (select lpad('x', 1000, 'x'), lpad('x', 1000, 'x'), lpad('x', 1000, 'x') from tables a, tables b where rownum <10000)
Then truncate the table
truncate table dummy
and insert the data again.
2. Option (less cheap, but still easy):
Use the delivered dummy-data test tool SDBFILL, e.g. like this:
C:\sapdb\db760\db\bin\sdbfill DB760 init 0 10 100 0 a SUPERDBA ADMIN
checking the command help gives us this:
usage: sdbfill <DBName> (init|create|append|check|delete) [<From> <To>
[<TransactionLength> [<SleepBeforeCommit> [ (q|a|b)

The q|a|b section refers to the output mode (q= quiet, a=ascii, b=binary).
In order to use it you've to make sure that the provided DBA user is setup as NOT EXCLUSIVE user.
The program will create a dummy table called 'sdbfill' with this command:
C:\sapdb\db760\db\bin\sdbfill DB760 create 1 10 100 0 a SUPERDBA ADMIN
Dropped table 'sdbfill'.
Created table 'sdbfill'.
10, final commit at 9
9 rows inserted successfully.
Afterwards you can just pump in data like this:
C:\sapdb\db760\db\bin\sdbfill DB760 append 0 100000 100 0 a SUPERDBA ADMIN
100000, final commit at 99999
You may want to play a bit around with this tool to lean how it works.
It's the same tool used by the backup tool vendors to create data in MaxDB.

Generate Turing Number for form submission to prevent automated registraton

Hi,
How I want to have a script to generate and check a turing number. A turing number is a number the user has to read and copy in order to be able to validate a form. This avoids automated submissions. Just like when you register for yahoo mail etc it asks for this number to prevent automated registrations. Any help is appreciated.

Just so happens 3 days ago, I took a few hours to research and write a few methods that generate a "turing" sequence of characters and numbers or custom and write an image, I call them viverification (vivo = life , verify = proof) images. Very simple, I have different methods for different needs in my client application code. Here are the methods:
     * Returns a random character chosen from the input charset. If the charset is an empty string returns a char
     * from the set:

    }You'll just need to import the requisite java packages used and you are good to go. If you want to make more complex images you can investigate the image API's further to get a more fancy (though it really is pointless to do so) minimally visually obfuscated images are all you need to thwart even the best subversive OCR (optical character recognition) algorithms that might be used by nefarious agents to spoof viverification.
Use:
Ideally you'd call the method as part of generating a page for an authentication or form in a dynamic fashion. (jsp /servlet) The returned string will allow the method to verify the sequence generated against the value returned by the vivo agent viewing the form. As part of validation you would write simple code to check if the string returned during the image generation doesn't match the form field for agent entry. If so you can deny the action, otherwise you can authorize it.

Need help with a JavaScript to generate random number

First things first. I don't know the J of JavaScript.
When I was thinking of some readymade solution to generate a random number in Captivate, I found this on a LinkedIn forum.
1) Add a user variable to your project called "randomNumber". It's value can be zero.
2) Add a Text Caption with "$$randomNumber$$" in it, to check whether your script is working.
3) Add a button to the slide. Give it an On Success Action of Execute JavaScript. Turn off it's "Continue Playing the Project" checkbox.
4) Add the following text in the button's Script_Window:

However, this is (as the poster in the forum warned) not working for Captivate 7. Can somebody please help?

When testing, make sure you are testing from a web server where the web address begins with http or https. When setting the captivate variable "randomNumber" try this instead:

Modify the process of generating Requisition number in iProcurement

We have a requirement to generate the Requisition number based on some of the information entered in iProc ( Using DFF) .Since iProc always use the sequence number to generate the number, we will be modifying the out of box functionality to generate the custom Req. Number.
I have to identify all the objects that i need to modify in iProc ( VO, EO or controller classes ..etc), I was wondering if any one has this information?.
I got the names of all the objects from 'About page' link and downloading these objects to my client and de compiling them to JAVA files to understand the flow, but this is very time confusing. I was wondering is there is a faster way to get this information.

However, there is not a way to get Lightroom to render a file that is cropped to a specific aspect ratio. Whatever sizing parameters are specified, we will always honor the aspect ratio of the source file. In your processRenderedFiles function, you could use a third-party tool like Mogrify to regenerate the output file with the fill necessary to satisfy the desired aspect ratio.

Generate random number and letter in a text field ...

I having a bit trouble when trying to generate random number and letter in application express in a text field. Say I have a licence form and when user wants to create a licence, it will provide a random licence number in the licence number field but it has to be unique. the number should be something like HQ2345. I was trying to set the following sql in default value for that text field but it is not working -

Put this as default value for your text-item
DBMS_RANDOM.STRING('',2) || trunc(DBMS_RANDOM.VALUE(1000,9999))
with type PL/SQL Expression. It have tested it and it works fine.

Generating random number within size of map problem (why me!!) ?

I'm trying to generator random numbers between 0 and a map width and another random number between 0 and a map height i.e if the map width was 3 i can generator 0,1,2.
The coding i am using to do this is :

for that i use BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE and it works and the item is inserted.
( p_posnr = sales order item and ln_etnr = schedule_line = 1 )
Now I have to maintain the specific po item line and to insert the Profit Center related to the Purchase Requisition Number that was assigned to the above sales order item like using transaction ME22N.
when i use the transaction all i have to do is to ADD the Purchase requisition number to the PO Order Number and to add the PROFIT CENTER.
for this i use BAPI_PO_CHANGE.
i colect the folowing data:

where the ext_poaccount is the poaccount parameter.
this form:
clears ext_poaccount.
copies the data from lt_account into ext_poaccount.
and returns the ext_poaccount with the empty Profit center field
and so after performing get_current_data my parameter is deleted.
then it's almost the end of the function and nothing else related to the poaccount parameter.
so it's no use for me to insert the field Profit_Center?
is there another FM that i should use to be able to insert the profit center?
what should i do?

requirement: i have created one sequence to generate the batch numbers.i have to get the nextval of the sequence for batch number (this column is not part of the table. its dynamic column/alias column) only for every 50000 records of a table.
detail description:
for example, if i have 10 records in a table. And, if i want to generate the batch number for every 2 records, then the output should look like belo.

Please help me on this. Please let me know if you need more info.
