Generating XML Payload using outbound interface

Hi Members ,
I have a requirement which is not that clear or details of which are not exactly known.But I just know that I have to outbound some accounting information basically GL Account segment values .Thing is I have done some interfaces before but was using UTL_FILE to have delimiter files. Please let me know how to generate XML file in our case?
Is it something I can leverage in R12 the XML Gateway ??
Appreciate help.
Thanks
Narayana

1) First you have yo create map using message designer(map between DTD and DataBase). Please refer user guide for more details.
2) Load Map
3) use ecx_oubound.getxml for generating an xml with the map code given

    No, It is a PO Print only. Only for changes to PO that do not affect the value of the PO,this error occurs. When i select the entry for the PO and click on Output message, the output message fails. On clicking Display Message, it shows the message - No schedules exist for the Scheduling Agreement XXXXXX(the PO number".
    So,it is not for Scheduling Agreements but for PO only. I know it is weird to see such an error on the PO output message in ME9F.
    Pls help.

  • Validating an XML message from Outbound Interface.

    Hi All,
    I hav an xml generated from an outbound interface and is to be validated against a BC Schema that hav been specifically created from the sample XML docs.I'm strucked at how to validate the XML in XI against the xsd file. Can anyone pls help me out in this regard.It's a bit urgent.

    Hi Anil,
    When you create a dataType by yourself, then XI generates the XSD.
    Instead, you could create the dataType by importing a XSD. Two ways:
    1. While creating a new dataType, Goto Tools->'Import XSD' and select your XSD file.
    2. You can import your XSD as 'External Definitions'
    In these 2 cases, the dataType will be as per your XSD. Then use this dataType for receiving the data into XI.
    XI validates against that dataType XSD, which is your XSD.
    Hope this helps!

  • Generate XML output using DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype and not from rdf

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to display output from a particular table in XL format. Out of all the known possible options, I am planning to use the XML publisher to generate XL output.
    For the data source, instead of using the conventional way of creating XML data using rdf,I am planning to use DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype pl/sql procedure to generate the XML output. And from the output, call the template to generate the required Excel output.
    Now, I am using the following code to generate XML output but am not sure how to proceed from here. I need to first print the XML data in the FND Output file after which I was planning to call the 'XML Report Publisher' (XDOREPPB) program and use the current request id to get the excel output but I am not able to find the way to print the XML data in the output file as:
    fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xml_type); - is throwing an error as l_xml_type is an XML data output.
    PROCEDURE xml_main (
    errbuf OUT VARCHAR2
    ,retcode OUT VARCHAR2
    ,p_project_from IN VARCHAR2
    ,p_project_to IN VARCHAR2
    AS
    l_xml_type XMLTYPE;
    BEGIN
    SELECT DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype
    ('SELECT fnd_global.conc_request_id
    ,TO_CHAR (segment1)
    ,to_char(start_date,''MM/DD/RRRR'')
    ,to_char(xxmcc_project_details_pkg.current_profit_projection
    (project_id),''999,999,990.90'')
    ,to_char(xxmcc_project_details_pkg.cost_to_date (project_id),''999,999,990.90'')
    ,''1''
    FROM pa_projects_all
    WHERE segment1 BETWEEN NVL (p_project_from, segment1)
    AND NVL (p_project_to, segment1)')
    INTO l_xml_type
    FROM DUAL;
         fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xml_type);
    END xml_main;
    Can anyone point me as to how to publish XML output using a PL/SQL procedure (DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype)
    Thanks.

    Pl see if the example included in this presentation helps http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/applications/Events/OOW-2006/EBS/S281401_Sridhar_Bogelli.pdf
    Also, you do not need to explicitly call XDOREPPB in later versions of XML Publisher. If you set up everything correctly (as described in the presentation above and the link below) the Output Post Processor is called automatically after the XML file is generated successfully.

    You must have the correct file extention. Here's what is wirtten in the detailed help of the function:
    output filename specifies the filename of the generated report.
    You must have the correct extension for the type of report to generate (.xml, .htm, .html, or .zip).

  • How do I generate XML File Using JDeveloper 9.0.3

    Hi All
    I want to generate a XML file against the data in one of my Oracle table,,,, This is the first time I am doing this Task, so please let me know whether I am going through the correct path, or if not appreciate if you could put me to the correct system of doing this please..
    OK , Well I am working to a publishing company in Australia and we have Oracle 8i (Release 3 ) database and I have Oracle JDeveloper (9.0.3 -Preview ) version in my personal computer.
    I have a Table(ONIXT4) with three Columns( ISBN,Author,Price) in Oracle as follows:
    ISBN     Author     Price
    2512456321     Peter     14.50
    7445854127     Ray      21.75
    What I want to generate a XML File using JDeveloper as below with respect to data in above Table.
    <ISBN>2512456321</ISBN>
    <ProductInfor>
    <Author>Peter</Author>
    <Price>14.50</Price>
    </ProductInfor>
    <ISBN>7445854127</ISBN>
    <ProductInfor>
    <Author> Ray </Author>
    <Price>21.75</Price>
    </ProductInfor>
    I created the database connection within JDeveloper to Oracle those working fine,, my major problem is,, the Tag <ProductInfor>, since this is not a Column Name of the Table I don't know how should I incorporate this with the file.
    What I did so far with the JDeveloper:
    1.Create the Workspace and the Project
    2.File -- New -- XML -- XSQL
    3.Then I Selected Query from the Component Palette,, Property Values were NOT changed, and gave 'Select * from ONIXT4'
    Whole Untitled3.xsql file look likes below
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <!--
    | Uncomment the following processing instruction and replace
    | the stylesheet name to transform output of your XSQL Page using XSLT
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="YourStylesheet.xsl" ?>
    -->
    <page xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql" connection="Connection1">
    <xsql:query max-rows="-1" null-indicator="no" tag-case="lower">
    Select * From OnixT4
    </xsql:query>
    </page>
    Then the Result comes as:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    - <!--
    | Uncomment the following processing instruction and replace
    | the stylesheet name to transform output of your XSQL Page using XSLT
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="YourStylesheet.xsl" ?>
    -->
    - <page>
    - <rowset>
    - <row num="1">
    <isbn>2512456321</isbn>
    <author>Peter</author>
    <price>14.5</price>
    </row>
    - <row num="2">
    <isbn>7445854127</isbn>
    <author>Ray</author>
    <price>21.75</price>
    </row>
    </rowset>
    </page>
    How do I format the outcome to obtain the my requirement??
    Welcome all comments of donig this ....

    To format your XML to the requiered output you'll use a stylesheet and XSLT
    As it says in your output:
    - <!--
    | Uncomment the following processing instruction and replace
    | the stylesheet name to transform output of your XSQL Page using XSLT
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="YourStylesheet.xsl" ?>
    -->
    A nice tutorial on XSLT is available on the XML technology center in OTN:

    Hi Maix,
    You may manually add the files into download basket and then approve it.
    Use the SCN document below for the steps.

  • Automate flat IDOC to XML IDOC using one interface

    Hello all,
    We are currently going through a migration process where XI will be replacing a legacy system.  As part of our testing procedure, we are using historical data pairings from the legacy system and using an automated tool to compare if the interfaces we develop in XI match.  The catch is we need the data that we are comparing in XML format for the automated tool to be able to do the comparison, and unfortunately the legacy data is a flat format.  So now I would like to automate a way to convert this data to XML format.
    Specifically for IDOCs, I would like to have an interface which picks up the flat files, transforms them to XML, and then drops them back into another file directory in the XML format.  It would need to be able to pick up any kind of IDOC (given that XI has the metadata already imported), recognize what message type it is, then do the conversion.
    I have been reading on SDN and found that there is a standard tool to do the conversion, but it appears it can only handle one kind of IDOC at a time, and it appears it only picks up one specifically named file at a time.
    Has anybody tried to implement a scenario like this?  Any help is appreciated (A walkthrough would be the best!).
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Mike,
    What version of PI will you be using? PI 7.11 can now auto-convert Flat File IDocs to XML IDoc and vice versa.
    Here is the documentation:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/b5/bd93642dd3410f90ebea702399fac4/frameset.htm (flat to XML)
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/74/a45bc07e2043fb9b63295229178903/frameset.htm (XML to flat)
    I have not tried this personally, but seems like you might be able to use a "File to File" scenario with no mapping, and use the "IDOCFlatToXmlConvertor" Module in your File Adapter Comms Channel and it may just work, giving you files that are the IDoc XML version of the flat file it is reading. It looks like it does an RFC call to the back-end SAP system where the IDocs are originally from (or could be any system as long as you know the IDocs in there are identical), and reads the IDoc metadata (which has always included flat file field offsets for each IDoc Segment Field), and applies that either to convert from flat file IDoc to XML IDoc, or XML IDoc to flat file IDoc.
    It does mention that there is a limitation that there can only be one IDoc in the source flat file - could be a problem if you have many in one file, which is pretty typical.

    CURSOR c_xml(i_xml IN XMLType, i_xmlns IN VARCHAR2) IS
    SELECT extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Postal.PostBox.Number/text()' , i_xmlns).getNumberVal() box#
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Thoroughfare.Number/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() street_number
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Thoroughfare.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() street_name
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Locality.DependentLocality.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() suburb
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Locality.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() town_city
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Postal.PostalCode.Number/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() post_code
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Postal.PostOffice.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() box_lobby_name
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/ResultRecord/AddressDetails/Postal.PostRoute.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() rd_number
    FROM TABLE(xmlSequence(extract(i_xml, '/GetAddressSearchResponse/SearchResults' , i_xmlns))) xmlseq;
    This is not correct because it doesn’t select anything. The i_xml parameter passed in is the same as above however the i_xmlns parameter that is passed into this cursor is different. It’s currently passed in as:
    'xmlns:ns2="urn:nzpost:schemas:xAL:3.0"'
    Which matches what is returned in the soap message (first the first address match returned):
    &lt;ResultRecord Type=&quot;URBAN&quot;&gt;
    &lt;ns2:AddressDetails
    xmlns:ns2=&quot;urn:nzpost:schemas:xAL:3.0&quot;&gt;
    I'm calling this cursor in loop as follows:
    for r_cu in c_xml(v_xml_response, v_xml_namespace)
    loop
    dbms_output.put_line('***** test12 - ws_avs_clients - IN LOOP - delete/insert nzp23_address');
    Nothing gets returned.
    Firstly, I’m not sure how to cater for n2, n3, n4, n5, etc which are the namespaces returned and incremented for each address match.
    I’m also wondering if my cursor should be changed to something like:
    CURSOR c_xml(i_xml IN XMLType, i_xmlns IN VARCHAR2) IS
    SELECT extract(value(xmlseq), '/Postal.PostBox.Number/text()' , i_xmlns).getNumberVal() box#
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/Thoroughfare.Number/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() street_number
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/Thoroughfare.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() street_name
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/Locality.DependentLocality.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() suburb
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/Locality.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() town_city
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/Postal.PostalCode.Number/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() post_code
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/Postal.PostOffice.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() box_lobby_name
    ,extract(value(xmlseq), '/Postal.PostRoute.Name/text()' , i_xmlns).getStringVal() rd_number
    FROM TABLE(xmlSequence(extract(i_xml, '/GetAddressSearchResponse/SearchResults/ResultRecord/ns2:AddressDetails' , i_xmlns))) xmlseq;
    However I couldn’t have the ns2: before “AddressDetails” because this gets incremented. I don’t think I can also have the i_xmlns namespace parameter passed in as 'xmlns:ns2="urn:nzpost:schemas:xAL:3.0"'
    because the ns2 gets incremented for each address.
    I'm looking for any examples of pl/sql code that extracts the addresses from the SOAP message returned like I’m trying to do?
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brad

    You can find some examples in both the {forum:id=34} and {forum:id=75} forums. Just search on soap:Envelope or soap:Body and you should get some hits back.
    Since you are using 10.2, you will want to use XMLTable instead of TABLE(xmlSequence(extract as XMLTable is the direction Oracle is going. As for ns2:, ns4: it doesn't matter what namespace prefix you use in your XPath statement as long as all the prefixes resolve to the same namespace.
    Here is a starter piece of code that puts all that together for you.
    SELECT town_city, peeking
      FROM XMLTABLE(XMLNamespaces(default 'http://aplt.nzpost.co.nz/schemas/search',
                                  'urn:nzpost:schemas:xAL:3.0' as "adns"),
                    '/GetAddressSearchResponse/SearchResults/ResultRecord/adns:AddressDetails'
                    PASSING XMLTYPE('<GetAddressSearchResponse xmlns="http://aplt.nzpost.co.nz/schemas/search">
       <SearchResults SearchType="StreetAddress">
          <ResultRecord Type="URBAN">

                   <ns2:Name>LOWER HUTT</ns2:Name>
                </ns2:Locality>

  • When To Use Inbound and Outbound Interfaces?

    I use an Inbound message type when i am receiving some data and outbound message type when i push data out of the XI box??Is this correct..
    And how to decide when to use a Inbound and Outbound Interface?

    Hi Barik,
    <b>I use an Inbound message type when i am receiving some data and outbound message type when i push data out of the XI box??Is this correct..</b>
    WRONG!!!
    outbound message->XI->Inbound message...
    (sender system)->XI->(reciever system)
    remeber: when u r sending some data to XI u send it using outbound interface.
    and when u r sending some data from Xi to other system u use inbound interface...
    Hope ur doubt is clear!!

    Hi;
    AFAIK if you prepare template in XML publisher than you can take output as pdf, by the way you can take xml output too
    Please check user guide:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/XMLP5.6.1UserGuide.pdf
    Oracle XML Publisher and Oracle Reports

  • Unusual use of interface defining static factory class with getInstance

    This question is prompted by a recent New to Java forum question ask about the differences between Interfaces and Abstract classes. Of course one of the standard things mentioned is that interfaces cannot actually implement a method.
    One of my past clients, one of the 500 group, uses interfaces as class factories. The interface defines a pubic static class with a public static method, getInstance, that is called to generate instances of a class that implements the interface.
    This architecture was very object-oriented, made good use of polymorphism and worked very well. But I haven't seen this architecture used anywhere else and it seemed a little convoluted.
    Here is a 'pseudo' version of the basic interface template and use
    -- interface that defines public static factory class and getInstance method
    public interface abc {
        public static class FactoryClass
            public static abc getInstance ()
                return (abc) FactoryGenerator(new abcImpl(), abc.class);
    -- call of interface factory to create an instance
    abc myABC = abc.Factory.getInstance();1. Each main functional area ('abc' in the above) has its own interface factory
    2. Each main functional area has its own implementation class for that interface
    3. There is one generator (FactoryGenerator) that uses the interface class ('abc.class') to determine which implementation class to instantiate and return. The generator class can be configured at startup to control the actual class to return for any given interface.
    I should mention that the people that designed this entire architecture were not novices. They wrote some very sophisticated multi-threaded code that rarely had problems, was high performance and was easy to extend to add new functionality (interfaces and implementing classes) - pretty much plug-n-play with few, if any, side-effects that affected existing modules.
    Is this a best-practices method of designing factory classes and methods? Please provide any comments about the use of an architecture like this.

    Thanks for the feedback.
    >
    I don't see how 'the generator class can be configured at startup to control the actual class to return for any given interface' can possibly be true given this pseudo-code.
    >
    I can see why that isn't clear just from what is posted.
    The way it was explained to me at the time is that the interface uses standard naming conventions and acts like a template to make it easy to clone for new modules: just change 'abc' to 'def' in three places and write a new 'defImpl' class that extends the interface and the new interface and class can just 'plug in' to the framework.
    The new 'defImpl' class established the baseline functionality that must be supported. This line
    return (abc) FactoryGenerator(new abcImpl(), abc.class);uses the initial version of the new class that was defined, 'abcImpl()', when calling the FactoryGenerator and it acted as a 'minimum version supported'. The generator class could use configuration information, if provided, to provide a newer class version that would extend this default class. Their reasoning was that this allowed the framework to use multiple versions of the class as needed when bugs got fixed or new functionality was introduced.
    So the initial objects would be an interface 'abc' and a class 'abcImpl'. Then the next version (bug fixes or enhancements) would be introduced by creating a new class, perhaps 'abcImpl_version2'. A configuration parameter could be passed giving 'abcImpl' as the base class to expect in the FactoryGenerator call and the generator would actually create an instance of 'abcImpl_version2' or any other class that extended 'abcImpl'.
    It certainly go the job done. You could use multiple versions of the class for different environments as you worked new functionality from DEV, TEST, QA and PRODUCTION environments without changing the basic framework.
    I've never seen any Java 'pattern' that looks like that or any pattern where an interface contained a class. It seemed really convoluted to me and seems like the 'versioning' aspect of it could have been accomplished in a more straightforward manner.
    Thanks for the feedback. If you wouldn't mind expanding a bit on one comment you made then I will mark this ANSWERED and put it to rest.
    >
    I don't mind interfaces containing classes per se when necessary
